Ok, is that cryptic or what?! It's time, the first day of the new year!!! Happy New Year!! For Quirky Craft's First challenge of 2012! And!!!! Drum roll please! Guess what!?! We have a fabulous new sponsor!! For this fortnight, we are sponsored by the one and only....
It's Diane's turn to set the theme for this very first challenge of the new year and it's none other than...
FOOD Glorious FOOD!
I mean, what could be better?? Bugaboo and Food, (bang goes my diet!) two of my most very favourite things!!
have very kindly offered a prize of 7 digital stamps to the winner of this challenge! So, I'm going to secretly disguise myself as someone else (large floppy hat, jam jar glasses and a big black moustache) and enter their challenge and WIN!
Come on, Bugaboo gives you a freebie every Friday, the link has been on side bar forever! So get them out, colour them up, turn them into something Foody! and come and join in!
Gosh...my throat's sore now, all that shouting! Ok..here's my card..
I've used Berry Fairy CupCake!! (I love it...made some Christmasy cup cakes last weekend, well, John did, and they were lovely! they had brandy butter and golden balls and everything!) Anyway, where was I?? oh yes...I used, Berry Fairy CupCake. Printed her out four times, coloured her with Promarkers, cut them all out, one using my large scalloped Nestie circle, cutting the bottom off the cupcake. I then did a bit of 3D-ing to build it all up again. Easy! Here's a close up...
The Backing Paper's are called Bake and Be Merry and came from issue94 (November) Papercraft Inspirations Magazine. You can download them for free, HERE but they seem to only be doing their downloads in jPegs now...(you were given the choice of the PDF format before, which was much better! hint hint!) Anyway, they are freebies so we mustn't grumble!! Click the above link and go and find them! There's green and red stripes as well as these little cupcakes with candy canes and holly. Perfect for a late Christmas, New Year or a festive Birthday card! If you make a card using the paper's why not let them know, you might get published! (like what I did once!)
I've teamed the cupcake papers up with freebie red gingham papers, which you can find HERE
Both papers were matted onto red card and inked in Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. With red and gold spotty candi brady thingies on the corners and a few gems. Used my Memory Box Frosty Border die-cut again, (coz I love it!) I'm beginning to sound a bit like what's he name?? that gay guy with the squeaky voice, oh ...y'know... him, anyway...continue...
The flower stamens and gold bits were pulled from some old Christmas decorations.
Tip, any dec's that have seen their best, check them out before you throw them out, they might be recycled as Card embellishments!!
Freebie Fonts Out side, Straw Berry Sweet..(Your very sweet...I try my best) I've used a font called the Gingerbread House download it HERE
Inside (Don't count the candles....Eat The cake, Happy Birthday!) I've used KingsThings Christmas2. (Linked on Thursdays post) Wizards Magic and Thinking of You or you can just Google the names.
I went a bit wrong with the glitter, it was meant to be micro fine, but I accidentally used...embossing power (Oops) blew it off and then used Stickles Glitter. Once that was dry, found the micro glitter and just dusted it wherever... added a bit of ribbon...punched out some tiny holy using a tiny Woodware punch on the edge of some green peel offs.. so they were already sticky! and...oh yes, coloured white flowers with a Crimson Promarker to match the strawberries and the cake... that's it! Phew!! I have done an ATC too... but I'll show you that tomorrow. Time for a fairy cake! Catch you later!
And there's MORE!!! We are also sponsored this challenge by the lovely...
Crafty Ribbons!!!!
Now then Quirky People, Cazzy has laid down the law, waved her big stick and pulled on her pointy boots, so PLEASE read the rules of the challenges on the top left hand side of Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog, or she'll magic your entry away!Come on, Bugaboo gives you a freebie every Friday, the link has been on side bar forever! So get them out, colour them up, turn them into something Foody! and come and join in!
