Bug Has a New Bubble!

It's Tuesday, which means, I can change my socks.. nah only kidding, I did that yesterday! It means it's new release day over in the Bugaboo digi Store, and look who came to play in my craft room! Isn't he just too darn cute!?! Wouldn't he make a great birthday or invitation to a party card!?
This is Bubble's Birthday Present all ready for a party! Pop over and see him and some of his friends and some more cards made by the bug team over on Catch the Bug .
My Card: I printed out Bubble a couple of times. Coloured with Promakers. Cut out one image with a scalloped Nestibilitie, cut the other one out, snipping off the bow, the top of the hat and those fiddly bits and stuck it over the top using gel glue.
Then, with the same five colours I used on the digi I striped a piece of A4 heavy paper and used that as backing, inside and out, after I first edged the pearl card with a Turquoise ProMaker.
I've added felt flowers. I fixed the sequins in the centres using gel glue.
There's some some plastic swirly bits that came as part of a party set of backless buttons, tiny green heart gems, fixed on with a quickie glue pen, a ribbon and a lace boarder using a Martha Stewart punch, (inked a little bit) The sentiment was done on the computer. The Font is a freebie its called Ackident download it there or Google the name.

Send A Smile 4 Kids

I won a top three place and a chance to be a Guest Designer for a challenge over on Send A Smile 4 Kids a few months ago and this is the card I sent them for their new challenge starting sometime today. Their sponsors for this Challenge are Robyn's Fetish and Saturated Canary. And the theme?
Anything Goes 4 Kids!
My Card. I've made a birthday card for a girlie girl! I folded some pearl lilac card in half, trimmed it to make a square, then printed out some freebie patchwork papers from Bearly Mine I liked them so much I bought the set.
I then found another freebie over on Saturated Canary. These lovely digis are not there for long, so grab them while you can! This one is called Jules, (she's no longer a freebie as I started making the card some time ago) you can now find her in the Saturated Canary's Store Here. You'll find some more similar freebies HERE leave some love, use the digi's and have fun!
I coloured with Promarkers, added tiny gems, eyelash wool, a tiny bow, a heart charm and a paper lace border cut out using my Martha Stewart Lace punch.
The Font is a freebie it's called Abbeyline, download HERE or just Google the name.
New Follower! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Audrey aka Hippieaud! Pop over and say hi! That's it for now, thank you for stopping by!

It's Still Christmas In July!!

Well, it's certainly beginning to feel like it could be Christmas in July! The weather here in the UK is dark, dull, dismal, cloudy, cold and rain rain rain!! At least it's not snow snow snow!!
Here's my second DT card for my challenge 'Christmas In July,' which started yesterday over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog. Another image by Stitchy Bear Stamps our sponsor this fortnight. I've used 'Bah Humbug!' A Christmas card I could quite easily give to hubby John, because that's what he always says about Christmas! (Even when he's munching away on his mince pie and swigging down some festive spirit, wearing his new socks and a Santa hat, with musical lights!)
Coloured with ProMarkers. All the black you see, is just white pearl card coloured with a black Promarker. A good tip if you've run out of the coloured card you need~ use a Promarker instead, only on the bits you can see of course! (Pearl card works best)
The Poinsettias flowers I've had for ages, free from a crafty mag's exclusive design 'instant dimensional effect stickers' by Anita's. (Here's a LINK Leads to similar...Mine had Christmas trees too) Although they weren't very sticky so I've fixed them on using 3D foam pads.
The gell 'Ho Ho Ho' speech bubbles came off one sheet of about 15 Christmasy bits and pieces I've also had for 'years.'
I've also used a memory-box die-cut but cut it up to make use of the swirly bits around the flowers. Added a few red gems fixed on with a Quickie glue pen. All the Christmas papers I've used are by Pink Petticoat.
The Font is a freebie. It's called KG Strawberry Limeade and you can download it here or just Google the name. I think it's a fun font for jokey cards.
I've also used a Martha Stewart lace punch. Added some silvery grey eyelash wool and a snowflake ribbon. Santa has some micro fine glitter on his fluffy bits. And That's it!! I'm hoping to add this card into a number of Christmas In July....

Just A Mo....

Aw, my mojo's been missing these last few days... weeks, months!! So what better than using up some of Mo's digi's I coloured some time back. WOYWW visitors would have spotted this little darling stuck to my wall above my usual crafty-mess. Time to use it I think!
First I printed him out twice, coloured him with Promarkers and then 3D-ed him, fixed the whole thing to the card using silicone glue, after first cutting it out using 'Large Deckled Rectangles' Nestabilities.
Once I found the right paper's, (Forever Friends 'Just For Him' for the garden theme and Cosy Christmas' for the red dots) the whole card came together quite easily! The Swirl is by Memory Box and so that I could fix it over the edge, I've sliced some of the front off the card and replaced it with acetate, hoping this also makes the card not square for a challenge I've found over on Cardmadfairy's Digi Days. The white plastic sticky stuff behind the image is really used for sticking onto loose carpets, rugs, mats, to stop them from slipping, that didn't work... so, rather than throw it away, it now has a place in my craft room! I've used it here thinking it might look like a garden trellis. I've also used it on this card to look like kitchen tiles. The The font used is called Flower Child.  The little Ladybird/Ladybug was fixed to a tiny peg, so I prised it off and used a Quickie Glue pen to fix it to the card. I finished off with some red spotty ribbon, three tiny green gems and a bee charm, because one of the challenges I quite liked was 'Busy Bugs'. Inside I used a Martha Stewart Floral Lace border punch. I was hoping this 'paper lace' might do for Mo's latest challenge too.. but as everyone seems to be using lots of 'prober lace' and little girl images...maybe not, 'real' lace just didn't go with the wellie boots!

It's Quirky Snowing...

Hello!! This is my second DT card this Sunday for the challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog. (I know...I nearly fainted too!) It's was my turn to set the theme and decided it should be something very easy. Snow!
I used one of our sponsors digi's Little Tree by Limited Runs. Coloured with Promakers (of course)
Backing Papers. I've used 'Cosy Collection Papers', which came free from Quick Cards made Easy Magazine issue 93. (worth clicking the link, you won't find these papers but you will find links to other freebie papers. You may have to 'sign in') I've layered the papers onto matt silver card. I used Nestabilities Scalloped Circles and a Martha Steward border punch, plus some red reindeer ribbon from DoCrafts and grey/silver eyelash wool from my stash. I've also used Liquid Appliqué on the tree...I love the way that stuff bubbles up when you heat it. The Large snowflake I bought on line years ago...I think I had a bag of 50 of them! (49 to go!) I added some micro glitter to it and there's also some micro glitter on the little girls clothing. Her buttons have a 'smidging' of red Stickles glitter.
The sentiment was made on my laptop so therefore The font is a freebie. I'm sure I've linked it before, it's called Cute Pop, which you can down load HERE or Google the name.
I've had Emma and Tom (daughter and S-I-L) here today... making their Christmas Cards, so it's been quite a crafty afternoon! Wish I'd taken some pictures!

Nice Iced Mice!

I know, I'm a rubbish blogger. My goodness what have I been doing? And where have the days gone? (Abducted by Aliens again I guess! I can never remember anything when that happens!) It didn't help that I thought yesterday was Sunday and today is Monday. Is it Monday!? (Lyn checks calendar on computer and then her phone...) It's Sunday! Happy Sunday! (of course, if you are reading this on Monday, happy Monday too!!)
At last I managed to get a little House Mouse card done, luckily no one is waiting for it.
Now, talking about Nice Iced Mice... I'm sure I've told you this before, but my Nan (a long time ago) told me that (look away if you're squeamish) they used to boil mice up in sugar water, until they were all nice and sugary, and you could hold their tails (like sticks) and crunch on them like a candy bar. (bones and all!) and this is where they got the idea for the sweet sugar mice you can buy these days...
Was she telling fibs? Did I just dream that up? I don't know, anyway! I'm hoping there's another week to go on the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, and that it's still fruit! And that I'm not too late for Simon Says Stamp challenge, who wants to see food and drink!
Here's my little effort.. I've made another easel card, so it would fit into the I Love ProMarkers Challenge, using this cute little mouse, cooling down in a iced lemon drink. I always seem to pick green when I use a House Mouse image. Must try and use...pink next time! (Something tells me that'll never happen...but never say never!)
As you can see, I couldn't make up my mind on what colour backdrop to have for the picture, black (which is a hat box) or the cream (which is a pillow case)
Coloured with Promarkers of course, I've added Papermania self adhesive stones, to the flowers and card, whereas the white daisy chain ribbon, from stash, I added Anita's tiny gems fixed on with dots of PVA glue. (Not easy!) The wire beaded swirl was part of another topper I've had for years, I just pulled it apart and fixed it behind the bow.
The freebie Papers I used are all by Pink Petticoat 'When life hands you lemons..' And you can download them HERE (link also on side bar) or HERE
My printer has just run out of black ink, so the little black dots in the flowers don't show up, but I quite like it like that, and... maybe it's just my new(ish) printer or the lack of black ink but the pistachio green is 'limey-er' too, and matches very well with my lime green ribbon! I also added Stickles Glitter, but you can only see it on the very last little picture here. I added it to the ends of the ribbon as they'd started to fray, and my hand slipped, and suddenly there was glitter round the edges and on the flowers and down the side of the glass!
The Font is a freebie, it's called Adorable and you can download it HERE or here or just Google the name.
That's it I think. I have found a couple more challenges, so I hope my little mouse fits in okay!
New Followers Hi and a big {{wave}}} to Tamara Paddock (no link) and ...some one else...not out the back, but somewhere in the middle (blogger does that sometimes and muddles me up!) so I'm not sure who! Sorry if I missed you! Oh, hang on, it might be Mina at Pinkpuds?! I'm sure I would've remembered that name and seeing those fabulous cards! Pop over and say hi!

Happy Birthday Mum-in-Law

It's John's mum's birthday today. Happy Birthday June! She's eee.... nah I won't tell! She wasn't feeling too well, so I hope my little card cheered her up. (Along with the Chocies, flowers and anti-wrinkle cream!) I've had this cute Pepper and Friends image sitting on my shelves for ages now. I coloured it using my Promarkers of course! I was going to use brown and cream papers, but I think my favourite PinkPetticoat, pink and blue Vintage Rose papers go quite well, althought the photo doesn't do them justice. I've used my Nesties, Woodware and two Martha Stewart punches. This card would fit into my Challenge over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge blog, as I've embossed the image, (dry and heat) used a stamped image, a ribbon, five flowers, pink and blue colouring, three backing papers (at least!) and there's paper lace too. There's nine recipe boxes to choose from so come and join in! The font on the outside, is called Amazone BT and you can download it HERE The inside font is also a freebie, it's called akaFrivolity and you can download that here. Forever Friends...Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day every one! (this side of the pond) This is the first time ever that I have made two cards for the Mother's that are totally different. So now I'm wondering, which one is for which Mum! Anyway, which ever Mum gets which ever card I'm sure they'll love the chocies that go with them! Yes, last weeks Mother's Day Easel card/ box is now filled with chocolates rather than the brownies that Hubby made last weekend. There was no way they were going to last all week!! Course, they would've gone stale, wouldn't they? I mean, I couldn't let that happen!
This card has been covered with Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose Papers (so at least that's the same!) Stickles Glitter, ribbon, (The same but darker pink than the other card) gems, die cut corners and a Forever Friends Decoupaged Bear. I'm sure I've used this one before, but that's the beauty of making your own cards, they can never look exactly the same, no matter what! (well, not when I make them they don't!)
The sentiment I did on the computer, cut out with Woodware and **Crafts-too punches. The Font is a freebie, it's called Amazone BT and you can download it HERE
The inside of the card (pink) also has some Forever Friend stickers of the same bear holding his flowers.
This Card will probably go to John's Mum, as she has said, no flowers!! So, it's a way of giving them without her having to worry where to put them, apart from on her mantelpiece! Thank you for stopping by!

Another 'I'm Late!' Quirky Card!

Oh My Goodiness! It'll soon be time for a 500 followers freebie!! (Blogger keeps changing his mind tho, he's not very good at counting) In the meantime, I forgot all about showing you that other DT card I did for lQuirky Crafts last week! Here it is. We're doing Alice In Wonderland and there's still a whole week left to join in. Anything connected to The story would be fabulous! I've used this cute birthday bunny (white Rabbit, un-birthday cake) from our sponsorsThe Stamping Boutique
I've done a bit of 3D-ing, used my nesties to cut out the first bunny with it's background and fixed another bunny over the top. So that's two bunnies, and if you blink there'll probably be another two! (bunnies are like that!) I've coloured him with ProMarkers.
Freebies! The backing paper's I've used are called 'Time For Tea' They were free with Quick Cards Made Easy last year (years back) but you can download them from CardMaking & PaperCraft download page, now called Gather. There's teapots and cake, just right for A Very Merry UnBirthday.
I printed these out on 160gsm white paper, with my printer running out of ink, and they still turned out really nice I think! The flower was printed on thinner paper and crunched up. I did the sentiment on the computer. (You can never have too much cake!) The font is a freebie too. (The ink just about gave out!) I'm sure I've already linked it. It's called Pea Faye. I'm sure you'll find it if you google the name. You'll love it, as the brackets make these funny little bee's and the $ sign is a happy face and I think the + is a heart. (Click the pictures to make them bigger) New Followers! Hi and a (((big wave)))) to Diane Rivers and Ikesart, no links but here's Ikes World Lovely cards, pop over and say hi! Relax! It's Only A Mouse!

Aw, look at this little House Mouse relaxing on a sunflower in the sun. (Sun; bright yellow thing that shines in the sky, often seen in summer, never seen at night.) Thank you to Sue for the image (I won some of the House Mouse blog hop candy a little while back!) Just a quick card, as I've been a bit busy and haven't made any cards, which I can blog about, for ages...
I've cut a 5½ x5½ square card down a snip as I only had a tiny bit of this green 'grass' backing paper, from Craft Creations. Green and cream seem to be my favourite combination whenever I've used these House Mouses!
I've use Promakers to colour the image as well as the flowers and some of the leaves. The font is a freebie, it's called Pea Anna-Banana and you can download it HERE. Look out for all their other fabulous fonts while you're there. Thanks for stopping by!

Box Shaker Card. (Made with Freebie Papers)

I made this Shaker Valentine's card for a sketch challenge over on Card Making and Paper Craft, (front of house rather than on the main forum) I've used only papers that you can down load for free from the same place.. (or come with this month's magazine!) I've squashed in five flowers instead of four, which only proves I can't count! So I hope that won't matter! Also, look out for Bev's card on the Front Cover of the Magazine!!! (and crafty bits inside) How cool is that!!
I've made more of a box shaker this time, only because I used some thicker 3D foam pads. I've added an extra strip of paper around the box so's to hide them.
The little Forever Friends bear (is part of a set) has been coloured with Promakers, although the heart was paper pieced so the colour matched with the card. (My only red Promaker didn't match at all!) If you're very quick there's still time to join in! I have tried to enter but unfortunately all you can see is four empty spaces...!! (doesn't that make you mad when you can't delete something that's gone wrong!?!) Anyway. This is the card! Go hunt out those freebie papers, 'From The Heart.'
There's a few valentine Challenges I've found while blog hopping. I hope I'm not too late to enter and will add them as soon as I've double checked!
New Followers ((Big Wave!!)) Daverod46962 a new blogger! Please pop over and say hi, Dave would love a visit! Thank you for your email and comment Dave, so I could find your link and blog! Then there's Mikila with no link (yet) and Irene S has lovely things to have a snoop at!
Oops, forgot to add and link my Challenges!! Hope I'm not too late! For these challenges I've added a bit more sparkle to the card, die-cut corners and a tiny sentiment. The font is called Honey Bunches and you can download it free HERE Thank you for stopping by.

It's A New Quirky Challenge!

Quirky Craft's fortnightly challenges have started up again! This week we have some lovely Guest Designers showing you their fabulous makes. Claire Easson's pretty new baby card. Ali's (Aqualeiga's Escape) funky Happy New Year Card and Denise's Beautiful Day 2011 calendar! So please pop over and have a peek!
This New Challenge, first of the New Year, has been set by the lovely Caro
New Beginnings
You can take that in any way you want. Your project can be about something new, the New Year, (Of course) a new baby, a new home, a new job, new engagement, in fact anything NEW or a celebration of something new. (Maybe not the new socks you had for Christmas... but on second thoughts, that would fit in!) And as it's the first challenge of the New Year you can also use any of your new crafting stash, but be sure to tell us what the new items you've used are. (see I told you it was easy!)
Here's my DT card. I've gone for New Home. All the papers I've used are new and are by Forever Friends. I've cut them with my new pink maxi guillotine and my new deckled edged Nesties. I also won some clear stamps, some Promakers and a £10 voucher just before Christmas, so have used this cute kitty, Molly Cat with Bird House from The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs. (Thank you!!) I 3D-ed the kitty, bird house and bird and coloured them with the new Promakers! (I bought a few more Promakers with the voucher)
The sentiment was done on the computer. The font is a freebie, it's called MTF PlayTime, and it's from Miss TiinaFonts, (Link is always on side bar) So, all you have to do now is pop over to the...
and join in!! Thank you for stopping by!
