Happy Birthday Darling Hubby, John!

Well, he is my rock, only far better than a rock. (he does the cooking!) He was up so early this morning he didn't have time to open any of his cards... never mind, he'll be too busy to sneak in here and peek! This is the card I made him. Both of us had motorbikes and we used to have a motor-bike shop.
When the girls  were babies, we lived over it, but the need for a garden and smell of engine oil drifting up into all the rooms soon made us jump onto the mortgage boat, and buy our own little home, with a tiny garden and a little later to where we are now. No more bikes, but John's only got to sniff the sight of one, and I know he misses them!
Back to the card. KennyK image. (Yes I bought this one back in March BUT It's now the June Freebie HERE! left sidebar when you get there) First I was going to do that acetate thing I did with the seahorses, but it didn't quite work out, (Flip the digi and then stick the two together, and print it out on acetate too, and then fix that together ~but I forgot to put a cord/thread through the middle to attach it to the card~ so did this version of a sort of gate fold instead, but not.
It's a bit top heavy as it's an 8x8 card, with a 5 and a half x 5 and a half  card used as the topper (Why isn't there a half sign on the keyboard?) so I've added acetate to the bottom of the smaller card topper to help stabilise it.
We used to go and watch bike scrambling, (more skilful!) not Dirt Bike racing, but never mind!
I couldn't think of what papers to use, so didn't! Just black, yellow and red card, and a bit of embossing, and die cutting (only my old Bigshot wasted loads of scraps of card, by not cutting! Grrrr)  One of the inside embossing was made using a freebie folder, which came in this months Simply Cards and Papercraft, which also came with some stamps too!
Of course I've coloured up with ProMarkers (with the tiny tip addition...the metal tip ones work far better, the others didn't work at all, but Letraset kindly send me replacements awhile back!) Did hunt the internet for a coloured picture of this, to give me some idea of what was what, but could only find a very small one, in mostly grey, so, went with yellow and red instead.
There's a little D attachment, to the side of the top card, which I bought in a gardening store, 3p each, can't be bad! and the 'manly' cord ribbon came off a bosh carrier bag!
Freebie Fonts: I've used Cool Dots and Smarty Pants BTN  there's the link to download, or just google the names. That's it I think! Happy Birthday John, see you later! Hope to add this to same...

Happy Birthday John

Happy Birthday John! No, I won't tell you how old he is, but dinosaurs didn't walk the earth when he was born! (and it might give away my age too!)
Okay, it's not a very romantic card to make for your husband but it is cute though, isn't it?! (I mean the monkey...ok, so's John too) A Dustin Pike already coloured PDF Decoupaged Monkey freebie available here.
If I remember rightly the big leaves background papers were from Dustin too.
All I did was print everything onto 250gsm Photo glossy inkjet paper, cut it out and fixed together using silicone glue, all except the pom-pom on his hat, where I used a tiny 3D foam pad.
For the backing paper I just cut off the white waste around the edges and folded it in half to make the card, printed it again on paper for the insert then added the little picture of the smaller completed monkey to the inside. The cake is also a freebie DP image. Found Here!
Today we're meant to be having a BBQ, but of course it's raining. John has a new shiny gas BBQ and a new awning ...so that can only mean one thing! The Summer's over folks! I have a few challenges but will have to add them later as I'd better have a tidy up!!
Remember the my Help with links post??? Just have a look at how many links under the comments on Dustin's Post... there's even a few links from blogs that haven't blogged in years, but there's still no Spyder's Corner, and I've been over at least ten times. I will find that magic button one day!! Bye For Now!

Happy Birthday John

Hi everyone! We're back from the depths of Cornwall, sheep, Pasties, caravans, tents, cow pats and scrumpy...oh yes...and Pixies. Mustn't forget the Pixies. It's a little known fact that Cornish Pasties, are in fact made from Pixies.. .but we won't go there now...I have another little treat for you coming up very soon, if not sooner, some pics from Devon and Cornwall and a video, of me and yours truley making our way to the pub in Polperro. But for now I thought I'd just post John's Birthday card. What d'think? It's one of them 'Flippin' Men' cards. I drew the background myself, it's supposed to be our garden. I coloured it in using Whisper pens...and if you stay tuned, I'll put in a link at the bottom of this post to John actually cooking something yummy in our garden. 'Fraid I wouldn't let him wear his pinny though, as it's ummm...(she whispers) Michelangelo's David... yes well, less said, I think! What? You want a link to that!? Oh okay then..
I made a bit of a booby on this card, can you see? I used my Xyron 510 with permanent adhesive and of course once I started sticking down the back it didn't line up with the front. Any other glue would've been fine...still I don't think it looks too bad. I've added Emma's card to her dad down at the bottom, cute little monkey! Anyway, it's nice to be back!! Can't wait to pop over and see what you've all been doing!! But before I go, I want to welcome two new followers to Spyder's Corner. First Jilleebee! Hi Jilleebee, who's hiding out of sight with no picture. (Thinking I wouldn't spot you, I bet!) How are you getting on with those Inchies!!? Jilleebee found me in my Photobucket. Hurry up and build your blog and I'll put a link in, I wanna to see those Inchies!! Also, a big (((wave)) to Tanja. Pop over and see some lovely cards,~ I like the Dustin Pike's Monkey~ over on Tanja's Bastelwelt
Back later with pic's from Cornwall...and the video link...I can tell you can't wait!
Okay, here it is....John's cookery lesson, now you'll see why I made the card I did! (I think he thinks he's Jamie Oliver!!) In the Kitchen Part 1 and in the Garden part 2 In the Garden part 3...don't laugh!
