What's On Your Worktop Wednesday #669 This week, A Rubber Duck!

I'm back and as you can see...my desk is still a little bit rubbish! But because I missed last week I just had to join in over on Stamping Ground with WOYWW!? to see what everyone else had been up to even if I am really late!. Well, why not!?  Come and join in too!  The picture above  was taken my my old camera, so...a bit blurry...

My latest buy was two Xyron Stickers makers. I haven't seen them about for ages, so spent some Birthday Money on them as well as on those 'Garden Delights twist and pop' die set, from Made To Surprise (Sam Calcott)  I wanted to get the whole bundle when I first watched the You Tube Video last year but they had already sold out. 😔

Anyway, I've got them now, just have to look out for the stamps and papers.... my favourite die is the fence- and the wheelbarrow- and the rake...

Once Covid had cleared, we had a few days away... in Kent. In a 'Log Cabin' and this cute little suitcase had the key inside and the duck? That was in the bathroom. (Yes we were allowed to keep them!) What is the purpose of a Rubber Duck?

Before we went away I ordered some Penny Sliders from Crafters Companion as they were less than half price. They were waiting behind the flower pot when we go home. So the only one I haven't got now is the little dragon, but plenty of yummy goodies to play with! That's it from me! Hope you all had a lovely WOYWW!? See you all soon! But I will be late! Thanks for stopping by.

Don't forget to join in with my Birthday Challenge...by the way, your makes don't have to be 'birthday', they can be anything you want and back dating IS allowed. Thank you for stopping by! CLOSED

Happy Birthday Michael!

Yes, it's my brother's birthday today... He was born five years after me so that makes me five years older than him.  I visited him today at his care home, after, of course I was tested negative for the C bug, where the carers were decorating a cake they had prepared for him.  Really nice!

I made him a card...motorbikes and guitars, is what I came up with because he used to ride motor bikes and played in a band. I used the Twist and Pop design, mainly because I thought I could do that quickly, but I got the mechanism wrong, luckily it all turned out okay in the end. I used a Kenny K digi. This one I bought years back in March 2013, and later made a card for hubby using the same digi. See post below, it's my this weeks 'Blast From The Past.' (Shoulda waited for the June, coz it was free then! I've also seen it on CraftsUprint as an already coloured 3D)

Anyway! Back to this card... it's just under 6"x6" I've used a 3D tri-boss embossing folder, covered it with 'Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gliding Polish', then just cut round it and fixed it onto another piece of black card at odd angles, then roughed up the edges with the same gold. I added the main topper, which was made up of red, gold, black, embossed gold miri card, more black and then the digi, printed on 160gsm paper and coloured with Promarkers. I added some brass coloured brads too.
Not very happy with the inside as I had an idea of adding more cogs and gadgets, maybe balloons, and bits of the bike too, but I was running out of time after redoing the mechanism. (I really think that could've been bigger) The inside backing paper I love. I have the 12x12 and the 8x8 (200gsm) it's called Grand Plans with the TrimCraft lable on the back. (2017) So! lesson learnt! Don't wait till the last minute to make a card! That's it for now! Thank you for stopping by! Hoping to add this to some...

Blast From The Past!

Every Monday I'm going to (or try to!) add a card, or creation that I made waaay back, as I've noticed a lot of my pictures from years ago have disappeared. So...here we go with something from either the 1st of the month, first time I'd used or done something or... made on a Monday or made in the same month as now! This card was posted 12th June 2013. Not sure what this fold is called, if anyone knows, please let me know!

Birthday Darling Hubby, John!

Well, he is my rock, only far better than a rock. (he does the cooking!) He was up so early this morning he didn't have time to open any of his cards... never mind, he'll be too busy to sneak in here and peek! This is the card I made him. Both of us had motorbikes and we used to have a motor-bike shop.
When the girls  were babies, we lived over it, but the need for a garden and smell of engine oil drifting up into all the rooms soon made us jump onto the mortgage boat, and buy our own little home, with a tiny garden and a little later to where we are now. No more bikes, but John's only got to sniff the sight of one, and I know he misses them!
Back to the card. KennyK image. (Yes I bought this one back in March BUT It's now the June Freebie HERE! left sidebar when you get there) First I was going to do that acetate thing I did with the seahorses, but it didn't quite work out, (Flip the digi and then stick the two together, and print it out on acetate too, and then fix that together ~but I forgot to put a cord/thread through the middle to attach it to the card~ so did this version of a sort of gate fold instead, but not.
It's a bit top heavy as it's an 8x8 card, with a 5 and a half x 5 and a half  card used as the topper (Why isn't there a half sign on the keyboard?) so I've added acetate to the bottom of the smaller card topper to help stabilise it.
We used to go and watch bike scrambling, (more skilful!) not Dirt Bike racing, but never mind!
I couldn't think of what papers to use, so didn't! Just black, yellow and red card, and a bit of embossing, and die cutting (only my old Bigshot wasted loads of scraps of card, by not cutting! Grrrr)  One of the inside embossing was made using a freebie folder, which came in this months Simply Cards and Papercraft, which also came with some stamps too!
Of course I've coloured up with ProMarkers (with the tiny tip addition...the metal tip ones work far better, the others didn't work at all, but Letraset kindly send me replacements awhile back!) Did hunt the internet for a coloured picture of this, to give me some idea of what was what, but could only find a very small one, in mostly grey, so, went with yellow and red instead.
There's a little D attachment, to the side of the top card, which I bought in a gardening store, 3p each, can't be bad! and the 'manly' cord ribbon came off a bosh carrier bag!
Freebie Fonts: I've used Cool Dots and Smarty Pants BTN  there's the link to download, or just google the names. That's it I think! Happy Birthday John, see you later! Hope to add this to same...

This Weeks Wednesday Freebie, On A ....Saturday! CLOSED

Well here's the freebie! Better late than never! It'll stay downloadable untill you stop downloading it. Long gone are the days when over a thousand people did that! But it should stay there for at least a week. I did have a bear pushing the barrow...but...I didn't really want a bear, so I swapped him for this gnomey type person. Hmmm? I might change his face! Who's going to be the first to turn this into a card and play along with my Birthday Challenge!?  That's it for now! Thank you for stopping by! CLOSED!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St Patrick's Day!  I've picked one of my digi's to do a St Patrick's card today. I did have an idea in my head what colours and papers, only.... my printer ran out of ink and I knew I'd make a lovely mess....or put the wrong colour in the wot'sname, so left that to good ol' Hubby.

So...I had to hunt out some papers that were either already printed or in a paper pad...I chose these....nothing to do with St Patricks day at all! But Freebies from #112 QuickCards Made Easy, way back in April 2013. (GO HERE)I loved the colours and those little dragonflies. So I cut the pearl card I used yesterday into 11inches by 5 and a half and scored at 5 and a half, then coloured all the edging using a Turquoise Promarker to make it look like layers, then coloured in my little Leprechaun using the same sort of colours, added a gem rainbow (The Works) and die cut the words 'For You' and 'Cheers' in the same pearl card coloured with the Turquoise Promarker.

My horse shoe punch was rubbish and wouldn't cut out the card, so I just used baco foil.  I wanted to add a shamrock as I know I must have a punch or a die somewhere, as there's one on yesterdays card... I might pull it off! Anyway, I couldn't find it. The inside I've made a pocket for money or a gift card and may add a circle die in white to write on...The stitched square die-cut come from Craft,  a set of 8 from places like the Range, Hobby Craft or Trago Mills. Here I've 'framed' the Leprechaun. The die cut sentiments are freebie from Crafty Magazines.  Inside there's some cloud papers, I will add a link if I can find them for free!

The little candi buttons were cream, so I just coloured them the same and the ticky-tacky paper they're fixed to are from a New Year set of  freebie Doggy party papers from 'Gathered'. Here   You might have to sign in. I might add some Stickles gold to the gold in the pot. I think they need to sparkle a little bit more! That's it for now. Thank you from stopping by!

A Quick Card for Maria and a few Challenges..

Here's a quick card to send to my Daughter Maria, who's having an op today...the same one I had years ago, that ended up with me making cards! I'm also going to add it to Spyder's Birthday Challenge, (use one of my digi's) scroll down or go here to join in. I've used four of my digi's in this card. There's two Hedgie with his Sunflower, Kola and Hedgie with his watering can, plus The Tall Toadstool. The papers are oldies, by Trimcraft. I wanted to use up some scraps and the pink of the flowers matched Hedgie's flower...in the living room...but later I noticed they didn't

I've used a 'Sparkling' pearl card from my local Craft Store, called Aurelie (on sale £2 for ten 240gsm sheets instead of £5) I like using pearl card because you can changed the colour of it so easily using your Promarkers. (or any alcohol ink pens)  I used a Hot Pink on the sentiments and as a layer to edge the backing papers and because it's on pearl it doesn't bleed through and sort of does match the flowers...or seems too.

The font is a freebie it's called  Kristen ITC

A belly band keeps the gatefold card closed for posting.  Inside I've added a scene using my PGN digi's over some clouds backing paper, (which saved on colouring the sky!) everything else was coloured with Promakers.I've also added leaves and grass also coloured with Promarkers. Kola is on  a mini card spring, so he wobbles when 'pinged' I've had these for years too! (Dovecraft) I knew they'd come in handy one day!

That's it for now, thank you for stopping by! I hope to add this to some...
