It's A Quirky Stitchy Sketch!

A very Quirky quick post! (as I'm not really here...) which means it'll go on forever!! This is my Quirky Craft's DT Card for the challenge that has started over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog! (Or should have done if I've pressed the right button...)
This time round it was my turn to set the challenge so you know it's going to be nice and easy and I've chosen to do a
Sketch!
(You always do a sketch Lyn)
Ok! So because it's nice and easy, we expect hundred's if not trillions of you to join in!
It's up to you what you do with the sketch, turn it, poke it, reverse it, jump on it, (Just checking that you do read this!) just so long as we can still see you've used the Sketch. This time our Challenge is being sponsored by
Which means prizes!! So of course all of us on the DT and GDT have used Images found in the Stitchy Bear Store, but you can use anything you like! (But not Grand dad's old socks...please!)
I've used Busy Bertha and made a Tweet Bird-Day card! Couldn't make up my mind on what colour to do the little tweet bird... but decided on yellow in the end. This would make a nice Easter card or New Home card as well as a Birthday or Just Because card... (or... Love you new hat card!!)
I was going to 3D the bird, and I might still do that, so watch this space! I've used Promakers, Peel off's, (very rare for me!) and backing papers from Papermania's Honey& Hugs paper stack. Candy, brads, ribbon and flower from stash. The deckled edged cream hammered card was from Craft Creations.
The font of course is a Freebie! It's called Witched. You can download it from loads of font websites (just Google the name) or go HERE
I've found a few challenges for my Tweet card... hope it fits in. Thanks for stopping by!

A Christmas Card for Mum and Dad

This Tilda card I made for my Mum and Dad. I used Papermania papers and my Stampin' Up prize papers over some gold miri card that I fixed on to a folded green card, then of course I couldn't find an envelope for it! You've probably spotted that I quite liked these papers as I did a few similar cards, one being Tom's and Emma's card, which I posted here on January 1st. The Christmas Tree brads I think were from Woodware, the image was a swap, which I've had for ages but only just found Christmas Eve! (Yes I was still making cards Christmas morning!) I haven't found her to buy yet, so I'm not sure of her real name but if you've seen her let me know! She has wings, so does that make her an angel?? I hope so, because after doing a spot of blog hopping I found The ABC Christmas Challenge blog. This time round the Challenge is A is for Angel, anyway, I think she's an angel so I'm going to put her into the challenge! Pop over and have a look, I bet you have an angel card that'll fit in with this challenge too! There's also some blog candy going too, all you have to do it post about it and add this badge to your side bar. I did turn off the word variation, it was off for about two to three weeks, but I'm afraid I was swamped with spam...so I'm sorry guys...it's gone back on!! (No...I've taken it off again...)
Back to the card!! The red dotty ribbon is from my stash. I used double sided tape to fix the ribbon and silicone to add the bow. As you can see, it was a little too wide, so, a sprinkling of gold micro glitter hid the extra stickiness! Sorry for being a terrible blogger lately. To make up for it I've added a few more posts down below...! Hmmm...that sounds a little painful!

And A Few More Christmas Cards

Sorry I know you're bored with Christmas Cards, but I haven't been able to post for ages as I've only really just got my craft room back to normal, not that you could ever describe my craft room as normal! This image of a very nice little girl carrying a heart bag was a freebie, I coloured with Promakers. I'll put the links in as soon as I can find her!! The paper was from my Stamping up winnings and Papermania 'Joyeux Noel'
Sorry for those of you who didn't get a card ~ I'm sure I sent them all out on time, but I did lose some cards when we did a bit of room swapping and I still haven't found them! So I made some more and then lost all the address's! What a flap I got myself into!! I couldn't remember who I'd posted to and who I hadn't! You see, over the Christmas we cleared everything out of our bedroom and turned it into a dinning room and nearly everything out of my craft room and turned that back into a bedroom. John got our girls bunk beds down from the attic (I always knew they'd come in handy!) The last time he did this, it was Emma's wedding and the bridesmaids slept in them! This time...it was me and John...I baggsied the top bunk until I realised how hard it was to get in and out of!!! It wasn't too good trust me! What with Ozzie and Missy my daughter's two kittens running all over us during the night, by the fourth night we'd both decided we HAD to have our own bed back, even if if meant sleeping out in the shed!!
Right, back to the cards!! These and some to follow, are all the ''quickie' cards, as I call them, as I'd lost the first patch I'd made, and I was fast running out of everything!! Card, paper, glue and time!! The little Penny Black card with the cat on the armchair..(just like home...the cat's always in the best chair!!) was the quickest card I'd ever made!! The actual pink dotty card is very small and was a freebie from a Crafty mag.
This Cheeky Snowman with the blue matching papers was a freebie. You'll find him over on GTC Crafty Corner. There's loads of lovely downloads for you to go and find. So pop over and have a look, don't forget to leave a lovely comment!!
If anyone recognizes their card let me know!! It's always nice to know they arrived okay!
More Christmas Cards to come....later! Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring Cleaning: Penny Black Hedgehogs

I'm sort of writing this backwards...so please excuse the mistakes! The next card up from the bottom is the Penny Black Hedgehogs, racing to a party. I did quite a few of these. Some flat and some 3D. This was a really late birthday card (sorry!) I've forgotten who I sent it to now!(Wave if it was yours!!) The arrow was done on my computer, either printed on card or paper and then stuck on card afterwards. Some mock stitching and then some Peel-offs. I don't use them very often but sometimes they can be quite useful!
This next card was a 3D, and painted in water colour... I don't think the blue and yellow flowers went very well... wrong blue... quite like the paper though. Can't remember where that came from at the moment.
Are we keeping up? I'm completely confused! (back here in BlogLand the pictures are all over the place. There must be a better way of doing this!! I'm back to my comfort zone with the next card, Pink Petticoat Papers, water colour paints again (it's like looking at old photo's isn't it...'Here's one of Aunt Lil in her sun hat and there's one of Uncle Nobby in his long johns and sandals....')
Another late one...Wording done on computer with a mixture of Papermania papers over Pink Petticoat Big Dots, I think.
Pink and Green Pink Petticoat papers... every time I see one of my cards with that green ribbon round it, I think of the lovely chocolates that came in the box it was wrapped round! I may've had a little too much wine when I made this card because it looks a little skew-whiff, I've added acetate to where I've cut the card I think I've started being a bit braver with flowers too OMG...maybe it wasn't such a good idea to get the old cards up from the bottom after all!
'Let old dogs stay buried...' who said that? no, no you've got it wrong....it's 'Let sleeping dogs lie' oh yes, so it is!

Happy Birthday Emma-Marie

No, I'm not telling you how old my eldest daughter is, but it's her birthday today! (It doesn't seem that long ago she was doing this!! ) I made this little House Mouse card for her (thank you Sue for the stamped image) and thought I might enter it in their challenge this week, over on The House mouse and friends challenge blog. This week you have to have some embossing on your card.

Wild Orchid are having a challenge where you must use a sentiment andStamp Something's challenge is cute. Well, this lickle micey is definitely cute!! I've used my new deckle edged nesties, so there's a bit of embossing there and I've used a cuttlebug folder so there's a bit more over there.
In my hurry to get it finished and posted off in time I not only made the card the wrong way round... but actually the wrong way up! Upside down and opening from the top downwards! Luckily I managed to pull it apart before the silicone glue set. That's why those little heart buttons are in the middle and not on the end, where they're supposed to be! (shhh! No one will notice!) The papers I've used are from a Papermania A5 packBlueberry Hill. I've coloured with Promarkers. was a bit disappointed with my new Pastel Blue Promarker, as it was a lot darker than my old one and shows up far more than I would like, usually it almost disappears into the background. I think it looks almost grey here. Never mind. The font is a freebie (of course) I have used it before, but if you missed it, it's called A Red Bucket  there's a link on my sidebar or just Google the name. Thank you for stopping by! Nearly forgot. Happy Burns Night. I think we're having roasted haggis!! (ps, if you really want to know how old Emma is, you'll have to look on last January's post!!)
