Tinker Brown, Penny Black Shaker

In between chasing my fish and taking their pictures (they smiled...see below!!) I've been blog hopping. Have you been over to Tinker and Co yet? This is what I made with the lovely Freebie Papers. Aren't they great! They're called Vintage Dad, but I think they could be used for anyone or anything. Of course, I had to make another shaker card. Don't forget there's a tutorial at the bottom of the blog for those of you who think it's too fiddly. No it's not! It's easy! I teamed the papers up with a couple of Penny Black Stickeroos, some brads, a flower made with three, no four Woodaware punches and some lovely spotty brown ribbon from my stash. I also did some swirls with a glue pen and added some gold glitter. The Happy Birthday is a clear stamp from Papermania. I've added some tiny stars to the beads... wish I'd put more in now, but they kept rolling about! Now, as I said before, I've been blog hopping...and found two challenges one over on Saturday Challenge to include spots and stripes! Fancy that! And the other on Creative Card Crew for Pokadots. So I think I might enter this card into their challenges. Yes? Okay! The inside? oh yes...I made that with the odd bits left over and did a bit of doodling to make the squares look like pressies, then scanned the finished page, saved it to my computer so, when I'm in a hurry and in need of a brown insert to a card, I'll have one already made. Now then, this is between you and me...looking into my Crystal ball I can see into the future and sometime in August I will find another challenge blog for this card! The Challenge will to be to make a brown card for Dad and have some metal on it somewhere. Well...I thought (or will think) this is most definitely brown and those brads are metal and the papers are called Vintage Dad and I will be giving this card to my dad when it's his birthday, so, if you're reading this now wait til August and then pop over to Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges and join in! You've been forewarned so you'll have plenty of time to make a card!!
If you have scrolled down today, you'll find a 'Clip it' from Sylvia's blog, she's been playing with shrink plastic don't forget these 'clip its' are from other people's blogs (It's alright, I asked first!) and if you're feeling very energetic, and scroll a bit further down you'll see I've been awarded two Awards from the lovely Josefa Laura. Please pop over and see her lovely blog!
I was hoping I'd have time tonight to give out some Awards, but Fire Fox or was it Blogger (!?!) has already crashed once tonight, so I won't tempt fate! Be back tomorrow with the Awards! Right...I'm off to Saturday Challenge first! Thank you for stopping by!

A Quirky Challenge

I've just joined another forum, (oh no~ let's hide!) Quirky Crafts and provided I can remember where it is and the password...(since my laptop's come off sick leave, I've lost a lot of my passwords...)I'm thinking I might enter this Tilda in to one of their first challenges. I followed their sketch, which was really easy...(it didn't walk very fast) and used those K and Co papers I used further down the blog, K-Ology. They're growing on me...(no, not like bindweed, more in a papery sort of way) I love that mauve, and the green has mauve threadled ~oh alright, threaded ~ through it, but that doesn't show up in the photo. I put the lighter mauve through the the BigShot and embossed Happy Birthday all over it, using the Cuttlebug folder, punched out the flowers, with a Woodware punch and coloured Tilda with my (dad's ~ shhh! I've still got them) ProMarkers, then did that thing with the insert I did before, ran it through the scanner so I can re-use it, but this time missed out the Loony Lyn.
Internet was playing up again today, the lady in India suggested we 'turn the computer on...' so I'm late posting this, it's already tomorrow!
Oh before I shoot off to bed, a quick hello to two new followers! Yay! ((Wave)) Ellie who has some lovely blogs for you all to go-look-see and Gez who I found after doing a bit of blog hopping, really lovely Tilda card and yummy stuff to check out. Right ! That's me done! Good Night...sleep tight...I never did get what that meant.... z z z z z z z

The Same But Different

Just a quicky card I made while making the shaker Tilda card and the other Tilda card down below...(to see them you have to scroll down...use that lazy pointing finger, go on and scroll down..that's right...got to do some exercise after eating all that food yesterday! Actually I was very good, and waited for my lovely dinner cooked my Hubby John. We, the royal we, that is, had a short trip over to The Christchurch Food Festival yesterday afternoon, which has been going on all week. (I'll pop in pictures later...camera's gone walk about!)
Anyway, back to the card...almost the same as the one below...you can scroll down again if you wish! Same Tilda, almost, same Pink Petticoat papers and coloured in with the same Whisper pens...see if you can spot the difference! Think I've gone a bit over the top with my black pen again though. This stamp is definitely on my wish list, it's so cute.
The 'Just for You' stamp was done with StazOn Jet Black ink this time, with clear embossing power/ heat gun, but I added an eyelet too, using my Crop-a-dile. Also added a bit more fibre...always need fibre! (Actually I think that might be fiber) The flower is the same as on the Shaker card...the other card has punched out paper flowers, (well done Gina for spotting that! and Tilda has a blue hat here and an all pink hat in the other pic!) oh I can see you can't be bothered scrolling down...well, it's a bit warm today, isn't it! Here's a 'group' picture of all three cards...say cheese!

A Bloggy Challenge

Hi everyone (she sez thinking someone might answer) well, you never know. (At this point the door bell chimes. Some young boy, trying to sell double glazing, etc etc...a kind of hint that the garden needs attention and the windows and gutters could do with a clean! because they always knock on the door where they think they might, just might get a sale...no chance here though! I'm really behind with my makes because of the dog sitting...not that I actually sit on the dogs, but you know what I mean. Their owners are now home from their trip to Istanbul. Lovely.
I made this card for a challenge...but for the life of me can't remember where or when. I sometimes wish my brain was a tiny bit bigger. Hubby, says it's ok as it is...any more active braincells, and I'd be dangerous!
I coloured Tilda in with Whisper Pens, added a bit of micro glitter and because she was a forum swap and not too 'clear' I added a bit more detail with my black pen. All the papers are Pink Petticoat and the stamp 'Just For You' was a Papermania freebie with the do-crafts Creativity Magazine. I used Color Box Petal Point 'Dusty Plum' on that, (which I also used to edge the paper) and a bit of clear embossing power and my heat gun.
Ah! I think I've now found the challenge over on Creative Inspirations, here's the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by... pop back soon... bring cake and sandwiches... me and hubby are off to Christchurch this afternoon... there's a cooking festival on. Hubby loves cooking!

Little Topper Shaker

The Little Topper shaker, which I made a couple of weeks ago, is now, on a card. Hmmm, not tooo sure about it. I've used the freeby backing paper by artist, designer, Nel Whatmore again. (Free with Quick Cards made Easy a few weeks ago) The spider's inside the window are of course, Pink Petticoat's Happy Haunting. Aren't they just too cute! (The little girl spiders have pink bows!) The typed circle was done on my laptop and printed onto glossy photo paper, coloured with my one and only permanent Promaker, (magenta) and then punched out with a Woodware punch. I did a 'How to type in circles' a little while ago on the TrimCraft Forum. Now bare with me! I'll try to put a link here to that, as, because I'm dyslexic and find not only spelling very hard, but remembering how to do some thing VERY hard too! I'm never really sure on how I should explain some thing, because most of you out there are really experts and brilliant crafters but there's a few, who like me, find even the basics pretty baffling! (I can make a link now! Nah-ne nah-ne-na-na!!) because the more you write the harder it is to understand! Do I start with, "Turn your computer on...?" or as I did on the forum..."Open Word" After typing out as simply as I could on how to type in circles, someone emailed me and asked..."Where's Word?" O-kay....(It's so nice to know I'm not alone!) But then Hubby told me, not every computer comes equipped with 'Word'. Now...where did I get too? Oh yes...the little 'buttons' on the card are Clear Stamps by Papermania, also coloured with the same Promaker. That's is for now, catch you later...oh! and a very warm welcome to Eiglas, Michwot and Queenie!

Party Tilda Shaker Card

After a few, a couple, maybe one person asked me how I did my shaker cards, I was going to be all clever and do one of those picture tutorials, using this card...I got right to the end, when my camera died a death. Flat Batteries. (Bother... although I didn't actually say, bother.) The photo down there was taken when I was wondering what to put in that blank spot on the left. Some black feathered wool? Another Stickeroo? A big purple glitter flower? After much pondering I decided on the silver and white glitter flower. (Which was recycled from a gift bag I had some yummy non-crafty goodies in for my birthday) The 'Party Time' and the 'Happy Birthday'stamps are from Papermania (Claire Curd's Signature Range) The little hedgehog is a Penny Black Stickeroo. Tilda was coloured in with Aqua Promaker pens and a paint brush.
I will have a go at doing a picture tutorial, but next time I'll make sure my batteries are fully charged! (That's the camera's batteries of course...not mine!)
