Bugaboo Gus Fridge Magnet

Makes a change! A fridge magnet! Well, it was going to be a card, but I liked it so much I fancied being able to see it somewhere, and where do I always find myself a trillion times a day?...looking in the fridge for any choccy left overs!
I did have a mind to make a calender (with months and dates, not holes) using Gus and eleven of his friends... but was impatient to finish it, as I couldn't find any next year dates saved on my laptop... loads of 2009 and 2000 but no 2013! Might make one later.
Here's my fridge magnet. It's on my fridge so not a very bright picture. I've used Gus-tidbits-WTF in his garage. Now I've typed that, I have other ideas ~ garage doors...oil cans... nuts and bolts... spanners, with greasy bits too.... a man's card ...I'll make that one later too.
What did I do?? First, printed out the digi, made him the size I wanted him, copied him a few times, coloured him with ProMarkers... except the main image...the one with the green background. I just happened to have a few of Summer Driggs Scrapboook papers in my 'My Craft Studio' programme so picked the green to use as the 'wall' behind Gus. (Used Gus as a PNG) This paper comes from the set called Beautimous Kit and you can download it for free HERE (Stay awhile and leave some love!) I then cut different bits off Gus (he didn't mind!) His arms, his hair, left his ears! Also cut out extra tyres and the bin and 3D-ed them over the main image. I also added extra pages to the calender on Gus's wall, curled and ripped the top one.
On the back of the card I've fixed some magnet strips.
A quick reminder that Quirky Craft's 'Make as Laugh!' Challenge is still on, just! so there's still time to add your funny cards, if you're quick! It's sponsored by Bugaboo this time round and they have a 50% off sale at the moment!
New Followers!! Hi and a BIG {{~wave~}}} to Teresa, with a fabulous blog called Crafting all days cards with a link to her son's fabulous art work... would've joined his following but I hate having to put my date of birth (why?) coz I'm very old and cranky! And there was already a Spyder! Then there's Tabithgrace, no link, and out the back and in the dark I've found R.J. also with no link.
I've just spilt Crunchy Nut Cornflakes all over my keyboard! So that's it! Better unplug before I blow up! Hope you're not all scorched beetroot pink with sun stroke or up to your knobbly knees in muddy rain water!! Thank you for stopping by!

Laugh! I've Caught the Quirky Bug Again,

Hi Bloggers! It's Time for another Quirky Crafts Challenge! Pop over and join in!! Here's my Card!! We are very lucky to have Bugaboo sponsoring us this week. Yay!! and they will be giving our winner/favourite Seven Digi's of their choice!!! And for those of you who don't win, now's the time to pop over to the bugaboo digi store coz they have 50% off! Caro has set a fantastic theme to go with these digi's
Make Us Laugh!!!
what could be easier than that!?
(Staying in bed all day)

No! come on, get out those mojo's, you have two weeks to make anything you want, enter as many times as you like, have fun, just make us laugh! Simples!!!
Here's my card... I've used Gus Tidbits New Truck printed out twice, once over the cloud backing papers (PinkPetticoat) and the stripy paper. This looks like two separate pieces of paper doesn't it, but no, the clouds and the stripes are all one piece. I left enough white card to add another Gus image next to it, so I could do a bit of 3D-ing! In the second image I' cut out Gus from the trucks window, but left the steering wheel and his arm, I also snipped off the headlight and that fencing whatknot in the back of the trunk.
To finish off I added some Glossy Accents to Gus's glasses, edged the card with a black ProMarker and added some mock stitching using a fine black liner. I also added ribbon, brads and eyelets from my stash. The stripy papers are my own, made using Promarkers and can be found as freebies HERE. Hope my card makes you laugh! Thanks for stopping by!

John's Birthday Card

Bit late, but then I'm always late! This is on timer as I'm not here. I have to somehow get John (hubby) to his sisters this afternoon for a surprise party woooohooo! (His Birthday was on Tuesday)
... all very easy....I think not!
But this is a very simple card. Two Bugaboo images used inside and out. The one on the front of the card has been printed out twice so I could do a bit of 3D-ing. Coloured with Promarkers, added a few of my own balloons and some Stickles Glitter glue.
Number backing paper I've had for years and have no idea where it came from. Probably the local crafty shop which closed down years ago, just when I found it!
The two fonts I've used are calledInked, which I can't find at the moment but here is Inked Weird, which is near enough the same and Teenage Angst.
Instead of fixing the papers to the inside, I've left them as an insert. The sentiment with the images come as part of the Bugaboo download.
Now then, what's next? Ah my secret thing that I couldn't show you on WOYWW...ummm? not yet...I might save that for Wednesday. Tomorrow, it's the new Quirky Challenge, and I haven't even started my card yet!! Oh dear!! I do have some challenges... hope I'm not too late adding them! But first...
New Followers!! Hi and a big ((wave)) to C Helen Carter-retired and loving it! a fabulous blog of the same name, pop over and see! I'm A Messy Pup!

I suddenly realised, with all my tidying up of my craft room, which still looks a mess I might add, and scribbling digi's, I haven't made a card for over a week! I had loads 'to do' on my list and this was one of them, now I'm sure I've missed the challenges it was intended for, but never mind!
Digi image is by the one and only Dustin Pike and is still available as a freebie!!
He's been 3D-ed! (I mean the digi and not Dustin of course!) I printed him out 4 times (I still have black ink) and the papers??? Made especially for this card by li'le ol' me! (Well they're just stripes drawn on a bit of paper with my ProMarkers)
I wanted something bright, but being out of coloured ink, couldn't print anything. Everything I had already printed was either flowery or pink, and not really 'doggy' enough.
I then decided to colour the dog's dribble as blue paint instead, to match the stripes and then the sentiment almost made itself! It's a kind of another take on 'from me to you!' I was going to add a paint tin and brush...thought better of it, but might still do it, still have to finish the inside. The splodges and the paw button were enough for now I think.
The Font is a freebie, I've linked before, it's called ~ and what else could it be but... 'GoodDog'!!
(There's one with extra 'dots' to download here as well)
Did I scan the paper I made into my computer? Yes. Of course I did... and if you'd like them, you'll find them on the post below this one, just save to your computer! They'll be there forever. Not sure how they will print out, but anyway, there's a good tip in there somewhere... if you haven't got the papers you want, make them yourself!
Sorry about the 'yellowy' pictures but my daylight bulb popped just as I lined up the card to take the pictures. I've been using it for the last two years or longer and before that it was rolling about in the garage, so I spoes I shouldn't grumble!!
**Update. Just finished the INSIDE of this card. See post above for more pictures! (and I've 'hidden a freebie in it!) Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Mason Rain!

It's Mason's 2nd birthday today! Happy Birthday Mason! Wish I could be there. This is the card I ended up sending.
Thinking that a cheeky monkey in bright colours might be more favourable than the pastel coloured ark. (As long as he doesn't eat the bits!) which I made waaay back in February, then I found again...(I'm always losing things... shoes, glasses, car keys...)
I've used another Dustin Pike digi this time too, coloured it with ProMarkers, of course. I've decoupaged or 3D-ed him and added another candle as there was only one.
First I coloured about four monkeys, (monkies?? No, that doesn't look right!) kept one as the base, then added another whole image, so his hat and feet, which had been sliced off by the Nestie die-cut, would still be there. (He didn't mind losing his feet) Then added a tailless monkey, (Ouch!!) then just a head, (he was used to it by then!) and an extra present and candle... (If you understood all that, you're cleverer than me!)
I've used freebie brown gingham backing paper, which is available HERE. The green paper with chocolates dots came from Pink Petticoat.
The Font of course is a freebie, I've linked it before, it's called Baby Kruffy and you can download it HERE.
The top sentiment line is printed as it types out in 'Word' and the red was put into WordArt (on your computer) and coloured there too.
Inside I've used green paper for the insert to go with the green card and added a Penny Back Stickeroo. All fixed together with either silicone glue or photo glue.
This photo was snagged off of FaceBook. Mason playing with the Duplo Lego we sent him, via his Aunty Emma and Uncle Tom... Like I said. Wish we were there!
At least the card arrived this time, (You can see it in the pic below) not sure if the tiger card I made last year ever arrived, as they don't have a postman out there and a couple of my cards have come back, undelivered.
I will add some challenges later, have a few lined up but I've (ummm) lost my little note book... which is no surprise seeing the state of my craft room!! But it's toooo sunny to tidy up!!! Thanks for stopping by!

For this challenge we're sponsored by the lovely Digital Delights by Louby Loo who have provided some great jungle images for us on the team to use, including our GDT too! This is my make... coloured with ProMarkers.... I've used Dillon the Lion, which I've decoupaged, (printed him four times, the first one, I changed to PNG and printed him straight onto the paper animal paper, also available from our sponsors, so I didn't have to cut round his tail) The other tiger and giraffe papers are from Freedownload digitals. (There's loads of other papers. Link always on my side bar) The two fonts I've used are freebies. Crazy Loot BTN Inline and Apple Boy BTN (some sites do charge for this one) Other things used, Pink Petticoat paper (the green grass) black card (from Trago Mills) Nestabilities scalloped circles, Woodware paw punch, X cut border punch and as you can see, I couldn't make up my mind about the eye-wool...
So, over to you!! Make anything crafty you like with a Jungle Theme... Lions, monkeys, zebras, fur look papers, Jungle leaves, big paw prints. Come up with something fantastic and join in! Pop over to Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog and have a look see at what the others have come up with! Back 2 Skool!

I don't really need a 'back to school card', but I thought I'd make one anyway (just in case!) using my latest digi. Found HERE in my store. I once made a card for Oscar, Tom's (son-in-law) little 'nephew', only trouble with that digi was, hubby, who quickly became an expert on copy-writes and other digi artists, wouldn't let me put it in my digi store! (meanie) as he thought it was too much like another well known hedgie, so this year, I did a Mole, can't go wrong with a mole! Here's one of my Back to School hedgehogs on an ATC from last year Here what do you think?(Nah! It's nothing like it, is it!)
Anyway here he is, Digger the Mole, looking all Moley and off to school... Hopefully they'll soon teach him to spell and not make mole hills in the lawn!
Coloured with Promarkers. The brads are soft plastic. There's an Apple, a pencil, an A+, a star and there's also a little yellow school house and a yellow school bus, just like they have over in the USA (but not here in England)
The black and white backing blackboard type paper is a freebie, it's called back 2 school and you can download it HERE. Scroll down to the bottom of the sites page. There's loads of other things, so you'll want to book mark this site if you haven't already!
The light numbered papers (designed by Hot Off The press) was a freebie from Craft's Beautiful Magazine way back in 2007! Yes, I've found them for you HERE. Because it's wwwaay back there are no pictures and you will have to login/register so I would paste and copy the page first, which is...
http://www.crafts-beautiful.com/index.php/download/pattern_pack_backing_papers_crafts_aug07/
then login and then paste in the above address, otherwise you'll never find it! I don't think the paper is as large as they were in the mag, but you will get some templates too, which might be useful! Or, in the meantime CardMaking & PaperCraft Magazine have some fabulous pink banner papers HERE called Happy Days! I haven't used mine yet.
The sentiment I did on the computer using a black background and white writing and cut out with Nestabilities.
The font is a freebie I've used before, but if you missed it you can download Billy Bear's Crayons HERE where you'll find loads of kiddie type fonts to download!
I 3D-ed Digger The Mole to make him 'pop' a bit and added Glossy Accents to his glasses, so they shine! I also used my new thin ProMarker nibs to colour them! He'll be in my Digi Store very soon! 99p (quick plug there!)
New Followers: Hi and a big ((wave!!) to LauraB, who's a Crafty Little Woman fab blog with journals and other things, pop over and say hi! and Chris with no link and out the back and in the dark Lynn b! But I think this might be you, My cards n stuff ! Lovely blog! Now, I did type this out last week, so I hope all my challenges are still open! Thank you for popping by!

10/10/10...it has to be Spooky Quirky!

Well, with the date being the 10th of the 10th 2010, it had to be spooky didn't it! As it's something that's not going to happen again for a very long time. (Ok...but will 11/11/11/ be spookier, I wonder?) I was going to put this up at 10 to 10, but thought better of it. Well, I don't want to tempt fate as I've already had my car break down three times this last fortnight. First, the gears changer thingy went 'crunch', which meant no gears. Just got that fixed when the long bit with the bolt and spilt pin came undone, leaving only third, fourth and fifth gears, but no reverse or first. It's surprising how many right hand turns on hills that suddenly appear when you're trying to get home! And then, yesterday....the exhaust fell off...I sounded like a boy racer. Fabulous!! (but very noisy!) So, that's the three, hopefully no more please!! Oh, I forgot, yes, it's still drenching me in water every time I go round a left hand bend...
So as you may have already guessed, it's that Quirky time again. Quirky Craft's new Challenge has started over on the challenge blog.
This time round Caro has set us a sketch.. and here it is. Nice and easy! So, all you have to do is make something crafty, anything you chose, (it doesn't have to be spooky!) anything from altered art, atc's, tags, scrapbook pages, to journals and of course cards, as long as you follow the sketch, (or there abouts!) then pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in. This week Caro is putting up some Crafty goodies for the winner!
My DT card it's approx 8x8 and is for a young friend who has a birthday right at the end of October, so she just has to have a spooky card. (will add inside pictures later) I've used mostly Pink Petticoat papers and fast becoming my favourite Halloween Penny Black stamp (as it's the only one I've got!) "Trick or Treat" Coloured the image with Promakers and did a bit of decoupage and!!! used my latest MS buy, a bat corner punch, which was half price! (sorry, there was only the one!) I added three black eyelets and then tied some black and purple eyelash wool through them, not sure why, it seemed a good idea at the time! I wrote the 'Boo!' But the font I used for, 'Too Cute to Spook' is a freebie, it's called Horros (you even get a little duck with it!) and you can download it HERE and for loads of other lovely horror fonts go HERE
I still think the card needs something else, maybe a bit of Stickles glitter?
That's it for now, thank you for stopping by... I had some challenges in mind, but seem to have missed most of them! (boo!) but here's a few more I found...

Quirky Recipe, no Cooking Involved!

Evenin' all! (bends knees, tips hat) Don't get too settled in front of that TV, The Quirky Crafts Challenge has started. Cazzy has set the challenge for this fortnight and she wants you all to get your sewing boxes out! (Moi?) This time round we'd like to see you make anything crafty but it must include the following:
Recipe
Stitching (real or faux)
Lace (paper or real)
At least two different buttons (colour or shape)
and finally, a colour; teal or turquoise

I've made a birthday card for a Do-it-yourself fan and a Christmas card. I'll post them separately as I'd like to enter them both into different Challenges.
This is the birthday card. I've used Pink Petticoat papers (here) in teal (negative and positive) Three buttons of a different colour, paper lace, using my MS punch, stitching drawn on using a fine maker pen and topped it all with a 3D Squeak, the decorating bear, (from the Daisy & Dandelion Collection) a long with some extra stamped out paint tins and a sentiment from the same set. I've coloured him in using Promakers, added a little bit of Stickles glitter, gems from stash, and screw head brads from Woodware. Easy recipe, so pop over to Quirky Craft's to see what Caro and the other's have made and join in!

Penny Black Trick or Treat

I'm determined to get this on today (it won't fit you) but it's not quite finished. Bit of eyelash wool, glitter and of course a sentiment. would be useful. The printer (that we dragged down from the attic a week or so ago) has decided it doesn't want to print, (which is why it got shoved in the attic in the first place!) just when I was about to print out 'Too Cute To Spook', because he is, isn't he, the mouse, and the cat as too, although, either that pumpkin is the tiniest in the world or, that's a gi-nor-mouse mouse!
First time I've used this PB stamp, so I thought I'd do a bit of decoupage with it. What d'you think? (don't give up the day job!) well, it can only get better! Pink Petticoat papers again. MS punch and a strip of acetate, recycled. It was once a Promaker packet. I'll be back later, with the 'finished' card, more pictures and to fill in challenges and generally do stuff I've forgotten to do!
New Followers. Hello and welcome ((wave)) to Beary Wishes pop over and see some lovely cards, I like the owls! Hi, Carolyn who's already here, naughty blogger should've told you! Hi to Rusty, who's on the Stamping Dragon DT and Susan (aks Tomsmom) with some lovely crafty-ness. Anyone out the back? Aw, I'll look tomorrow. Sleep tight!

A Bit of Yellow Quirkyness

I'm back! (says me in an odd squeaky voice) This is my DT card for the Quirky Forum Challenge, which starts up again today after a little Christmas Holiday beak ~ I mean break. I've been busy all day, well, for most of the day, making this lovely card, for someone...(tell you who later!)
This time around the challenge was set by Ann, Chocolate Fudge Cake, to make a yellow card. (well done Kazabing, who guessed right!)
I printed out some lovely Pink Petticoat papers called Grannies Wallpaper last night and had it all set in my small brain on what I was going to do. And then, lost the printed paper's. Easy, says you, just print out some more. Hmm. It was at this point my printer decided to turn itself off again. So!! The hunt was on for yellow paper! Could I find some? No. And then I remembered those little booklets of freebie papers you get with magazines. (which of course hardly ever get used) And luckily, I found these yellow papers, which I think are that bad! Yellow with a few other colours too. I used a lilac card, so edged everything in lilac to match. Ok, so what's wrong with it, you say. Well, nothing! Only it's suppose to have a duck on it! and it wasn't until I loaded it up onto the DT blog, I saw all the other little ducks...and a camel... I mean, I didn't have to use the duck but you see, this fortnight the challenge has kindly been sponsored by Quirky Forum member Debbie, who most of you might already know is the owner and designer of
Debbie has very generously offered one of her Digi down load images called "Roshell with Brolley" for the DT to work with and has donated two stamps as a prize for the winner of this fortnights challenge!!
So? where's the duck, we wanna see Roshell! Okay! Okay! He's on his way...come back in ten minutes, he's a little shy...and still gluey!! While you're waiting, pop over to The Quirky Forum and have a look at what the other DT members, and Debbie, have come up with!!

Meanwhile 'Thank You' for dropping by!!
Oh boy, do I need a chocolate bisqwit!

Let it Quirky well Snow!

Here it is. This is my DT card for the Quirky Craft's Challenge. This time (have I mention it? once maybe twice?) it's my turn to come up with an idea on what to do. While I've been on the team there's been Vintage, Rough and Smooth, Out and About, Halloween or Autumn, also Masculine and a Recipe Challenge. So I've chosen to do a Sketch and here it is.
Don't worry, you don't have to follow the colours just the shapes but even then you can swap it about, flip it, use circles instead of squares, buttons instead of brads, flowers instead of gems, whatever really!
I've used a 5" square card, silver miri board, my favourite Penny Black Snowman again (I have him coming from America at last!) Couldn't find him anywhere here!) Gems from my stash and Woodware snowflakes brads also Woodware punches for the scalloped circles & snowflakes and a Martha Stewart fern punch. I've coloured him using ProMakers and Copic Pens. The blue paper snow flakes and the sentiment were coloured using a blue Copic pen, so the colour would match up. I've 3D-ed Snowy, just to make him a little different from the other Snowy cards I've made and added a bit of silver-grey 'eye-lash' wool.
If any of my followers join in with this challenge, and are picked as the winner (Me,myself and I, Mrs Judge lady!!) I'll add a little something extra to the prize!!
While I've been blog hopping, I've found PaperPlay Challenges and their challenge for this week is called 'Read All About it' and if you look very closely you'll see that behind Snowy The Snowman are the lyrics to 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland'! So, I'm thinking he'll fit right in there too!
Now then, any freebies?? Yes, course there is! All the papers I've used are from a 3 part Scrapbooking kit by Martine called Winter Wonderland and can be downloaded from The Craft Table Blot Spot (you'll find some gingham papers there too!) I've added an insert using more of the papers and another Snowy. Actually that would make a nice quick and simple card too, wouldn't it!? (yes Lyn)
What else? Ah! yes the font, that's a freebie too. Great isn't it? I quite often write like this on cards, but it looks even better typed! This was done in WordArt on the computer so I could get the word to 'flow' and also use another colour so it looks like there's a shadow, but it looks just as good writing it in ordinary Word, as you can see above, on the insert.
The Font is called Cool Dots and can be downloaded from ScrapBooking Fonts. It's a site specially for Scrapbooking fans, so hunt out their other lovely freebie fonts while you're there!! Or you can download it from HERE too!
I'd love to welcome new follower 150!!!! (ding dong ding dong!!) Annie! From Annie's Space. I was blog hopping last night and came across her lovely blog and had to follow because I fell in love with her 'Gnome Fold Card' and I think I'm going to pop back later and ask if I can 'Clipit' so you all can see it, (I know how lazy you are!!) But, come on, there's nothing on the Telly, (except Spiderman of course!) go and have a look!!!
Well, that's it for now, back later to add more things and correct all the smelling misstakes.
Don't forget to pop over to Quirky Crafts and have a go at this (wonderful!!! coz its my idea!) Sketch Challenge!! Thanks for stopping by!
