Hoppy (very) Belated Birthday, Tom.

 

Actually, I've missed out posting loads of birthday cards this year...by the time I catch up and blog about them, their owners will all be a year older!  Still, never mind, got to start somewhere, soooo, this is a very quick card for sil Tom. It's a tri-fold card that, if you stick the middle bit into a pocket, it makes a secret place to add birthday money or a money card. 

I have made this type before, and the fact, that very card (using one of Dustin Pikes freebies from waaaaay back) fell out of a box where I've been crafting lately (in the kitchen) made me have another go at it. Well, why not! I even found the same cake, although I had to colour it this time and I used a Penny Black frog, instead of a dragon, There's a splash of  Glossy Accents under his feet to make it look like he's jumping in a puddle.

 

 

I also made an envelope for it using my We R Memory punch board. That's it for now. Sorry there's been no freebies, but I am in the middle of drawing some Toad Stools... More coming up on...Harry Potter...and Maisie lost in the Maze/rapeseed field for thirty six hours! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Emma! With A FlipFlap Card!

 It's my eldest daughter's Birthday Today! Happy Birthday Emma! So of course I've spent the last month, well-nearly, making her a Birthday card. I've been having a go at doing a Flap Flap card  and watched Sam Calcott's YouTube tuturial. Third time I followed the 6x6 how to, and got it right!  ...these two pages flip out. I was going to add a stamped 'Cheers' and a 'Happy Birhday" but chickened out because I just knew I'd smudge it if I did! The papers are from TrimCraft, now called Craft Lable, ButterFly Kisses, I bought the bundle a while back which included loads of other things, including the topper, gems and flower, which I've added here. (plus buttons, pegs, gems, flowers, butterfly sequins, wooden butterflies etc) The 'happy day' sentiment is wooden and coloured with a Promarker. The little B is a diecut. (all Die cuts used were from 'The Works') The stamped Penny Black images, from my stash were also coloured with ProMarkers. (bought them from a crafty charity shop and this is the first time I've used them!)

  

 On the inside of the card, I  later added a lilac miri card 'Happy Birthday' circle with a balloon. (Seen in the video, link above) Then on the back I added a topper and some party sequins. To finish, I added a Wink of Stella on the Pussy Cats.

Just One More Snowman

 

 Another 'Snowy' from PennyBlack, coloured in Promarkers and one of the last Christmas cards, I thought lost and then found again, forever hiden in the jumble of 'stuff' that fills my craft space, hall, living room, and the bed in the spare room!

Snowy was already coloured in his purple hat and scarf when I found him down the back of my bench. Spiders removed, I recoloured and resparkled him with silver and gold Stickles. He was already mounted on a scalloped diecut retangle. The ponsetti's were the last in a packet from years back, as was the bits of red mirror card and bakers swine. The snowflake was left over from another project, although this time it hasn't been embossed, it's just plain ol' paper. Both the Christmas papers (inside and out) were from 'The Works'. I like the way Snowy peeps around the extra bit of  topper, as though he'd been hiding, which when I think about it, he was! thank you for stopping by!  Hoping to find some....

Happy Birthday Mum!

Happy Birthday Mum! Yay, yes it's my mum's birthday today. I won't tell you how old she is. (She might thump me!)
You may remember a card like this from waaay back...(no, don't be silly, of course we don't) for once, I'd made a card in advance but then forgot where I'd put it! So ended up making another one.

This card's now been found and finished, so I thought I'd post it again with it's added extras. I've also added an inside too, (with a Penny Black Stickeroo) just so I can link you to the freebie Font. It's called AL Serenade and you can download it HERE.
I've used Forever Friends papers, a 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder and loads of Stickles glitter.

Take It Easy, Card For Dad

Wouldn't we all like to, take it easy, that is. Swinging about in a hammock all day. My Dad always wanted a hammock, now he has one, he says, 'I can't get in the flippin' thing now, without falling out the other side!' So of course, this card will be put by for him, probably Fathers Day (in June) as his birthday isn't until November, and it's a bit cold in November to be swinging about in a hammock! I've left the sentiment simple so I can change them if need be!

The Penny Black image was stamped and embossed, coloured with Promakers and I've done a bit of 3D-ing too. The papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat, (the stripes) and My Minds Eye. (both came free with magazines) The key and key-hole are brads. They're by Woodware. Bit disappointed they didn't include hinges too! Or perhaps they do in another set. The font is a Freebie, it's called GoodDog and you can download it HERE where you'll find two downloads, one with extra dots! (GoodDog Cool)

A bit of a sad day today Frog the Cat passed away. She would've been 19 in September.

Another Christmas Card

I forgot all about this one, so here it is... Very simple, using those three little (almost drunken) Snowmen again! Not quite done in the same way. I've still 3D-ed them but have cut round both images (so there's no fiddly bits) fixed the first image over the pale blue snowflake backing paper (Forever Friends) leaving on enough paper to act as the 'snow' at the bottom and then fixed the other image over the top using silicone glue. Coloured them with Promakers, added micro and Stickles glitter and lines of that Liquid Applique, which fluffs up when you zap it with the heat gun! I've used, MS fern punch and for the snowflakes and holly, Woodware punches. I've added a few tiny gem stones too.

Tom & Emma's Christmas Card

Happy Christmas Eve every one! Now that Tom and Emma have received their Christmas card, I guess it's okay to show it to you! I've used Pink Petticoat Papers all in Ocean, which is a sort of a pale blue. I printed out some swirls, stars and just plain blue, which is nice, so it all matches.

The three little snowmen, I'm sure are Penny Black, were a RAC some time ago. (It's surprising what I can find when I'm looking for something else!)

I've used a 3D effect. Fast becoming my favourite way of doing things. Coloured one image, then cut out another and fixed it over the top of the first, so you still get all the fiddly bits without having to cut round them.
I place the second image face down in the palm of my hand and then just swirl a finger round and round (or use a large balled embossing tool) until the paper/card curls a little. Then just fix it over the first image with silicone glue.
I've used a cuttlebug die cut for one corner, using the same colour to keep it matching. Coloured the snowman images using Promakers and added micro fine glitter everywhere it would stick!

For the scalloped circles I've used a large 3" Woodware punch and the largest Nestie scalloped circle. The flowers, gems, snowflakes, pearls, ribbon are all from stash. Fern leaves, are of course a Martha Steward punch. The inside message was done on the computer. It's called Handscript SF and can be downloaded for free HERE

It's Snowy!

Well, it is! (Snowy) I haven't used Snowy for ages, and he is my favourite Penny Black Christmas Stamp. (which came all the way from America!)
Here he's been paper pieced using the same polka dot paper as the card, but printed out smaller. All the paper is from Pink Petticoat's Vintage Rose.
Yes, I know, I keep using it, but it's very pretty and easy to use for any occasion, so it appears! The little snow flakes fixed over the glitter snowflakes are actually buttons, with the backs snipped off, they were from the States too.

I took a few pictures as I made this card, just in case someone might want to know!
I printed out a small square of the polka dots and stamped over it. Then cut out the scarf and a bit of Snowy's hat and fixed

them over him. I coloured Snowy with Promakers (mainly blue!) Cut out the scalloped circle using Nesties, run it through the Bigshot in a cuttlebug Christmasy folder, then stamped it.
It doesn't matter if the stamp doesn't work too well (as all you want are the fiddly bits you've cut off.
I then fixed Snowy on the die cut using Pin-Flare glue, but any silicone glue or 3D foam pads will do the job and then added a bit of Stickles glitter.
The white ribbon I got from a local store. (none left now, the last scrap!!) That was put through one of those X shaped sticker makers. I always put another strip of ribbon through at the same time, so not to waste any of it. Meanwhile, I'd added a bit of paper frill, using my MS Punch and made some small tags as the other paper I've used has words on it. (especially for you) I also punched out, Snow Flakes, tiny flowers and ovals using Woodward punches.
The little stamped sentiment I bought over in USA last year as well, it was part of a set of 6 tiny clear stamps and cost $1 in Ben Franklin Crafts. (wish we had a craft shop like that!)
I've never used it til now and didn't want it to look too black, so just 'touched' the paper with it.
There is a few Challenges I spied while making this so I'm off to find my note book! Yes, I wrote them down,!

A Hedgehog Flower Shaker Card

I thought I'd make a shaker card, but this time, instead of just tiny beads, I punched out some tiny flowers to put inside the shaker window as well. (Note to self. Make sure the glue has dried before you shake the card)I've used Penny Black stamp, 'Hedgehog Bouquet', which I've only had a few weeks and this is the first time I've used it. Coloured the image with Promarker pens.
All the paper and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose, very pretty, this is the first time I've used it too. I made the flowers using two Woodware punches and added some Stickles Glitter. The little heart?? First, I cleaned an empty glue tube, flatten it out, embossed it using a cuttlebug folder and cut out the heart shape with a Sizzix die-cut. (Run it through my BigShot. See WOYWW Post and before picture here) I still think it needs something else. A  little Stickeroo maybe?
Now then, I was very good and wrote down some challenges, which I had in mind when I made this card, one was to use something recycled and another was to use acetate. I had a little note book and everything, because I knew I'd lose a list, but of course I've mislaid the notebook, and forgotten the challenges. (Typical me)Meanwhile, (back at the ranch) I've been playing 'out the back' on blogger, where all the business goes on, and I had no idea there was a comment moderator thingiemejig, and there were a few comments waiting there to be published, they were comments made this month but on older posts. Now, I think I must have pressed a button somewhere, after I had all that Chinese spam, they always go back to old posts and add loads of comments. It takes an age to delete them, and what's the point, I can't read Chinese! But it's nice to know you can stop people commenting on old posts if you want to! (Update: I've now found the comment regulator for older post comments where you can delete with one tick!)

Still Spring Cleaning: Penny Black Cats

I love this Penny Black image, it's on my wish list. Luckily I have a few left from a forum swap. The card on your left is covered with Pink Petticoat papers. I don't think the paws were rub ons...think I punched out the paw shape and then used it as a stencil. Wording was done on the computer.
The 'orange' card on your right, I think was covered with do-craft Easter paper...or maybe the love one...I'll go check! It's the Love Colossal Paper pack by Papermania.
Next we're back to my old favourite again. This 'pink' card is covered in Pink Petticoat paper, even the 'ribbon' is paper. The flowers were printed onto glossy photo paper and cut out using Woodware punches. Metallic paint was used to paint the balloons and there's a bit of silver mesh behind the pussy cat... He does look as though he's really ready for a party, doesn't he!
I've been asked what pens I use to edge some of my cards. (I feel they seem a bit 'naked' without some edging!) I have four black Fineliners by
Staedtler, from 0.1mm up to 0.7mm and one Pilot drawing pen 0.8mm.

Thought I'd better find an Easter Card as I still haven't made one yet! I was in the middle of making four birthday Cards and some forum swaps, when I suddenly remembered (oops!) It's our Wedding Anniversary on Sunday! How many years??? Quite a few...and a bit more!
I just can't think what to do card wise...pink and frilly? Nah... cute and cuddly ...mmm... so for now...here's a few Easter Cards I've brought up from the bottom...(which in time I'll remove ~that's the blog's bottom, not mine! ) because you can't really see them down there. The papers are Mad About Cards Freeby down loads and the Penny Black image was a swap from a forum buddy. Balloons: Rainbow Lady's Challenge 53

Thought I might enter this into Rainbow Lady's challenge, the card is on my blog somewhere down at the bottom, in the days, (a few weeks ago) when I wasn't sure where to put things! The Challenge has to have a Balloon...seeing that most of my Penny Blacks have balloons I thought this challenge was calling to me!!
My favourite Penny Black Image with the hedgehogs racing to the party. I used watercolour paints this time and the image was stamped on to cartridge paper. A bit of cuttlebug embossing and of course, stickles glitter! (Gotta have a bit a Stickles!) The words were done on my lap top. I made the card for a forum friend and of course, it was a little late!

Pink Elephant Blog Challenge #7

I treated myself to some Daisy and Dandelion clear stamps and papers with some of my birthday money. Also bought some 3D decoupage, but haven't used that yet, instead I stamped 'Bubbles' out twice and then layered him. I'd cut about an inch off the front of the card as I wanted to used the flowery paper as well as the dots, but there's only one sheet of each in the packet, so added the acetate so you could see both and so that I could add the 'Happy Birthday' Peel-offs down the side too. (Bargin at 25p!) I used Bazzill Basics Paper 'Red Carpet' through my BigShot in a CuttleBug embosser, as that was part of the challenge, then used a small Woodware punch for the flowers and finished off with Stickles glitter. Not sure where the ribbon came from, probably the local Craft Shop. (or a box of chocolates)

I thought I might enter him into a Blog Challenge. That's where the idea came from...but I can't quite make up my mind!
So...
I made another one! Trouble is the card would have been really small if I'd just stuck to the size of the embossed Paper.
The papers I used here were a bargain. 12 sheets of 12x12, two of each design for 1.99. I cut an extra butterfly out otherwise he would've been hidden by the embossed paper. I coloured the folder with chalk, just to see what would happen... (I'd seen it on a YouTube video, think I may not have done it quite right but it sort of worked, it's hard to see in the photo. Wellllllll.... while I've been typing this I think I might enter the top card into the Pink Elephant #7 Challenge.
