Take It Easy, Card For Dad

Wouldn't we all like to, take it easy, that is. Swinging about in a hammock all day. My Dad always wanted a hammock, now he has one, he says, 'I can't get in the flippin' thing now, without falling out the other side!' So of course, this card will be put by for him, probably Fathers Day (in June) as his birthday isn't until November, and it's a bit cold in November to be swinging about in a hammock! I've left the sentiment simple so I can change them if need be!
The Penny Black image was stamped and embossed, coloured with Promakers and I've done a bit of 3D-ing too. The papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat, (the stripes) and My Minds Eye. (both came free with magazines) The key and key-hole are brads. They're by Woodware. Bit disappointed they didn't include hinges too! Or perhaps they do in another set. The font is a Freebie, it's called GoodDog and you can download it HERE where you'll find two downloads, one with extra dots! (GoodDog Cool)

A bit of a sad day today Frog the Cat passed away. She would've been 19 in September.

Ribbons of Quirkyness

Hi everyone it's that Quirky Time again when I wonder what day it is! The New Fortnighly Challenge has started over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge blog, but who knows, we like to keep you in suspenders! (but there was no sneak peek, Lyn) Yes there was... I had the wrong date in the date thingymejig, so I can't blame Mr Blogger! We'll just sweep that aside and not mention it, just like that goal the ref didn't see... (Shoulda gone to Speck savers!) I bet they use that in future advertising!
We still haven't worked out who's won the last challenge, because once again we can't make up our minds!! There were soooo many lovely cards and other makes, thank you all for entering!
Julia's set the challenge this fortnight, and she would like to see.....

Ribbons!!

You can make anything as long as there's a bit of or loads of Ribbon!! Once again we're being sponsored by the fabulous Stamp Addicts.

Here's D.T. my card. I know, I've used those papers again, but I do love them, and I'm beginning to really like different patterned papers that match. All the papers are by 'My Minds Eye' (Pretty Please Spring Papers) and were a freebie 6x6 with Cardmaking and PaperCraft Magazine a few months back. I've edged all the papers with dark blue chalk ink, just to make them stand out a little bit.

Sorry about Tilda, I must get some more!! (I only have two, and the other one's a Christmas one! This one is, Magnolia Jam Tilda) I like the way she just sits there on the eyelash wool. (Or wall!) I've used both pastel green and pale blue on her dress to get it to match the papers.
I did have a different ribbon across the corner, one that was in the same Papermania ribbon set, as the eyelash wool but you know when you look at something and the wrong thing stands out, like a big sore thumb, you just know it's wrong, and I'd stuck the thing on, but it just had to come off!
I replaced it with this much nicer softer polka-dot ribbon (and it hides the little rip in the corner!)
I did a bit of dry embossing on the stripy paper. I put it through my BigShot in the 'Happy Birthday' folder. I didn't sand it, just left it as it was. You can't really see it in the Photo, (not even when you double click it to make it bigger, but you do get a good look at my Harry Potter books and DVD's!!)
Now, who's the clever cloggs who can spot the sketch I've used... Yes, it's next weeks Midnight Madness#60 so I'm hoping it's okay to add it to the challenge even though that hasn't gone out yet. I thought it was a really nice one this time so just had to do it!!
says yes!!"
There's a few other challenges I'd love to enter this card into so I'm off to hunt them down and add links... but first I would love to say Hi and a big (((Wave))) to new follower Diane from 1cardcreator who has a very busy blog, with all sorts going on, pop over and say (((hi! )))
That's it for now, I'm still not here so I'll put this on timer with Mr Blogger. back later, to add links!! Thank you for stopping by.

It's A Girly Quirky-ness! Shaker Card

It's that Quirky time again, or it should be, when the Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog starts off with a new Challenge,. Thank you to every one who entered last time, there were some really lovely Chocolate and Cream projects! We'll soon let you know who the winners are! Now the next fortnightly Challenge is a really nice easy one. We want you to go all....

'Girly Girly!!'

Anything you consider to be really girlie, lots of bling and sparkle, gems, feathers, make-up, dresses, handbags, shoes, or just something very simple, like a lovely photograph and a few swirls, in fact anything, you consider 'Girly' we'd love to see it over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge...

I'm not really girlie but I decided it was about time I did another Shaker card (That's my motto, if in doubt, do a shaker card!) and added a few flowers, tear drop gems, a gem butterfly, a dotty bow, a sparkly flip flop and a paper frill, oh and loads of sticklers Glitter too!
The lovely papers are 'My Minds Eye' (Pretty Please Spring Papers) and were a freebie with Cardmaking and PaperCraft Magazine a few months ago. Tilda was coloured with Promakers, of course. I haven't put a sentiment on, but it will be a birthday card. I have a few June birthdays coming up! Well ,there you have it! Come and join in!! Thanks for stopping by!

Two 'Mad' Bears

As usual I'm late for the Midnight Madness Challenge #25. Thankfully they are a little behind us so I still have a bit of time. It was a nice easy sketch, even for me. I cheated a bit on the brad. I can never get those little legs in and the paper or ribbon to lay straight, so I cut them off and fixed the star brad on with silicon glue. The papers are all 'My Minds Eye'. The little bears are a download from Tinker and Co. (Paws For Thought) Very quick post this as I've spread everything over the desk and the bed (still dog sitting) and hubby has just said he wants to walk the dogs and go to bed! Least I think that's what he said! Oho, lovely surprise in the post today (I nipped home) Some paper flowers from Midnight Madness as I was one of the winners in their blog hop. (Look out for another blog hop coming soon!) My Halloween card was picked by Charlotte, one of their fabulous DT members...
I've just got time to say hello and a warm welcome((Wave)) to new follower Anesha! Who most of you must know as a DT member of loads of Challenge Blogs including Tilda and Funky Fairys and ...oops no! Have to come back later...umm...pop over and see some of Anesha's lovely cards... umm.... someone's turned the lights out...D'you think that's a hint!?!

A Sophisticated Midnight Challenge

I feel really guilty. (No you don't!) I've eaten all my Chocolate Cookies... and only made one card! But I'm hoping it will do for two challenges. Firstly it was made for the Midnight Madness Weekly Challenge #24 which is a sketch, although I have added a few more bits, I hate having too much 'open space' on a card. And secondly for Sophisticat Challenge #8 No sketch, but a colour combi of pink and brown plus flowers! Well, I think this covers that! There's more flowers on the little envelope and the tiny card too!
Once again, I'm not happy with the way this new camera takes photo's. It hates getting too close to the card even though it has an auto imaging thingy that can detect blinking eyes and smiley faces. probably why it's rubbish at taking pictures of cards! (I do ask them to smile!)
The lighter coloured card was taken outside...obviously, as I don't have bushes growing in my living room! (So you say...) And the orangey picture was taken two minutes later in my craft room. The craft room picture being closer to the real colours I think.
I've used my (new) 'My Minds Eye' papers, and an image from a forum swap. Even though it's only on paper, I've managed to 3D her little bonnet. I've coloured her with ProMakers and Copic pens. The little envelope is just pink Copic scribbled over paper and then punched out with an Envelope and Embossing Woodware punch and the same with the pink paper, the sentiment is typed on. (It's one way to get te colours to match!) The freebie font is called AdineKirnberg-S. You can download AdineKirnberg-Regular HERE and the AdineKirnberg-Script HERE. While you're there check out the Coca Cola type font too!
I've made this card for a friend's birthday, and because her birthday's sooo close to Halloween I usually do something really scary ...I guess I could squash a big hairy spider inside! (oops, sorry Charlotte!)
(Update...I changed my mind, I've now sent this card to Eloise instead! One that didn't need a spider!) and tis one has gone to my sister-in-law
