It's A Magical Quirky Moment!

Evening! It's time for Quirky Craft's to have another challenge!! Thank you to everyone who joined in the last one. Loved your monsters!  This time it's Diane's turn to set the theme and she wants to see something...
 Magical!
so we'd like to see, Fairies, Wizards, any Magical Creature you can think of ! AND!!  just to make it a bit harder...
Stars, Glitter and Silver on your entries!
Very important, because if Diane can't see stars, glitter or silver on your creation, it won't be counted!!
This week we are sponsored by...
Here's my first card.  I've used one of my favourite  Stitchy Bear images The SteamPunk Fairy. Coloured her with mostly lilac and lavender Promarkers, Used bits of my Memory Die-cut, PinkPetticoat starry backing paper, black and silver card candi,   purple gems, mirco glitter on her wings, stickles glitter on the edges of the ribbons and the papers, black card, silver miri board and black and purple ribbon!
The Font on the front is called Spinstee and the font on the inside of the card is calledKnight Templar.

My second card, I've used a wizard cat from Stitchy bear's  Jacare's Halloween Bundle HERE
I'm really not too happy with how this one turned out! Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The Promarkers bled over the lines, the glue made the silver board frizzle up. The ink ran out on the pumpkin papers and I dropped the micro glitter, so it covered  the whole card! And...I should've added some black to the card at the beginning, but forgot and it really does need more black... I think I might do it again! (better!)
I did a bit of silver embossing on black card with  stamp and ink (haven't done any stamping for ages!) for the corner embellishment, but all papers  and fonts are the same as above. I'm not here at the moment, so this is on timer. Please excuse any woobleness wobbliness and spelling mistakes. The new blogger format is really rubbish! The pictures jump all over the place! Thank you for stopping by. Hoping to add this Fairy card into a few...

Quirky-well Missing You!

Evening everyone! Hope you've all had a fabulous weekend, and even better, (if you're over here where I am) there's still one more day left!! It's time for Quirky Craft's new Challenge! Diane has set the theme this time and she has chosen...
Flourishes and Embossing!
So get your swirly papers and those twirly die-cuts out and come and join in!. This time we're sponsored by the one and only Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, (so that means prizes!)
I've used this lovely little puppy called
As soon as I saw him I thought about those little Labradors where I used to work, so just had to use him!
This little puppy looks just how Rocky used to look about three years ago. (Without the bow! He would've eaten that!!)
I used my Promarkers to colour him, but didn't use black, well I did, but that ended up in the bin, as it looked like a big black blob with white eyes! Instead I used about four different greys and a touch of yellow in the eyes. If you look closely, you can see that the grey colours have sort of curdled!
The papers are all by Pink Petticoat. I've used my Scalloped Circles Nestabilities and Tim Holtz Alterations 'Elegant Flourishes'. I've also embossed the papers but you can't really see that here, inside I've also used a border punch.
The sentiment was done on the computer. The font you probably have but if you haven't, it's called CAC Pinafore and you can download it for free HERE
New Followers! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Anne-Marie! and her lovely blog Little-applefalls! There's some fabulous cards for you to go and have a lookie see! And Di-Wray, no link but you'll find Di's lovely blog...
Pixies Crafty Workshop HERE. pop over and say hi! I used my Promarker fine nibs on this digi Di!! (Di had some candi a little while ago!)
That's it for now. I do have a few challenges, but I've lost my little notebook... probably under a heap of stuff I rummaged through while making this card!! Thank you for stopping by!

It's Not All Black and White

One Stitch At A Time's New Challenge has started over on the challenge blog and for those of you who aren't still humming the tune to The A Team, (because it's their turn tis week!!) pop over and have a look at all the fabulous cards the DT have come up with... the challenge for this week is...

Black and White and One Other Colour...

I've used Stitchy's Image, that gorgeous fairy, 'Just Relex', which you can find over on the...
The purple background on the first card was in my download stash and I put the image, paper and the over lay of branches and balcony, actually made to print onto acetate (from My Craft Studio) all into the My Craft Studio programme (first addition, which was originally a freebie from Create and Craft's newsletter) and printed it all out together and then attached it to some of Susan's swirly papers.
As you can see by the first two pictures the top card didn't at first have a black back ground, but after taking a few pictures I felt that 'something' was missing...did you notice?

On the second card I did the same thing, the purple paper was in my 'Stitchy ' folder, so that's where that must have come from ages ago! but then I also added some of Susan's (Crafty Chaos) lovely spotty paper and printed it all out as one sheet and then fixed that over the black card. You'll also find Crafty Chaos here
I added a bow, paper-clips, two Woodware Brads and some micro glitter from stash to the first card, but kept the second card plain. So, even though the cards look like there's loads of layers, there isn't. Bit of a cheat really! Before I confuse you any more, pop over and join in the Challenge! As easy as Black and White...with one other colour of course!

I did her panties as well, but they fell off somewhere between here and the living room! The flowers were made by using scraps of the same paper and scrunching and inking them up. Her colouring was done with Promaker pens. I've added a bit of 'eyelash-wool' and Stickles Glitter. The sentiment was done on my computer. The Font is a freebie, it's called Dearest Dorothy and you can down load it here

Jungle Fever or Flightless Fairy?

What d'you think of her?? She's called Brite Eyes and she's one of Stitchy's new release images on sale in the Stitchy Bear Stamps Shop. But seeing I'm on the DT I get to play with her.
Actually I've been playing all day... while John made pizza, I've been playing a little bit out of my comfort zone... I wanted to put her into the Jungle, which meant leaves, big leaves...Or animal print (damn, I've only just thought of that!! Oh well, watch out for the next card I make using her!!)
But then I realised she was sitting on rather a big leaf (?!?) or, is it a big leaf or is she a very small flightless fairy?? Anyway, I didn't quite know what I wanted to do, so the best thing for me is to just do something.
I have one Distress Ink (vintage photo, aw, shame) by Tim Holtz, everyone says how fabulous it is, I even have video's on my side bar (but I don't always check them out! scroll down they're near the bottom) anyway, I wanted to do a bit of distressing or blending with this ink, as I'd never done it before, had no idea what to do or where to start, so began rubbing the ink over one of the printed out images, just to give her a bit of shading. Then did the same to some punched out leaves. This of course also meant the paper below was also getting covered with ink and made a nice leafy pattern.
So the next idea was... I made my own backing paper. This was followed by me sticking the leaves into some clear embossing power and zapping them with my heat gun...
The leaves were only punched out from ordinary Tesco's Finest Premium Quality Printer paper 120gsm, not your special crafty paper that costs a lot more but I think they turned out ok.

When I finished the paper with it's smudged on leaves, I scanned it, took that image into 'My Craft Studio' and 'played' with it, made it smaller and then 'tiled' it. Not perfect, but fun...(They say little things please little minds...and mine is very little!!)
Another thing I could've done, seeing I decoupaged the image, while I had the paper in My Craft Studio, I could have placed the image over the printed paper... (hang on, I'll just take a picture) I could've then printed it out and then fixed the cut out image over the top and still had any fine pieces of hair that would've been cut off. (ah, but I didn't do that)
In the picture you can see how the leaves looked before I made them smaller and tiled them.

(click on the photo's to make them bigger)
I have a few more followers so a big (((wave))) to Paddingtondoo Fabulous blog and likes Paddington of course!! Tink over on Tink Time with some lovely Stitchy Images!! Thread bear!!! (I'll find the link later) Yvonne, (Scrappy) from It's A Scrappy World has some lovely cards and must be the best place to go to find so many challenges!!
