#gelypostcardplay Card Number 30. If only we could fly!

Morning! Well it was, it's afternoon now...the day is flying by! Here's my 30th postcard for Ceri The Crafters #gelypostcardplay July Challenge. Last card tomorrow. Did you know, that August used to have 31 days too, because the god of August didn't like the fact that the god of July had one more day than him... of course, I could've dreamt all that! Here's my postcard!
I'm quite chuffed with the way it's turned out! I don't know what Jack Bernard Cull (or
Bernard Jack) would think of me, giving him butterfly wings. Yes, that's a little boy wearing that lovely dress, related to hubby on his mother's side. We think he might be Lady Pam's Dad...
I wanted to use the golden dragonfly tissue paper, which was given to me wrapped round some flowers back in March, but leaving it as a white background didn't work and I didn't have enough pink brayered tissue left to cover a postcard, so! Out came the paints and the rollers, pushed back my breakfast and rolled out a
transparent Pinkish red, (Oddly, there's no name on the tube) Now, this tissue is great, coz if you roll over the back of it, the gold shows on the gelliplate. (I'm new to all this, still learning!) and it will lift up on your next pull, (or whatever it's called)
I'd already stamped a dragonfly onto a very pale pinkish (kissed with paint) card, you can just see him through the tissue. The golden dragonflies are already on the tissue. I then fussy-cut out great great cousin Jack (twice removed, probably) and added half the butterfly wing. (all butterflies, the bird and the music bit at the top are from Katy Sue) I die-cutted the 'butterfly plant' and put it into a flowerpot, added the number 30, which I did on my laptop, and then fixed on all the little tiny butterflies. I love the way the golden dragonflies shine as the light catches the card! That's it! Card number 30 done!!! Yay! Thank you for stopping by!

Ceri theCrafter's-GelyPostcardPlay Card Number 29

Morning All You Crafty People! Another day, another card! Here's my card number 29 for cerithecrafter's July Challenge #gelypostcardplay,.I feel I've cheated a bit on this one. Was up about five minutes before I went to bed to do some more Geliprinting, I wanted a lighter back ground to use with a velum lady I know I have...somewhere! (This is not a lady Lyn) I know...but it is velum. And I liked the sentiment.

It was a bit shorter than the card, so added at the bottom is some  'World' tissus paper. I had a go at adding some meltalic circles, but they are quite hard to see. Then stuck the whole thing over my freshly dried geliprint background with Collall glue, after first fixing a darker geli print scrap under the sentiment  to make it show up more, edged all around it to make it look a bit ragged, or is the rugged? (who knows)

Found an aeroplane sticker, die-cut the numbers, and then fixed it all onto a black background. But it does feel like I've cheated a bit, because for once, it didn't take me all day!

So, I feel I've caught up nicely! Definitely going to go to the Market today and have a snoop around the charity shops too. Might find another Bargain Of The Week! That's it! Click on the links above to see Ceri's Number 29 and other YouTubers. Wish I could do a 'proper' YouTube Video. Before he passed John did set me up. 'go on, craft!' he said...and I did. But it's leaning all the other bits that brian (My Brain) can't cope with...yet!  Have a great crafty week. Card Number 30 tomorrow!! Thank you for stopping by!

#Gelypostcardplay, Number 28. Under The Sea,

Evening Crafty People! I'm a bit late with my  #Gelypostcardplay, card No:28. In fact, the card is still wet, and bendy with the paint I've just flicked over it. I'm amazed that I'm still playing along with the challenge created by #CeriThe Creafter. Only three more cards to go! I was going to call this one 'Under The Sea,' but decided on just 'Wave'

This card started off as that blue swirly stencily piece of paper that I thought would be just right. Only, as I pulled it out of the pile, it had a circle cut out of it! (See circle below, card number 27!) There was enough of the blue left to one side to cover the hole, no one can tell...it's under the net and once it was fixed to a card, didn't show at all.
I then die-cut out a load of wavy 'grasses' for the sea weed, plus the anchor, the fish, the lobster and the little diver. The sandy beach at the bottom was made from Woodwares 'Fluffy Stuff' and heat set. Mine is really old, but it still worked okay. Then I covered that with those little beads you find in those tiny pockets of 'Oxygen Absorbers' you get in shoe boxes, or hand bags...mine came from a packet of dog treats! After that I went over it with a little yellow acrylic paint.
For a finishing touch, I splattered the whole thing with white acrylic paint, using an old tooth brush, then added the number 28 to the net a little screw-whiff. Job Done... Fingers are still covered in glue! The next job will be to fix a stronger piece of card on the back. That's it for today! Look out for tomorrows card! Thank you for stopping by!

#gelypostcardplay- number 18. More butterflies

Back again with another Postcard for Ceri the crafter's July challenge, #gelypostcardplay! This is number 18...is was no: 17 but I didn't like it... so I used a rose with butterflies instead. Seeing I was running late I decided to revamp and use it anyway. Same as number 17 with the masterboard background. (See! If I'd never found Ceri, I would've never ever made a masterboard!)  I edged it in gold embossing power and zapped with my heat gun.

Then fussy-cut a flower wreath from a magazine... but that's when I decided the flowers were too small, so I just cut them up and arranged them willy-nilly on the card, then added the butterfly stamps, making sure you could still see  those eggs... But by that time, I'd given up the will to live and started what ended up being the new/real no:17.

Later. Much later. I was thinking it needed a bird. In steps Tim Holtz's bird cage die and on goes one blackbird. I edged the card again with ink and a Promarker. Then made another stamp, by cutting out a small rectangle piece of creamy-pink geli rolled tissue and fixied that to a real stamp, so I still had the white bits. In my pile of mess craft stash, was a silver number sheet so added the number 18...plus a few inky postage rings and wiggley lines. Number 18 done! Phew!

So, number 18, the ex number 17, didn't turn out too bad in the end! That's it from me! Go and have a look at some of the other fabulous makes at #gelypostcardplay  or just google it! Thank you for stopping by!

Welcome to WOYWW!? #788-Still playing with Paint!

Morning all you crafty people! It's Another Wednesday, so that means, another WOYWW!? I know you're there, coz I can see by my stats! Which can grow from a mean 0 to 89k just like that! (give or take a few months) Odd me thinks! Come and say Hi!

Below is my working space this morning, I'm still in the kitchen, coz it's easier for clean-ups, and Gelli printing can get very messy! All this month I'm trying to join in with Ceri The Crafter's  #gelypostcardplay. If you scroll down to other postd, you'll see what I've done so far.

Just room for the kettle! This is mostly the cutting and chomping side, or even a bit of glueing. Last week I was house/dog sitting, and also called in to their neighbours,  to feed their very large and hairy cat, Maud. And this morning, knock knock on the door, and I recieved this lovely pressy!
Jenny has a lovely studio in her back garden where she is a very accomplished artist!
(I  have been and had a look several times) Lots of her paintings are made into cards too. So this one is a real 'keeper.'
So, back to the mess that I'm creating at the moment... better clea
n up before I make the next postcard. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that tissue yet. I was thinking stamping or drawing on some flowers or butterflies. That's it for now! Pop over to sarahscraftshed  and join in with WOYWW!?! Thank you for stopping by!

Gelypostcard -july Challence with Ceri The Crafter. Number 1 Postcard

Hahha...I can hear you, you'll never do it Lyn, well I know, but the fact is, I want to. So, what am I on about?  Ceri The Crafter is doing a Post Card a day for the whole of July...using GelPlate/s.

Go ahead and Google, #Gelypostcardplay and you should find loads of video's, as there's loads of people taking part. The link above has links to other Youtubers. So, yes... I've spent all day making a lovely painty mess! Most people took about five mimutes to do theirs!

I had that problem, with the paper sticking to the paint again, so have decided it works better with the lighter weight copy paper 80gsm and not the heavier weight I use to print my backing papers on.

I had paint, everywhere, even the floor had a dose of it! Yep, I dropped the bubblewrap on the floor and then trod on it. But in the end I managed to do, postcard number #1 (only another 30 to go...!)

I used some different shades of pink and red in metallic, dyna, and transparent acrylic, added patterns using stencils, which you can't really see. I covered some tissue paper that had some gold printed dragonflies on it, so that's where the idea came to use more dragonsflies. (Also covered the card with decopatch) I stamped the images on more of the geliplate painted sheets. One of them was embossed with gold and heatset. I also added a bit of random stamping with paint and vintage photo. Used a specimen diecut, also cut from more of the geliprinted paper, but this time I used some washi tape for the inside image, Then fixed that on with a 3D foam square. Finished off with a few labels and of course, the number One.  Phew! Even if I don't do anymore, I have a load of very colourful geliprinted papers that I didn't have before! Thank you for stopping by!
