Another Tri-fold For Tom's Birthday!

It's Tom's Birthday tomorrow (Friday) so of course I've made him a tri-fold card using my (old) Ultimate Crafter's Companion. He's such a big kid and he likes teddy bears, so I've made him a card using this Dustin Pike Birthday Bear. Yes, I know it's very much like the one I made for Dustin's Challenge last week ( I won!!) but if you're on a roll, I say, keep going! So, another tri-fold card with the back fixed to make a pocket so I could add a tag.
This time I used a green, not hammered card but one that had a 'hammery' look about it. Used a mixture of green gingham papers,which were both free,. One with Paper Craft Essentials Magazine this month in a paper stack and one you'll find HERE.
I've added mock stitching, two of Dustin's digi's, the bear and the cake. I've 3D-ed the balloons, the bears head, his hand holding the cake and the front of the box he's sitting in. Added a frog button I brought back with me from USA, probably from Ben Franklin along with the little car brad and my Nestabilities 'Classic Scalloped Circles Large, which I used inside the card. I haven't got one of those 'embossing' mats, so I use a bit of thick card, it works just the same.

The bottom font inside the card and used on the tag, is called 1942 report. Looks like I've used an old typewriter. You can download it for free, HERE

I didn't have green candi, so I coloured them with a Promarker, and because they were made with pearl card they've stayed shimmery.
I know this is for Tom ...but I actually made this card with Top Tip Tuesday's latest Challenge in mind. One for the Kids. I'll add my Tuesday tip as well! Like killing two stones with one bird! The tag says, 'This entitles you to one Birthday surprise!'
Well, before we've sent him off to race cars round a racing track, canoeing, a Monty Python 'Spamalot show because he didn't think he could manage the archery we'd fixed up as he'd hurt his shoulder. Unknown to us he was already very good at archery and has since taken it up again. So this year we thought how about bungee jumping? hahaha...no.... not that...I'll tell you later, otherwise it won't be a surprise!

Another 'I'm Late!' Quirky Card!

 

 

Oh My Goodiness! It'll soon be time for a 500 followers freebie!! (Blogger keeps changing his mind tho, he's not very good at counting) In the meantime, I forgot all about showing you that other DT card I did for lQuirky Crafts last week! Here it is. We're doing Alice In Wonderland and there's still a whole week left to join in. Anything connected to The story would be fabulous! I've used this cute birthday bunny (white Rabbit, un-birthday cake) from our sponsorsThe Stamping Boutique 

I've done a bit of 3D-ing, used my nesties to cut out the first bunny with it's background and fixed another bunny over the top. So that's two bunnies, and if you blink there'll probably be another two! (bunnies are like that!) I've coloured him with ProMarkers.

Freebies! The backing paper's I've used are called 'Time For Tea' They were free with Quick Cards Made Easy last year (years back) but you can download them from CardMaking & PaperCraft download page, now called Gather. There's teapots and cake, just right for A Very Merry UnBirthday.

I printed these out on 160gsm white paper, with my printer running out of ink, and they still turned out really nice I think! The flower was printed on thinner paper and crunched up. I did the sentiment on the computer. (You can never have too much cake!) The font is a freebie too. (The ink just about gave out!) I'm sure I've already linked it. It's called Pea Faye. I'm sure you'll find it if you google the name. You'll love it, as the brackets make these funny little bee's and the $ sign is a happy face and I think the + is a heart. A Little Puppy Love

I've just got back from Chicken and cat sitting again...and if I hadn't watched 'The Private Life of Chickens' the other night, I'd be very worried indeed about Sidney, and the umm, extra 'bits' she appears to have grown! But the story about Sidney can wait for another day...when I've got pictures!
Thought I'd make a quick card with one of my own little digi's for a change. I chose this little puppy dog, seeing he appears to be (so far) the favourite! He started life off carrying a slipper and then a chewed newspaper, but I swapped those for a birthday card. Of course this card didn't start off looking like it does now either. It started off with flowery paper, loads more flowers, some ribbons, glitter and a charm. But, well... they just didn't look right, not for a dog!

The acetate was cut out from a huge Easter egg box, which I saved just for this very moment. Sorry, I ate the chocolate egg some months ago. (And very nice it was too!)
I've still got the flowery version of this card (and with an acetate window) I'll probably stick a Tilda on it later and post it tomorrow, when I come back from another bout of cat and chicken sitting!!
The paper you can see through the acetate window is a Christmas Pink Petticoat one, but i don't think that matters!

Very Late Birthday Card!

I'm being a bit sneaky here, posting this card on 'Monday' when it's really Tuesday, because I was sooo busy doing horrible housey tidying up things on Monday (and going to work) that I couldn't do any posting. I made this card for a forum buddy, one of the many who had a birthday while I was away. I haven't posted it to her yet because...don't laugh, I had to post off some Inchies I did for a forum swap and guess what?? I posted the STAMPS for the cards I had with me, in with the Inchies and didn't have enough money on me to buy more!! So...um Jackie...when you get my Inchies, can you post back my stamps with my swaps?? Of course, there is a possibility I didn't put them in with the Inchies and someone in the post Office has them...I wish I didn't have such a small brain!! I was put off and in a bit of a panicky mood because my car, not being used for the past few weeks, decided to stop in the middle of the road and would not budge! And when I finally got it started again it wouldn't go into gear! It would go into reverse, much to the dismay of the driver behind me! I guess it's paying me back. You see, when I first opened it, a few days after we got back from the States, there was about 4" of rain water covering the floor! Ducks could've moved in! Sigh! Oh well...I guess the inside could've done with a wash!
I've used Pink Petticoat papers, a Dandelion Stamped image, coloured with ProMakers. A Nesties die cut and a Martha Stewart lace punch..(Love it!!) Oho I wonder if I could enter this over on Die Cuts Challenge Blog? What d'think? Worth a try!?! No!! Silly me, it's for Christmas cards this week!! Do you think anyone will notice! I was doing a Christmas a card earlier and still had it on my mind! See, told you I had a small brain!!

A Back to 'Skool' Card For Oscar

Evening Everyone! And a Happy First of September! Just a quickie post tonight, no, honest! Thank you all so much for your kind words yesterday! It's really given me loads more confidence!! So much so, I've already made my card for my first challenge as a DT member! Which is really odd. Me, not only being on time but actually finishing something days before it's needed!! That can only mean one thing or possibly two...1 I'm not me, and someone's snuck in, in the dead of night and is impersonating me or, 2 I'm probably suffering from some kind of dreaded lurgie, as I'm NEVER on time for anything!! In fact, I've been sooo late going to bed some nights I've met myself getting up! (Oh...yeah, that was a mirror image..oho...sooo scary!!) and 3, Aliens paid me a visit again... (It's ok, I am me, I could never count!)
I made this card over the weekend. Tom my son-in-law, had asked me to make a card for little Oscar (a friends little boy, who's a bit like a nephew to him) who will be starting 'big' school next week. Easy I thought, as I knew I had some back to school type papers in my ScrapGirls (the tag) or Scrapwow folders somewhere but then Tom added, 'Can we have a little hedgehog on the front with a little rucksack on his back, carrying an apple?'
So, all last week I was pondering and then late Sunday afternoon just before they wanted to go home, I quickly drew this little hedgehog with a rucksack, carrying an apple for his teacher... I'm really pleased with it. Even though it took a week to think about and then about an hour to do! Penny Black? No, ((shhh!) Loony Lyn... I drew it, but even I wondered- did I draw that??? Just hope the fraud squad don't come knocking on my door!
The blackboard type freebie papers with writing on, I ended up finding in my Free Digital Scrapbooking paper file, they were just perfect! (The backing paper looks brown here but I may have been low on black ink or blaim it on bad lighting!)

A Pink Petticoat Papertake Challenge

Just had to have a go at this, I only found it an hour ago! (Even though I did have an email a couple of days back...I forgot!) Not a brilliant picture seeing it's midnight! It's for a challenge over on PaperTake Weekly Challenge. So I might be too late... I followed a sketch and at first I thought you had to use Pink Petticoat papers, but after having a shifty at some of the other lovely cards, it seems you don't have to. Anyway...I used Pink Petticoat papers and the little bird image is Pink Petticoat too. The sentiment was typed on my laptop. I used Nestabilites, a Woodware punch and a cuttle bug die-cut run through my BigShot for the shapes and Ribbon from my stash. I really want to add something else ... not sure what though. Mock stitching? Maybe. I'll post a better picture tomorrow when the sun comes up and include the inside too...
(And as if by Magic!!... more pictures appear... much better!)

Sweet Wishes

I couldn't help it. I had to make another Tilda shaker card, but this is the first chance I've had to upload her. (Dogs are actually sleeping at the moment!!..shhhh!!!!) I cut the shaker with my Nesties again and added some beads and I've gone back to using Pink Petticoat papers, because it's just sooooo easy to match up the colours when you're in a hurry, or haven't got much time! Coloured my image (Forum swap) with Promakers, Whisper Pens and a paint brush and after using my 'Quickie Glue pen' added some very fine glitter to Tilda's bow and turn-ups. The flower was from my stash. The silvery 'wool' was from a charity shop, three large balls for a £1.
Warf Warf!! (Oh blow....walkies time again...! Just coming!!)
At the moment the inside looks like this...but I will be adding another insert too...hopefully this should be hopping it's way to New Zealand....or not! I might change my mind! (Do they have kangaroo's in New Zealand??)

A Flower with A View

This was just the quickest card I could come up with. I suddenly realised I'd have to race the postman to the postbox, and sure enough as I pulled out of my drive, he whizzed passed me like a speeding bullet, but I had an advantage! He had to make one last stop at another postbox, before he hit the Post Office. He swerved left and I chased on to the right, but I got stuck behind a slow old codger, who couldn't see over the steering wheel, in fact I think he's dog was driving! As I got to the main road, there was the postman whizzing by. I'm sure he waved and smiled. Damit! I quickly raced off after him but as I arrived at the Post Office he'd already pulled his post bag from the back of the van and had parcels from the Post Office clutched in his arms! (Note: Postman always move faster than the speed of light when it's nearly tea time!) Two of my letters where ok, I knew they would go ordinary first class, but the third??? A bit lumpy with that shaker topper attached. "I've just got to check it's not too fat" I called to the Postie (I refuse to call it a LARGE letter, when it's so tiny, but a fat one, well, okay.
"Oh...." said the Postie, "it's ok, I haven't emptied the postbox yet."
Luckily the Post Office was empty! But as usual, the Mrs 'Happy' Lady (not) was 'doing' something. (shuffling papers and pretending to write)
"I'll be with you in a minute" she said, not looking up. Her friend in the other cubicle was hidden behind a huge parcel. They then begun to 'talk' about the day in general. I looked out of the shop window and saw the postman heading towards the post box! Key in hand! Oh no!!
Mrs 'Happy', then looks up, and says, "Oh what a shame, I think you've missed the postman..."
Grrr.
"Oh," says me coolly. "He said he'd wait. " I lied,
"Oh, did he? Oh well, that'll be another 22p please (It already had a first class stamp on it) I stick the stamps on and bolt for the door, just as Mr Postie pulls the letters from the post box! Phew! I'd done it! I'd beaten the Postie. "Glad I caught you, I really wanted it to go tonight,"
But then..."Seeing it's a holiday weekend, " began the Postie, "probably won't get to where it's going til early next week..." Bother.

A Quickie Shaker

It's really gorgeous out side, gardening? No, well, there's still time! I hope this isn't the actual Summer and we have more of this to come. We ended up going for a nice walk along the beach, that way I can nip into the craft shop on the way back to the car. But it was closed! I only wanted photo glue. I didn't use too much glue on this card. At this point the phone rings....It's John.... Hubby "Come and get me.... (He'd gone out in the little red van) "It's stopped...again, I need a tow." he says, "I'm not far away." So that's what I've been doing this afternoon...why do men do it?? He knows the little red van is old and sick and doesn't like going more than a mile from home...
Now where was I??? Oh yes, just a quickie, as I'm waaaay behind with my makes. Very simple. Cover card with desired paper. These papers were a freeby of 36 sheets, from 'Quick Cards Made Easy designed by Nel Whatmore. I made the shaker frame from my Nestabilities, glued the paper to card~ (Crunchy Nut Cornflake packet coming in handy again!) ran it through my BigShot and for the first time I think I can see a bit of embossing too! Fixed the smaller frame to the larger frame, added a couple of Penny Black Stickeroos and hey-presto! A little shaker card.
This other little topper shaker, is waiting to go on another card. Both the 'inside' papers, melons and spiders, are from Pink Petticoat.

Another Pink Tilda

I don't use mirror (or miri) card very often, mainly because my cutters (all three of them~ even the new one I had for Christmas) cuts wonky. And there's nothing worse than a wonky bit on a card, unless it's supposed to be there! That's why I love my Nestabilites. No wonky bits! I've used them here to cut the frame. Somewhere nice for Tilda to sit.

I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to punches. (I do seem to have rather a lot of them) but I'm still looking for a two and a half inch circle punch ~ one I don't have to buy in from America. I can just see me now, taking an extra large suitcase when we go over to see Maria (youngest daughter) in October, full of things for the new baby but coming back with it crammed to bursting with crafty things!!
