Blast From The Past!

Every Monday I'm going to (or try to!) add a card, or creation that I made waaay back, as I've noticed a lot of my pictures from years ago have disappeared. So...here we go with something from either the 1st of the month, first time I'd used or done something or... made on a Monday or made in the same month as now! This card was posted 12th June 2013. Not sure what this fold is called, if anyone knows, please let me know!

Birthday Darling Hubby, John!

Well, he is my rock, only far better than a rock. (he does the cooking!) He was up so early this morning he didn't have time to open any of his cards... never mind, he'll be too busy to sneak in here and peek! This is the card I made him. Both of us had motorbikes and we used to have a motor-bike shop.
When the girls  were babies, we lived over it, but the need for a garden and smell of engine oil drifting up into all the rooms soon made us jump onto the mortgage boat, and buy our own little home, with a tiny garden and a little later to where we are now. No more bikes, but John's only got to sniff the sight of one, and I know he misses them!
Back to the card. KennyK image. (Yes I bought this one back in March BUT It's now the June Freebie HERE! left sidebar when you get there) First I was going to do that acetate thing I did with the seahorses, but it didn't quite work out, (Flip the digi and then stick the two together, and print it out on acetate too, and then fix that together ~but I forgot to put a cord/thread through the middle to attach it to the card~ so did this version of a sort of gate fold instead, but not.
It's a bit top heavy as it's an 8x8 card, with a 5 and a half x 5 and a half  card used as the topper (Why isn't there a half sign on the keyboard?) so I've added acetate to the bottom of the smaller card topper to help stabilise it.
We used to go and watch bike scrambling, (more skilful!) not Dirt Bike racing, but never mind!
I couldn't think of what papers to use, so didn't! Just black, yellow and red card, and a bit of embossing, and die cutting (only my old Bigshot wasted loads of scraps of card, by not cutting! Grrrr)  One of the inside embossing was made using a freebie folder, which came in this months Simply Cards and Papercraft, which also came with some stamps too!
Of course I've coloured up with ProMarkers (with the tiny tip addition...the metal tip ones work far better, the others didn't work at all, but Letraset kindly send me replacements awhile back!) Did hunt the internet for a coloured picture of this, to give me some idea of what was what, but could only find a very small one, in mostly grey, so, went with yellow and red instead.
There's a little D attachment, to the side of the top card, which I bought in a gardening store, 3p each, can't be bad! and the 'manly' cord ribbon came off a bosh carrier bag!
Freebie Fonts: I've used Cool Dots and Smarty Pants BTN  there's the link to download, or just google the names. That's it I think! Happy Birthday John, see you later! Hope to add this to same...

OSAAT's Oh Boy It's a Man Challenge

Did you guess The Next One Stitch At A Time Challenge? I thought the title in my sneak peak might have given it away. Pop over and see who won the last challenge and who the top three are, fabulous makes every single one of them, but meanwhile in case you haven't cottoned on, OSAAT's next challenge will be...(a little ding on the triangle please...)

Boys to Men.

Okay!! that's easy!! We would like to see loads of your lovely cards, ATC's, Fat pages, scrap book pages, altered art, coasters, door hanging thingies, in fact anything you can create, which has been made for all the men in our lives. (Bless them) Husbands, boyfriends, sons, dads, nephews, grandsons, grandads, great grandads, uncles, bother-in-laws, son-in-laws, the milk man... oh, and brothers! (How could I forget?) Whoever, as long as your make is aimed for a 'male' you can enter it into the challenge. (I'm dying to see how many elephants we get dressed in pink tu-tu's! or... how many cards will be made for the prized tom-cat or beloved pooch in your life!!)
This week OSAAT is being sponsored by Sew Many Challenges, so, (wait for it!!) your prize is a whopping 5 digi's from Sewn Together!
Sew
...no more chit chat! Go create!!!

Oops, nearly forgot! What about my card?! I've used Pink Petticoat Papers all in Blueberry Blue. (The first time I've used those clouds) The little 'rhyme' I made up. The font I've used is, of course a freebie and is called The Gingerbread House and you can download it HERE . One drawback, it has houses for fullstops and trees for question marks, with no other bits and bobs and there also doesn't appear to be a number 4. But who needs that!
Three new followers have suddenly appeared!! (They do that y'know) They're all out the back and in the dark with no pictures, so a big (((wave))) and thank you for following to Paperpapier, who has some lovely cards on her blog! Nicola, who at the moment has no link and Auntie Lorna, who actually hasn't got a blog (yet!) but she makes fabulous ATC's!! I know because I've got some!
That's it for now... I have some hungry people arriving any minute, and there's craft stuff all over the dining table!! Thank you for stopping by.

Birthday Tilda

Did this little pint sized Tilda card for a card competition on one of the forums I'm on. Card Making & PaperCraft, which was really lucky as I also had to make a very quick card for a forum buddy who joined the birthday card list about two days before her birthday!! So, off it went...hope she liked it..
Of course the Tilda was already coloured with Promakers and Copic pens and cut out, otherwise I guess she would've taken a little bit longer. I put half the card into the embossing folder, used the ribbon to cover the bit that didn't get embossed and for something for Tilda to sit on.
Normally I would've probably put this card onto a larger card as a topper and added more bling, more flowers and at least one butterfly, but it doesn't look too bad...except for the flowers...couldn't find my quickie glue pen anywhere so dabbed a bit of PVA glue onto the centre of the flowers and then spilt the glitter everywhere! Aw well...at lest it wasn't milk!

**Update!!! My Card won the competition!!**

Thank U

This was a quicky thank you card I did a couple of weeks ago. All Pink Petticoat Papers and Images, coloured with Promakers and Copic Pens. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, as I'd run out of ink. It was suppose to be one of my 'Pocket Cards' to put stamped images in but I had to make it a little bit smaller so the paper would fit. It changed colour towards the end of the print. Sometimes when this happens it can be okay and you get a great new colour, (red turns pink) but this time it was a bit too wishy-washy, so I cut it off. Gez won a guessing game I did on one of my 'Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday' Posts...or in Gez's case, it's What's On Your Washer Wednesday!! Some ATC's coming up tomorrow and maybe..two sneaky peeks...Thanks for stopping by!

It's A Quirky Christmas Challenge!

Yes it's that Quirky time again, the time where there's nothing much on telly and you and the cat keep falling asleep on the sofa if you don't do something!! So, here I am, with a cup of tea and a chocy bisqwit, poised and ready to start typing, splinted finger, stuck up out of the way! So I think I'd better load up my DT Christmas Card!!!
Yay!! Who guessed right?? I know, it was easy, you spotted the snowflake on the sneaky peak didn't you? It's Cassy's turn in deciding what to do this time round and she has chosen a Christmas Theme!! Which is quite good really, seeing I've made this Chrismas card!
Other DT members have made an Exploding Box, a Tilda Christmas card, some Christmas tree cards and an altered decorated tin! All good stuff!
I'm also going to enter this card into two other Challenges. (she sez as she flips tho' all the open pages on FireFox trying to find them!)
First one is Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge Blog, (try saying that fast with your teeth in upside down!) This weeks Challenge over there is to use Freebie papers from Crafty Magazines! Well, you've all got loads of them haven't you!!? All these papers I've used in making this card were from Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine. (choose Quick Cards Made Easy, Issue 66 for these papers when you click on the link above and you'll be able to download three sheets of Christmas backing paper..but there's loads of others there too!) Every month you get a set of freebie papers with the magazine, but what I like most is, you can go to their web site and download them and keep them forever! (Or until you're bored or your computer blows up!) In my view the papers are better printed than used straight from the mag. Some Mags print a different design on the other side so you have to choose which one to use. (Silly b-b-bears)
The Digi Santa is a freebie download from the Digital-Ink Co Challenge Blog...In this Challenge you have to create any paper craft, using at least one Digital-Ink Co. Stamp and also a line from any Christmas Song (I think, but you know I'm a rubbish speller and reader it might mean the whole song!) Anyway! I've typed Jingle Bells on the inside of this card as there wasn't enough room on the front! With the freebie Santa there's also a Snowman's face and a ...squirrel!
Another freebie?? The Font of course! It's called Teacher's Pet and you can download it HERE
The larger font I've used inside the card for the Merry Christmas is also a freebie, (it must be somewhere if I've got it!) but only if you can find it!! Most sites want money or a password! It's called Freehand519 BT and as soon as I've found a freebie link I'll let you know!

Well, that's it! Add a bit of Stickles Glitter and a few 3D foam pads to finish off.
We've had quite a productive afternoon/evening here. Tom and Emma have had a go at Heat Embossing and have 'borrowed' my Heat Gun for the week...I know what someone will be getting in their Christmas stocking this year besides a lump of coal, an orange and some mixed nuts....!!and it won't be a squirrel! Thanks for stopping by!
*Update!!!* This card won a prize on the Digital-Ink Co Challenge blog!!

Quirky Men Challenge!

Oh no! Look at the time!! It's nearly tomorrow! Oh well, never mind! (Thank goodness blogger is behind!) Here is my DT Card for The Quirky Forum Challenge. Did you guess? Course you did!
“Masculine Theme”
This card went off to my Uncle Frank. Hope he liked it! What did I use? Ah, you'll be glad to know all the papers were freebies! The little scissor brad is by Woodware and so are the screw brads. The other little button ladder, screw driver and paint pot I bought from a market some time ago and of course the clear stamped image is from the Bubble and Squeak range, but I've forgotten which one this is, as I'm still dog sitting! (I'll add it in later) He's been coloured with ProMaker pens and stamped onto a rectangle cut using my Nestabilites (and my Bigshot) YouTube Video for colouring with ProMakers Here
The spanner paper is from MadAboutCards. Look out for their other papers if you haven't all ready found them (I know all you oldies will have them but some of you newbies might not!) The brown checked or gingham paper you should have if you've found my links before. Click here for the website and here for the pastel gingham papers (link on my side bar too) and HERE for the dark gingham papers. And the font??Oh pooh I can't remember what that was... It's times like this, when I wish I didn't have sooo many fonts! But you've gotta have 'em! haven't you!
I'll pop back later and let you know! (Meanwhile, there's a link on my side bar to some freebie hand written type fonts!) I've found it...it's one I used not long ago, so you should have it. It's called Big Log and you'll find the free download HERE
What else? I coloured the little bear with my ProMakers, (you've said that!) and everything was fixed on either with 3D foam pads, photo or silicon glue! Back tomorrow...I mean later today. (Or maybe not!) Oh and we haven't a new follower, just me!! I found out I can email people easier if I followed myself...well, I usually meet myself getting up most days anyway! Thanks for stopping by!

Quirky's Recipe Challenge 15

Here it is!
(Sorry, I'm a bit late, I kept thinking the clock in my craft room was the 'old time' and it wasn't!) This wasn't going to be a Christmas Card... but... as you can see, it is! Challenge 15 is Anne's idea. (Chocolate Fudge Cake)
A Recipe Challenge
One ribbon, two shades of pink and three eyelets.
It was lovely but at the same time quite tricky, I kept wanting to print out blue. Just stick a sheet of pink paper on the card, I told myself. I used Pink Petticoat papers, because I knew I'd have loads of different pinks to choose from, but, what I didn't realise is, not all pinks look good together. I made the flowers next, then wrapped the ribbon around the second pink and fixed the bow on with silicone glue. Then before I attached that and the flowers to the card with 3D foam pads I used my Crop-a-Dial (that's pink too!) to fix in the silver eyelets. But I still hadn't decided on an image. I had all sorts spread out across my work bench but none of them would do. I even coloured a few in, but once that happened, the extra colour just didn't look right. So I left the image and decided to add some silver sequins to the flowers to match the eyelets.
Sitting on my laptop were about a dozen 'leaves' in black and white that I'd punched out when I first opened up my new punch. I picked up the white leaves placed them around the flowers and added some Stickles glitter and at once it became a Christmas card, without using any Christmas papers!
When I opened my folder of stamped images, the page fell open, and there at the top were the kissing hedgehogs! Perfect! So I didn't have to add too much colour because the white instantly became snow!
"Merry Kissmas" was done on my laptop in 'rose' rather than pink and the result is...a pink Christmas card! The font is a FREEBIE and is called Honey Script and you can down load it HERE where you'll find two font files, light and semi bold. (Click the pic to make it larger so you can see the font!)
As you can see, the lighting wasn't very good today. The 'blue-ish' picture at the top was actually done outside, where I had to wrestle with the wind! (I won't tell you what the white is, I'll let you guess!) Pop over To the Quirky forum, I know you all love pink, and make whatever tickles your fancy!!

Quirky Shopping ATC's

Another beautifully hot Summer's day. Hope you've all been out in your new bikini's sunning yourselves! No? me neither...the world is not ready for me in a bikini! Martians, perhaps but definitely not that! (shudder)
I aimed to finish the card I was doing yesterday, along with a couple of other things, but still no photo glue and a round trip of nearly forty miles for a £1.99 tube of glue really would add to my carbon-footprint! Hopefully, my on-line order should be here tomorrow!
We've spent most of the afternoon in the garden with John's Mum and Les, talking them out of going to Curry's to buy a new TV and to buy one on line instead. (A lot cheaper!) After a packet of Jaffa Cakes and two cups of tea, that's what we did! ...And talking about 'shopping' (were we?) I've made a few ATC's for the Quirky Forum Swap. "Shopping" Hmmm, okay, I know everyone will probably be doing shoes and clothes and pretty things, but shopping to me means a trip to Tesco's to buy Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, Nescafe Cappuccino, bananas, cat food, chocolate, oh and not forgetting the Radio Times and a Crafty Magazine! So...that's what I've done. Found some tiny pictures of said above, scanned them, cut them out and stuck them down using a glue stick. (Not keen on using a glue stick on cards) The backing papers were freebies, flowers, watering cans and gardening tools, but is well hidden.(I used them, because I like going shopping for gardening things too!)
I added a star (for bargains) a brad, for...well, like a clipboard thingy for your shopping list, and a heart because, I heart Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. I then added a few words like, crafts, chocolate, yum, shop, on line and a couple of arrows, which I coloured using my one and only permanent ProMarker!!! No good? I'm not sure either. One of the ATC's has a real till receipt...Kit-Kat's, Cat food and a Crafty mag clearly marked! I only need two for the Challenge...haven't decided which two yet. Maybe I'll make a couple of pretty ones as well!
It's not quite midnight yet, so before I go I'd love to say a big hello and welcome to three new followers! (((Wave))) First Shirley, Nannieflash who has some fantastic cards full of bling and all things shinny. Pop over and say hi! Elaine, over on Quixotic Cards and The Copic Colour Challenge Beautifully fantastic cards coloured (of course) with Copic pens, (hunt out the Web-Shop too, for some lovely charms!) And last but by no way least, Riet who has trillions of followers and a truly lovely blog filled with amazing cards., I don't think I've found a blog with so many comments! Please pop over and take a look. These blogs are just yummy, and full of ideas and inspiration!
Back tomorrow, with any luck, with some more Blog Awards and a couple of makes, one a very late Birthday Card for a forum buddy. (Sorry...no glue!)

Charming Edwin

It's been really hot today! Summer's here at last! (Shh! It'll rain tomorrow now!) I've been out in the garden for most of the day and I thought I'd just quickly get this in before Britain's got Talent comes back on! Is there anyone in Britain watching anything else tonight?
Here's a little Star. Charming Edwin, he's rather cute, isn't he, with his lovely bunch of red roses. I coloured him with the ProMarkers. (I think I can safely say they're mine now, shhh!) I'm happy with the jeans but the jumper? Welllll...it looks like I washed it!! Sort of shrunk and faded! I wanted it a fraction darker around the edges and without thinking I picked up the wrong colour in a Whispers pen. I really think the Whisper Pens should be numbered or named! The times I've picked up the wrong 'red' and it's turned out to be the dull pink, or a rose that's had an argument with a pale purple. Used the K& Co papers again, sorry to be boring but I wanted to use up some of the bits. I save all the bits, no bit is too small! The lacy 'ribbon' is self sticky, but had a few little tears (as in 'tares' not the watery kind) so I added the flowers to hide that. The Do-craft 'Just for You' was stamped onto the oval, once I'd punched it out. The 'Crafts too' punch jammed ~this was with paper, and I had to unscrew it to get it free again. Really not happy with that punch, but it's so useful! The slightly larger oval, which it's mounted onto is a Woodware. Soooo much easier to use. I cheated a bit with the insert as it's a copy of the one lower down the blog, I ran it through the scanner, but no one will notice!
John's been dying to get into the picture for ages, so here he is! The other evening while I was busy taking pictures, he suddenly appeared in the hall outside the craft room and said, "Take a picture of me!" And he began posing in various Mr Universe posies~but at the same time, drawing my attention to what was behind him, in our bedroom...he'd only gone and piled up all the ironing....six basket's full! I do use my ironing board! Honest! It's great for crafting!
Before I go I'd love to welcome four, no! another's just arrived! Five new followers! Thank you so much for joining us, we have enough for a right real rave now!
Stillcrazybutcute' (Ha could be me!) no, StillCrazybutcute is the one in the hat! Love that hat!! Pop overand see Madeline's cute blog! Sandie, who some of you know and are also following. There's some lovely pictures and ATC's over on her blog, please nip over and see. Mel (who appears as a very cute rabbit~ I had a wabbit like that once!) she has a very new blog with some truly original cards, beautifully coloured and some Pink Petticoats (one of my favs) and of course, a picture of a rabbit.. then it's hi to Debs. Please pop over and see some of her lovely cards, they are really worth a look!! Lovely works of art and great colours using copic pens (Are they better than ProMaker I wonder??) And last but not least, Lorraine over on Coldwaters2, who I found tonight, while blog hopping and also has a picture of a rabbit! Lovely lovely Tilda sitting on her watering-can and a cute worm (which I tried to email for the freeby image but I have the wrong email, aw shame!)
Undate on Willy The Worm, I've now got him! (I've put in links now)
It's The Old Gaffer's Festival over on The Isle of Wight all this weekend, so we'll be nipping over to Yarmouth tomorrow. Have a good Sunday!!
