Just a Little Horse, (coff coff)

I've been playing today. Always wanted to do something else with my cartoons. (Beside throw them in the nearest bin!) It's not as though they're gathering dust, well, they probably are! but the ones on my computer keep waving at me. 'Colour us!! Please!!'
When I used to do them, (years ago) I would usually scribble something, a silly joke, head and shoulder people, and from that one cartoon at least another five would emerge, which is how I guess, daily cartoonists keep up with deadlines. When I was 'stuck' I'd always start with my 'two cowboys and their horse' They've never be seen but the silly one liners they could come up with, always led to the cartoon that would be sold.
I put this cartoon into Paint this morning, scrubbed out the original words and typed in the words you can see. The freebie Font is called Jayne Print and can be down loaded Here. The green gingham is also a freebie, link on my side bar. (or you can nip over to The Craft Table, they have some freebie ginghams too!) I've used a deckle edge DL card, which I don't do very often. This had two or three 'gags' mostly aimed at the poor person being eaten! If I remember rightly...the actually punch line that went off with this cartoon was....

"You'll eat just about anything, won't you!!"

Not So Ugly!

Sorry no blogging yesterday, as I've been a bit busy getting ready for our trip out 'across the pond' to see our grandson next week, (still no sign, but he is due any minute!) and have loads to do before we go.

Seeing Halloween is just a few weeks away I thought I'd add one of my (very old!) cartoons to today's post! (No it's not a self portrait!) I also have an 'Ugly Card' coming up. What's an ugly card I can hear you say. Well it's not really ugly, in fact it's a really nice card, that's trying to make it's way around the World with the help of you bloggers!! I'll post about it some time today, meanwhile, give it some thought. Would you like to have the ugly card to pass on? If the answer is yes please! Email me, (see my complete profile) You can be here in England, or ANYWHERE in the World. If I get a few people interested I will make my own ugly card (and that will be ugly!!) for people to send around the world too! Or of course if no one answers...I have a few people in mind I might volunteer!!

A Bit More Basil

I thought I'd do something a little bit different this Saturday afternoon, seeing my camera's still sick and I can't take any pictures of new cards. (Don't worry! This weeks Quirky challenge card will be here tomorrow... sneak peek at midnight tonight!... (Oho I can tell you're excited!)

I've been rooting (or is that routing?) through my files and old documents and I came across some of my 'old' cartoons and thought, I'll put one on, I mean load one up...I'd look really silly wearing it... This one, would be so much better in colour, but Newspapers didn't do colour cartoons back then...Actually, I'm now itching to colour it!! Not sure which paper it was in but I do remember being told that it wasn't Politically Correct... This one on the right was published round about the same time and was a take on a well known Motoring TV Advertisement...
