Happy 10th Birthday Oliver-Better Late than never!

Well, it seems I missed nearly the whole of August! How did that happen?? Where have I been and what have I been doing??? Never mind. I'm here now. Lot's been going on, but nothing to shout home about really. Just mad panic when it happens! Daughter Emma and Grandkiddies went to Seattle, USA. to visit Maria for ten days. I was meant to go too, but chickened out. Probably the lack of a proper invitation put me off and the thought of 'other things too'! (like, no John to stop me from panicking) Although I did do some dog/house sitting and walking, and Emma's cat Ozzie, came to stay too!

Anyway!! It was Oliver's 10th birthday while they were away, so I of course, I made him a card. I'm not too pleased with it. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I had it in my head what I wanted to do, but my 'thinking bit' obviously wasn't connected to my 'doing bit!'!
For a start I made the box too small to fix all the layers I wanted to add to the inside...and I forgot to add the frame I'd cut out... as it vanished into the next dimension and was lost forever!
Nearly lost the little guy in the plane too! I added that because they travelled by plane to get to Seattle....The little guy, would you guess, is a baby kangaroo! Fits in that plane perfectly!

On the back I added a Happy Birthday envelope with some birthday money added to it...All the images are Lawn Fawn coloured with Promarkers. And the papers I just had in my stash!

I decided to add a slider to the front...At first the Fox was zooming along willy-nilly, and was hitting his head and not looking cool. So I changed the card circles holding him to two 5p coins...but they prooved too heavy and too stuck on to change. So the bit I cut out became a pully to keep him up straight  and the rabbit helped stop to him. It's a bit wobbly, but I think it works...sort of!

I've been watching 'Darcy's Misadventure Mixed Media video's on YouTube  trying to tidy her craft room and it's given me hope that I CAN get my smaller just as messy craft room organized...and tidy! So, dare I say it?? Watch this space!

Two more pictures of Ozzie the Cat. He was really nice having him to stay. He slept mostly under the bed, on any bag he found, in doors or out doors, my shoes, and loved snooping in shopping bags!

That's it from me for now. Thank you to all who have asked me where I am, it means a lot! Just off now to do a bit of dog walking! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Bird-day! To Yvonne!

Yay! I made a birthday card! The inspiration actually came from the 'birthday girls' garden. Just outside her kitchen patio doors is her bird feeder. Always busy with birds and squirrels! I did forget to take a picture, but while I was there over the weekend, I managed to take some photos. (Which was why I've been 'not here' all week...very busy, doing things)

As you can see it's by Lawn Fawn, just right with all the birds and squirrels on the real bird table! I should've added more bitterflies there are 'billions' of them in the garden!
The grass and the sky were made with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide  in blues and greens using a stencil and flicking water and added die cuts. Everything else was coloured with Promarkers. Then I just added the birds and feeders where I wanted them...Seeing the feeder is waaay bigger than the bird table I tried to make that look like it was closer and in front...There were a few mistakes, (One obvious  one, which I couldn't cover up, my dyslexia always gets that spelling wrong!)  but the rest got covered up with more birds! In side the card, I've added Yvonne herself, as a mouse, using her binoculars! That's it for now! I'm not here again...Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Tom!

I haven't done a birthday card in ages...Tom hinted on my calendar  ...'don't forget to post Son in laws birthday card'. So I hunted out a card I'd done for a design team that wasn't quite finished....saved a lot of time as a lot of the papers I wanted had already been printed out. I have quite a few ring binders, numbered and coded (I'm so sad) so I know where they are on my laptop, if I need to print more...a bit of a rush but managed to catch the post with minutes to spare. Sorry Tom, that it's not men on bikes but monkyes in boats...but there's not a lot of difference...and the moneys are cute. I was thinking, they're off for a beach/camping holiday soon so...in a way, it fits!

The image is 3D-ed by the much missed Bugaboo, and coloured with Promarkers...I made a little envelope to add a birthday treat, which....

tucks into a pocket. There's plenty of room for writing a message. The papers are all by PinkPetticoat, with the theme of the beach. I have three ringbliner files filled with their papers from decades ago, mainly because this laptop has no way of playing the CDs I had bought from them. So glad I did. That's it for now! I'm off to bed! Thank you for stopping by!

#GelyPostcardPlay Number 19- You do blue

Yep, Hedgie sez, 'You Do Blue!'  July 19th so that means, here's No: 19 of #Gelypostcardplay, a month long challenge engineered by the one and only CeriTheCrafter!

This time I've used one of my own Digi's...Hedgie with his Sunflower, only of course, it's blue and not yellow. Like everything in my craft room, (and at the moment, in the kitchen as well!) this fell out of a page in a file straight onto the floor, so I had to pick him up. Crafty little hedghog, he knew I'd start wondering how I could use him on my next postcard. Was still thinking of 'Surf's Up'...but couldn't find the 3D embossing Folder I waited. (It's under that heap in the corner probably!)
So, I set about drawing all those little leaves and petals and storks stems, onto Geliprinted paper with a Shapie, cutting them out, gluing them together,
but they weren't enough.... needed something else and what just happened to fall off a pile of stuff...a piece of fern tissue paper. Perfect!
I placed the ferns over a greeny/yellowy/gold/white spotted, leaf stamped post card, then placed Hedgie to one side, where it looked like I could make him a 'path.' I stamped his watering can on another piece of gelipainted tissue and then set about adding all those flowers. The number 19 is the tiniest diecut number set I have and kept sticking to everything except where I wanted it! I also used a white gell pen, Posca pens,
(because of Ceri, I've now ordered some different sizes and more colours!) a black very thin brush pen, there's even a tiny bit of Lawn Fawn in there! Oh! and the bee! My white gel pen wouldn't work on the card sooooo, I cut the bee from a packet of Poppy Seeds, so the red in the background sort of blended in! The words were done on my laptop. You do blue! I covered everything (and not just the postcard!) in decopatch. I bought it a while back, when it was half price at Hobby Craft. And that's me done!! Google #Gelypostcardplay, and see all the YouTube fun! Thank you for stopping by

Happy Gnomey B Day David!

I was invited to a Birthday Party sometime back, which all happened this last Easter weekend, I wasn't sure I'd go, because y'know, not having John to go with but then, I thought, well, why not? Go! Pop in, say hi, pop out again. Ok! But first. You have to make a Birthday Card. (Of Course) I knew I wanted to make a kind of garden scene...and would use a fancy fun fold flip out card.. or whatever they're called (my favourites) with a gnome,  flowers, dogs, maybe cats, a chicken... couldn't find a chicken, even though I know I have one somewhere...

First of all I started off with the stamped image by  Woodware and coloured four of them with my ProMarkers so that I could later 3D the image. Then the rainbow looked a bit odd having grass at the bottom so I found my 'cloud' dies and used them at the bottom. Seeing David's small garden is divided into sections, veg, flowers, etc I added carrots. The dog is supposed to be Big George, who I used to walk a few times a week ages back. For the background behind the gnome and the clouds in front, I used different shades of blue Distress Oxide and also used the same mixture of blue ink on the topper plus some blue mirror card.

Because my printer is still printing out blurred images, I hunted through my many folders of downloaded freebie papers from magazines and found these rainbow/cloud papers already printed out on good paper. I then made more 'grass' using different shades of green distress Oxide  and I also diecut out some 'grass'

Some of these are LawnFawn images. The wheel barrow, pots, watering can, some of the flowers, the little folk and trowel, come from Die-cutting Essentials magazine #113, the balloons, dog house, little dog and treats are LawnFawn. All are coloured with Promarkers.
The little garden sign I drew myself.
(I had a stamp, but it was pointing the other way) The Rainbow/cloud background paper, you can download for free from HERE (you may have to sign in) These papers  originally came with Paper Craft Inspiration Magazine #138 May 2015! Just to prove that the oldies are the besties!

On the back of the card, I've added a place to add your sentiments etc.

That's it from me! Hoping to add this to some challenges later! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Emma! Party in the woods Birthday Card

Yay! I have a daughter that is older than me! (big fib) but maybe not in years! It's her birthday today...she was a breech baby and came out feet first and still to this day has scars on the soles of her feet! How did that happen? (I tell every one that!) This is her birthday card! I do love it and I know she will too. This took me ages to make seeing I started it over the weekend (which will make the Wednesday Freebie late again...sorry) and for once I will be looking out for some challenges, I mean  where are they all? There used to be hundreds of challenge lists. Let me know if you know where they've gone! Anyway! I took a few pictures with the card inside this little white 'put together box 'with light!' (from Temu, it comes with different coloured background too) You wouldn'tt believe the crafty mess that's behind this box! (yes, we would Lyn)

I love the little mouse coming out of the tree house door with a macaroon. The windows are sweet wrappers. Most of the animals and the Tree House are LawnFawn.

The banner and the balloon I think came from The Works. Other bits come from The Range, online, years back, or from magazine 'freebies'. I coloured it all in with my ProMarkers...and also used some Tim Holtz distress ink/oxide

I 'invented' the background by die cutting loads of clouds and tree leaves in green, and sticking them all together, so it would frame the birthday party and make it look like they were in a clearing in a wood.

I think it turned out ok. It goes flat for posting by either pushing it up or down. I pushed it down to fit into the envelope I made.

That's it for now, Me and Emma...I mean, (Posh voice) Emma and I, are going Ikea shopping. Haven't been there in years! Will treat her to lunch and something new for her new home....(That's another card I made and haven't posted yet! I'm soooo behind!)  So, freebie with be very late again sorry! Have a great day! Back to add challenges if I find any! Thank you for stopping by!

A Teddy Tea-Time Forever Tuesday

A quick post today as  I'm still trying to put the Christmas decs away, my hallway being the main dumping ground. It's surprising how many things suddenly appeared the moment I closed the attic door! So, four or five trips up and down the ladder and that should do it! Meanwhile, I'm joining in with T stands for Tuesday. (Because it's Tuesday!) No Tea, but a cup of nice hot Cuppochino and a few biccies, (which I've already eaten!) squashed in with, which I oddly decided to stamp and colour first thing this morning, a Time for Tea Forever Friends stamp. (found yesterday at a charity shop) I'll turn it into a card, maybe do a bit of 3D-ing. Have a Happy Tuesday! It's sunny, but frosty here. Thank You for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Debs for The 15th of November

Another birthday I nearly missed. Sis in laws....I won't tell you how old she is. She started dog walking/boarding about the sometime as I did so thought this doggy card would be just right. But I have a little niggle in my head that I may've done a card like this one some years back. The coloured scene (using Promarkers) fell out of a folder and I thought! Yes! I'll use that one, and quickly fixed it to a cut down card... made an envelope and another little one to add some birthday money in. Nice and quick-but you should see the state of my craft room now!! It's worse than ever.  I MUST do something about it.... I have some one coming to sort out the camera stuff, which John got ages back, on Monday, so I could video my cards... I can't keep doing that on the egg-box with a biscuit to balance my phone. (so I can have my hands free to play at crafting!) Anyway! This is a Bugaroo image PNG-ed over the sky background and then 3D-ed. That's it! Quick and simple! Thank you for stopping by!

Update. Yes! I had used this image twice before way back in 2014... https://spyder-spyderscorner.blogspot.com/2022/02/the-2nd-on-2nd-2014.html  Now I know the sky background was from PinkPetticoat. Whatever happened to them? And the strippy background, done with (Promarkers) is one of my foreverfreebies.

 You'll find the freebie-wonkie-strippy-paper HERE

Aw...dam...it's started raining again.... Better go and draw this weeks freebie!

Happy 8th Birthday Oliver!

Rawrsome Lawn Fawn
Happy 8th Birthday Oliver!  I 'bought' Ollie a card, just in case I didn't get round to making one. But I did, even though I couldn't find the waterfall die set that I had in my hand two seconds before it disappered, only to reappear after I decided to do a 'waterfall-card- -that-didn't-really-water-fall' if you know what I mean.  It still worked out okay though. This is #RawrsomeLawnFawn. Oliver is right into dinosaurs. The 'bought' card had a pop out T Rex and I bought him a T-Rex T Shirt too.

I started off with a black blank card. I also made the background 'sky'  by blending Distress Oxides, adding splatters of white, bronze and metalic acrylic paints, a little squirt of water too. Then I stamped out all the dinosaurs and volcanoes a few times and coloured them with my ProMarkers, and die cut them.

Then added the sentiment, 'Hope your Birthday Is Rawrsome!'

Hiden under the 'waterfall' is a tiny envelope containing some birthday money.
I cheated a bit on the inside as I used the pink and blue freebie papers from a craft magazine. (although my printer had a mind of its own with the true colours!)  I also added a touch of White gel pen and the 8's are black glitter stickers.

That's it for now! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Oliver. Card Number Two. A Tri Fold Card.

Here's  Oliver's second card I made for his birthday. I've called him Ollie the Owl of course. This  die set, along with matching stamps is designed to go with aTri-fold card,  is by Crafter's Companion, which I'm happy to say was waaay less than half price (£2.20) at The Range and seeing all you get are the frames with a little bit of the owls outline, that's about right!  I would've been a little peeved at paying over £9 for them! (I also bagged a giraffe over the edge set from the Crafty Charity shop for 50p, worth it even if one thing was missing)

I swapped the heart in his 'wing' for a birthday pressy. Coloured in Promarkers and used papers from my stash from years ago, called Abstract Prints by the then Dovecraft.

The Happy Birthday die, the party word and party hats and the Banner dies were from The Range and were also well below half price. Yay!

The paper on the right in this picture above came from a 6x6 paper pad called 'Neighourwood' Another one I love and just haven't wanted to 'cut into it'  But I will! I added it to cover the inside 'window' with some foiled leaves card so you couldn't see the sentiment through it.

This is the back. I've made a 'pocket' with  a secret message, telling Oliver to say the secret code, which was 'I'm Ollie Owl', and nanny, me, would give him some birthday money! I loved making this card  and it would be very easy to make another using other animals in my stash! My only 'thing' was, I wish it had a whole die for the owls as well. As it was, you could only die cut the owls heads and then fussy cut the rest of them to fit onto the card.

That's it from me! Thank you for stopping by.
