Life's A Beach!

Happy Friday The 13th! A Good day...until my tooth cracked again (oh poo!) Obviously the super glue trick didn't work! (** Hamish called it 'magic glue!' It was only temporary, but I think even he thought it would last longer than a week! but!! it was Friday the 13th! and I wasn't eating thick lumps of chocolate, honest!!)
Back to the card!! I made this card for Bugaboo's first Wacky Wednesday Challenge over on Bugaboo Stamps- Crafter's Digital Art Center. It's a Colour Challenge this time, red, yellow and turquoise. So I thought I'd have ago.
Here's my card with that cute little monkey having a swim, although I always thought monkey's didn't like water. The stripy boarder was just scribbled round the edge of the card and coloured with Promarkers. I added a bit of reddish/pink spotty paper and although I was looking for some buckets and spades, I did find a seagull, so fixed that on with a dob of silicone glue. (Cut it's button legs off first) Then did a bit of 3D-ing on the monkey, printed him out four times, so there's a whole image of him cut out using a scalloped Nestie and then one minus ears and tail ( It's a digi! It didn't hurt him!) one with just his head and then just his nose.
I've added a bit of my own background, coloured that with Promakers too.
The font is a freebie. I rather like this one! It's called Pea Johanna Script, link to this site is always on my side bar but I know how lazy you are so you can download it from Kevin and Amanda's blog
Anything else? The pale blue boat paper you can just see inside is a freebie, (I'll probably change it as it doesn't really go with those bright colours on the front)...you can download it from Mad About Cards... and that I think, is it!
Phew, second time I've typed this out, so glad blogger is up and running again!
Once more, as the post below this one, there were a few challenges I had added, but I'll have to check them out again, so will add them later. Happy Friday everyone, have a great week end! Thanks for stopping by. A Card For Dylan is HERE

A Peachy Dustin Monkey!

I know I'm going to be too late for this Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge as I forgot to take a picture of the card when I had my mum's camera, so....I had to dig out the 'camera free with a posh cracker' (link goes to 'old' photo) to take this picture this morning!! So, pop back later for the upgrade in photo's!!
(New photo's now added)
There's a sketch to follow (I'm sure today is the last day) I like sketches, if they aren't too 'mad' with loads of stuff on them, as it's nice to add your own twist on things. Anyway, here tis and if you were here earlier you'll notice I've changed and added more pictures. Regular bloggers will know the monkey is the art work of Dustin Pike. I was lucky enough to win some of his fabulous images in one of the challenges he set back in May. I've coloured him (the monkey not Dustn!) with ProMakers and Copic pens and did a bit of 3D-ing! First I printed out three monkeys. (and reduced their size) The first monkey I punched out with a large Woodware punch (I have a good left hook, cutting off a bit of his tail and head..ow!) The second monkey was then fixed over the first and then I added another layer with just the cake, and finished off with a bit of micro glitter. The little cakes at the side are from a Bubble and Squeak clear stamping set. The Papers are Pink Petticoat, pink dots to cover the card and then the pink gingham was a freebie from Madabout Cards. Now the font, for all those who love free fonts is called Boyz R gross NF and is available as a freebie HERE. I've typed this out in WordArt so I could use the two colours. It's classed as a Comic, Cartoon font, so I think it's great for this type of card.
Pop back soon to find out who's won....

Quirky Shopping ATC's

Another beautifully hot Summer's day. Hope you've all been out in your new bikini's sunning yourselves! No? me neither...the world is not ready for me in a bikini! Martians, perhaps but definitely not that! (shudder)
I aimed to finish the card I was doing yesterday, along with a couple of other things, but still no photo glue and a round trip of nearly forty miles for a £1.99 tube of glue really would add to my carbon-footprint! Hopefully, my on-line order should be here tomorrow!
We've spent most of the afternoon in the garden with John's Mum and Les, talking them out of going to Curry's to buy a new TV and to buy one on line instead. (A lot cheaper!) After a packet of Jaffa Cakes and two cups of tea, that's what we did! ...And talking about 'shopping' (were we?) I've made a few ATC's for the Quirky Forum Swap. "Shopping" Hmmm, okay, I know everyone will probably be doing shoes and clothes and pretty things, but shopping to me means a trip to Tesco's to buy Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, Nescafe Cappuccino, bananas, cat food, chocolate, oh and not forgetting the Radio Times and a Crafty Magazine! So...that's what I've done. Found some tiny pictures of said above, scanned them, cut them out and stuck them down using a glue stick. (Not keen on using a glue stick on cards) The backing papers were freebies, flowers, watering cans and gardening tools, but is well hidden.(I used them, because I like going shopping for gardening things too!)
I added a star (for bargains) a brad, for...well, like a clipboard thingy for your shopping list, and a heart because, I heart Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. I then added a few words like, crafts, chocolate, yum, shop, on line and a couple of arrows, which I coloured using my one and only permanent ProMarker!!! No good? I'm not sure either. One of the ATC's has a real till receipt...Kit-Kat's, Cat food and a Crafty mag clearly marked! I only need two for the Challenge...haven't decided which two yet. Maybe I'll make a couple of pretty ones as well!
It's not quite midnight yet, so before I go I'd love to say a big hello and welcome to three new followers! (((Wave))) First Shirley, Nannieflash who has some fantastic cards full of bling and all things shinny. Pop over and say hi! Elaine, over on Quixotic Cards and The Copic Colour Challenge Beautifully fantastic cards coloured (of course) with Copic pens, (hunt out the Web-Shop too, for some lovely charms!) And last but by no way least, Riet who has trillions of followers and a truly lovely blog filled with amazing cards., I don't think I've found a blog with so many comments! Please pop over and take a look. These blogs are just yummy, and full of ideas and inspiration!
Back tomorrow, with any luck, with some more Blog Awards and a couple of makes, one a very late Birthday Card for a forum buddy. (Sorry...no glue!)
