A Little Blue Tilda

I made this little Tilda card for a Challenge and then just didn't get her finished in time. Where has the week gone, it's just flown by.

I've used Pink Petticoat Papers, paper pieced Tilda's dress and 3D-ed her pocket and coloured her with ProMakers. The little Doily was from Liz, thank you Liz! The sentiment was done on the computer, another freebie called Buttercrumb and you can download it HERE
The little gems on the wire were really made to decorate a candle but as I'm hardly going to do that, I thought they looked nice here. It doesn't show up very well, but I've wrapped them round a separate piece of printed paper over card. The ribbon was fixed on using one of those X shaped sticky machines. There was a bow, but it didn't look right. The punches I used were Woodware and Martha Steward.
I think my big mistake was using the wrong blue for the flowers, Blueberry instead of Bluebell, at least they match her dress. To finish I covered the flowers and leaves with Stickles Glitter. I've used Christmas papers and a Christmas Tilda, so could this be counted as a Blue Christmas Birthday Card? Hope so! I'll probably send it to a friend who's birthday is on Christmas day! Two Tilda's and Maybe a Stickeroo

For those of you who aren't Tilda fans, look away now. Not one of the speeches lasses but two. I'm so indecisive. I couldn't make up my mind whether to have a standing Tilda or a sitting one, or even a Penny Black Stickeroo, so I chose both, or maybe all three? Some would say you can't have enough of a good thing, other's would say, this is no way a good thing!

Ok, over did the glitter on the flowers. Or more like, I spilt the glitter on the flowers. And the glitter wording?? It would've been better if my glitter had been finer. It's double-side sort of sticky stuff from Papermania, you rub it on, peel off the top cover and then cover it in whatever, the glitter in this case wasn't such a good idea. Foil might've been better, or maybe that fluffy stuff, but I quite like the shadow affect it makes. (effect? I'll look it up later)

This card was going to have the cute puppy dog on it, (Saturday's post, same style card) so in reality, it could've been a whole lot worse! Definitely not a cute doggy card! and speaking of cute dogs, Shell has made a lovely card with her Doggy 'Charlie' digi I made for her. She has my Digi store, Spyder's Other Corner, banner on her side bar and every month I'm giving a little prize to a banner holder. Your own Digi. (Or something from the store!)
Back to the card...(I'm easily side tracked.) All Pink Petticoat Papers, of course (look out for Vintage Rose, on offer until the 1st August) and if you look closely, dresses, socks, shoes, bow, and parcel, (which was green) have all been paper pieced. And, I took pictures to prove it. The pocket has even been 3D-ed. Well, it was either make a card tonight or tidy up or paint ... so I made a card... Maybe I should've tidied up!
The freebie font inside the card, already been mentioned, but for those of you who missed it... (Whisper) it's on Saturday's post.
Now I did have some challenges in mind when making this card... Two images, buttons, ribbon, paper piecing ... acetate... flowers... I even wrote them down... somewhere.
The little Stickeroo, you will be pleased to know, isn't stuck in, he's fixed with some white blu-tac...(A little trick I've learnt. If you're not sure what image you want to use, fix them on with blu-tac, in fact, you can stick anything on with blu-tac and then take it off again... and change it all...well, why not!

Well I did get a bit of painting done today. Hubby has a week or so off, so he's painting the house...He hates painting. I've promised to do the inside. Meanwhile, I, myself and me, repainted the front door, in a nice mahogany and it doesn't look half bad either.

Calvin Klein's??? Still pink... Give them up as a lost cause?? I hate being beaten by a pair of pink Y fronts, specially posh ones...

Ribbons of Quirkyness

Hi everyone it's that Quirky Time again when I wonder what day it is! The New Fortnighly Challenge has started over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge blog, but who knows, we like to keep you in suspenders! (but there was no sneak peek, Lyn) Yes there was... I had the wrong date in the date thingymejig, so I can't blame Mr Blogger! We'll just sweep that aside and not mention it, just like that goal the ref didn't see... (Shoulda gone to Speck savers!) I bet they use that in future advertising!
We still haven't worked out who's won the last challenge, because once again we can't make up our minds!! There were soooo many lovely cards and other makes, thank you all for entering!

Ribbons!!

Here's D.T. my card. I know, I've used those papers again, but I do love them, and I'm beginning to really like different patterned papers that match. All the papers are by 'My Minds Eye' (Pretty Please Spring Papers) and were a freebie 6x6 with Cardmaking and PaperCraft Magazine a few months back. I've edged all the papers with dark blue chalk ink, just to make them stand out a little bit.

Sorry about Tilda, I must get some more!! (I only have two, and the other one's a Christmas one! This one is, Magnolia Jam Tilda) I like the way she just sits there on the eyelash wool. (Or wall!) I've used both pastel green and pale blue on her dress to get it to match the papers.
I did have a different ribbon across the corner, one that was in the same Papermania ribbon set, as the eyelash wool but you know when you look at something and the wrong thing stands out, like a big sore thumb, you just know it's wrong, and I'd stuck the thing on, but it just had to come off!
I replaced it with this much nicer softer polka-dot ribbon (and it hides the little rip in the corner!)
I did a bit of dry embossing on the stripy paper. I put it through my BigShot in the 'Happy Birthday' folder. I didn't sand it, just left it as it was. You can't really see it in the Photo, (not even when you double click it to make it bigger, but you do get a good look at my Harry Potter books and DVD's!!)
Now, who's the clever cloggs who can spot the sketch I've used... Yes, it's next weeks Midnight Madness#60 so I'm hoping it's okay to add it to the challenge even though that hasn't gone out yet. I thought it was a really nice one this time so just had to do it!!

Birthday Tilda

Did this little pint sized Tilda card for a card competition on one of the forums I'm on. Card Making & PaperCraft, which was really lucky as I also had to make a very quick card for a forum buddy who joined the birthday card list about two days before her birthday!! So, off it went...hope she liked it..

Of course the Tilda was already coloured with Promakers and Copic pens and cut out, otherwise I guess she would've taken a little bit longer. I put half the card into the embossing folder, used the ribbon to cover the bit that didn't get embossed and for something for Tilda to sit on.
Normally I would've probably put this card onto a larger card as a topper and added more bling, more flowers and at least one butterfly, but it doesn't look too bad...except for the flowers...couldn't find my quickie glue pen anywhere so dabbed a bit of PVA glue onto the centre of the flowers and then spilt the glitter everywhere! Aw well...at lest it wasn't milk!

See! I told you it was easy!! I've seen some really fabulous cards and other makes using flowers, so I can't wait to see what you all come up with!! And who doesn't love a flower or two or three!!
This is my DT card for the challenge. I've used five different Pink Petticoat papers, on the first card all with flowers, oh, except for one, which has a poem and a varitety of flowery papers on the cards below. Some of the papers have tiny little flowers, while others have great BIG ones!

Back to my card...Tilda was stamped twice once onto card and once on to patterned paper and then coloured with Promakers and Copic pens, and cut out. Her dress, socks, bow and ribbons have all been paper pieced using tiny flowers made even smaller by printing the sheet out in a smaller size.

I'm thinking I might add this card to the challenge over on the Digi-shack. Not sure if Tilda will count though, but they are doing paper piecing this time round . I won a prize from there the other week so looking forward to using some of their images!! (Can't wait!!)

Right! I'm back! It's been a lovely day, couldn't miss all that lovely sunshine and...I needed some glue!! So, while I was walking the sea wall and then hunting down some glue at the (not very local) craft shop, I put this on the timer... and the wrong draft (with no pictures!) was published so, I hope the right one is showing now!!

I did a bit of 'playing' with this, because I wasn't very happy with the thickness of the scalloped card, so I thought I'd add it to another card and show you how one card can easily become four or more!!

I've added a sentiment too. The font is too cute coz it has flowers on it!! It's called Floralies

Emma's Birthday Card

It only seems yesterday that Emma was a tiny toddler, proclaiming that the wet puddles throughout the kitchen were made by 'Dolly' "Dolly did it!" was one of her first sentences, along with, "Where's it gone...oh there it is...!" You can imagine my surprise when I suddenly realised that I was saying that throughout the day, every day so no wonder she copied!! But she's now reached the BIG 30...very scary, more so for me I think. Hubby John can't believe it either. He's thinking of dying his hair!

I hunted through my many folders of printed out papers and these pretty purples sort of shouted at me (use us! use us!! use us! use us!!) but not in such a squeaky voice.

One of my 'aims' this year is to use up some of the freebie papers I've printed out, mainly to remind me I have them hidden somewhere on my computer. That's the one great thing about downloads, they are there forever or until your hard drive blows up!
They all have their little codes, so...supposedly, I can find them. (Ha!!) Across the bottom of these papers, I've written 'Jen Reed- Majestic-You. Paper4 and Paper 5 and Tag. Scrapwow. So I know to look in the Scrapwow folder on my computer.(As if!)
The tag, as you can see in the picture is already torn, and just right to sit my new Tilda on. Thank you Jen, who ever you are, they're lovely papers! And I've really loved using them to make this card.
I've coloured Tilda with Promakers and used Copic's on the skin-tones. The style of the card has been in my head for ages, I think I saw one like it somewhere while blog hopping. It's made to look as though it opens at the front like a gatefold, but it doesn't! The front bits are quite firmly stick down! Should've made sure those brads were a bit straighter tho'!
Just found a link to someones gallery over on 'Scrapateers', where they've used the same papers in the way they were made for! A scrap book page. The font on the page is called 'Michaels', so it says...or they may've bought it from Michaels, nevertheless, here's a free font called Michaels, that you can download HERE
The big silk flower and leaves are from Papermania, the ribbon from my stash and the little pearls left over from Emma's wedding. I've added 'stitching' and Stickles Glitter. Tiny brads and gems. A Jammy Birthday Tilda

This card should be winging it's way to a blog buddy, who's just had a birthday but knowing me it's probably not, cos I'm all behind as usual!! This is Magnolia Jam Tilda and it's the first time I've used her since I won her on a challenge that Simon Says Stamp was sponsoring. I think she's sooo cute, so I'm gonna have to bore you with at least ten trillion more this week!! (or maybe three) I've used Pink Petticoat Papers, in lavender, which looks like lilac, depending on where I took the photo. I also Decoupaged Tilda, added Stickles and Micro fine glitter and used my ProMakers and Copic pens to colour her in.
Another first was, I used chalk to smudge the background behind Tilda. I'm hoping to add this card to a few challenges...Simon Says Challenge 'Punch' (I've used Woodware, Martha Stewart and Nestabilies) and also Creative Card Crew who also have 'Punch it'. Passion for Promakers, Any Colour and 'girls girls girls..'


I'm having trouble with 'Spam' ever since I took the word thingi-me-jig off... I really would like to know what YOU think...on, off, or wait for approval (which confuses me when I leave comments because I never remember if I've already left one or not!) Let me know!! I'll leave it off when I do Challenges but it might go back on if I get any more 'Spam' (I can almost feel a Spam song coming on!!)

A Christmas Card for Mum and Dad

This Tilda card I made for my Mum and Dad. I used Papermania papers and my Stampin' Up prize papers over some gold miri card that I fixed on to a folded green card, then of course I couldn't find an envelope for it! You've probably spotted that I quite liked these papers as I did a few similar cards, one being Tom's and Emma's card, which I posted here on January 1st. The Christmas Tree brads I think were from Woodware, the image was a swap, which I've had for ages but only just found Christmas Eve! (Yes I was still making cards Christmas morning!) I haven't found her to buy yet, so I'm not sure of her real name but if you've seen her let me know! She has wings, so does that make her an angel?? I hope so, because after doing a spot of blog hopping I found The ABC Christmas Challenge blog. This time round the Challenge is A is for Angel, anyway, I think she's an angel so I'm going to put her into the challenge! Pop over and have a look, I bet you have an angel card that'll fit in with this challenge too! There's also some blog candy going too, all you have to do it post about it and add this badge to your side bar. I did turn off the word variation, it was off for about two to three weeks, but I'm afraid I was swamped with spam...so I'm sorry guys...it's gone back on!! (No...I've taken it off again...)
Back to the card!! The red dotty ribbon is from my stash. I used double sided tape to fix the ribbon and silicone to add the bow. As you can see, it was a little too wide, so, a sprinkling of gold micro glitter hid the extra stickiness! Sorry for being a terrible blogger lately. To make up for it I've added a few more posts down below...! Hmmm...that sounds a little painful!

Terrible Tuesday!

Okay, so it's only half past nine in the morning (as I type this but it'll probably be midnight by the time it's posted!) and you would not believe what's gone wrong so far! I spilt thousands of tiny gems and buttons all over the floor! Trod on a tube of glue! I put my Crunchy Nut Cornflakes down and Frog the Cat licked them up and then found a slug in the bath! A spider I can understand, but a slug!??? And there it was, with it's little wiggling eyes on stilts waving at me, (That'll be it's antenna Lyn) enjoying my shower gel, because of course I didn't spot it until I was actually in the shower with shampoo in my hair!! A peeping Tom Slug!! Aggrh! (Or rather, "EEK!") I quickly flicked it off the shower curtain and into the sink. In seconds it had disappeared down the plug hole! Bit of trivia...slugs can squeeze through anything if they want to. Screw a piece of wood to the floor and a slug will still be able to slide underneath it! I've seen one do justthat! No, I didn't put salt down the drain... the thought of a slimy dead slug stuck in the U bend put me off! (And I'd probably have nightmares of being chased by a giant slimy slug!)
Camera once again is only taking pictures of ghosts, so I had to result to the 'free in a posh cracker' camera to take these pictures. I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it. I thought I'd have to use the images the DT on The Crafty Pad was using on their cards, which I didn't have, but then Maxine told me 'No, anything goes!' (But not slugs!) So I made this card over the weekend using The Bubble and Squeak papers from Docrafts, and a sized down Tilda (put her through the scanner, she didn't mind) and coloured her using both ProMaker pens (her jeans) and Copic pens (her face, hands, headscarf, socks) Then sprinkled on some micro-glitter. Of course it's too late for last weeks Challenge (as I couldn't take a picture) but there's another Sketch going on this week that looks just as yummy. Slug permitting, this card will be winging its way to Middlesex, all be it, very very late, sorry!

A Quirky Funky Tilda

A Quirky Funky Tilda...Get it?! No? Well, I thought it was a good title. Made me grin. Then most things do. Sandals with socks. Small wigs on big heads , and false teeth worn upside down... long story...

Quirky because it's for a challenge over on the Quirky Forum. Funky, because all the papers are freebie downloads from The Funky Fairys and Tilda... because there's a hedgehog on the front. Just kidding! (Double checking you are actually reading this!) There was a sketch to follow... which I followed, until it gave me the slip down a very dark alleyway and I wavered a little with the added flowers. For the insert (which I've left blank for the moment) Tilda was made a little smaller on the computer, then added to the finished page, which was scanned and saved so it can be used again. The insert inside this card though, is the original.
I used ten (!) Woodware punches on this card. (If you count the one on the back you can't see) I've just treated myself to one of their new ones. It's called 'Huge'. Here's a picture of it. I had to put the others in too, otherwise they'd get jealous and jam next time I use them...
I also did a bit of cheating... I cut the middle out of the first piece of backing paper. There is a name for this, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. Well, you're not going to see that there's a great lump missing out of the middle as it's covered with two other layers. I used the bit I cut out to make the flowers.
While I've been blog hopping I found another challenge, which has used this same sketch, but for the life of me I can't remember who or where it was... so, pop back later to see if I've found it, or, better still, maybe you know where and who!

I found it...Pink Elephant....last month! Bit late for that one, but they have a good one going on this week for Dustin Pike fans...

Little Pink Tilda.

Just a quickie, honest! I found this little Pink Tilda card hiding in a box. I've been tidying my craft room, so of course, it's still in the same mess, if not worse than it was at the beginning of the week.
I can remember I printed both sides of the Pink Petticoat paper for this card so I could fold the corners back but wasn't sure if I'd added enough, 'stuff'. Sometimes less is more...or is that more is less? And the poem inside was a little...ummm, well the wrong one for this card. But I guess I can always change that.
Anyway, as I said this is a quick post...but first... Yippee!! I've won a challenge! Yes! What d'you mean, no one else entered! Cheek!! (I'll pretend I didn't hear that!) So I'm really excited. Which card won? The card I made for Winnie, my mum's friend who reached 100 years old last Monday. This one.....
I nearly didn't enter, so it just goes to show you, everyone should hunt out the challenges, make cards and have a go! Wow, I won! Yippee! And talking about challenges, (Clever link there...) we have some new followers! Well, one picture with two faces. Hi Guys!!!

Little Lilac Tilda

Agh! I missed yesterday! Where did the day go?! Oh well, mustn't grumble! At least I wasn't abducted by aliens..."Good Morning Wednesday!" (It is Wednesday, isn't it?!) Here's a Tilda card I whipped up as I suddenly realised I'd nearly missed someones birthday. Yes, it's that little Tilda from down below, on the ATC. She's sooo cute. A very quick card. All Pink Petticoat papers. I put the lilac sheet (it has tiny tiny white dots on it) through the BigShot trapped in the CuttleBug's embossing folder and tore round the edges and even though this paper is only Tesco's Finest* 120gsm, it still managed to scuff up really nicely after I sanded it with a nail file. The tiny flowers, I punched out from dotty paper. Mmm, maybe I shouldn't left them out, or inked the edges or something. I added a little Stickles glitter to the centers. The adhesive gems and glittery ribbon are from Papermania. The flower button's from my stash (a buy two get three bargain) the curly corner is a Cuttlebug die-cut, that just happened to be the right colour,and fell off the shelf onto the glue, so I stuck it on! The star was a brad, but I cut it's 'legs' off (ow!) as they weren't centered, which made it really hard to line up with the ribbon. I couldn't at first make up my mind which way round the card was going to be. Think both ways would've been okay! Before I nip off, I'd like to say a big "Hi!" and a big (((wave))) to two new followers! Tiny Tilda and Edwin Atc's

I don't do ATC's very often, hardly ever, but decided to make these as I'd scanned the two lovely images of Tilda and her little friend (Charming Edwin) through the scanner and made them smaller than I wanted them. It seemed a shame to waste them and they both fitted so nicely on the pink ATC card !
The pink flowery backing paper isn't backing paper at all. It's a gift tag, add ribbon, a couple of gems, micro fine glitter, a flower and a bit of doodling and colouring in with Whisper pens and hey-presto!
Okay, so it's not a work of art as you'll see over at Cheryl's and Patties but hey...I can only get better!!
