Happy St Patrick's Day! Kiss Me I'm Irish!

Don't! Coz I'm not, but that's what they say, isn't it! The only day I can wear my St Patrick's T shirt and I can't find it..aw, never mind, it probably doesn't fit me any more ~ not that I'm fatter this year, (of course not! sez me as I crunch on another curly-wirly) it's just shrunk a little, that's all! in the wash!

Last year I made a St Patrick's card, so I thought I would do so this year too. I've used the same digi, Leprechaun on a Toadstool and as before, some lovely freebie papers from Summer Driggs, only these are different. There's still a rainbow though, as I feel there has to be a rainbow on a card with a Leprechaun, because that's where Leprechauns find their pots of gold! So, I used, one blank pearl card, edged with a black Promarker, (saves matting and layering and card!) and 'A little spring in your step' kit freebie papers From Summer Driggs, you'll find Summertime Designs Here. I covered the card first in some lovely green flowery paper, which you can't really see, so there's a bit of that in side the card too. Then layered the rainbow paper, then the green spotted paper and then the little rainbows and the Leprechaun. I used a PGN digi so just printed him straight onto the pink rainbows. I was going to 3D him, but my printer jammed... and didn't print the second leprechaun. Never mind, I think it has enough layers! The little Shamrock/clover button came back with me from my trip to Seattle USA a few years back, so it's well travelled! I've added a few green beads to add a bit more texture. I chose the daisy chain ribbon as it goes from pink to green and I wanted to use as much green as I could for a few challenges I'd found. The flowers I punched out with a Woodward punch. One of them has a bit of gold netting added to it, which was once part of a posh Christmas cracker. There's also loads of Stickles and micro fine glitter added too.. The Font I used is a freebie. It's called Fluffy Slacks BTN, you can Download it HERE Well I think that's it... I do love the inside, in fact I did the inside first. I've left it blank, as I'm not quite sure where it's going yet! Summer Party Time.

Summer Party Time, it's a play on words....who's clever enough to work it out? 'Summer', a link to those lovely freebie paper's and 'Party Time', the name of the Penny Black Rubber stamp. I made this card for a challenge, over on Honeypot Crafts. Phil is having a Penny Black Challenge with a chance to win some yummy blog candy! Actually I made the Summer Shaker for the challenge originally, but then realised, it needed to be a stamped image and not a Stickeroo...then I forgot to add ribbons and fibre, so took the top photo about three minutes ago with added fibre! (gotta have your added fiber) First I covered the card, then added the 'grass', (sort of hand drawn and then cut out) then made the frame around the card and 'stitched' it with a white Sarura GellyRoll pen, so I'm hoping that'll be enough 'layering.' I stamped the hedgies onto the backing paper so I'd get all the whiskers, hairy bits and the strings to their balloons, then stamped onto some card, first coloured them with water colour pencils, but went over that with Whisper Pens, as it didn't look bright enough. Those 'Summer' papers are really bright. I cut the Hedgies out and decoupaged them over the stamped image...The flowers and leaves were punched out with Woodware punches. Added a bit of Sticklers Glitter. The Party Time wording is a clear stamp in the Bubbles and Squeak Collection. I've just realised I haven't used Squeak yet...aw poor Squeak! The lower pictures of the card are the ones I took this afternoon, without the ribbon and fibre, slightly different colours as these were taken outside in natural light...I was trying to be all clever and put Spyder's Corner along the bottom. I even cut the back ground out so you couldn't see my cooking utensils or my untidy living room! or in this case my wild and over grown flower border. Weird that the pictures look bigger, even though I cropped them. I think it looks a bit too busy. I wanted it to look as though they were running through a flower garden and I had it in my head to do, so, I couldn't argue with myself! (I sometimes think the 'voices' are taking over...)

Another Summer Shaker

I did tell you there'd be another one didn't I! I mean, another shaker card using Summer Driggs freebies. A little different than the card below as it opens up the other way...no I didn't do that by accident! Just thought it looked better that way seeing I made the frame a tiny bit smaller! (I couldn't actually make it any bigger as the Crunchy Nut Cornflakes packet, which I used to make the frame, still had some Crunchy Nuts Cornflakes in it!)
It's almost the same as the card below, only as you can see, I used the green dotty paper instead of the blue (I'm definitely going to use the blue dotty paper for Christmas cards, it'll make great snow! Christmas!?? I'm thinking Christmas in June!! That must be a first! (Added Edition: Gez had a great idea of adding snowflakes in a Christmas Shaker....not real snowflakes....)
I used a Penny Black Stickeroo again, stuck him on acetate first, then fixed him to the card with a dollop of silicone glue. Added a smidgen of Stickles Glitter, oh and rounded off the corners with my corner punch. Good little tool, one I recommend, a corner punch! I bought mine locally but they are easily found on line. You can get them with different pattens, but I haven't got one of those.

Summer Shaker

I love these lush freebie Scrapbook papers I down loaded from Summer Driggs lovely blog. I just had to make a couple of shaker cards. Get the link, Summer Shaker...see, clever eh? Pop over and leave some lovely comments. Summer has some wonderful kits, plus a few 'how to' tutorials. (The kit's called Easy Breezy, also, look out for other lovely kits in older posts, go and have a hunt!!)
This was a very quick and easy breezy card, (as I'm late once more with forum birthday cards! sorry!) I didn't add any contrasting paper inside the window this time, as I thought the big blue flower was too good to hide, so I just fixed the acetate frame straight over the beads and onto the card, with thin 3D foam pads, so I didn't have to pay for a 'large letter' post!(call me scrooge!)

I added a few sparkly peel off dots, inside the window, curling round like a stem and a bit of Sticklers glitter on the flowers and leaves. The hedgehog (and ladybirds) are Penny Black Stickeroos. I always feel I cheat when I use them ~ they're so cute and easy! This one was fixed onto acetate first, so you couldn't see the pattern through his tummy and so he could actually stick to the card (over the frame) I've used a dollop of silicon to hold him in place (Looks like he's looking at the ladybirds, doesn't it!) The wording is a clear stamp by Papermania. In the freebie kit there's loads of elements and ribbons. Wish my small brain could get round digi scrapping!!
I didn't have any navy or dark paper for the inside, (the blank card was a very dark blue) only a really really nice linen black...and I wasn't going to use that for the insert. (call me scrooge again!) So I just stuck a few pieces inside, along with Loony Lyn.
I inked all the edges with..(can you tell, I'm looking, reading and copying this off the lid?!) Blue Iris, from the ColorBox Petal Point fluid Chalk option pad. (bit of a mouthful!) I've used this a lot for edging lately and the little sponges don't wear well, going a bit rough around the edges.(like me!)
Now, what do you put on the back of your cards? My old cartoony type cards used to have, 'Oh no! Not Another Lyn-loony' and.. 'An arm and a leg plus V.A.T' where the price should be...I decided I needed something a little more sophisticated these days, a bit more posher...so I came up with, Loony Lyn and my email with the background to match the papers on the card... Dragonsmoore being the Title of one of my 'never ending stories'. You'd have to be very clever to find it on Google! (No I'm not linking it, as it's very old and I've changed it a million times since then!~just can't remember the password to take it off) Anyway, I'd love to know what you put on the back of your cards, if anything! A squashed toad, a thumb print...Catch you tomorrow, with another Summer Shaker...
