Another Gnomey Christmas Card!

I'm on a roll....I mean, not a ham roll, but my chair, it's nice and 'rollie' (At home there's no room for my chair to go anywhere as there's too much stuff crammed against the wheels! New Year? I'm getting it tidied up!! (at some point, maybe!) Well, let's get to the 'point', here's another Gnomey (a Santa Gnome) decoupaged Christmas Card. This went to the lady who lives where I'm staying. (She said she liked it so much she was going to take it with her) Where's she going? There's a clue on the card! To see the Northern Lights! Fabulous! I've still not found the Christmas cards I made last year.... but now thinking about it, I might've posted them! As I said, somewhere, I'm still house sitting, and Bronte, one of the dogs it up here with me (upstairs in their office as the internet is soooo much better) I've got the telly on and every time a dog, or other animal appears on the very large screen she barks at it!  Grrrr! She must think they're monster dogs, as they're so big!

I'm going to lookout for any Christmasy Challenges. It used to be so much easier to join in with them but I think a lot of them have closed down..Happy New Year (again!) can't say that too many times!! Thank you for stopping by!

A Pop out Santa Four Step Card

Good morning/Afternoon/Evening to all you crafters. Today I have some Christmas cards... wayhayhay?! yes I know, calm down, because there's other things on my list... like... dusting (What!?) and tidying up and getting the tree down from the attic and...and... Well, here's One Christmas Card. There might be another one tomorrow. Started doing a flip and flop  card, (I mentioned this before)  but..it didn't flip and was a flop, soooo I used already stamped out Santa from that- very lucky find from a Charity shop  (The kind that normally sells old boots, Christmas cards and socks) and made this pop out step card instead. The next cards I make will have to be my own design, as I'm so rubbish at following instructions! (and I don't take all week to make them) This card took me all last week!

I'm quite pleased with it now, so I'm hoping the family members who'll receive it, will recycle it back to me, if they are going to recycle it! Not to worry if they don't, (I've taken pictures) I'll just send them a bought one next year! (with a candle on it...and a bit of holly) The card closes down to a 6x6. I used 250 gsm card for the base, probably from Dovecraft. The backing paper is from 'The Works.' (£3, 12x12 double sided) The tree is embossed then fussy cut, also from a freebie magazine (last year...or the year before)  along with the very tiny die cuts to decorate it. I've also added Nova drops, Stickles, Gems and Wink of Stella. The Santa, (second hand as new, originally a freebie) is from three years ago. The Santa's bag is from a freeie from this year ...actually, I fell asleep when I was fussy cutting it out, can you believe that!? I know we had dogs and Grandkiddies over to stay but falling asleep, mid cut!!? I mean?? Luckily I'd coloured in, using my Promarkers, another  four or five so it can still be used on another card, if I hide half the bow!  I throw nothing away!

 This is the inside

In Sam's Tutorial (How to Make a Four Stepped Card) her card stands up very nicely, she most likely used 300gsm, so I added another blank card to the back of this one, using matching papers, and a sentiment from the same Christmas 12x12 pad, so it stands up very well. (and there's plenty of room to write a message; I may add a white circle diecut  to write on) The 'silver' Merry Christmas sentiment on the front, was also a 'freebie' from a magazine as is the die cut stocking. The Ho Ho Ho's are sequins. The little mouse and the tiny hearts, are Lawn Fawn.

Grandkiddies have been colouring in some of my digis. (We want them BIG Nanny, not little...) just as well Hubby had filled up the ink! I'll add pictures later. That's it... hoping there's not too many smelling misttoks on this post (I did manage not to fall asleep on the keyboard!) I'm finding typing in the dark with this laptop (new last Christmas) is a lot easier as the keyboard lights up and I can see all the letters and numbers, instead of having to best guess! (Note to self, don't buy a silver coloured laptop next time!) That's it! Thanks for stopping by! Stay Safe.

It's A Ginger Bread House Pop Up Card!

At last, I can safely say I've finished The Ginger Bread House Card! ('No, you haven't! You haven't added that Happy Christmas sentiment on the inside yet!') Ok, I'll go do that next. Now you've made me forget what I was going to type! Oh yes, following on from the making of the Ginger Bread House in another post... the next thing that went wrong?? I placed the open card across an opened ink pad. Arrgh! Ink smuged all over the Gingerbread man! So I covered him with another one, along with the star and the tiny sweetie. Then added the sweet brad, from my stash,  over the inky mark on the top lefthand corner. Sorted!

This card came with all the goodies you need to make this pop up Ginger Bread House card (and many other things) in the kit Box 24 from Papercraft Society by Sam Callcott. Go HERE to see her 'live' Youtube toturial. (Fast forward to the good bits!)

Here's the card showing the Happy Christmas I've just fixed on!(It's not on any of the other pictures) The GingerBread man and woman where cut out of brown card wrapped around tins of (posh) cat food or tuna. I just love the brown colour on the inside. The Happy Christmas was die-cut from a band around tins of Stella Artois, and the next lot of gingerbreads will be cut from a 'Caramel Pots of Choc Creamy Desserts' wrap-a-round band. I throw nothing away!

The Back of the House
The gems are from my stash but everything else is from the kit. I used the bits from the cut out windows as the path, as my path die didn't seem to emboss like Sam's did(then I spotted that they weren't the same!) The Christmas Wreaths, I decided looked good as chocolate bagels with Hundreds and Thousands sprinkled on them!

A Sky view
I've used Glossy Accents or Wink of Stella on most of the Sweeties. The roof is covered with some really lovely off white smooth glitter card. I did actually make the roof a little bit smaller. Any colouring was done by my Promarkers. And with any luck, it all folds flat and fits into a 6x6 envelope.

As well as die-cuts, stamps and papers, card, sentiments and templates, there's also some white pompom ribbon, little candy canes,  a candy cane embossing folder  and a cookie cutter included in the set.
Opening the card

Write your messages on the back
Now, if you don't score down the middle of the sides of the house, you can make it into a cute little treat box or tree decoration!

That's it! Thank you for stopping by. I'll try to add a video later. Hoping to add some...

Happy New Year!! 2011 Mini Shaker Card

01.01.11. The start of the New Year!! I wonder what we'll all be up to in the coming months?
Here's my first card of 2011. Happy New Year, which I made for my Mum and Dad. I used the same Forever Friends papers as their Christmas Card so they would match (sort of) but used my own 'Happy New Year' digi (freebie until midnight tonight) The little cat started life off as a rabbit, would you believe, but I just couldn't get his ears to look right with that hat. So glad I changed it!
It's a sort of a mini shaker card too. I folded the front of the card back, and then punched out two shapes with a Woodware punch, so they matched up once folded back again. Made a sort of acetate pocket inside the fold and filled it with some chunky gold glitter and stuck it all down.
My little elf has been coloured with Promakers and splattered with micro fine glitter then fixed to the card with DS sticky tape. The font I used on the front is called PC Sunny Day, at the moment I can't find a free down...but there must be a freebie out there somewhere so I'll keep looking! (The freebie you can get isn't this one)

Five Favourite Christmas Cards

Debby over on A Scrap Journey is doing a fab Christmas Card Challenge, to chose five of your favourite 2010 Christmas cards. Of course that's easy, I'd choose every one of Debby's cards because they are all fabulous!! But of course she would like you to chose your own Xmas cards. Debby has put up a lovely prize, so here are...

Of Course...Snowy!
I just love Snowy from Penny Black. I've made a few!
...but these two are my favourites from this year. Very similar, and both with paper piecing and embossing. I've entered this card into the December Card Making Challenge -A Christmas Song/Hymn ('Frosty The Snowman') So please go vote and comment!!

Another Penny Black image. (I think) Had them as a RAK last year and have only just used them. Love these three snowmen, they look good 3D-ed! And I've made quite a few of these this year too. This is my favourite out of the bunch.

Another Penny Black...but a Hedgehog this time. I made this one way back in May. The white paper clip was there to help the ribbon stick...but ended up staying there! This was originally a Quirky Craft DT card, which I also entered into a challenge and won a Sarah Kay Clear Stamp from Everybody Art 'Song Title' Challenge! with 'Hey Mr Postman'. I made it for Maria in America and was asked to make a few more the same...well almost the same, seen here. Only trouble was, I don't have this stamp so Brenda from Butlersabroad saved the day and we did an image swap, Michigan to The New Forest! Don't you just love blogging!

...and last but not least this Forever Friends Bear with his mug of cocoa.
(This is one of the cards I've misplaced, unless of course I posted it to you and forgot!)

Debbie's prize includes...
...Two LOTV James the bear Stamps...
so why not pop over to Debbie's and join in...
New Follower...Emma...out the back and in the dark..but I know who you are!! My lovely daughter. Yes... I had to bribe her to become a follower...next I'll be getting her to start a blog, but she doesn't know that yet! Thanks for stopping by...don't eat too much left over turkey!
