A Spooky Pumpkin

Found this little pumpkin freebie over on Forgotten Scraps, but hurry it may not be there for long! First I sliced a bit off the front of the card, so you can see the colours on the inside, only no matter what, it's quite hard to get the card to pose so you can see that! I've used up a lot of scrap paper making this  Halloween card. First I 3D-ed the pumpkin. Running out of silicone/gel glue, so I rummaged through my 'glue and sticky things' box and used that 'Stick It!' silicone glue I swore I'd never  use again as it bleeds through the card and leaves a greasy stain.. Hence the leaves and the pumpkin's nose looks splotchy.
Found my bat punch, only it wasn't a bat punch as such, it was a corner bat punch by Martha Stewart and was right in front of my nose all the time, (well, a little higher than the top of my head) hanging from my Ikea rod along the wall.
Freebie  Papers. The orange Spotty and the brown spiderwebs are from. Summer Times Designs by Summer Driggs Boo-tiful-night-kit. My ink is on its way out (again!) so the colours may not be quite the right shade. I put these two papers together in Word, added the pumpkin, plus another, so I could 3D it, then after printing it, coloured the pumpkin with Promarkers. I added the gold micro glitter on the pumpkin, hoping to hide the stain from the glue, but I think I've made it worse.
The Ghost/pumpkin/bats paper is from  is from the Bearly Mind's Store
I've edged everything with Tim Holtz, mowed lawn Distress Ink. The rest of the papers are PinkPetticoat.
The Font is a freebie. It's called JI Skookumchuck download it HERE or just Google the name.
I think that's it!  Thank you for stopping by! oops...nearly forgot... our lodger cat's real name is Brono...nope, still going to call him Jinxsy! Hoping to add this to some...

Anything But a Quirky Card!!

Hi guys! Hope all are well and fighting fit! And those who aren't please get well soon. It's that Quirky Time again when I wonder if it really is Sunday or am I still dreaming and it's Monday morning and I've forgot to go to work... (I did do that last week!) Anyway!! We have a new challenge starting over on Quirky Crafts challenge blog, sponsored by Robyn's Fetish. Don't forget to read the post! Loads last time didn't and missed adding 'stuff' to their fabulous creations, so couldn't really be counted! This fortnight  it's Caro's turn to set the theme and she has chosen...
A.B.C. which means Anything But a Card using Autumn Colours!!
Here's my make.  I've done a bit of recycling and used a black bag I had some pressies in. Cut it down a bit, and then covered it with some orangey/browny Halloween papers (by Bearly Mine, a mixture of bought as well as freebies, and made a Trick Or Treat Bag. Find them,  HERE and here... here and here (although they may all lead to the same place) On the front of the bag I've added BearlyAPumpkin   by our sponsor, which is  on sale at the moment $2.50 now $1.63 (Not sure what that is in pounds) and some punched out Tags using up some scraps, one of those is a PinkPetticoat  paper and the Boo paper is by....ummmm? Linked it before.....here's a card I made using the Boo papers HERE and the freebie papers can be found HERE That should keep you busy for a little while!
I've added eyelets and eyelash wool to black cord handles and a little silver coloured metel clip to help keep it closed.
The Font is a freebie. It looks like bones and is called HeadHunter download it HERE
Hope my Trick or Treat bag gives you some ideas. For more just pop over to Quirky Crafts to see what the rest of the team has come up with!
New Followers! ...Hi and a ((big wave)) to Mary van Skiver, Sewnsew1943, Megha Jain, (No blog links) also, Hoptown Racer1 has moved up from out the back with a picture and a link! (which is always nice!) pop into Christina's  Catnip and kitty whiskers and say hi!
Sorry if you joined ages ago and  I missed you out! Sometimes  if you get put in the middle rather than at either end it's harder to see who's 'new'... This is on timer, family are round for a late dinner. Thank you for popping by!!

A Frostie Freebie from Bugaboo!! (CLOSED)

Yay it's Friday, and here's my card using the  Bugaboo Friday Freebie! Isn't he just too cute!?! So, don't sit there reading this, get over to Bugaboo and grab this cute snowman before he melts!!
My Card...Freebie  'Snowman Star' digi from Bugaboo HERE. (**If you're coming later, you'll find a different freebie here now) I've 3D-ed  him and the star, coloured with Promarkers. Added micro glitter. The papers are by Raspberry Road Designs Christmas Collections inside and out and the element 'Jingle bells' is from the Raspberry Road Christmas Accessories CD are both freebies from Quick Card Made Easy Magazine last month.
The sentiment was done on the computer. The shape is the same shape I've used inside the card, I just cut it out using my BigShot (with the words already typed on the paper)and then moved the die-cut up until it made that shape.
I've also added a gold peel off corner, gold peel off snowflakes and some eye-lash wool.
The font is a freebie, it's called KG Eyes Wide Open (I've linked it before I think) download it HERE.
The snowy paper behind the snowman I made on the computer and you can download that HERE free too! I put the snowy paper and the PNG Snowman into Word. Fiddled with the size, put the  snowman over the snow/sky,  copied another snowman, cut off his arms and the scarf behind him, then fixed over the top of the first using silicone glue. The tiny holly was made by a tiny Woodware punch.
That's it! Thank you for stopping by! Off to add this to some...

A Lilly Freebie From Bugaboo, freebie papers and font

First, sorry I haven't had time to do a freebie just lately, will do one as soon as possible. In the meantime, here's this weeks Bugaboo Freebie. I had it before so I meant to sneak it out early, but put tomorrows date by mistake, which is why it's only just posted! You can download this freebie all week here. *No Longer a freebie... but the link still goes to Bugaboos latest freebie.
The card. First I  played with the PNG image in PaintNet, as there was a tiny bit of the clear background in the middle where the leaves cross over, still white and not clear....(I know what I mean!) so once I'd made that bit clear too, I coloured it in PaintNet. Took the coloured digi into Word and laid it over the background paper. Freebie downloads from BearlyMine. But then went back into PaintNet with the background paper  and used the colour dipper thingy so I could colour the pocket using the same shade of blue as the background... (There's probably an easier way, but I haven't worked it out yet!) Then....I?? oh, added the 'With Love' on the pocket of one of them. Now this next bit is different ...I printed it all out on découpage paper. (same a brochure paper, 128gsm, pack of 12 from Do-Crafts, which I bought £1.19 from Trago Mills (Cornwall) when I was down that way a few weeks ago) Cut it all out, fixed it together using 3D foam pads.
The digi is the same size as it comes. I haven't made it smaller or larger, just to make sure I kept all three images the same size, as one of them, (with the sentiment) wasn't copied. (Of course I could've just copied three images of the digi with the sentiment and printed that out, but I didn't. (head filled with sticky dots) Anyway, I fixed them so that the leaves curled a bit and the flowers weren't directly over the flowers below them. Added the completed decoupage to silver miri board and then to blue card, and then added a white insert.
The Font is a freebie. It's called  Ancestory SF download it HERE or Google the name.
In my first attempt at this, I coloured the images with Promarkers. It wasn't too bad, (the Promarkers do not bleed through the découpage paper) but, the pocket being such a large area to colour, looked as if I'd used water colour paints. Not 100% pleased with the printable découpage paper. The printed ink colour has bled a little in the centre of the lillies where the yellow meets the black but maybe it would be okay printing out a 'real' decoupage sheet rather than a home made one! That's it! One card made entirely with freebies! Thank you for stopping by. Hoping to add a few...

Happy Birthday Mason Rain! 3 Today!

I can hardly believe that my grandson Mason is three years old today, and three years ago I was typing in a Seattle Motel on my blog letting you all know he'd arrived into the World safe and sound!
Maria emailed me last week (just before we left, still away by the way, should be back later today) that he was into Diego (who? I know Dora, the shouty little 'explorer') and directed me to Colouring Pages For Kids  So here's Mason's card from me and his G-pops, as Maria calls her dad! What's wrong with Granddad? Grandad! (sorry it might be spelt wrong but I like it with one D!) You'll be happy sad to know, the freebie papers I used from PaperCraft Inspirations magazine 'Wild Thing' from waaay back in 2009 are still available HERE BUT are no longer free (sorry!) although they are only 99p to download the whole set. There's a link on my side bar that should take you to some of their other downloadable freebies  (worth a visit but I'm sure you have to 'sign in')
The Card, first covered in green,  then black card, then the Jungle paper. Added some brown raffia, then added the image, coloured with Promarkers, of course. Fixed on some punched out leaves from the same paper and, very rare for me, used gold peel-offs for the Happy Birthday and the number 3. (Woodware round punch and a small scalloped circle Nestie)
I'm sure the paws and the bug buttons came from one of those huge crafty stores near Seattle. (when we were over for Mason's birth, now they're on their way back!) In the shop they were in a large container and you just helped yourself to what you wanted. So much better than having to buy about 5 for £2, when 3 of them you don't really want!
The Font, I've used on the inside of the card, is one of my favourites. It's called Pea Leslie's Happy Font, Download HERE (Link always on sidebar) It comes with smiley faces, clouds, stars and the word 'Love' is the = or + sign!
I had one day home from dog sitting, before we zoomed off again (when I typed this post out) only to find Blogger had at last (after threatening to for months, I kept changing it back!) changed me over to the 'new' format and what a load of old twiddle it is!! The pictures won't go where you want them and at least with the 'old stile' you could change the size of pictures further even though you'd selected 'small' or 'large', and where's the 'proper' preview? When I previewed this post it was suddenly on my blog! I think they've gone backwards rather then improving it. But! I quite like the strike button and always said, it needed an 'undo button' Anyway, That's it! We should be back later today, when I hope I can add some...

Down On The Quirky Farm!

It's That Quirky Time Again!!! Quirky Crafts Challenge should have started over on the challenge blog. And if you're reading this, yay! the timer's worked! It is Caro's turn to set the theme this week and being a country girl (like me!) and remembering all those hot summer days playing around on the farm as a child, Caro's decided that this challenge will be....
Recycling on the Farm
Easy! Anything to do with farms, animals, barns, tractors etc BUT she would also like you to include at least one recycled element on your creation! (Ok...who thought of manure??)
We are lucky enough to have two sponsors this week. More prizes!! The first prize, chosen by the design team, will receive some lovely 'Moo' ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, and the second prize is a $5 gift voucher from our other sponsor Digital delights.
I didn't make a card this time. I made this Alphabet Hanging thing-me-jig, the idea is, once you have all twenty six made they could lace or clip together like a book..(or hang around a room) I used cardboard from a cat food box as my recycled thing and some garden raffia from the green house. (I dusted off the cobwebs first!) The tiny buttons I'm sure are by Woodware. The chicken ribbons you can see in the top photo, came from Crafty Ribbons (I won loads of them one Easter!)
I've coloured both Farmer Giles and Claudia Cow with Promarkers from our sponsors and put them together, in Word. No 3D-ing this time, just the one layer.
I was going to just use the 'grass' and flowers paper, but I didn't have enough. (think that came from Hobby Craft) The brown whirly paper behind it, came in a 'Goody Bag' called Sugar & Spice by Dovecraft. Also have some clear stamps and brads to match (Note to self ..use them!)
The font I've used you probably already have, it's called Arial Rounded MT Bold or Google the name.

I've also been having a go at making a new 'Badge' for the store. I've added it to the corner of some of the pictures. Not sure about the yellow, might change it to blue...or green...maybe blue! I've used my Hedgie with his Watering Can. What d'you think? It's not quite finished but I'm quite chuffed with myself seeing I have cheese for brains! Thanks really goes to the Bugaboo Bear, which I have to add to my Catch the Bug GDT cards, didn't I get mad with that!!! And then it just suddenly clicked how I could do the same with this badge, which I've had kicking around for ages. That's it! Call into Quirky Craft and have a go! Thanks for stopping by! Back laters to add some...

Life's A Beach!

Hi Guys! Been trying to get this card finished for a sketch challenge on FaceBook and also add it to Bugaboo's 'All About Seasons' challenge too! Very sorry to those of you who following by email... I'll have to edit this post quite a bit later!!
I'll be back to tell you where to find the freebie font, add more pictures, show you how I made it, (show you a picture anyway...) and to add more challenges, if they are still going on.
Blogger's being very slow this afternoon, I'll be here 'til next Christmas at this rate and I want to get out into the SUN!!! It's that BIG yellow thing out there in the BLUE sky (It won't last) See you later!
**Part Two!! Evening! As I said above, this card was mainly for Chocolate, Coffee and Cards FaceBook Challenge, to use their sketch and to add red. Weeeellll... I used carmine, which is red but slightly a pinker red, but with another twist, it's all done with a Promarker, as you can see by the picture below. I've not used red or black card at all, just edged it with the Promarker. Even so, there's a lot of layers, mostly put together using silicon glue.
I've also 3D-ed the Bugaboo Monkey, by cutting off one of his arms, his tail and his ears! (I'm soooo mean!) and given him my own sea-side background.
The brad, from my stash, has a sun face... might be the only one we get to see this summer, more rain is promised for the rest of the week!! (I'll be growing webbed feet at this rate!!)
All the backing papers are off-cuts from my Pink Petticoat bits and pieces folder. (Throw Nothing away-give nothing back yo-ho-ho me hearties yo-ho-ho!)
The swirly paper has been embossed with a Cuttlebug Heart folder (To go with the heart on the monkeys bum and the tiny hearts on the lighter paper) I've also used my crab punch and for the first time ever, the tiny little dolphin punch. (I must have had that five years or more!)
Then just to add a bit of interest in the other corners, I've add a few tiny gems, fixed on using my Quickie Glue Pen.
To finish off I did a bit mock stitching. Even the red (carmine) ribbon loops are made of paper and coloured with a Promarker.
The font is a freebie. It's called, very appropriately, Janda Silly Monkey (Y'see I don't just throw these posts together, they are carefully planned... and if you believe that you're a monkey's uncle....) by Kimberly Geswein and yes! there is a monkey!!! I love the monkey! (see the monkey inside the card...don't strain your glass eye, make the picture bigger!) You can download the font HERE (other sites are available!)
New Follower! Hi and a big ((WAVE)) to Cheryl, who hasn't a link... yet! That's it for now. Thank you for stopping by!

It's Just a Little Quirky Number!

Well, it just had to be that title really, didn't it! My turn to set the new challenge over on the Quirk Crafts Challenge blog and I've chosen...
NUMBERS!!
Easy Peezy! It means all you have to use on your crafty creation, is a number or numbers! 25th of December! Happy 99th Birthday! Numbered papers, a shaped Numbers card. A numbers charm. A ticket number, a bingo card. If you can number it, it will fit into the challenge! Pop over and see what the other DT members have done! Here's my tuppence worth! I've used Ridley Birthday with his birthday cup cake from our Sponsors...
I've coloured Ridley with my Promakers. I'm never quite sure if that's a tongue or his teeth in front. In the store it's red...but I'm sure it's supposed to be his teeth! So I've left them white.
I've also 3D-ed him. There's a Ridley on the embossed Nestibilites deckled edged die-cut, (minus a bit of cake and a bit of ear) then there's a whole Ridley and then there's a Ridley without his tail and the top of his head...(ohooo a little bit Silence of the Lambs coming out in that I think...sshhsowooosh)
The papers are from w-w-way back, a small backing paper booklet, which came with a magazine, no links for that I'm afraid but you must have seen the font on commercial cards and other places. It's called Curlz MT and yes, you can download it for free HERE (other sites are available!)
I've also added brads, card candi, ribbon and green and yellow card, which I bought on line years ago and it's still in its bag!
Now, I have a little tip, if you make a card, like this one, which opens from the bottom and you're going to put some thing '
out side' the size of your card, like the sentiment, cut a bit off the card first, so it'll still fit into it's envelope or make a bigger envelope! And!! If you want to take a picture of the inside, take it before you fix the sentiment on the front..otherwise you can't turn it inside out if the sentiment is stuck on the top, like it is here! It reads, "We won't count the candles, we'll just eat the cake! Happy Birthday You Ol' Raccoon!" (for my Bro-in-law I think!)
I've added a few challenges, but blogger is being VERY slow and wouldn't save some of them! I've been out in the sunshine....yep, someone's left the door open and I escaped! Have a Crafty week! Thanks for stopping by! oh...just thought, the font on this bottom card where I've typed in Spyder's Corner, is also a freebie, it's called A Little Pot and you can download it HERE Bye for now!!

Panda The Pirate: Yo ho Ho and a glass of Milk!!

Ahoy there me Hearties!!! Here's a quickie card I made using my Panda Pirate. I think it'll make a great little card for a boy! I drew him a seaside background because he does look as though he's dancing on the sand dunes!
The backing papers are freebies from the PaperCraft Inspiration Magazine. These are available to download! (yippee!) Summer Fete Issue 88 look out for loads of others too.
I've coloured with Promarkers, cut out using a large Nestabilites scalloped circle~Skimmed a slice off the bottom and side of the card so the papers would fit, and so that I could add a shimmer of acetate.
The wavy bit at the side was going to be the bottom of the card but then the clouds would have been the wrong way round! (sshh! no one will notice!) I also drew the skull and cross bones.
The font is a freebie it's called Pieces of Eight. There's hooks, flags and skulls with crossed bones! It comes with that little map that I thought was worth saving and using too and another font Pieces of Eight Alt, which only has a few letters.
In side, I drew the sentiment and coloured over the font with Promarkers then fixed in another Panda Pirate, who is free until midnight next Tuesday!
Make a card using Panda Pirate and if it is featured in my Spyder Has Spyed post coming up later this month, you'll win a digi!!

Foot Ball Crazy...with Freebie Papers.

I was asked last week by a neighbour, Monica, to make a football card for her nephew. "Anything with a football on it, he's football mad." she told me. Of course my small brain immediately, for some reason, saw Monica's nephew as a child, not thinking at all that Monica is in her nineties and her nephew is no way a child!
I've done this before, when working as a riding instructor many years ago, a lady phoned to book a ride for her two grandchildren, so two little ponies where put by called Trigger and Daisy, only when the 'grandchildren' arrived (two strapping 6 footers in their forties) we had to quickly swap them for two much larger hunters called Cherokee and Tomahawk!
Anyway, while still 'thinking child' I made this card, using these fun freebie download papers and toppers from PaperCraft Inspirations Magazine.
I cut the card down slightly, so the papers would fit and so that I could add acetate to the front to show off both the patterned papers.
Then, suddenly realising Monica's nephew would be 60 this birthday. I didn't have anything else 'football-ish' so I downloaded a few football printables from CardsUPrint, to give Monica a choice. (I'll show you those later)
The little footballer guy on the front I fixed on using my X-shaped create a sticker thingy (no longer available from Create and Craft it appears) so I didn't have to use wet glue or double sided tape that might show on the other side of the acetate.
The font I used inside the card is a freebie too. It's called Candy Buzz BTN. Download it free HERE, but some sites do charge for it.
In the end Monica did choose this card, she said it was such fun and that her nephew would love it! and guess what? She also chose one other card~the FISHING card from last Sunday's post, "Because he loves fishing too" which is odd, and very physic, coz I'd already added the sentiments 'Another Big One', meaning a big 0 birthday and put the fishing card into a challenge as a 60th birthday card... Hmmm, very strange... but don't ask me for this weeks lottery numbers!!
**Update. Monica's nephew loved the card and he will most likely frame it! And...I've made the card again but with a slightly different inside. The free font this time is called IdolWild and you can download it HERE

OSAAT Challenge #2

It's here!! (and I'm late) The New Challenge and NEW LOOK One Stitch At A Time Challenge number two!!!
I know you didn't guess what my sneaky peek was, because this time round over on
One Stitch At A Time
it's a
Sketch!!

by one of our DT Susan

I must admit when I first saw the sketch I thought.. oh...whirly bits! ... ummm....circles, and a few more oh-ums... but then Great news came. Our fabby new Challenge this week is being sponsored by the lovely Karen from
Karen's Doodles!!

You can win three of her fabulous Digi Images and if you use one of Karen's doodles, you'll be entered into the new weekly Challenge Twice!
Did I say weekly??? Yes! From now on OSAAT is going weekly!! T
his challenge will end MIDNIGHT 6th March and the next challenge will start MIDDAY 7th March!
This cute little tiger flying with his balloons is just one of Karen's creations!! Us lucky DT members had a chance to chose one of Karen's drawings from her on-line shop.
It was a very hard choice..I had three favourites and ended up changing my mind but then as soon as I spotted this...
I knew just what I was going to do with him!! A picture formed in my mind ((ohoo scarrry!!) and suddenly the sketch was easy!!! I made Baby Mason his first Birthday Card (First time early for me as his birthday's not until September!!)

Clink on Karen's blinky below to take you over to her lovely on-line shop, you too won't be able to make up your mind!Back to the card...I printed the little tiger out twice and coloured him in using my Promaker pens and then cut round him using a scalloped Nestabilities circle, which cut off his tail and popped his balloons but that way, I still keep the strings to his balloons when I cut out the second tiger...
(with me so far??)
The second tiger was lightly rubbed on the back...that's the back of the card...although, I think he quite liked it!! to make him curve slightly. I then fixed him over the first tiger image with a blob of silicone glue, giving it a 3D effect. Then I added the balloons in the same way.
I also edged the cut sides with a little extra black. (that hides any mistakes too!)
I've used Pink Petticoat papers. The small brick stamp was from Trago Mills, so I guess that's from Do-crafts. (It was only about 50p, down from 1.49 wish there was one near me!!)
The circled writing was done on my computer. Now...I can hear you...( I can't smell, I mean spell but I can hear.) If you don't have a Karen doodle, you can use any image you have, don't forget, it's now a weekly challenge and you can use the sketch in any way you like. Scrap pages, fat pages, ATC's, cards, altered art, anything crafty!!
A Karen Freebie??? Well, shh! don't tell everyone...yes... you can pop over to her shop (click the blinky above and go hunt!) or go over to SRN Universe (or Paper Craft Planet) become a member, then join 'Karen's Doodle's' group and watch out for the followers Freebie!!
So...what are you wanting for!! Pop over to

One Stitch At A Time
and have a go!!!

Back later to add more information, which I forgotten to put here and to add where you can download the font I used on my card...it's a freebie!! oh and to add a few more pictures and any challenges I can find!!! Back Later!

New addition!! The freebie font is called Apple Butter and you can download it HERE. This has been done on 'WordArt on your computer so I could circle it and and two colours.
