A Cheesy Mouse!

I love this image, first time I've used it! And as I hadn't entered anything in The House Mouse and Friends Challenge for months I was hoping this will fit! Also I'd had an email reminding me about another challenge I hadn't joined in with for ages over at Card Making World (This month it's a sketch) AND! I wanted to remind you about Quirky Crafts Masculine with blue and brown challenge, which started last Sunday. So I'm hoping this little card will do all that, plus a bit more! (Forever Friends has a spring animal challenge, I think!)
I did want to add more things. Flowers, glitter...I'd already added a die cut corner and made the panel with a lacy edge, but seeing I was supposed to be following a sketch, I was very good and stopped! (I did have some flowers ready to go in the other corner though!) Of course I did make one big mistake... I stuck the whole lot on the card the wrong way round... so ended up having to peel off the image and turn the 'sketch' upside down... aw well, no one'll notice!!
I first heat embossed the stamped image. (Jet Black StazOn Ink with clear embossing Power) Forever Friends 'Just For Him' Papers 6x6 paper pack. House Mouse Image: Birthdays Balloon (the other image in the set has the balloons!) Nestabilities Scallop Circle die cut. Woodware and Crafts Too scalloped oval punches and a Martha Stewart Border Punch. The ribbon is from DoCrafts. I've also used TimLink Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Promarkers.
I printed the sentiment in brown. The font is a freebie. It's called Ackident and you can download that HERE I've added the sketch, the right way up!
New Follower! Sandy (a WOYWW fan) and her lovely blog Lonely Cards Pop over and see some of her fabby cards! That's all folks! Better go and draw tomorrows Freebie!! Bye for now.

Emma and Tom's Christmas Card.

I made this Christmas easel card for Tom and Emma a little while ago, finished it about five minutes before I gave it to them...so still a bit sticky with the glitter! I've had it in draft and forgot all about it, aw, poor little card! Anyway, all the challenges I had lined up for it are most likely over by now, which is a shame, I do love House Mouse! Not sure what this image is called as it was a swap from quite a while back. Love those mices! They're just like me and hubby when we decorate our tree, John on his back tossing his balls in the air... and me... umm...yes ...right... on wards!! (I blame the pills I'm on, they make my head very fuzzy! But at least I'm not sneezing so much!)
The card. I used papers I bought half prize in last years sales, Pepper's Christmas Party. Lovely 150gsm papers, some are already glittered. I matted them onto red glitter card and miri card, which I've also had for a trillion years!
The ribbon, I bought from a local haberdashery shop last week, for about 35p a metre. The two 'Designer Epoxy Brads' where also bought in last years Dec/Jan Christmas sales at half price. They're from the Cosy Christmas Collection by Forever Friends, so instead of £2.99 they were £1.50 (for 26)
I've used my new Memory Box snowflake die cut again, coz I love it! and MUST have the corner die cut by them too...but in this case I've used a corner die cut by Provo Craft, which I've had for years. I've coloured the little mice with Promarkers...and added loads of Stickles glitter glue (not that you can see that here)
The Font is a freebie. It's called Medusa, Oops! No! That's not Medusa! Sorry! The one I've used here is called Kingthings Willowless, there's lots of 'Kingthings' fonts, (I'll have a hunt for them...all a bit different. There's another couple called Kingthings Christmas and Kings Christmas2

All Warm and Mousey

This card has taken me all week to get started. Honestly, I really wanted to have finished all my Christmas cards by now, not starting them! (Admittedly it took me all the week before to get the stamps fixed onto the Kling-On!)
I've used the House Mouse Image, with the little mices keeping warm around a candle. Coloured with ProMarkers with a little added glitter gel pen and Stickles glitter glue. The papers I used were from a free pack from Card Marking and Paper Craft Magazine a little while back, called Snowed In, by My Minds Eye. I've also used my TM Elegant Flourishes. The little sentiment came from Stamping Up, two Christmas's ago! (I'm on a mission to use up ''stuff' I've had for ages and not used! )
At first I didn't have any snowflake flowers on the card at all and now I've put them on, I'm thinking the fern leaves should've been green, to add a bit more colour...but it's never not too late to change!
New Followers! Yay!! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Sandra How, Sandy, Marimer, Susanne and Gail! I'll add your links later...just realised my clock's stopped and I should be somewhere else!! Thanks for stopping by!

Nice Iced Mice!

I know, I'm a rubbish blogger. My goodness what have I been doing? And where have the days gone? (Abducted by Aliens again I guess! I can never remember anything when that happens!) It didn't help that I thought yesterday was Sunday and today is Monday. Is it Monday!? (Lyn checks calendar on computer and then her phone...) It's Sunday! Happy Sunday! (of course, if you are reading this on Monday, happy Monday too!!)
At last I managed to get a little House Mouse card done, luckily no one is waiting for it.
Now, talking about Nice Iced Mice... I'm sure I've told you this before, but my Nan (a long time ago) told me that (look away if you're squeamish) they used to boil mice up in sugar water, until they were all nice and sugary, and you could hold their tails (like sticks) and crunch on them like a candy bar. (bones and all!) and this is where they got the idea for the sweet sugar mice you can buy these days...
Was she telling fibs? Did I just dream that up? I don't know, anyway! I'm hoping there's another week to go on the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, and that it's still fruit! And that I'm not too late for Simon Says Stamp challenge, who wants to see food and drink!
Here's my little effort.. I've made another easel card, so it would fit into the I Love ProMarkers Challenge, using this cute little mouse, cooling down in a iced lemon drink. I always seem to pick green when I use a House Mouse image. Must try and use...pink next time! (Something tells me that'll never happen...but never say never!)
As you can see, I couldn't make up my mind on what colour backdrop to have for the picture, black (which is a hat box) or the cream (which is a pillow case)
Coloured with Promarkers of course, I've added Papermania self adhesive stones, to the flowers and card, whereas the white daisy chain ribbon, from stash, I added Anita's tiny gems fixed on with dots of PVA glue. (Not easy!) The wire beaded swirl was part of another topper I've had for years, I just pulled it apart and fixed it behind the bow.
The freebie Papers I used are all by Pink Petticoat 'When life hands you lemons..' And you can download them HERE (link also on side bar) or HERE
My printer has just run out of black ink, so the little black dots in the flowers don't show up, but I quite like it like that, and... maybe it's just my new(ish) printer or the lack of black ink but the pistachio green is 'limey-er' too, and matches very well with my lime green ribbon! I also added Stickles Glitter, but you can only see it on the very last little picture here. I added it to the ends of the ribbon as they'd started to fray, and my hand slipped, and suddenly there was glitter round the edges and on the flowers and down the side of the glass!
The Font is a freebie, it's called Adorable and you can download it HERE or here or just Google the name.
That's it I think. I have found a couple more challenges, so I hope my little mouse fits in okay!
New Followers Hi and a big {{wave}}} to Tamara Paddock (no link) and ...some one else...not out the back, but somewhere in the middle (blogger does that sometimes and muddles me up!) so I'm not sure who! Sorry if I missed you! Oh, hang on, it might be Mina at Pinkpuds?! I'm sure I would've remembered that name and seeing those fabulous cards! Pop over and say hi!
Thank you for stopping by!

A Mice Birthday!

I've made another birthday easel card for Les (step dad in-law) I made one for him last week but decided...well, Hubby decided, it wasn't very 'Leslie-ish,' what with the snoozing hedgehog, hammock and banners... so I've made a snoozing mouse card instead! (Everyone knows mices are more manly than prickly ol' hedgehogs, because us women just stand on chairs and scream when we see one, but give hedgehogs cat food and beer coz they're cute...maybe not the beer, visions of sloshed hedgies have suddenly come into my mind!)
The colours on this card are a bit more 'manly' too, (greenish and washed out gingham red) rather than twee, red and blue. But what do you make for a guy, and one who's been around for 80 years? Something a bit more grungy or steam-punkish, with clocks and keys and loads of oily looking ink? Yeah...something gadgety, but I haven't anything remotely like that and let's face it, guys don't do cards, do they... unless of course they're called Tim or Paul or Dustin, or Neil or Ollie or Steve or Eric or ...ummm thingy from DoCrafts... anyway!! (It'll come to me in a minute!) ah, Phill...that's the one.
I'm hoping this card will fit into the House Mouse challenge and one or two others.
I've added Buttons, two from John's Aunty Brenda's button box, with added beads ... bows ~a bit of ribbon and a tiny....oh!!! where's my bow gone!!! (In the garden, where I took the flippin' picture I bet!!!....will add that again later...) and bling... umm...well, I've added quite a lot of layers!
(**Back from the garden, it took me ages to find that bow! Half way between the dahlias and the dandelions!! No, I'm not changing all the darn pictures...just the bottom few and between you, me and the gate post, I might take it off again! I mean!?! Are bows manly?!? Yep! Bows go with arrows! anyway...I bet no one notices!)
Papers are Picnic in The Park, from a freebie pack that came with Simply Cards Magazine months ago. First time I've used them, they were still in their packet! (I forget I had them!) **Update! I have used them once before a few months ago here. I might send a pic to Simply Cards too! I've also done some faux stitching with a white gel pen. I've also inked around all the edges with green ink. (£1.50 for two inks, green and blue, and three tiny bug stamps from Tesco's, for the kiddies of course, darn the kiddies, why can't grown-ups have them!)
The stamped House Mouse image was coloured with Promakers, (the one I mentioned losing earlier, I found it! inside a book!! Now, how did it get there?!? and what was the chances of me finding it this side of Christmas!?)
No 3D-ing this time as this image came from Sue and I've only got one left!! and...
The sentiment was done on the computer. The 80 was done in WordArt so I could have it coloured in a shaded green with a black outline.
The font is a freebie, it's called JI Skookumchuck (oh yes it is!) and you can download it HERE
I've used my Martha Stewart cobweb punch (more manly than the lacy one!) I've wired some green glass beads to the buttons, (I usually use a needle and cotton to do this but this time used wire because the beads were too small to threadle onto the needle and wire is sooo much more manly than cotton!) I've added quite a few little brads in green and orange, plus little green gems and tiny waste dots from some really old gold peel-offs... (never throw anything away!) and that's it I guess!!
It all lies flat of course to fit into the normal sized envelope. Ohoo I'm suddenly talking (inside my head) with a Welsh accent, that'll teach me to watch too much Torchwood!! That's it for now, thanks for stopping by!! Catch you again very soon! **Update!! Have won some House Mouse Stamps!!!

Relax! It's Only A Mouse!

Aw, look at this little House Mouse relaxing on a sunflower in the sun. (Sun; bright yellow thing that shines in the sky, often seen in summer, never seen at night.) Thank you to Sue for the image (I won some of the House Mouse blog hop candy a little while back!) Just a quick card, as I've been a bit busy and haven't made any cards, which I can blog about, for ages...
I've cut a 5½ x5½ square card down a snip as I only had a tiny bit of this green 'grass' backing paper, from Craft Creations. Green and cream seem to be my favourite combination whenever I've used these House Mouses!
I've use Promakers to colour the image as well as the flowers and some of the leaves. The font is a freebie, it's called Pea Anna-Banana and you can download it HERE. Look out for all their other fabulous fonts while you're there. Thanks for stopping by!

There's A Mouse in The House.

Well, there could be! (a mouse in the house) but I don't think so, not unless you count these cutie lickle mices! Brenda from over the pond, butlersabroad.wordpress dot com, and me, (or should that be I?) did a bit of a stamped image swap, this fabulous House Mouse image was one of my swaps. I'm just going to have to get me some of these now!
I've used Forever Friend (double sided) papers, left over from one of their Christmas sets. (See, they don't have to be used for Christmas!) The flowers were actually stamped out, yes, I got that mad, I stamped on it with my foot! using an Xcut punch, that just will not cut anything!! but, on saying that, full marks go to the XCut punch that did the border scallops. I do like that one! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the fern leaves, then loads of micro glitter thrown wherever it would stick. Gems and daisy trail ribbon from stash. The image was coloured with Promakers. The sentiment was done on the computer. The font is called Saginaw and you can download it for free HERE or just Google the name, there's loads of sites that do it.
I've used a black background to photo my card on this time, what d'you think? Can you guess what I've used?? It's a rather posh black hat box, (I think) which my card just sits in nicely! I hasten to add, neither the posh hat box, nor the posh hat, was mine! People are always giving me empty boxes and sometimes they are very useful!

There's also a blog hop going on, involving House Mouse, which I thought ohooo I must join in and do a House Mouse card, (which is why I did this one) but, me of small brain forgot where, but luckily I was reminded tonight via email, (Thank you Sue, please go and see your fab blog!!) so, card finished, I'm off to blog hop...hope I'm not too late!

Happy Birthday Emma-Marie

No, I'm not telling you how old my eldest daughter is, but it's her birthday today! (It doesn't seem that long ago she was doing this!! ) I made this little House Mouse card for her (thank you Sue for the stamped image) and thought I might enter it in their challenge this week, over on The House mouse and friends challenge blog. This week you have to have some embossing on your card.

Wild Orchid are having a challenge where you must use a sentiment andStamp Something's challenge is cute. Well, this lickle micey is definitely cute!! I've used my new deckle edged nesties, so there's a bit of embossing there and I've used a cuttlebug folder so there's a bit more over there.
In my hurry to get it finished and posted off in time I not only made the card the wrong way round... but actually the wrong way up! Upside down and opening from the top downwards! Luckily I managed to pull it apart before the silicone glue set. That's why those little heart buttons are in the middle and not on the end, where they're supposed to be! (shhh! No one will notice!) The papers I've used are from a Papermania A5 packBlueberry Hill. I've coloured with Promarkers. was a bit disappointed with my new Pastel Blue Promarker, as it was a lot darker than my old one and shows up far more than I would like, usually it almost disappears into the background. I think it looks almost grey here. Never mind. The font is a freebie (of course) I have used it before, but if you missed it, it's called A Red Bucket  there's a link on my sidebar or just Google the name. Thank you for stopping by! Nearly forgot. Happy Burns Night. I think we're having roasted haggis!! (ps, if you really want to know how old Emma is, you'll have to look on last January's post!!)
