Quirky Spots and Stripes! With Embossing.

The new challenge has started over on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog! This time round it's...

Spots, Stripes and Embossing!!
A nice and easy challenge, which was set by me! I was soooo engrossed in doing that and double checking the spelling, I forgot all about doing my own post!! So, here it is...a bit late. This time we're being sponsored (which means prizes!!) by the lovely...

The lucky Design Team Choice Winner, will receive not only a selection of gorgeous spotty polka dot ribbons, but also a selection of these lovely striped ribbons and some lovely buttons too!! Our second sponsor is none other that yours truly...

I will give the winner of the Public Voting a choice of any 5 digis! (More in store very shorty if not sooner!) So, what d'you have to do?! Simply make anything crafty that will fit into this 'Spots, Stripes and Embossing Challenge.'
Easy!
I've made two cards this time. This is my first. I'll blog about the other one later. I've made a pocket card using Forever Friends Double sided Christmas paper. Tiny spots and little stripes on red. I've cut the A4 sheet so I have a piece measuring 4½" x just over 11" and scored at approx 3½ and 8½, the smaller flap tucks up to form the pocket. Folded strips of paper form the gutter at the sides so it will hold a gift. In this case a few stamped images. The closing flap doesn't have to have acetate added, you can always lower the topper so the card is supported. More Pocket Cards Here (Made with12x12 )
I've 3D-ed and embossed the Forever Friend Stamped Bear about four times, once including the heart (Black ink and clear embossing power) coloured him in with Promarkers, cut him out and fixed him together with silicone glue. I've used my Nestabilities (Large Deckled Rectangles, which are also embossed) to make the topper and used silicon glue once again to fix it to the card. I've added embossed acetate a long the bottom of the card, mainly to help it stand up. The acetate is nice and thick as it was once a Promarkers packet! (The flat side not the bumpy side!) The little Forever Friends bear inside was leftover from another card I made in the week. I haven't added a sentiment yet, but it will probably be, 'Just For You.' I've also added a black shaped heart to hide the brad hearts prongs (or legs) Think it still needs something on the inside.. and when I can decide what it is, I'll add another picture!

Box Shaker Card. (Made with Freebie Papers)

I made this Shaker Valentine's card for a sketch challenge over on Card Making and Paper Craft, (front of house rather than on the main forum) I've used only papers that you can down load for free from the same place.. (or come with this month's magazine!) I've squashed in five flowers instead of four, which only proves I can't count! So I hope that won't matter! Also, look out for Bev's card on the Front Cover of the Magazine!!! (and crafty bits inside) How cool is that!!
I've made more of a box shaker this time, only because I used some thicker 3D foam pads. I've added an extra strip of paper around the box so's to hide them.
The little Forever Friends bear (is part of a set) has been coloured with Promakers, although the heart was paper pieced so the colour matched with the card. (My only red Promaker didn't match at all!) If you're very quick there's still time to join in! I have tried to enter but unfortunately all you can see is four empty spaces...!! (doesn't that make you mad when you can't delete something that's gone wrong!?!) Anyway. This is the card! Go hunt out those freebie papers, 'From The Heart.'
There's a few valentine Challenges I've found while blog hopping. I hope I'm not too late to enter and will add them as soon as I've double checked!

Two Quickie Forever Friends Christmas Cards

Aw, you thought Christmas was over, didn't you and if you didn't know me better you'd think I was getting ready for next Christmas! No...I just mislaid these two.
I did both these cards very quickly, you can tell can't you, don't answer that! I'd already sliced the top half off the red backing paper for another card, so then had the bottom bit left with the Forever Friends 'Rudolph' Bear. Can't really do very much with it, other than make a narrower card. So I sliced about an inch off a 5x5 card, added gems, red glitter elasticated Christmasy cord, a strip of the red backing paper with red dots and some punched out fern leaves. I did stamp Merry Christmas, but smudged it so did it again and covered it up.
The inside font is a freebie, it's called Freehand591 I've linked it before, but if you missed it you can download it here
The next card, well... I was playing with my new Forever Friends stamps. Used a bit of Liquid Appligue and glitter for the 'snow' and micro glitter on the bear's scarf. Coloured with Promakers of course. There doesn't seem to be enough 'bling' on them so I'll probably re-vamp them before next Christmas! (What's the betting I'll forget where I put them!)

Another Quirky Recipe!

Quirky Craft's Challenge has started over on the challenge blog. This fortnight's Challenge is a recipe set by Anne better known as Chocolate Fudge Cake...(ohooo now I'm hungry, I really fancy a Nutella sandwich...and seeing I'm typing this at 1.30 in the morning there's no chance of that!!) right..the challenge is for you to make something crafty, (of course) it can be anything, so long as you follow the recipe, it's okay to add a few more things if you like, (old tyres and hobnailed boots, might not be such a good idea though, keep it simple!)
Recipe
Two different types of gold (ie paper, card, embellishments, ribbon etc)
One patterned paper
One length of ribbon
One stamped image
Colour scheme red and gold

For my Card I've chosen a Forever Friends stamped image, which I received in a swap last year, (coloured with ProMarkers of course!) some Forever Friends paper from their A5 pack, 'Santa's On His Way'. Some gold miri board that has been embossed, a patterned gold card for the base and some gold cord (can't really see it) and a red sentiment ribbon from my stash (which I received from a crafty FaceBook swap some years ago) I've also added red and gold brads and some fern leaves cut from my MS punch and finished off with Stickles Glitter.
That's it! Pop over to see who our favourite was for the last challenge and the lovely project made by our guest designer, Joanna, then come and join in...I'll be back later to fill in a few more things that I've forgotten and add some challenges too! BFN!!

And because it's a 'boy' card I can remind you about the Quirky Craft's Challenge going on right now, so get your 'man' cards over there!!

ATC's Teddy Love

Haven't made ATC's for ages but just lately I've been making three lots of three. Needless to say I got them all muddled up and nearly sent the wrong ones to the wrong swap! I actually got to the Post Office and that little voice in my head said, "Hey, aren't these suppose to be Love" and you know, for once that little voice was right!
These ATC's were made for a swap on The Cardmarking Down loads Forum. The theme was 'Love' (of course!!) I usually do them all differently, or a bit different, but this time I did them all the same, just slightly different colours. Pink, Red and Magenta.
I used Forever Friends clear stamps, coloured them using Promakers pens. The main paper was a freebie ages ago from ScrapGirls called 'Bright side papers Pink Heart' and I think they go quite well! There's a few Love themed freebies over there right now.
Back tomorrow with more ATC's... (The one's I muddled these with) and how's about a sneak peek of my first DT card for the One Stitch At A Time Challenge blog??? Hmmm? I might let you see a tiny piece of it!!! We already have 70 followers and we haven't even started yet! So don't forget to call in. It starts February 14th!!! 12 noon!!! Oh My Goodyness!!! Well, that's me done for the day!! Thanks for stopping by!

Forever: Birthday Wishes

ANOTHER Banned Post! WHY? It follows all the rules. It's a Birthday card Post!!  I've taken out any links to other crafters and freebies.

Phew! What a day I'm convinced there should be another one between Wednesday and Thursday, or even Thursday and Friday, just so you can catch up with the things you didn't do the day before! John's had no day off for sixteen days, so he's well pooped and is quite happy not to have an extra day midweek! This is a very quick card, which should've been in the post two days ago. (Ummm I forgot, sorry!!) so hence the photo being a bit yellowy as I took it about two minutes ago in my (very messy) craft room. It's a Forever Friends stamped image, coloured with Promarkers. Woodware punch for the Flower, leaves and envelope. There's about 1/4 of an inch taken off the front of the card just so you can see the pattern on the inside. I've wrapped the front papers (Pinkpetticoat) round to the back and lined all the edges with a gold and white peel-off. The card itself is pearlised so I was going to show some of it off but, well, I changed my mind. The font is called CK_Alis_Hand Official or CK Media Official Font and is available as a freebie down load. Google the name and you should find it. I rather like it, it looks sort or' hand written' but tidy. The font I used to type my 'Spyder' on the inside of the card, is also a freebie and is called Parry Hotter (seeing I'm a Harry Potter fan!) and it's a take on the Harry Potter Film Title font and can also be downloaded. Google Parry Hotter font and you should fine it.
One more thing or three more things before I go,three more followers!! A big (((wave)) and welcome to Spyder's Corner, Kim. I'm sure you all have visited Kim's lovely blog and seen all her amazing cards  on Cards by Kim they're all brilliant! Drum Roll Please!! Welcome to my 100th follower!!!Dragon Lady! Pop over to Crafty Dragons to see some lovely cards. I love that cute pussy-cat card!! Welcome too to Angie! A really Crafty Blogger. Pop over and see Angie's lovely makes at Handmade By Lilac Anglia. That's all for now crafters! Thanks for popping by, see you tomorrow!

Forever Friends Card with ATC

I'm behind again!! There never seems to be enough time!! What I wouldn't give for a Time Turner! Shame 'The Ministry of Magic' destroyed them all! But just think, if you could turn back time...you could eat a bar of chocolate and then go back an hour and eat it again!
I did this card last week just in time for a forum buddies birthday. Forever Friends papers over a pearlised card, a bit of Stickles Glitter and some peel- offs ...I hope it got there on time.
Looking at it now I think I should've coloured the bear's birthday pressie in pink instead of yellow, but I've only got a pink in a Whispers Pen and I like using my Promakers! Still, it gave me a chance to play with my new punches again. The Photo Corner Punch (it cuts a pretty edge and embosses) which is holding the topper/ ATC, in place, and my little envelope punch. That also cuts and embosses. The font? Yes, it's a freebie. What's it called? Angelina and you can down  here!
My card for tomorrow, in my view, is a lot better, not that it's been ill. I must admit I'm not keen on leaving 'bear' bits of card and using peel-offs but anyway, tomorrow's card is definitely better, 'specially if you love cows and Penny Black. See you then!

Two More Cards

I've used the Forever Friends stamp again. (I really must get some more stamps!) Someone should think of a 'Stamp Library' where we mad stampers can go and look at stamps, talk about stamps and then chose a stamp or stamps and then 'borrow' them (like a book) for a week or too. They would make money, especially from me, because I never return my library books on time. (Lost somewhere in my craft room under piles of stuff!) Anyway...where was I? Ah! yes, the cards I made today. The top one also doubles up as an ATC.
(Hero's is on now...so I'll catch you tomorrow!)

Good Night or should I say...Good Morning

It's a bit late but I just wanted to add this card, using The Forever Friends stamp and papers. The 'Happy Birthday' font is from my laptop and when I remember what the font is I'll let you know, as it was a freebie, and we all like freebies...
The topper on the front of the card is also an ATC. (Or was, but it looks as if I've stuck this one down! I've not made many ATC's yet but have been busy making a few for Forum Swaps. This card went off to a forum buddy. I hope she liked it.
Some people say, but most people don't.
Thanks for stopping by...
