ATC Swap: 3D Poppies

So, what can you make from a 6x6 sheet of backing paper? Four ATC's and an Inchie, what's what!
Which gave me the idea for these. Seeing we didn't have quite so many swappers on the November ATC swap over on the CM&C forum, I decided to make a few more.
Of course I wasn't going to heat emboss the added (ready cut chipboard) Inchie, but I rubbed the PVA glue off a little too hard on one of them and it roughed it up a bit. I thought, (wrongly) a bit of clear embossing might hide it!
Of course I had to use two 6x6 sheets of paper in the end to make these, but we won't mention that!
I ended up using the left over scraps and decoupaging a few more bits. They're a bit curly in the photo as my daylight lamp gets very hot!! And you can't really tell they've been decoupaged.
I think these papers might be from K&Co, but seeing my local (not really a) craft shop only sells them as single sheets, I'm not sure.

Now, can you tell which Inchie got roughed up a bit? probably not. (Do you care? Not really!)

I still think they need something else don't you? (besides throwing in the nearest bin)
How about a little bit of Stickles glitter? Hang on a sec...
There you go...That's better.
I was hoping to find a few little challenges somewhere and have ffound one for the 'butterfly' ATC... that's of course if they don't mind ATC's! (as it has a butterfly on it!) and a few others too...
Other ATC's in this CP&PC Swap here and here...or just scroll down

Good Luck Jemima

I've known Jemima since she was a baby, a few years younger than my own girls. And yes....she did have a Jemima Puddleduck, duck and Beatrix Potter pictures on her bedroom wall, and I did have an unopened freebie packet of Beatrix Potter Card Toppers from a Crafty Magazine just begging to be opened ~ use me use me use me!!!~ I could hear them squeaking, but...no...I used this little image instead. I'm not sure who she is (a Tilda friend?) as she was a forum swap, but I think she's cute. And, I at last (very bravely) cut into one of my very first buys. K & Co 'Purple Butterfly Flat Paper', so it says on the back, but I think it looks more blue.
Because we arrived home quite late yesterday after chasing the yellow clad T shirted bike riders, I hadn't had a chance to make this card, so 'pottered' (bad pun) about until the early hours trying to get it finished. A Good Luck Card. You may've seen her. (Who? Jemima. When? Sundays, just for a few minutes)...But I don't want to tempt fate. She has an interview coming up. A very important one. Life changing I should think..So fingers crossed! Sssh! I'm whispering this, as I don't want to say too much in case it all goes pear shaped.. or worse...banana!
The flowers and leaves were punched out using Woodware punches, and that silver swirl down in the right hand corner is called Glitterations, by Anita's. I got them from Trago Mills for 79p when we were down in Cornwall, but in most places they're about £1.25. Wish I'd bought more packets now! I think the pearl brads were Papermania. I coloured the little girl in with a blue-Prussian ProMarker pen and a water brush. The pink leaves are that linen look Bazzill (Basil?) card but the pink on the flowers was some scraps of Pink Petticoat (I throw nothing out!) There's also some micro glitter on her wings and heart, but, at last my Quickie Glue Pen has run out (I've still got it, hoping it might magically refill itself...it hasn't) and instead, silly me, thought I'd bought a different make of glue pen only to suddenly discover, as it squirted out all over that little heart and her wings that it wasn't a glue pen at all but a white correction pen! Thought it was a bit thick....aw- well, no one'll know if I don't tell them!!
Right!! That's enough rabbiting! We have some more followers!!! Five more! We really must have a party!!! ((I'm right on that Rose!!...what film is that line from??? Hmm??) I may have to pop back later to put in links. So, a big thank you (((wave))) for joining Spyder's Corner goes to Rita. who not only has some lovely cards but boxes and little handbags too! We all 'know' Susie Sugar from her blogs and forum activities! A very busy crafty lady with a fantastic Challenge blog , a Crafting Blog a Die Cut Blog and a shop! So loads of things going on! Pop over and say hi! Then we have Elfie with a mixture of cards, ATC's, door hangings, and boxed cards for weddings and then (((Hello)) to Victorianangels... I'll have to put a link in later, as there isn't one at the moment! Or there is, but I can't find it! Then say (((Hi)) to Sweetdesigns who makes cards as well as Jewellery and also has a shop, so pop over and have a look! That's all for tonight, (It's about two in the morning) I'll be back tomorrow, or later today, if I'm not abducted by aliens or locked up somewhere away from sharp things, to correct all the smelling mistakes and to make sure the links work...
Sweet Dreams everyone!!

Charming Edwin

It's been really hot today! Summer's here at last! (Shh! It'll rain tomorrow now!) I've been out in the garden for most of the day and I thought I'd just quickly get this in before Britain's got Talent comes back on! Is there anyone in Britain watching anything else tonight?
Here's a little Star. Charming Edwin, he's rather cute, isn't he, with his lovely bunch of red roses. I coloured him with the ProMarkers. (I think I can safely say they're mine now, shhh!) I'm happy with the jeans but the jumper? Welllll...it looks like I washed it!! Sort of shrunk and faded! I wanted it a fraction darker around the edges and without thinking I picked up the wrong colour in a Whispers pen. I really think the Whisper Pens should be numbered or named! The times I've picked up the wrong 'red' and it's turned out to be the dull pink, or a rose that's had an argument with a pale purple. Used the K& Co papers again, sorry to be boring but I wanted to use up some of the bits. I save all the bits, no bit is too small! The lacy 'ribbon' is self sticky, but had a few little tears (as in 'tares' not the watery kind) so I added the flowers to hide that. The Do-craft 'Just for You' was stamped onto the oval, once I'd punched it out. The 'Crafts too' punch jammed ~this was with paper, and I had to unscrew it to get it free again. Really not happy with that punch, but it's so useful! The slightly larger oval, which it's mounted onto is a Woodware. Soooo much easier to use. I cheated a bit with the insert as it's a copy of the one lower down the blog, I ran it through the scanner, but no one will notice!
John's been dying to get into the picture for ages, so here he is! The other evening while I was busy taking pictures, he suddenly appeared in the hall outside the craft room and said, "Take a picture of me!" And he began posing in various Mr Universe posies~but at the same time, drawing my attention to what was behind him, in our bedroom...he'd only gone and piled up all the ironing....six basket's full! I do use my ironing board! Honest! It's great for crafting!
Before I go I'd love to welcome four, no! another's just arrived! Five new followers! Thank you so much for joining us, we have enough for a right real rave now!
Stillcrazybutcute' (Ha could be me!) no, StillCrazybutcute is the one in the hat! Love that hat!! Pop overand see Madeline's cute blog! Sandie, who some of you know and are also following. There's some lovely pictures and ATC's over on her blog, please nip over and see. Mel (who appears as a very cute rabbit~ I had a wabbit like that once!) she has a very new blog with some truly original cards, beautifully coloured and some Pink Petticoats (one of my favs) and of course, a picture of a rabbit.. then it's hi to Debs. Please pop over and see some of her lovely cards, they are really worth a look!! Lovely works of art and great colours using copic pens (Are they better than ProMaker I wonder??) And last but not least, Lorraine over on Coldwaters2, who I found tonight, while blog hopping and also has a picture of a rabbit! Lovely lovely Tilda sitting on her watering-can and a cute worm (which I tried to email for the freeby image but I have the wrong email, aw shame!)
Undate on Willy The Worm, I've now got him! (I've put in links now)
It's The Old Gaffer's Festival over on The Isle of Wight all this weekend, so we'll be nipping over to Yarmouth tomorrow. Have a good Sunday!!

A Quirky Challenge

I've just joined another forum, (oh no~ let's hide!) Quirky Crafts and provided I can remember where it is and the password...(since my laptop's come off sick leave, I've lost a lot of my passwords...)I'm thinking I might enter this Tilda in to one of their first challenges. I followed their sketch, which was really easy...(it didn't walk very fast) and used those K and Co papers I used further down the blog, K-Ology. They're growing on me...(no, not like bindweed, more in a papery sort of way) I love that mauve, and the green has mauve threadled ~oh alright, threaded ~ through it, but that doesn't show up in the photo. I put the lighter mauve through the the BigShot and embossed Happy Birthday all over it, using the Cuttlebug folder, punched out the flowers, with a Woodware punch and coloured Tilda with my (dad's ~ shhh! I've still got them) ProMarkers, then did that thing with the insert I did before, ran it through the scanner so I can re-use it, but this time missed out the Loony Lyn.
Internet was playing up again today, the lady in India suggested we 'turn the computer on...' so I'm late posting this, it's already tomorrow!
Oh before I shoot off to bed, a quick hello to two new followers! Yay! ((Wave)) Ellie who has some lovely blogs for you all to go-look-see and Gez who I found after doing a bit of blog hopping, really lovely Tilda card and yummy stuff to check out. Right ! That's me done! Good Night...sleep tight...I never did get what that meant.... z z z z z z z

K&Co Papers

A couple of days ago I set myself a challenge. To make a card to include some ribbon, a button, an image I’d never used before and also something from my stash that I'd never used, in the form of that purple meshy wiry stuff, what is it usually used for??? It was rubbish to stick! And an image sent to me as a RAK, but it's not stamped, definitely a computer print out.
So, no Penny Black Images and no Pink Petticoat papers. My very first buy into the crafty world of crafty stuff was K&Co scrapbook papers, from QVC, and I still have them, wrapped up in their box. To cut into them seems to me to be a bit of a crafty crime. And once cut... I was scared/worried/insanely paranoid I'd ruin them.... Wellllllll, this is why I set myself the challenge... it’s time to come out of your comfort zone and do something different…. add a bit of something I haven't added before and here she is….
Hmmm...back to Pink Petticoat and Penny Black tomorrow, I think!!
