A GingerBread Friday Freebie From Bugaboo!

It's still just about Friday, so I've made this card with the latest Bugaboo Freebie. This lovely Gingerbread Pocket! I was hoping to enter it into their latest bingo challenge, hope I'm not too late! Anyway, I've chosen to do...'starts with P' (Pocket, Pudding, (on the paper) and Paper) 'Button' and 'Flock or Flower-Soft' (I've used white flower-soft)  and I've also done the other way, 'Starts with P', 'Sentiment', '3 or more papers,' which means I've also managed to do...'Flock or Flower-soft' 'sentiment' and 'brad' (the button is also a brad)
The Card. I've 3D-ed the gingerbread, coloured with ProMarkers. Added a bit of detail using a white gell pen and a holly sticker. Covered with backing paper from Forever Friends 6X6 'Cosy Christmas' pack, three different papers on the out side and on inside.Glitter card, Stickles glitter, gems, ribbon from DoCrafts, button brad from a set from Fizzy Moon Celebrations brads. I've added glitter to it. The Snow Flake Corner  Die-cut is by Memory Box. The little gingerbread men are from my stash, which I've had soooo long their sticky backs were no longer sticky. The gingerbread man  in the corner was a 3D sticky tag, (with two gingerbread men) soI pulled them apart, fixed one on the front and the other gingerbread man on the tag, inside the card, then just added off cuts of the same paper. Everything was edged with TM Lipstick red.
The Freebie Fonts. On the inside is called Pookie download it HERE and the sentiment on the front is a freebie font called  The Ginger House, linked it before. Download HERE.
That's it I think! I really hate this 'new blogger' as I've said before when it first changed I changed it back. It really is rubbish! It keeps typing in small even tho' I've pressed normal... I have to go into the HTML and change all the 'small' to normal after I've finished typing! That must be it!! Blogger is telling me once again I have no space for pictures...so I'm having to delete a few! Have a fabulous Weekend...I was going to have my hair cut tomorrow, but I chickened out! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Les..

It's was John's step dad, Les's birthday yesterday, and I found the perfect image from the Forever Friends collection, 'Just For Him' papers. Well, a bit of a cheat really as it is just a picture on the paper. But it was the hat that did it. Les has one just like it, and
he loves to sit out in the gardens, in his chair with a nice cuppa, so, as I said, it was the perfect picture to use for his Birthday card.
Three of the papers came from this collect, except for the pink check inside, that one came from a 6x6 pack 'For You' Both these packs I've had for ages. I really should use them up, seeing once more...I'm out of printer ink! Where does it go!!!??
How I made it. Easy! First I edged a pearl blank card with a dark brown Promarker. Cut the 6x6 papers down to fit, edged them with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and fixed them on allowing a little of the brown Promarker edging to show. I covered the inside and the back in the same way, keeping back the strips I'd sliced off to add to the front and the inside of the card. Added little bit of micro glitter round the bear's hat, a few Card Candi, a little dragonfly gem, a sentiment and that's it!
The font is a freebie, of course, I liked the little hearts, it's called Cupid de Locke and you can download it HERE.
Too hot to stay crafting indoors but at the same time, too hot out side as well!! Hope you've all had a fabulous day.

Just A Mo....

Aw, my mojo's been missing these last few days... weeks, months!! So what better than using up some of Mo's digi's I coloured some time back. WOYWW visitors would have spotted this little darling stuck to my wall above my usual crafty-mess. Time to use it I think!
First I printed him out twice, coloured him with Promarkers and then 3D-ed him, fixed the whole thing to the card using silicone glue, after first cutting it out using 'Large Deckled Rectangles' Nestabilities.
Once I found the right paper's, (Forever Friends 'Just For Him' for the garden theme and Cosy Christmas' for the red dots) the whole card came together quite easily! The Swirl is by Memory Box and so that I could fix it over the edge, I've sliced some of the front off the card and replaced it with acetate, hoping this also makes the card not square for a challenge I've found over on Cardmadfairy's Digi Days. The white plastic sticky stuff behind the image is really used for sticking onto loose carpets, rugs, mats, to stop them from slipping, that didn't work... so, rather than throw it away, it now has a place in my craft room! I've used it here thinking it might look like a garden trellis. I've also used it on this card to look like kitchen tiles. The The font used is called Flower Child.  The little Ladybird/Ladybug was fixed to a tiny peg, so I prised it off and used a Quickie Glue pen to fix it to the card. I finished off with some red spotty ribbon, three tiny green gems and a bee charm, because one of the challenges I quite liked was 'Busy Bugs'. Inside I used a Martha Stewart Floral Lace border punch. I was hoping this 'paper lace' might do for Mo's latest challenge too.. but as everyone seems to be using lots of 'prober lace' and little girl images...maybe not, 'real' lace just didn't go with the wellie boots!

It's not looking a lot like Christmas...yet

Very sunny this morning. Already had a visit from our 'not resident but likes to call in', cat and the daily phone call from some one you can't understand, trying to sell you something you know you don't want...but seems to know all about your computer, and wants to know if your Sky is working okay. "No." sez me "It's not, it doesn't work at all.... seeing we don't have it, that's not really a problem!" At this point the phone usually goes dead.
This is my first Christmas card for this year... not counting the ones left over from last year. I used one of my own Snowmen digi's, (grab him while you can, he'll be in the store next week @ 99p) Coloured with Promarkers. The blue behind the snowman is a skyblue Promarker, dotted with a white gel pen for the 'snow'.
I wanted to use up some Christmas backing papers I've had for ages and never used, but couldn't really match them up with the colouring I'd already done on the snowman. So note to self, match everything up, before you start trying to put it all together. Usually things do come together, a bit of glitter there, a ribbon, some embossing, whatever, but I'm not sure it does this time. Well, I did lay out all the papers, then closed my eyes to pick them! The papers are Forever friends, 'Cosy Christmas'
I did achieve the 3D effect I wanted to do with the snowman though. I printed him out three times, a whole image, an image with no arms and then just his head, with the top part of his hat but no dangley bit and the scarf, without the fringe.
I've added a bit of micro glitter to his hat, I did try white flowerSoft but that looked too messy, wiped it off before it had time to sick! The Merry Christmas I did on the computer.
The Font is called Kingsthings Christmas and you can download it HERE. Well, that's one Christmas card done, I'll probably send this one to my brother...along with a nice green and red striped scarf! New Follower! Big ((wave)) to Gail, oops, no she's gone again... that keeps happening! I imagine some deep dark hole where all those tiny little pictures fall... That's it for now, thank you for stopping by!

Have a Puurrfect Birthday Deb!

Evening everyone, Hope you're all well! It's my Sister-in-law's birthday today. Happy Birthday Deb! She loves cats, (she has two) so of course her card had to have a cat on it!
I've actually followed I ♥ ProMarkers sketch for this very quick and easy card. I've used a blank Craft Creations card and a stamped, heat embossed image by DoveCraft/TrimCraft Pepper & Friends. Coloured with Promarkers, (with a bit of added red gel pen on the heart to make it glitter) and a tiny butterfly charm, to go with the butterflies on the papers and image. All the papers came from the 6x6 paper pack Forever Friends, 'For You'.
The Fonts. The sentiment on the front of the card (Just Puurrfect) is called Linda's Lament, you probably already have it on your computer if not, Google the name.
The little butterfly on the sentiment is really the capital letter K from the font Sloneczko, (download HERE) which I've also used inside the card. It's all capital letters, so if you press for a capital, instead you get a little bee, fly, car, pencil, happy or sad faced sun, star or moon, etc.
I thought the butterfly font went well with the butterfly papers, charm and the butterfly on the image too.
I've also used Woodware punches, Martha Stewart fern punch and a Xcut punch for the front part of the flowers. It was the first punch I ever bought! It tore the paper the first time I used it and it still tears it now! Sharpening it the usual way doesn't seem to make any difference. Shame really, as I like that flower shape, but I'm really reluctant to buy another one as my other Xcut punch is rubbish too, but, my border Xcut punch is really good, and I'm very happy with that. But, on saying that, I do like the way it sort of 'tears' the paper, and makes the gingham paper look like cloth. Hopefully you won't notice the blue brads are slightly different blues, don't think that really matters!
That's it for now, oh except I did add some eye-lash wool...not sure if that will stay though. I thought it looked a bit cat whiskery! Thank you for stopping by.

Quirky Spots and Stripes! With Embossing.

The new challenge has started over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog! This time round it's...

Spots, Stripes and Embossing!!
A nice and easy challenge, which was set by me! I was soooo engrossed in doing that and double checking the spelling, I forgot all about doing my own post!! So, here it is...a bit late. This time we're being sponsored (which means prizes!!) by the lovely...

The lucky Design Team Choice Winner, will receive not only a selection of gorgeous spotty polka dot ribbons, but also a selection of these lovely striped ribbons and some lovely buttons too!! Our second sponsor is none other that yours truly...

I will give the winner of the Public Voting a choice of any 5 digis! (More in store very shorty if not sooner!) So, what d'you have to do?! Simply make anything crafty that will fit into this 'Spots, Stripes and Embossing Challenge.'
Easy!
I've made two cards this time. This is my first. I'll blog about the other one later. I've made a pocket card using Forever Friends Double sided Christmas paper. Tiny spots and little stripes on red. I've cut the A4 sheet so I have a piece measuring 4½" x just over 11" and scored at approx 3½ and 8½, the smaller flap tucks up to form the pocket. Folded strips of paper form the gutter at the sides so it will hold a gift. In this case a few stamped images. The closing flap doesn't have to have acetate added, you can always lower the topper so the card is supported. More Pocket Cards Here (Made with12x12 )
I've 3D-ed and embossed the Forever Friend Stamped Bear about four times, once including the heart (Black ink and clear embossing power) coloured him in with Promarkers, cut him out and fixed him together with silicone glue. I've used my Nestabilities (Large Deckled Rectangles, which are also embossed) to make the topper and used silicon glue once again to fix it to the card. I've added embossed acetate a long the bottom of the card, mainly to help it stand up. The acetate is nice and thick as it was once a Promarkers packet! (The flat side not the bumpy side!) The little Forever Friends bear inside was leftover from another card I made in the week. I haven't added a sentiment yet, but it will probably be, 'Just For You.' I've also added a black shaped heart to hide the brad hearts prongs (or legs) Think it still needs something on the inside.. and when I can decide what it is, I'll add another picture!

Little Boy Blue

I've made this little New Baby card quite small (so cute!) and once again have been using up my scraps of Forever Friend (double sided) Christmas papers, which I bought half price in the sales. I stamped the little hedgehog with black ink and then embossed him with clear embossing power, zapped him with the heat gun. (I like doing that! He didn't mind, he slept through it all!) Then stamped him again so that I could 3D him, but first, I coloured him with Promakers, well just two Promakers...or maybe three.
The Little rocking horse came back with me from our trip out to Seattle in 2009, (to see baby Mason) so was probably from Michaels or Ben...something! There was this huge bowl full of different little 'buttons' and you could pick out just what you wanted for funny money. Wish they did that over here! The heart I'm sure was from Thistleblue, included in one of her candy give-aways late last year. (Thank you!! I won theTemplate - Mirrors!)
The Font is a freebie (of course!) It's called ThreadFun and you can download it HERE. (Very similar to Cool Dots which you can download HERE)
Punches used were Woodware (Blink blink) for flower middle, taken from some lovely 12x12 velum I must have had for four years!! (aagh! I've used it at last! I think one of my toes has dropped off!) An XCut boarder punch and my Martha Stewart for the fern leaves, and everything else is from stash... There was a time, I thought Stash might be a shop, as everyone seemed to get most of their stuff from there...(have I just typed that out loud??)

I might be a bit late for some of the challenges I'd made this card for...so I'd better get a move on!
Quick reminder!! If you've entered Quirky Craft's New Beginnings Challenge don't forget to go and vote for your favourite card late on Friday, (tomorrow or today, whenever that is for you!) through to Saturday. Any one can vote, but of course you'll have to get all your blogging buddies to vote for you if you've entered! Go Now!! Thanks for stopping by!

There's A Mouse in The House.

Well, there could be! (a mouse in the house) but I don't think so, not unless you count these cutie lickle mices! Brenda from over the pond, butlersabroad.wordpress dot com, and me, (or should that be I?) did a bit of a stamped image swap, this fabulous House Mouse image was one of my swaps. I'm just going to have to get me some of these now!
I've used Forever Friend (double sided) papers, left over from one of their Christmas sets. (See, they don't have to be used for Christmas!) The flowers were actually stamped out, yes, I got that mad, I stamped on it with my foot! using an Xcut punch, that just will not cut anything!! but, on saying that, full marks go to the XCut punch that did the border scallops. I do like that one! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the fern leaves, then loads of micro glitter thrown wherever it would stick. Gems and daisy trail ribbon from stash. The image was coloured with Promakers. The sentiment was done on the computer. The font is called Saginaw and you can download it for free HERE or just Google the name, there's loads of sites that do it.
I've used a black background to photo my card on this time, what d'you think? Can you guess what I've used?? It's a rather posh black hat box, (I think) which my card just sits in nicely! I hasten to add, neither the posh hat box, nor the posh hat, was mine! People are always giving me empty boxes and sometimes they are very useful!

There's also a blog hop going on, involving House Mouse, which I thought ohooo I must join in and do a House Mouse card, (which is why I did this one) but, me of small brain forgot where, but luckily I was reminded tonight via email, (Thank you Sue, please go and see your fab blog!!) so, card finished, I'm off to blog hop...hope I'm not too late!

Two Quickie Forever Friends Christmas Cards

Aw, you thought Christmas was over, didn't you and if you didn't know me better you'd think I was getting ready for next Christmas! No...I just mislaid these two.
I did both these cards very quickly, you can tell can't you, don't answer that! I'd already sliced the top half off the red backing paper for another card, so then had the bottom bit left with the Forever Friends 'Rudolph' Bear. Can't really do very much with it, other than make a narrower card. So I sliced about an inch off a 5x5 card, added gems, red glitter elasticated Christmasy cord, a strip of the red backing paper with red dots and some punched out fern leaves. I did stamp Merry Christmas, but smudged it so did it again and covered it up.
The inside font is a freebie, it's called Freehand591 I've linked it before, but if you missed it you can download it here
The next card, well... I was playing with my new Forever Friends stamps. Used a bit of Liquid Appligue and glitter for the 'snow' and micro glitter on the bear's scarf. Coloured with Promakers of course. There doesn't seem to be enough 'bling' on them so I'll probably re-vamp them before next Christmas! (What's the betting I'll forget where I put them!)

It's A New Quirky Challenge!

Quirky Craft's fortnightly challenges have started up again! This week we have some lovely Guest Designers showing you their fabulous makes. Claire Easson's pretty new baby card. Ali's (Aqualeiga's Escape) funky Happy New Year Card and Denise's Beautiful Day 2011 calendar! So please pop over and have a peek!
This New Challenge, first of the New Year, has been set by the lovely Caro
New Beginnings
You can take that in any way you want. Your project can be about something new, the New Year, (Of course) a new baby, a new home, a new job, new engagement, in fact anything NEW or a celebration of something new. (Maybe not the new socks you had for Christmas... but on second thoughts, that would fit in!) And as it's the first challenge of the New Year you can also use any of your new crafting stash, but be sure to tell us what the new items you've used are. (see I told you it was easy!)
Here's my DT card. I've gone for New Home. All the papers I've used are new and are by Forever Friends. I've cut them with my new pink maxi guillotine and my new deckled edged Nesties. I also won some clear stamps, some Promakers and a £10 voucher just before Christmas, so have used this cute kitty, Molly Cat with Bird House from The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs. (Thank you!!) I 3D-ed the kitty, bird house and bird and coloured them with the new Promakers! (I bought a few more Promakers with the voucher)
The sentiment was done on the computer. The font is a freebie, it's called MTF PlayTime, and it's from Miss TiinaFonts, (Link is always on side bar) So, all you have to do now is pop over to the...

Happy New Year!! 2011 Mini Shaker Card

01.01.11. The start of the New Year!! I wonder what we'll all be up to in the coming months?
Here's my first card of 2011. Happy New Year, which I made for my Mum and Dad. I used the same Forever Friends papers as their Christmas Card so they would match (sort of) but used my own 'Happy New Year' digi (freebie until midnight tonight) The little cat started life off as a rabbit, would you believe, but I just couldn't get his ears to look right with that hat. So glad I changed it!
It's a sort of a mini shaker card too. I folded the front of the card back, and then punched out two shapes with a Woodware punch, so they matched up once folded back again. Made a sort of acetate pocket inside the fold and filled it with some chunky gold glitter and stuck it all down.
My little elf has been coloured with Promakers and splattered with micro fine glitter then fixed to the card with DS sticky tape. The font I used on the front is called PC Sunny Day, at the moment I can't find a free down...but there must be a freebie out there somewhere so I'll keep looking! (The freebie you can get isn't this one)
