Oui Oui! It's a Quirky Small World!

The new Quirky Crafts challenge, It's A Quirky Small World sponsored by Paper Pretties and Samiflora (facebook link) has started over on the challenge blog and as well as a Scrap page, I've also made a quick 'Thank You' card with the same French poodle I used in the post below. (Honest, it's the same French Poodle, I scanned in the coloured doggi I mean digi, and gave it a white frame so it looked like a picture and then used the scanned coloured picture on the scrap book page)
She's been 3D-ed (the top dog has no arms or sign) and coloured with mostly lilac Promarkers. All the papers are by PinkPetticoat. I've also added gems, buttons and lots of Stickles Glitter Glue.
The inside of the card at the moment has been left blank.
New Follower (((Hi and a big wave to )))Evelyn! No Link yet.
Aggh! I've just put this into preview and this post and the one below have all been typed in black! Black on black, so it's INVISIBLE!! and for some reason not the font or font size I normally use... bother!!
Don't have time to redo it now, as I have to go into the HML and change all the 'smalls' to 'normal' It won't change when you press for normal. I've just changed the colour for now, the only thing with that is..... I can't see what I'm typing!!  I'm not here again, so later I hope to add this card to some...

A Quirky Dark Kitty!

Here's my second Quirky Crafts DT card. The challenge this time is set by Cazzy and she wanted to see 'No cute digi's, or even no digis at all and to use dark colours or dark themes
Bit of a quickie as I'm not home in my craft room, still sitting on dogs!  I've used Dovecraft papers and a Dustin Pike Kitty, who is one of our sponsors this challenge. (That's Dustin, not the kitty) This one was already coloured but they come 'naked' as well.
I dedicate this card to our lodger cat Jinxie.(real name Bruno) who is at home on his own (aw!) Don't worry, he has Iams and Felix fish in Jelly and we call in to see him, but he's not our cat and he can go home, it's just in the next road!! Oh must tell you...so funny...first thing, popped home to finished my Quirky DT cards and feed Jinxie. He always comes out to say hello or good bye...Get in my car to drive back here to the dogs...got half way here when I heard a loud Mmmeow!!  Looked in the rear view mirror and he suddenly jumped up on the parcel shelf, and was sitting there staring at me! So, I had to bring him back...I think he wanted to come and stay!
Didn't have the computer with me (at home) so had to hand write the sentiment...might change that later. Love those Dovecraft papers, I won them, ages ago...

Quirky's A Little Bit Dark

Hi guys! Sorry no blogging much this week, we're away dog sitting and crafting stuff and laptop are in two different places...It's time for another Quirky Craft's Challenge. Thanks to all you who joined in my Layers and Snow challenge last time. Fabulous creations!!  Called in to all of you, although I know I didn't comment on some, being away and that word code thingy gets me every time.
Cazzy's in a quirky  mood for this next challenge and wants to see no images OR no cute images AND she wants to see dark colours, or dark subjects... or both...it's really up to you!
Here's my card...and yes...There's a spelling mistake.. which I can't fix at the moment coz I don't have the card with me...just the picture of it. My craft room and computer are separated this week (and next) so I had to write the sentiment. Also my printer's been having a hissy fit and won't print! Funny how I never notice  mistakes until it's loaded up on the blog! Never mind! It'll give me a chance to add a better sentiment... I had loads in my head, but they were all too long! Ssshhh! If I don't mention it, no one will notice! Back later to add links, challenges and swap the pictures for ones with the right spelling...and other things!
Thank you to those of you who have popped over to 'read' my story's first chapter, the second  chapter should be on later tonight. I might now be 'brave' enough to add my 'real' story now! Coming up...another Quirky Challenge card....

Monsterous! Quirky's Been Bugged By A Pike Again!

Back again and 'Dustin Time!' Quirky Craft's new challenge has already started over on the challenge blog. This fortnight we are sponsored by two fabulous digital artists! Bugaboo and Dustin Pike. Please scroll down to see my Bugaboo DT card in the post below this one and connect to some links. Cazzy set the theme and she wants to see...
MONSTERS!
Here's my card using six of Dustin's fabulous MONSTERS! (We can only see five) Wait! The other one's inside the card!
First I had to decide which Monster to use, and once I'd type Monster Party Time on that Notice sign one of the monster is holding, I decided I had to use more that one monster for this card! They were ready for a party! I put them all in Word, printed them out, coloured them with PromMarkers, fitted them to some black card and then fitted that, using gel glue to a blank card I'd already covered using some left over Pink Petticoat paper.
The Foot PaperClip came from Tesco's...
The Font on the front of the card is a freebie it's called IguanaLover BTN download it HERE (some sites do charge)
I've made the inside so that it sort of pops out, well, folds out. I've used the same paper (Pink Petticoat) The striped paper is Promarkers. This font inside is also a freebie, as soon as I find it I'll add the link! Come and join in over on Quirky Crafts with the challenge. Add all your crafty monster creations! I'm not here, this is one timer. Scroll down for more monsters! Hope I can later add some...

It's a Quirky Number!

No sneaky peak today-straight in with the Quirky Crafts Challenge, as I'm not here! Probably as you read this, I'll be just coming back from the Isle of Wight. My turn to set the theme and I want to see...
NUMBERS!!!
As many or as few as you like! As long as there's a number somewhere on your card or crafty project, paper, sentiment, any where, it will fit the theme!
Very pleased and excited (Lyn does a jig!) to have a NEW sponsor for this Challenge...
Doodle Dragon Studios
who are generously giving our first prize winner $10 to spend in the store! and....
The Stamping Boutique who will be offering 3 digi's to the second winner.
Here's my first card, an image from The Stamping Boutique (For once, my card's not square!) Look out for a Dustin card later...
I've used Frankenstein and 3D-ed him, coloured him in different shades of grey (ohoo that sounds familiar) and the background, using different shades of Purple and Lilac ProMarkers.
I've also used Back to School Chemistry Set, and placed just behind him. The number and wording were done on my computer. The little skull and spider were from a packet of Halloween party sequins.
The cobweb backing paper came from ScrapGirls many moons ago, I've added loads of Stickles glitter to that.
The Fonts are freebies. The 5 is Apple Boy BTN Out Line. You'll find HERE and the type is called The Gingerbread House. No coma's or anything, the full stop is a gingerbread house, the question mark is a tree, no number 4.
That's it! Will add a Dustin Pike card A.S.A.P. using his latest freebie! Hope the timer works, if not... you'll never know!! Back later to add more challenges! Bye for now!!

But!!! It Must be Quirky! Very Quirky-ish or not that Quirky, in fact not being Quirky would in FaCT make it even more Quirky...
As before...I've hidden a sneaky Freebie somewhere in thi s post .. not telling what it is (but there's a picture on the side bar) or where to FIND it... just use your mouse and you will!
Pop back later, and join in! HIDDEN FREEBIE CLOSED

Laugh! I've Caught the Quirky Bug Again,

Hi Bloggers! It's Time for another Quirky Crafts Challenge! Pop over and join in!! Here's my Card!! We are very lucky to have Bugaboo sponsoring us this week. Yay!! and they will be giving our winner/favourite Seven Digi's of their choice!!! And for those of you who don't win, now's the time to pop over to the bugaboo digi store coz they have 50% off! Caro has set a fantastic theme to go with these digi's
Make Us Laugh!!!
what could be easier than that!?
(Staying in bed all day)

No! come on, get out those mojo's, you have two weeks to make anything you want, enter as many times as you like, have fun, just make us laugh! Simples!!!
Here's my card... I've used Gus Tidbits New Truck printed out twice, once over the cloud backing papers (PinkPetticoat) and the stripy paper. This looks like two separate pieces of paper doesn't it, but no, the clouds and the stripes are all one piece. I left enough white card to add another Gus image next to it, so I could do a bit of 3D-ing! In the second image I' cut out Gus from the trucks window, but left the steering wheel and his arm, I also snipped off the headlight and that fencing whatknot in the back of the trunk.
To finish off I added some Glossy Accents to Gus's glasses, edged the card with a black ProMarker and added some mock stitching using a fine black liner. I also added ribbon, brads and eyelets from my stash. The stripy papers are my own, made using Promarkers and can be found as freebies HERE. Hope my card makes you laugh! Thanks for stopping by!

Quirky Flowers and Ribbons!!

Happy Father's Day Everyone! Sorry I'm very late adding my card to the next Quirky Crafts challenge. It's Diane's turn to set the theme. It's nice and easy and has nothing to do with father's day...it's...
Hand Made Flowers with Ribbons.
Ha ha! that fooled you didn't it! So we'll be looking to see Hand Made Flowers (from punches, die cuts etc) and no bought ones and of course, ribbons!
This challenge has two sponsors Crafty Ribbons: who are giving our first place winner (chosen by me and the others on the DT) this lovely prize of the latest teddy bear ribbons! Aren't they cute, I want some!!
Our other sponsor is Paper Pretties and they are offering our second winner 6 digi's of their choice!
So! here's my card....Bit bright maybe! I used Butterfly Blossoms, which I printed twice, once over the sky so I could do a bit of 3D-ing. (A bit of fiddling in My Craft Studio)
Then I edged a plain pearl card with a crimson Promarker and another square of card with burnt sienna. Added the ribbons. The check ribbon was free from a magazine and the butterfly ribbon from my stash. Fixed the bow on using silicone glue. Punched out a tiny tag and then made the flowers using three more Woodware punches. Coloured them with the crimson Promarker and added Stickles Glitter. Added some mock sticking using a brown Staedtler Fine-liner.
The paper is from a 12x12 Designer paper stack called Sugar & Spice from DoveCraft (brads, ribbons, stamps to go with it in one of the Do-Craft goody Bags)
The freebie font, I've used on the inside of the card I've linked before ages ago. It's called Honey Bunches and you can download it HERE

The Sky's The Quirky Limit!

Evening Quirky Fans! Hope everyone here in Little Ol' England are enjoying all the red white and blue!! It's Cazzy's turn to choose the theme for this fortnight, which is.....
Up Up and Away
(or The Sky's the Limit)
This means your make must feature something you would see in the sky! And if that's pink pigs with wings, I guess that counts too!! But realistically, balloons, kites, birds, bees, planes, clouds, rain, snow, Sun, moon, rainbow, stars, umbrellas! The list is endless!!

We are sponsored this week by... who have provided the DT with two sets of pdf files, Up Up and Away and Rain Rain go Away and offered a prize of three sets of digi stamps for the winner!
So I've chosen rain, as my thing in the sky. Here's what I made. I've used my latest digi, Henry In The Rain, with his umbrella, along with two sentiments from our sponsors, one on the front of the card and another inside it.
I drew Henry especially for this challenge and then remembered I had Hedgie's Windy Day (with his Kite)... but he's still not in the store yet. (His bottom's a bit wonky!)
The papers are from a 6x6 pack 'Let's Fly Away' a freebie from Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine a few months ago, by Rachel Harper.
I printed Henry out (he has more hair in front than Hedgie does) four times so I could do a bit of 3D-ing. Coloured him using ProMarkers of course, maybe I should've coloured his boots red? Never mind, I'm sure he doesn't mind! Fitted all the bits with Glue Gel~think I'm going back to using silicone, it's a bit too 'soft' for me, and it still goes all wobbly-stiff if you leave the lid off for five minutes!
I worked out how to reside the sentiments (as they come on a sheet) Thank you to Caro and Di for reminding me! (My brain froze!)
Fixed it all together after edging the pearl card with a gold Promarker and inking with Tim Holtz 'Worn Lipstick', then did a bit of mock sticking, added those tiny button brads, the punched out butterflies oh and the ribbon, it was just a tiny scrap that fell from somewhere as if to say, 'please use me!' So I did. It's such a tiny piece there's none behind the image at all! And that's about it! I was going to make the card opening from the bottom, and it wasn't until I'd fixed everything in place that I realised I hadn't! That;s it! Don't forget to come and join us over at Quirky Crafts! Thank you for stopping by!

Quirky Dotty About Spots, Stripes & Ribbons!

Ok, It's that Quirky Time again, well it will be if Mr Blogger's timer has worked! It's my turn to set the challenge and I want to see... Dots, Spots, Stripes and Ribbon!
I've made an easel card. I've used a digi image from our sponsors Robyn's Fetish called Friends Forever and... this is the good bit~ I made my own backing papers.
I couldn't find a blue to match the blue I'd smudged around the edge of the topper, so I thought, (bit painful) why not, dab a bit of the blue colour on some paper, scan it in, open it in PaintNet and, Bob's your uncle!
Well, for those who don't know Bob, what I did was, clicked on the little dipper thingy (Photoshop, or any programme like that) and the colour box will come up with a match for that colour. Then all I had to do was have a 'play' with dots and stripes. Watch out for them in the next post, I'll add them as an
always freebie.
Back to the card. I covered a blank card with red card, and then the Dotty spotties papers. Printed the image out twice, with the sentiment curving round one of them (did all that in Word) Coloured with Promarkers, cut out an extra duck...no, not a duck, hasn't got webbed feet...not really a chicken either... anyway, cut round his body and did a bit of 3D-ing. Added more red card and Streaky Stripes paper, some ribbon, buttons, brads, card candi.
Used an Xcut boarder punch and made a sort of edge, a strip folded so it stays up to hold the easel in place, using red card and the backing paper, added another one to the top of the card to match.
The font is a freebie. It's called Jeffrey PrintJK Download it HERE There is a smidging of glitter too. Love the digi, definitely going to use it again! That's my make, now it's your turn!

Aarrggghh!! It's A Prettie Quirky Guy in Brown and Blue!

Happy May the 6th! Two of my ponies were born on May the 6th, many years ago. Bother! I missed May the Force be with you, Day... So it has to be Sunday and that means it must be challenge time again, and that's just what it is, the next theme for the...
set by Caro, is...
Masculine,
something for a guy, man, boy and to use the colours
Brown and Blue!!
See easy!! We're sponsored by Paper Pretties who are offering our winner 6 digi images of their choice!
Here's my card. What y'think? I worked hard on that sentiment!
To start with, I coloured the edge of a pearl card with a brown ProMarker, edged some blue dotty paper with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The 6x6 paper stack came free with Paper Crafts Inspirations Magazine this month. (Link HERE to some more of their freebie papers!)
Edged and inked another bit of pearl card with brown, added the sky paper, (from a freebie paper stack 'Let's Fly Away' from Quick Cards made easy) along with the digi from our sponsors called AAAGGGHHH!! (I might have spelt that wrong!) I did turn him into a clear background PNG, then printed out three digi's (One printed over the sky and the others left normal) so I could do a bit of 3D-ing. He is very thin though, so decided not to add a third layer. Actually, it would've been easy if I'd just added his head and body as the third layer (??? Brain's now thinking have I got time to do that?...No! Oh go on, it'll make him look a bit fatter... oh...okay...next picture has an extra layer, making him have three bodies and three pairs of paws, but no extra arms or legs or tail or ears!! Bet you don't notice!!!)
I coloured him using browns and blues, used silicone glue to fix the bits together, added the ribbons and bronze pearls and a blue and brown buttons. The blue button has Hazard embossed onto it, so I just had to use it, nothing more hazardous than jumping out of an aeroplane!
The little chain dangling swivel thing is from a fishing packet of whatknots. (so much cheaper than crafty whatknots!)
The font is a Freebie, it's called CK Man's Print. I though it was just right, seeing it's a 'man card'. You can download it HERE! or just Google the name, but some sites do charge for it.
That's it! Hop over to Quirky Crafts and join in!!

Quirky Sneak Peek and Another Hidden Freebie

Hi, I'm back. And what a scarrrry shock to find I had no email or Blog on my return! Google thought some one from Russia or Saudi Arabia had hacked into my account, so closed everything down! How do I explain it was only little me, on hubby's 3G dongle, in the middle of a muddy field in Cornwall!? So there's a warning for you. Watch where you use your dongle!
Nuff dongle jokes. Here's a sneak peek of my next DT card for the Quirky Crafts Challenge, which starts tomorrow (Sunday) evening, round about 6-ish. Easy one this time, Caro's set the theme for this fortnight, so no excuse, we what to see hundreds of entries!
Now you're here, I'd love to do a bit of research. Nothing too tricky, just tell us (me) what is your favourite type of challenge? Colour, sketch, Easel card, Use flowers, animals, people, shoes, Recipe, Anything Goes? Use Stamps, Use Digi's? Embossing, distressing, whatever! It would be very interesting to see...
Now, as the title above suggests, there is a freebie digi hidden somewhere in this post. Not going to give you any clues to where or what it is, because as I type, I haven't the foggiest! Happy Hunting!

It's A Quirky Wiper Card!

Evening Everyone!! ((wave)) It's that Quirky time again.... when I sit somewhere else and worry that I didn't set the timer! But luckily it's Diane's turn to set it, over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog and we all know how she loouves to make us use own brains and do something waaaay out of our comfort zone (waaaaaay out of my comfort zone anyway!) We have a fabulous sponsor, with lovely Digi's as prizes!...(drum roll please!)
DDbadge2011
...who's offering the winner, judged by, Mio, (that's me, just is case you thought I'd changed my name) Caro, Diane and Cazzy with....
a $5 voucher to spend in their store!
$5 store gift cert
Isn't that a pretty little banner?!
The Theme, Diane has set is (wait for it) is an easy theme...(but there's more!)
Animal Antics!
Read on, for the cardmakers among you she wants to see your animal antics on a
WIPER CARD!?!
You may of course, if you don't 'do' cards, enter a scrapbook page or 3D project, but we must be able to see the animal antic connection. Okay? Got that? Well, here's a video link on...
Diane's probably put a link on the challenge blog too. (If not I will!) So there's no excuse! It honestly is very easy!
Right! Here's my card! What d'think? It's not bad considering I'm rubbish at measuring! I did cheat a bit, by just cutting an A4 animal print piece of card in half, (had it for years, knew it would come in handy one day!) cutting it to size lengthways then putting in the folds, otherwise I would've had to use two bits of animal print card...and I didn't have two!
So, even though it's a tiny bit smaller, I think it works all right! Quite cute really!
I've used Cupcake Timmy and Tim the Tiger from our sponsors. I've 3D-ed the tiger on the front of the card, (cut off his tail) coloured him with ProMarkers, fixed him on with silicone glue...
I first copied the digi from where I'd saved it and pasted it on to a blank Word page, made it a bit bigger, copied it so I had two the same, added the sentiment under one of them, so it looked as though he was sitting on it.
The font I used is a freebie and after yesterdays card, where I used GoodDog font, I wondered if there was a BadDog font and there was! You can download BadDog HERE. I then added the other little tiger, left one about the same size as it appears on the page and made another one a little bigger (That's now on the back of the card)
I fixed the smaller tiger onto the 'wiper' bit. I'd already added the sentiment around it, but this time put the words 'Have A GRRRR8! Birthday!! into 'WordArt', selected the box with the curved wording and once that was on the page with the tigers, pressed Text Wrapping and then 'Tight'
This lets you pull the words into a circle, so I just curved it around the tiger, till I was happy with it and printed it out.
The pop up was punched out using a large Woodware punch, which is bigger than the inch strip it's glued to, but if you fix it to one side, so that you can't see it once the card is closed, it doesn't seem to matter how big/long the pop up is, just the card holding it has to be the same size as the gap between the folds...and that's as clear as mud to me, and I typed it!! (Watch the video link above...it's easier that it sounds!!)
I am hoping to make another wiper card...I can just see a Halloween Penny Black Cat with a Big BOO! popping up. I'll try if I have time, but am really busy next week! In fact I'm sooo busy I've decided to leave both the freebies (hidden in the two posts below this one) there for a little longer.
Hubby John took a very quick video ( a few seconds! Blink and you'll miss it!) of me playing with my wiper card... don't look at the garden, it's very messy (no change there then!) and needs a dig! That's it for now. See you over at Quirky Craft's, come and join in! Thank you for stopping by!
