Happy Birthday Tom!

I haven't done a birthday card in ages...Tom hinted on my calendar  ...'don't forget to post Son in laws birthday card'. So I hunted out a card I'd done for a design team that wasn't quite finished....saved a lot of time as a lot of the papers I wanted had already been printed out. I have quite a few ring binders, numbered and coded (I'm so sad) so I know where they are on my laptop, if I need to print more...a bit of a rush but managed to catch the post with minutes to spare. Sorry Tom, that it's not men on bikes but monkyes in boats...but there's not a lot of difference...and the moneys are cute. I was thinking, they're off for a beach/camping holiday soon so...in a way, it fits!

The image is 3D-ed by the much missed Bugaboo, and coloured with Promarkers...I made a little envelope to add a birthday treat, which....

tucks into a pocket. There's plenty of room for writing a message. The papers are all by PinkPetticoat, with the theme of the beach. I have three ringbliner files filled with their papers from decades ago, mainly because this laptop has no way of playing the CDs I had bought from them. So glad I did. That's it for now! I'm off to bed! Thank you for stopping by!

Blast from the past! #6

Every Monday I'm going to (or try to!) add a card, or creation that I made waaay back, as I've noticed a lot of my pictures from years ago have disappeared. So...here we go with something from either the 1st of the month, first time I'd used or done something or... made on a Monday or made in the same month as now! These cards were added as my favourite cards of 2012 and posted on the 1st January 2013

My Favourite cards of 2012

2012 was a really bad year for us, except of course the birth of baby Niamh!! But I wanted to join in with Debby's usual annual post of picking her five favourite cards for 2012 (All her cards are fantastic!) and what a great way to end the year....Here's mine, starting with... January... and you'll notice I can't count!!!! There's so much more than five!
This card was actually a birthday card for my s-i-l the year before, but I posted it again when it appeared in the Trimcraft Newsletter... (I won goodies!)
February I made this card using one of my own digi's. The card was double sided and had a secret place to add money or a  token.

March you saw this Birthday card as a Quirky Craft DT card, my challenge and sketch. I just love Bugaboo!

April you saw the first one of two...birthday cards from my two dog sitting dogs to their 'daddy' The inside folds out. I made the papers using Promarkers.
So, when May came along I did another card from the 'boys' to their 'mummy'. It was nice to see both cards stayed up long after the birthdays had been forgotten!!

By June, Lady Pam was a true member of our family and I sent her this card for her 81st birthday

July sees another Bugaboo card and some more of my Promarker made freebie papers. And I....
had to add the Bugaboo Fridge magnet too and of course this Quirky Christmas in July card...
and seeing I love Santa...I gave it to Hubby John! And still in July....

August and September I was a Guest designer with Bugaboo
so I made quite a few...
and added their little bug badge...
          to my DT cards...
This one I think is my favourite! Love that wired ribbon!
October brought us Halloween another Bugaboo
and this SteamPunk fairy image from Stitchy won a few times and...
My Bugaboo shaker  tutorial card won a few challenges too

In November I was making a few Christmas cards, another Bugaboo card
as well as thank you cards....and last but not least...
You saw this Christmas card using a  Dustin Pike's image, which I sent to my daughter in USA...
Yep, I know I've added too many....but never mind!
Wishing everyone who calls in a very Happy New Year! Big Hugs All Round!!

Quirky Wishes for 2014

I'm a bit late tonight with my post as I'm really stuffed up with cold, and everytime I sneeze ...welll, you don't really want to know!! It's that Quirky Craft's time again. It's Gemma's turn to set the theme and she has chosen...
Wishes For 2014
We're sponsored by Bugaboo and Sqigglyfly
I have many wishes for this year, one is to visit my daughter and grandson in USA, another is to repair the pond....it leaks, another, apart for winning the lottery, is to sort out my house and garden as I've been a bit lapse  for quite a while, after spending ages piainting the fences, the shed and the little bridge in a nice soft green. Another wish is to get a nice little van or car to advertise my little Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business. So I've used four digi's from one of our sponsors. Bugaboo and made two cards almost the same.

Both cards have started off with Pinkpetticoat clouds with the digis printed over them  and inside some thin stripes. The outside stripes I made myself and you'll find them in the post below or above this one. Here  I just made wiggly stripes using the colours I'd used on the card.
I've 3D-ed the house in one of the cards and the car and the house in the other. One of the cars has dogs on and in it too. There's also a bit of paws and bones embossing. (My newest folder that jumped in to my basket coz it was a little cheaper than it should've been)
The map was cut from a free booklet which came with a newspaper. I've cut out the bit where I live. Everything was edged in black but I ran out so some of it is paper and some of it is paper coloured with a black Promarker. (Sssh! no one will notice!)
One of the cards has a sentiment. The font I used is called Curlz MT it's the same font I used on my business cards. Google the name, some sites do charge but it can be found as a freebie.
That's my wishes for this year....although I wouldn't mind being thinner... but walking dogs does keep you fit!
Well, that's it, I'm off to bed with a hot toddy ...I've sneezed myself through this post, hope there's no way you can catch my cold via the internet! It gives a whole new meaning to a computer virus... or debugging! and Blogger is being a bit odd tonight and things keep disappearing!
Don't forget to stop by Quirky Crafts and join in!  Thank you for stopping by!

Yahoo! Yippee! A Bugaboo Freebie

Okay, I'm beginning to catch up...still waaaaaaaaaaay behind...and that's not because I've been eating too many cream buns, although the behind could do with slimming down a bit!
Here's my latest 'practise' card I've made using the Friday freebie from Bugaboo, AKV World Kids! It won't be there long so go grab it! You'll find more 'World flags' in the store! At the moment they have A Stella Sketch and Anything But A Card Challenge and a couple of other challenges going on!
I've now found about four different ways of getting that little bug bear over- lay onto my card, (see last card) and each time I forget how I did it! (PaintNet seems to be the quickest as long as I remember to save it as a jpeg...otherwise blogger doesn't like it...fuss pot!!)
I've made an easel card. (I guess you can see that!) First edged the card with a black Promarker. Then added the cowboy into WORD, copied him a few times, played around with the sizes until I had two together and they looked like they do on the card...copied the larger cowboy a couple more times, printed them all out, coloured with ProMarkers, cut out the square and layered it with red, blue and black. 3D-ed the larger Cowboy..cut off his head and hands (I'm sooo mean) then added another body, head, hat, neckerchief and flag...
The paper's I've used are once again, my own using Promarkers. I've used a border punch folded up to help hold the easel in place. The stars are punched out (Punch from Hobby Craft) and also coloured with Promarkers and I've added a bit of brown raffia....I did draw a cactus but it looked silly so I took it off! No sentiment at the moment, til I know what it'll be used for. I did think Howdy Partner, Yahoo! Yippee! Maybe you can think of something! (My brain's sore!) That's it! Have some challenges in mind, just check I'm not too late for them before I add them...back later...night night...

Bugaboo Gus Fridge Magnet

Makes a change! A fridge magnet! Well, it was going to be a card, but I liked it so much I fancied being able to see it somewhere, and where do I always find myself a trillion times a day?...looking in the fridge for any choccy left overs!
I did have a mind to make a calender (with months and dates, not holes) using Gus and eleven of his friends... but was impatient to finish it, as I couldn't find any next year dates saved on my laptop... loads of 2009 and 2000 but no 2013! Might make one later.
Here's my fridge magnet. It's on my fridge so not a very bright picture. I've used Gus-tidbits-WTF in his garage. Now I've typed that, I have other ideas ~ garage doors...oil cans... nuts and bolts... spanners, with greasy bits too.... a man's card ...I'll make that one later too.
What did I do?? First, printed out the digi, made him the size I wanted him, copied him a few times, coloured him with ProMarkers... except the main image...the one with the green background. I just happened to have a few of Summer Driggs Scrapboook papers in my 'My Craft Studio' programme so picked the green to use as the 'wall' behind Gus. (Used Gus as a PNG) This paper comes from the set called Beautimous Kit and you can download it for free HERE (Stay awhile and leave some love!) I then cut different bits off Gus (he didn't mind!) His arms, his hair, left his ears! Also cut out extra tyres and the bin and 3D-ed them over the main image. I also added extra pages to the calender on Gus's wall, curled and ripped the top one.
On the back of the card I've fixed some magnet strips.
A quick reminder that Quirky Craft's 'Make as Laugh!' Challenge is still on, just! so there's still time to add your funny cards, if you're quick! It's sponsored by Bugaboo this time round and they have a 50% off sale at the moment!
New Followers!! Hi and a BIG {{~wave~}}} to Teresa, with a fabulous blog called Crafting all days cards with a link to her son's fabulous art work... would've joined his following but I hate having to put my date of birth (why?) coz I'm very old and cranky! And there was already a Spyder! Then there's Tabithgrace, no link, and out the back and in the dark I've found R.J. also with no link.
I've just spilt Crunchy Nut Cornflakes all over my keyboard! So that's it! Better unplug before I blow up! Hope you're not all scorched beetroot pink with sun stroke or up to your knobbly knees in muddy rain water!! Thank you for stopping by!

Life's A Beach!

Hi Guys! Been trying to get this card finished for a sketch challenge on FaceBook and also add it to Bugaboo's 'All About Seasons' challenge too! Very sorry to those of you who following by email... I'll have to edit this post quite a bit later!!
I'll be back to tell you where to find the freebie font, add more pictures, show you how I made it, (show you a picture anyway...) and to add more challenges, if they are still going on.
Blogger's being very slow this afternoon, I'll be here 'til next Christmas at this rate and I want to get out into the SUN!!! It's that BIG yellow thing out there in the BLUE sky (It won't last) See you later!
**Part Two!! Evening! As I said above, this card was mainly for Chocolate, Coffee and Cards FaceBook Challenge, to use their sketch and to add red. Weeeellll... I used carmine, which is red but slightly a pinker red, but with another twist, it's all done with a Promarker, as you can see by the picture below. I've not used red or black card at all, just edged it with the Promarker. Even so, there's a lot of layers, mostly put together using silicon glue.
I've also 3D-ed the Bugaboo Monkey, by cutting off one of his arms, his tail and his ears! (I'm soooo mean!) and given him my own sea-side background.
The brad, from my stash, has a sun face... might be the only one we get to see this summer, more rain is promised for the rest of the week!! (I'll be growing webbed feet at this rate!!)
All the backing papers are off-cuts from my Pink Petticoat bits and pieces folder. (Throw Nothing away-give nothing back yo-ho-ho me hearties yo-ho-ho!)
The swirly paper has been embossed with a Cuttlebug Heart folder (To go with the heart on the monkeys bum and the tiny hearts on the lighter paper) I've also used my crab punch and for the first time ever, the tiny little dolphin punch. (I must have had that five years or more!)
Then just to add a bit of interest in the other corners, I've add a few tiny gems, fixed on using my Quickie Glue Pen.
To finish off I did a bit mock stitching. Even the red (carmine) ribbon loops are made of paper and coloured with a Promarker.
The font is a freebie. It's called, very appropriately, Janda Silly Monkey (Y'see I don't just throw these posts together, they are carefully planned... and if you believe that you're a monkey's uncle....) by Kimberly Geswein and yes! there is a monkey!!! I love the monkey! (see the monkey inside the card...don't strain your glass eye, make the picture bigger!) You can download the font HERE (other sites are available!)
New Follower! Hi and a big ((WAVE)) to Cheryl, who hasn't a link... yet! That's it for now. Thank you for stopping by!

Laugh! I've Caught the Quirky Bug Again,

Hi Bloggers! It's Time for another Quirky Crafts Challenge! Pop over and join in!! Here's my Card!! We are very lucky to have Bugaboo sponsoring us this week. Yay!! and they will be giving our winner/favourite Seven Digi's of their choice!!! And for those of you who don't win, now's the time to pop over to the bugaboo digi store coz they have 50% off! Caro has set a fantastic theme to go with these digi's
Make Us Laugh!!!
what could be easier than that!?
(Staying in bed all day)

No! come on, get out those mojo's, you have two weeks to make anything you want, enter as many times as you like, have fun, just make us laugh! Simples!!!
Here's my card... I've used Gus Tidbits New Truck printed out twice, once over the cloud backing papers (PinkPetticoat) and the stripy paper. This looks like two separate pieces of paper doesn't it, but no, the clouds and the stripes are all one piece. I left enough white card to add another Gus image next to it, so I could do a bit of 3D-ing! In the second image I' cut out Gus from the trucks window, but left the steering wheel and his arm, I also snipped off the headlight and that fencing whatknot in the back of the trunk.
To finish off I added some Glossy Accents to Gus's glasses, edged the card with a black ProMarker and added some mock stitching using a fine black liner. I also added ribbon, brads and eyelets from my stash. The stripy papers are my own, made using Promarkers and can be found as freebies HERE. Hope my card makes you laugh! Thanks for stopping by!
