Life's A Beach

I've done a few more ATC's... still have a few more to do. Some more monkeys coming up and some teddy bears. I might add a bit more to the monkeys here, there's something missing. Words maybe, like... Monkey's love digging. Not that I know if monkey's like digging but these monkeys look like they love digging, and who am I to ask a monkey what he likes... apart from bananas. Didn't do any 3D-ing on these but I've done a bit on the next batch. Might add wording, or a shell, or something I haven't thought of yet. Like the wiggly line around the croc, so might do that around the monkeys too.
Own background with Bugaboo images, coloured with Promakers. The fish is a Woodware punch and the font is a freebie. It's called Pea Leslie's Happy Font. and there's a link is on my side bar (Kevin and Amanda) but I know how lazy you are, so click Here to find it.

A Little Popcorn Madness...with ProMakers

Well, I did say I'd try and do another bear card this week just to remind you about the BEAR Challenge going on over on the Quirky forum... You still have a week!! There' a prize, and if any of my followers have a go, I'll send them a little prize too!! (don't all rush at once...please!)
I've had this Popcorn stamp set for ages and this is the first time I've used it, mainly because, you have to cut them out, very scary, being careful not to cut them too close (or cut off Popcorns ears!) and then not to lose all the tiny little pieces. Once cut out, you have to find some way of making them stick to your acrylic block. Of course me being me, that took a few weeks, (months) Dah!
I bought me some 'Kling-on' (nothing to do with Star Trek) and feeling very brave (even with my stupid finger in a plastic splint now) I cut out all the little bits and fixed them onto the 'Kling-on' (Luckily he didn't mind and if you clink the link you'll find a video telling you how to do it... wish I'd found that first!) Then I realised I didn't have an acrylic block big enough for poor Popcorn, so, I used a CD case instead, then found that all the little pieces fitted just right inside the same case. (sometimes I think, I'm not me, but someone else who has been swapped by aliens!)
I've used the sketch from Midnight Madness, so of course I've entered this card into their Challenge #38, which has two sketches this week... almost the same but different, and...mine's a bit different too. There's still time to have a go! This card has gone off to a forum buddy. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a good one!
I've used papers from the Craft CD-Rom free with The Do-Crafts Creativity Magazine. I've also coloured Popcorn with Promakers using Pastel Green, Blossom, Pastel Blue, Vanilla, Bright Orange and Canary, so have entered Passion For ProMakers challenge.
And (thank you Chris aka Twinkles Glow for letting me know!) I've also entered this card into the Flutter By Wednesday's Challenge too. Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #97 is Blooming Gorgeous. I hope I have enough flowers!
The font  I've used is called Honey Script. (Google the name)
I stamped Popcorn and then cut him out using my Nestabilities scalloped circles, then stamped Popcorn again, cut him out and after colouring, fixed it over the circle, because obviously Popcorn was bigger than the circle and his leg had been cut off! (don't worry, he's ok!) I then coloured the circle using the pastel blue.
Watch out for my next bear post because there'll be a link where you can download him and matching papers for free!!  Owing to SPAM< This post is now closed to all comments

Have a 'Wheelie' Good Day!

I'm doing a little jig! My Scaredy Cat Halloween card was in the top 5 over on Passion for ProMarkers!! Thank you for letting me know Cheryl! Still can't make the little banner flash tho'. I keep poking it or putting into different thing-a-me's but no...it won't flash...
Anyway, this card, 'Have a 'Wheelie' Good Day!' was my DT card for the Quirky Forum while I was away. It was all set to magically appear but I had to delete the post because the challenge was changed to a two-weeker (is that a word?) just as I was leaving! So, this card did appear over on the forum, but I haven't blogged about it yet. So? What can I say? Jolly Nation 3D decoupage and my own background coloured with ProMaker pens. The inside is made up of all the other bits and pieces you get on the Jolly sheet. I 3D-ed a bit of that too! Now the font is, as always, a freebie. It's called, 'Girls are Weird' and you can download it HERE or from the actual designer's website HERE (there's other fonts there too)
Now, this weeks Passion for Promarkers Challenge is a colour challenge. Grass and Canary and guess what? Yes! I've got them and here they are all ready on this card. (I must be psychic) Not the trees but the grass and of course the yellow rapeseed in the back ground...or it could be corn...or wheat... oho...I really do fancy a bowl of Crunchy Nut CornFlakes, but it's time for the last doggy walk of the evening! Thanks for stopping by! and um....Have a Wheelie Good Day!

Happy Moo-Day

I'm quite pleased with this card. I love the colour, sort of lilac-y pink and black. I've had it planned for ages, months, last year even. I made it, lost it! Found it again and sent it off, only to find whoever it's gone off to, is no longer on the forum birthday list Oh.....Moo! Never mind! It's Pink Petticoat papers printed onto photo paper to give it a bit of a dull glossy look, if there is such a thing. Penny Black Image, that was a forum swap, really wish I had that stamp! and a piece of sticky lace and ribbon from my stash. The flower was made using a Woodware punch (as always) For the leaves, I first stamped some Pink Petticoat pink paper with a flowery stamp, covered it with clear embossing power and heat set it with my heat gun and then punched out the leaves. I also used my new corner punch on the corners, giving the card a bit of a (chewed) fancy corner. I coloured the image with my Promaker Pens, put a blue sky in the background, with a few birds. (or little V's) I did use a pink water colour pencil on the cow's noses tho, I really must get some pink and skin tone colours! It's the first thing I can see that isn't right! Now the font, if you haven't got it, it's called Baby Kruffy. You can see on the insert the two ways of writing with it. The top, in black, is in ordinary 'Word' and the lilac has been made by using WordArt. You can change the colour and the out line colour if you want to. This is one of my favourite fonts. And you can download it for free, just Google the font name Baby KruffyThere's loads of sites to chose from.
Now before I go...I'd love to welcome a new follower hiding out there in the dark with no picture and no link, but I can tell you aw37uk is into 'Die cuts'. (How do I know this...?) ah, can't tell you all my secrets!! Pop over and say Hi aw37uk, Anne-Marie, (think this is you!) and then we can come and see you too! (What a frightening thought!)
Candy Blog Time tomorrow!!!! Back then!! Byeeeeee

A Little Bit of Beatrix Potter: ATC's

Sorry, I haven't finished the 'Fairy Castle' but I have made these ATC's for a Quirky forum swap. The theme was animals and I remembered that (squeaking madly) bag of Beatrix Potter toppers I had a few weeks ago (free with a crafty magazine) still unopened and thought, ah! I'll use those. The only trouble was, I didn't have anything for the background, so I quickly drew my own and came up with a background that continued through both ATC's.
I wasn't sure about them at first, but I think they're okay, they've kinda grown on me now. There's a bit of 3D-ing going on. I coloured the background with my NEW ProMarkers (whoohoo!) but then, scanned the finished drawing through my computer and printed it out. Why? (mainly because I'd only drawn it on paper (Tesco Finest) and the Promakers had bled through it a little. I then did a bit more touching up with the colour and added a dragonfly and a couple of butterflies. I hope who ever gets my swap likes them...or maybe they're looking at them right now and thinking,
'Oh no, I hope I don't get those!'

Back tomorrow with pictures of my lovely pressies from Lisa over on Allissa's Designs. Pop over and say hi and if you join her merry band of followers, you might be in with a chance to win some lovely pressies too!

How to Make A Shaker Card.

After I spend hours trying to line up pictures to text, I finally gave up and made a slide show on photo bucket on how to make a shaker card and placed it down at the bottom of the blog. **Update, now moved to 'pages', link at top of blog** Hope you like it. It still needs tiding up a bit but it'll do for now! ...oh wow!! It's nearly 4.30 in the morning!!! Night!!

Afternoon! Did I get much sleep? What with the cat purring, John snoring, and the postman ringing the door bell at eight o'clock this morning...no! Aw- well, it's been a nice day today, sun shinning, bees buzzing so I thought I'd take my card out into the garden and take a 'daylight' picture, and show you the inside too. Think there's still something missing.... back later.

There we go... I thought it needed another (smaller) Tilda inside the card. Lovely day today..think I'll do some gardening...

Catch you later!!

Party Tilda Shaker Card

After a few, a couple, maybe one person asked me how I did my shaker cards, I was going to be all clever and do one of those picture tutorials, using this card...I got right to the end, when my camera died a death. Flat Batteries. (Bother... although I didn't actually say, bother.) The photo down there was taken when I was wondering what to put in that blank spot on the left. Some black feathered wool? Another Stickeroo? A big purple glitter flower? After much pondering I decided on the silver and white glitter flower. (Which was recycled from a gift bag I had some yummy non-crafty goodies in for my birthday) The 'Party Time' and the 'Happy Birthday'stamps are from Papermania (Claire Curd's Signature Range) The little hedgehog is a Penny Black Stickeroo. Tilda was coloured in with Aqua Promaker pens and a paint brush.
I will have a go at doing a picture tutorial, but next time I'll make sure my batteries are fully charged! (That's the camera's batteries of course...not mine!)
