It's A Quirky Small World!

It's that Quirky Time again and a new challenge has started over on the challenge blog. Pop over and see what we've all been up to!!
It's Monica's turn to set the theme this fortnight and she has chosen...

 "It's a Small Quirky World"
Monica would like to see different places of The World represented in your projects! Perhaps somewhere where you'd like to go, or where you've been!
This time we are sponsored by Paper Pretties and Samiflora ( facebook link)
I've done something different (for me) I've made a digital scrapbook page using  my own pictures from a weekend away in Paris, to see the Monet Gardens and of course the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France with hubby and my mum and dad. It turned out to be our very last trip away together. It's probably my third try at doing a digital scrap page... not too bad I think, and it saves ink and paper!!
First I hunted out the papers. I knew I had them saved somewhere on my computer, but, sieve head me, couldn't find them. Luckily I'd printed them out years ago!  I think they were freebies  from 2 peas  with the 2006 new letter! Anyway,I re-scanned them in so I could make them PNG  and then sorted out some photos; a river trip, views of Paris, The Monet gardens and  Me, Mum and dad with the Tower in the back ground. (John took the picture) The tag and the stitched Eiffel Tower are part of the same set.

I printed and coloured the little  Merci Beaucoup French Poodle from our sponsors, Paper Pretties. It was a last minute decision to go with Mum and dad,  (Coach trip through the Channel Tunnel) I'll always be thankful we did! This little Thank You poodle fitted in very well!
Right....any Trekker geeks out there who can spot the Star Trek link??? No? It's the sentiment...'We'll Always Have Paris' it's the name of episode 23 in season 1. (It's about time travel so it's always stuck in my mind!)
The Font I've used there is a freebie, it's called Fontdiner dotcomluvable download HERE
I'm not here at the moment but later  hope to add this  scrap page to some...

Loads of Quirky Snow and Layers!

New Challenge has started over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog. It's my turn to set the theme and I want to see you......
"Layer it Up and Let It Snow!"
So, just use lots of layers in any way you'd like but!! Don't forget to add some snow!! Easy!
Here's my card, which took a fortnight to make (I'm sooo slow!) I've made it 8x8 by joining two bits of green card together, then adding, red card, silver miri card, patterned paper and then a topper of silver miri card, patterned paper and the digi printed out over my own 'Snowy Sky' back ground. You'll  find it HERE. The two digi's I've used are by Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon who is one of our sponsors this time round, along with the Cutting Cafe and Crafty Ribbons!!
I've played with the digi's in My Craft Studio (as Word was being a pain!) and moved them about so it looks as though Monkey is helping Dudley build a snowman. There's about three or four layers on the topper after cutting off bits of ear, nostril, leg, body, tail, and bobbles from their hats!
The backing papers on the front are by Papermania, 'Home for Christmas' 6x6 nice and thick at a 180gsm, there's ribbon to match. I bought mine half price from Trago Mills when we were down in Cornwall. The papers on the inside had to be a bit bigger so I've used 8x8 Joyeux Noel also by PaperMania, @ 160gsm.
The font is a freebie, it's called  One Starry Night and you can find that HERE  I printed it in WordArt, and filled in with red, with a slightly darker red outline, but I doubt you can see that.
The 'Merry' was from a set of blank grey cardboard letters, which I've never used coz there's never the right about of letters in the packet!  Luckily there was one Y and two R's!  I coloured them with a Poppy Red Promarker, smeared with clear embossing ink, dipped into clear embossing powder and zapped with my heat gun, then fixed to the card with silicon glue with added Stickles glitter. The embossed snow flakes behind the letters I made using a snowflake embosser free from a crafty magazine! And I rather like it! (wish it was a bit longer)
The big silver snowflake I think came from a Let's Make Cards Mag, the only one I bought, many years ago. I've finished with silver peel off snowflakes, and added black and Icicle Stickles Glitter. The die-cut 'Snowflake' corner is by Memory Box. Phew, think that's covered it!
Sorry if there's different sized lettering...blogger seems to type everything in 'small' even though I've told it to write in 'normal'...and I've had to go into the Html and type in 'normal' a trillion times!!Thanks you for stopping by! Hoping to add a few...

It's A Magical Quirky Moment!

Evening! It's time for Quirky Craft's to have another challenge!! Thank you to everyone who joined in the last one. Loved your monsters!  This time it's Diane's turn to set the theme and she wants to see something...
 Magical!
so we'd like to see, Fairies, Wizards, any Magical Creature you can think of ! AND!!  just to make it a bit harder...
Stars, Glitter and Silver on your entries!
Very important, because if Diane can't see stars, glitter or silver on your creation, it won't be counted!!
This week we are sponsored by...
Here's my first card.  I've used one of my favourite  Stitchy Bear images The SteamPunk Fairy. Coloured her with mostly lilac and lavender Promarkers, Used bits of my Memory Die-cut, PinkPetticoat starry backing paper, black and silver card candi,   purple gems, mirco glitter on her wings, stickles glitter on the edges of the ribbons and the papers, black card, silver miri board and black and purple ribbon!
The Font on the front is called Spinstee and the font on the inside of the card is calledKnight Templar.

My second card, I've used a wizard cat from Stitchy bear's  Jacare's Halloween Bundle HERE
I'm really not too happy with how this one turned out! Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The Promarkers bled over the lines, the glue made the silver board frizzle up. The ink ran out on the pumpkin papers and I dropped the micro glitter, so it covered  the whole card! And...I should've added some black to the card at the beginning, but forgot and it really does need more black... I think I might do it again! (better!)
I did a bit of silver embossing on black card with  stamp and ink (haven't done any stamping for ages!) for the corner embellishment, but all papers  and fonts are the same as above. I'm not here at the moment, so this is on timer. Please excuse any woobleness wobbliness and spelling mistakes. The new blogger format is really rubbish! The pictures jump all over the place! Thank you for stopping by. Hoping to add this Fairy card into a few...

Monsterous! Quirky's Been Bugged By A Pike!

I know, how do I think up these titles?!? It's easy. Add Monsters, Sponsored by Bugaboo and Dustin Pike and you've got Quirky Crafts New Challenge! Cazzy is setting the theme this time and she wants to see...
Monsters!!!!
And as I said, Bugaboo and Dustin are our sponsors this time. Bugaboo are offering our winner 7 Digi's of their choice from their Bugaboo Store. And Dustin is offering $10 to spend in his Doodle Dragon Studios store! Here's my Bugaboo card. My Dustin Monster card is coming up in the next post!
I've used,
on the outside of the card, Birthday-Monster-Sign. And on the inside of the card, Birthday-Monster-Balloon pop over and see all the other monsters! Don't you think they'd make great place setting for a Monster Party!?!
As almost always, I've 3D-ed the monster and coloured him with Promarkers. First added the whole digi, then just the 'Happy' with the monsters fist attached, then the monster's face and last the blue balloon in front.
The papers were freebies with a crafting magazine a while back, the spotty ribbon also came from a crafty mag, everything else from my crafty stash. The stripy paper has been embossed with a Happy Birthday embossing folder. I added the yellow paper clip because it just happened to be to hand and matched those tiny brad buttons!
Inside, The Font is a freebie, although a few sites do charge, it's called Curlz MT, and you can download HERE for free.
Well, that's it! Click over to Quirky Crafts Challenge blog and join in!! I'm not here for most of the week, so apologies for not answering email, although I will have my laptop with me (it's surgically attached to my hip!) I may not have internet connection... and if I do it's £5 per half hour!!!! Seeing what happened after I used Hubby's dongle last time, (Google closed my email and blog down thinking I'd been invaded by aliens from Saudi Arabia or Russia) I probably won't use it ever again! Nah, Hmmm... can I see me using it anyway! Look out for the next Quirky DT card coming up using seven of Dustin's Monster's!! Thank you for stopping by...Will try and add some...
