A Witch, A Cat, Some Pumpkins and Freebie Links!

First! Happy Birthday Maria! (daughter in Seattle) Just a quickie Halloween card, using one of my own digi's! yay! Two of them, in fact! Witch-Hazel and her cat, and the pumpkins, mainly coz I wanted to add a link to the freebie papers I've used before I forgot where I found them!

The little loops of paper I made by printing out a 'poem' I made up years ago, typed out loads of times and printed out. I was going to use it here but there didn't seem a need to, hence the little loops instead. Might add the sheet of typing later as a freebie too.
And talking about paper, if you look closely you'll see why I might not finish this card. I bought a packet of 'Ultra Smooth White' yesterday, which I wasn't very happy with. The Promarkers just bled all over them, and even started roughing up on her hat! (just like the old Whisper pens used to) I know how many of you have this problem, so if YOU have found some fab paper/card, please tell us where!!!
I've done a bit of mock stitching, added two tiny brad buttons, three purple larger ones and some Dovecraft Glitter glue, bit more for your money than the Stickles, so I thought I'd give it a try, as you can see here, put 'crystal' over black and it shows up as green.
Bit of a bish-bosh inside the card but at least you get to see some of the freebie papers!

It's An Easter Bug Card! Freebie Links

I've made another card for the My Sketch challenge happening over on Quirky Crafts right now. Mainly because I just loved this Digi Image from Bugaboo, who are sponsoring the challenge this time round and nobody had used it. Well, I should have used it, but I used the elephant instead! Well, it was hard to choose!
I've made the card a little larger than I usually do, it's about 8"x8" made from one and a bit A4 cards and cut down to a square.
All the papers I've used here were freebie at one time that came with Crafting Magazines such as Carding Making and PaperCraft, Quick Cards Made Easy, Crafts Beautiful and PaperCraft Inspiration and the yellowy flowery sheet (the first one on the card you can hardly see) was once a freebie from MadAboutCards. You may have to 'login' to download them on some of the sites, but it's well worth it! I've 3D-ed the digi, (printed it out about four times) coloured with Promarkers and added a splash of Stickles Glitter glue.
The rabbit and Easter egg ribbon was from Crafty Ribbons. (I won them last year!)
This time I didn't cheat by edging the card with a black ProMarker, I actually used black card for the layering.
The Sketch is very easy, you can keep it plain or fill it with all sorts of embellishments if you like! I've added gems, flowers, an extra lacy bit by the ribbon and that cute tiny punched out rabbit and of course all those Easter Eggs! (That took me ages!)

Back 2 Skool!

I don't really need a 'back to school card', but I thought I'd make one anyway (just in case!) using my latest digi. Found HERE in my store. I once made a card for Oscar, Tom's (son-in-law) little 'nephew', only trouble with that digi was, hubby, who quickly became an expert on copy-writes and other digi artists, wouldn't let me put it in my digi store! (meanie) as he thought it was too much like another well known hedgie, so this year, I did a Mole, can't go wrong with a mole! Here's one of my Back to School hedgehogs on an ATC from last year Here what do you think?(Nah! It's nothing like it, is it!)

Anyway here he is, Digger the Mole, looking all Moley and off to school... Hopefully they'll soon teach him to spell and not make mole hills in the lawn!

Coloured with Promarkers. The brads are soft plastic. There's an Apple, a pencil, an A+, a star and there's also a little yellow school house and a yellow school bus, just like they have over in the USA (but not here in England)

The light numbered papers (designed by Hot Off The press) was a freebie from Craft's Beautiful Magazine way back in 2007! Yes, I've found them for you HERE. Because it's wwwaay back there are no pictures and you will have to login/register so I would paste and copy the page first, which is...

I don't think the paper is as large as they were in the mag, but you will get some templates too, which might be useful! Another Tri-fold For Tom's Birthday!

It's Tom's Birthday tomorrow (Friday) so of course I've made him a tri-fold card using my (old) Ultimate Crafter's Companion. He's such a big kid and he likes teddy bears, so I've made him a card using this Dustin Pike Birthday Bear. Yes, I know it's very much like the one I made for Dustin's Challenge last week ( I won!!) but if you're on a roll, I say, keep going! So, another tri-fold card with the back fixed to make a pocket so I could add a tag.
This time I used a green, not hammered card but one that had a 'hammery' look about it. Used a mixture of green gingham papers,which were both free,. One with Paper Craft Essentials Magazine this month in a paper stack and one you'll find HERE.
I've added mock stitching, two of Dustin's digi's, the bear and the cake. I've 3D-ed the balloons, the bears head, his hand holding the cake and the front of the box he's sitting in. Added a frog button I brought back with me from USA, probably from Ben Franklin along with the little car brad and my Nestabilities 'Classic Scalloped Circles Large, which I used inside the card. I haven't got one of those 'embossing' mats, so I use a bit of thick card, it works just the same.

The bottom font inside the card and used on the tag, is called 1942 report. Looks like I've used an old typewriter. You can download it for free, HERE
The top font actually on the outside and the inside cos of the fold, is called BeanBag and you can download that for free HERE.
I didn't have green candi, so I coloured them with a Promarker, and because they were made with pearl card they've stayed shimmery.
I know this is for Tom ...but I actually made this card with Top Tip Tuesday's latest Challenge in mind. One for the Kids. I'll add my Tuesday tip as well! Like killing two stones with one bird! The tag says, 'This entitles you to one Birthday surprise!'
Well, before we've sent him off to race cars round a racing track, canoeing, a Monty Python 'Spamalot show because he didn't think he could manage the archery we'd fixed up as he'd hurt his shoulder. Unknown to us he was already very good at archery and has since taken it up again. So this year we thought how about bungee jumping? hahaha...no.... not that...I'll tell you later, otherwise it won't be a surprise!

Another 'I'm Late!' Quirky Card!

 

 

Oh My Goodiness! It'll soon be time for a 500 followers freebie!! (Blogger keeps changing his mind tho, he's not very good at counting) In the meantime, I forgot all about showing you that other DT card I did for lQuirky Crafts last week! Here it is. We're doing Alice In Wonderland and there's still a whole week left to join in. Anything connected to The story would be fabulous! I've used this cute birthday bunny (white Rabbit, un-birthday cake) from our sponsorsThe Stamping Boutique 

I've done a bit of 3D-ing, used my nesties to cut out the first bunny with it's background and fixed another bunny over the top. So that's two bunnies, and if you blink there'll probably be another two! (bunnies are like that!) I've coloured him with ProMarkers.

Freebies! The backing paper's I've used are called 'Time For Tea' They were free with Quick Cards Made Easy last year (years back) but you can download them from CardMaking & PaperCraft download page, now called Gather. There's teapots and cake, just right for A Very Merry UnBirthday.

I printed these out on 160gsm white paper, with my printer running out of ink, and they still turned out really nice I think! The flower was printed on thinner paper and crunched up. I did the sentiment on the computer. (You can never have too much cake!) The font is a freebie too. (The ink just about gave out!) I'm sure I've already linked it. It's called Pea Faye. I'm sure you'll find it if you google the name. You'll love it, as the brackets make these funny little bee's and the $ sign is a happy face and I think the + is a heart. ATC Swap. Poppies, Remember

The decoupage poppies are from a Country Diary calendar, I think was a freebie from CP&PC Magazine (check out their freebie download papers anyway) about two years ago. (2008 for 2009 most likely) I've just used a tiny bit of Xmas Red Stickles Glitter. I did the sentiment on the computer and of course the font is a freebie, called AdineKirnberg-S, which I'm sure I've linked before. (bit small so you'll have to boost it up to 22-24, instead of 12)

Baby Boy Card

I've added a few links to freebies papers in this Post. I know most of you 'Oldies' will have them, but there's quite a lot of Newbies who won't have! Just finished another baby boy card this afternoon. Out of the three, Tom (son-in-law) has chosen the shaker card I made a few posts back. I knew he would!
Same Penny Black image that I used for the other card, as it's what Tom had asked for, but this time I used two different sized gingham papers instead, available to download for free HERE.
The flowers are the same blue gingham, just printed on a bit of note paper. I think they look more like they've been stamped out of cloth.
The New Baby sentiment is from MadAboutCards and you can download that with other things like hands and feet for free too, HERE. (they also have some baby pink gingham as well and also pink and yellow gingham in their Easter section, while you're there 'check' out the cute chicks too!)

I've added a bit if Stickles glitter, used Martha Stewart and Xcut punches for the flowers and leaves and two McGill stacking punches for the squares and a cuttlebug die cut (which you can hardly see) and a Woodware corner punch. Plus ProMakers to colour.

Tom's been busy all evening, making things! Typing, stamping and colouring! He's made these baby sitting vouchers. (Emma helped cut them out and fix them together with the heart brad)

The baby (Tom's new nephew) hasn't been named yet and won't be until he goes back to Iceland in about two months, I believe the happy parents will be handing out the vouchers to family and friends to baby sit. I'm guessing there'll be lots of takers!

Gerry In Gingham in a Die Cut Challenge!

Sorry I'm sooo late with this post, but I have been very busy. It's my Mum and Dad's 60th wedding Anniversary this Thursday and I've been sorting things out so I could put a little piece in the local paper about them. Well, you know how I rattle on, so was a bit surprised when they rung and said they needed more! I'd written a whole page!
"Yes, we know," said Roz the reporter, "but...we need their name!!"
Mum and Dad just wouldn't do! (Oops!)

Also something else is going on, which I'm very excited about, but I'm not going to tell you about that yet!
And I won Die Cut Dreams Acetate Challenge the other week and was given the choice of two challenges to join them as a guest designer. Well, I had to choose the first challenge, which has gone out today. It was to use anything you wish, any colour you wish as long as your creation has Gingham on it somewhere. So I've chosen one of my own digi's Gelly the Giraffe, although I might call this one Gerry The Giraffe, as he's a little different from the freebie that was available a few weeks back. I changed him especially for the challenge. I've used green and yellow gingham, a freebie download available on my sign bar.
I've paper pieced the giraffes, 3D-ed the left one and also flipped him to make a mirror image. (I've used a pastel yellow ProMarker to darken the spots) I've also taken a few pictures to show you how I did it.
I first printed out four giraffe's on yellow gingham but after thinking about it, I realised I needed two of them printed out on green gingham too.
I fixed the green gingham Gerry onto a white panel and then after turning the yellow image face down onto the palm of my hand, circled my finger round until the paper curved a little, then fixed it over the green Gerry using Pinflare silicon glue. I've used Woodware and Martha Stewart Lace and fern punches. The rest was from my stash.
Since I've taken these pictures I've added some Stickles glitter to the flowers, which you can see on the first card (betcha didn't notice!)

Now the font is a freebie, (Of course) you've probably got it as it's used widely in commercial cards and other places too. It's called Curlz Mt and you can down load it from HERE and also Here or just Google the name.
I'm hoping to add this card to a few challenges. I had a few in mind but as usual, have forgotten where! Note to self, right them down!!

A Little Puppy Love

I've just got back from Chicken and cat sitting again...and if I hadn't watched 'The Private Life of Chickens' the other night, I'd be very worried indeed about Sidney, and the umm, extra 'bits' she appears to have grown! But the story about Sidney can wait for another day...when I've got pictures!
Thought I'd make a quick card with one of my own little digi's for a change. I chose this little puppy dog, seeing he appears to be (so far) the favourite! He started life off carrying a slipper and then a chewed newspaper, but I swapped those for a birthday card. Of course this card didn't start off looking like it does now either. It started off with flowery paper, loads more flowers, some ribbons, glitter and a charm. But, well... they just didn't look right, not for a dog!

The acetate was cut out from a huge Easter egg box, which I saved just for this very moment. Sorry, I ate the chocolate egg some months ago. (And very nice it was too!)
I've still got the flowery version of this card (and with an acetate window) I'll probably stick a Tilda on it later and post it tomorrow, when I come back from another bout of cat and chicken sitting!!
The paper you can see through the acetate window is a Christmas Pink Petticoat one, but i don't think that matters!

I'm Seeing Pink Elephants!

Well, you can't have a 'Seeing Double' Challenge without pink elephants, can you!
This is my second DT card for OSAAT challenge. All you have to do, is make a card which has two of something on it, or you can even make two things that match!
I made this card on the same lines as the first card I made. (see Post below this one) I've used Elle Blowing Bubbles one of the many images you can find over on Lexi's Creations in the Stitchy Bear Stamp Store, (Don't forget there's a 'Bundle' Sale going on right now!) but I've made this card a little different.
I wanted something else on the front so it wasn't just a straight forward gate fold card, I wanted something that would make the images stand out more, so with this card, (also made using the freebie gingham, link on my side bar) I added a bit more to the 'gate' and made it a little longer, and then folded it so that..

...when you opened it...

...it would look like this...

Two elephants!

The image has been flipped again, (Free GIMP soft ware download) so the two little elephants can face each other, and just as I did with the cute giraffe, (see below post) I've paper pieced them but haven't decoupaged them this time. The extra colouring was done with Promaker pens.
I thought the little washing line just a cute idea and just drew the little clothes straight on to patterned paper, leaving little shoulder tags to act as 'pegs' and make it easier for them to stay glued to the washing line! (but I did lose a sock by the time I got outside to take the picture!)For the freebie link to the sentiment and font see post below! (cos I'm too lazy ~ and it's far too sunny to stay inside today!!)

OSAAT's Seeing Double Challenge

Another fabulous response to One Stitch At A Time's last weeks challenge! I'm beginning to think we need a top five, cos it's getting harder and harder to chose! This week's New Challenge over on OSAAT right now is...(a little tinkle on the old Joanna please Jim....)

Seeing Double!!

Now then, that doesn't been you have to rush off and finish off any left over wine first, it just means we simply we want to see two of some thing on your cards, well, at least that's what I think it means!
So, that's easy. I've done, two Giraffes, two panels, two lots of tiny hearts, two lots of Gingham papers, and a cuttlebug diecut square cut into quarters to make... um lots of corners.
So, here's my card. I've used two of Lexi's Creations found over in the Stitchy Bear Stamp Store, and don't forget there's a 'Bundle' Sale going on right now! (Bungle sale now finished)
This one's called Georgina Giraffe (although she's posing as George on my card today) I put her/him in my graphic programme (any simple one like My Craft Studio will do it too) and flipped her over to make two, identical twins!
I've used two slightly different sized blue Gingham papers (available as a freebie, the link is on my side bar) and as you can see by the picture, I've printed the Georgina 'twins' out twice as well, so I could do a little bit of paper piecing and 3D-ing. The extra shading was done using a Promaker pen.
The sentiment is a freebie, from a sheet of baby pictures, feet and words from Mad About Cards
I also couldn't make up my mind how to place the finished Giraffes and decided to fan them out a little bit, which actually lead to how I made the second card I did for this challenge.

Now then, where is the second card Lyn, you said two? Not here, it'll be here on another post in a little while cos my dinner's burning and the smoke alarms are going off!!
Poor hubby's not well (aw Bless) which is very rare so I'm cooking the Sunday Lunch. (he likes to live dangerously!!)
