Butterfly Geli-print-paper, paint box cover

 

Evening Crafty People! Gosh, I've missed posting for ...days!! Well. I needed to 'tidy' up....(it didn't happen) Today I've been covering one of my boxes that I keep my acrylic paints in. I sometimes use tissue paper but today I used one of my kinda geli prints with added bits and stamped with butterflies. Usually they hold fruit, (that's the box, not the butterflies) this one had bird treats in it. I made one paper brownish-orange and the other a more yellowy in colour. (**I think I've added it here somewhere as an always freebie) **See next post. Then, because I knew there wouldn't be enough to cover the box,  I scanned them, printed them out and then covered the box. Simples.

In the picture, you can see there's 'bands' going cross and along, to help hold the tubes of paint in place. My other box in the background hasn't got them and the paints are always falling over.... Now, the bands? What do you think they are made from? You'll never guess... well, maybe you might... Tights! Yep. Tights... (or stockings if you'd rather) small bands cut at the toes and larger bands at the thigh/top! Last much longer than rubber bands. And they're kinder. I use them for almost everything! Right, I've had a look out the back...and we're right out of parrots..oops, wrong script... I mean... I couldn't find that I'd added these papers as freebies anywhere... so, in the next post. I will add them... they might come in handy for something! As you can see in the picture...my wheelbarrow awaits me! My garden bin needs filling up. So, that's it for now. #gelypostcardplay, Cerithecrafter- Number 31-The Last Card!

 

  It's the last day, the last one!! Ceri The Crafter's July Challenge #gelypostcardplay, Number 31 today! I'm late...I have two four legged friends staying with me....so I got way-laid! Haven't even had time to link up with WOYWW yet, but I will! Here's my last card...

And no one's more surprised that me, that I managed to do all 31 cards! It's a fish! It's nothing like I imagined my last card would be like... I had no idea what I was going to do...I had blue geli prints and orange ones... so I drew a fish on a dark orange and a lighter orange, cut them out, stuck them together and Hey presto!  I had a fish...

The mostly blue background had 'bubbles' on it, which looked like it could give the impression of being under the sea, and the rest was done using my Pasco pens, a few diecut  balloons, the number 31... a few times, stamped tiny fish and a fishy sign showing the fish where the fishy party is!

It's not the one I was hoping to finish with, but...it's growing on me! Thank you to everyone who's popped in to 'look'. No comments but quite a ton of 'looks' over the month! #gelypostcardplay Card Number 30. If only we could fly!

  Morning! Well it was, it's afternoon now...the day is flying by! Here's my 30th postcard for Ceri The Crafters #gelypostcardplay July Challenge. Last card tomorrow. Did you know, that August used to have 31 days too, because the god of August didn't like the fact that the god of July had one more day than him... of course, I could've dreamt all that! Here's my postcard!

I'm quite chuffed with the way it's turned out! I don't know what Jack Bernard Cull (or Bernard Jack) would think of me, giving him butterfly wings. Yes, that's a little boy wearing that lovely dress, related to hubby on his mother's side. We think he might be Lady Pam's Dad...

I wanted to use the golden dragonfly tissue paper, which was given to me wrapped round some flowers back in March, but leaving it as a white background didn't work and I didn't have enough pink brayered tissue left to cover a postcard, so! Out came the paints and the rollers, pushed back my breakfast and rolled out a transparent Pinkish red, (Oddly, there's no name on the tube) Now, this tissue is great, coz if you roll over the back of it, the gold shows on the gelliplate. (I'm new to all this, still learning!) and it will lift up on your next pull, (or whatever it's called)

I'd already stamped a dragonfly onto a very pale pinkish (kissed with paint) card, you can just see him through the tissue. The golden dragonflies are already on the tissue. I then fussy-cut out great great cousin Jack (twice removed, probably) and added half the butterfly wing. (all butterflies, the bird and the music bit at the top are from Katy Sue) I die-cutted the 'butterfly plant' and put it into a flowerpot, added the number 30, which I did on my laptop, and then fixed on all the little tiny butterflies. I love the way the golden dragonflies shine as the light catches the card! That's it! Card number 30 done!!! Yay! Thank you for stopping by!

Ceri theCrafter's-GelyPostcardPlay Card Number 29

 

 Morning All You Crafty People! Another day, another card! Here's my card number 29 for cerithecrafter's July Challenge #gelypostcardplay,.I feel I've cheated a bit on this one. Was up about five minutes before I went to bed to do some more Geliprinting, I wanted a lighter back ground to use with a velum lady I know I have...somewhere! (This is not a lady Lyn) I know...but it is velum. And I liked the sentiment. 

It was a bit shorter than the card, so added at the bottom is some  'World' tissus paper. I had a go at adding some meltalic circles, but they are quite hard to see. Then stuck the whole thing over my freshly dried geliprint background with Collall glue, after first fixing a darker geli print scrap under the sentiment  to make it show up more, edged all around it to make it look a bit ragged, or is the rugged? (who knows) 

 Found an aeroplane sticker, die-cut the numbers, and then fixed it all onto a black background. But it does feel like I've cheated a bit, because for once, it didn't take me all day!

 So, I feel I've caught up nicely! Definitely going to go to the Market today and have a snoop around the charity shops too. Might find another Bargain Of The Week! That's it! #Gelypostcardplay, Number 28. Under The Sea,

Evening Crafty People! I'm a bit late with my  #Gelypostcardplay, card No:28. In fact, the card is still wet, and bendy with the paint I've just flicked over it. I'm amazed that I'm still playing along with the challenge created by #CeriThe Creafter. Only three more cards to go! I was going to call this one 'Under The Sea,' but decided on just 'Wave'

This card started off as that blue swirly stencily piece of paper that I thought would be just right. Only, as I pulled it out of the pile, it had a circle cut out of it! (See circle below, card number 27!) There was enough of the blue left to one side to cover the hole, no one can tell...it's under the net and once it was fixed to a card, didn't show at all.

I then die-cut out a load of wavy 'grasses' for the sea weed, plus the anchor, the fish, the lobster and the little diver. The sandy beach at the bottom was made from Woodwares 'Fluffy Stuff' and heat set. Mine is really old, but it still worked okay. Then I covered that with those little beads you find in those tiny pockets of 'Oxygen Absorbers' you get in shoe boxes, or hand bags...mine came from a packet of dog treats! After that I went over it with a little yellow acrylic paint.

For a finishing touch, I splattered the whole thing with white acrylic paint, using an old tooth brush, then added the number 28 to the net a little screw-whiff. Job Done... Fingers are still covered in glue! The next job will be to fix a stronger piece of card on the back. That's it for today! Look out for tomorrows card! Thank you for stopping by!

#gelypostcardplay, Card Number 27-doing it with circles

 Morning Peoples! It's Saturday! The sun is shinning, hoping to pop out to the market today, then...do a bit of gardening, but it's never ending! As fast as I pull up the weeds, they grow back again twice as fast! And that brings me nicely to my Number 27 postcard for Ceri the Crafter's July challenge #gelypostcardplay, 'Never Ending Circles'. I wanted something quick as I didn't want to get behind over the weekend. So I just die-cut loads of circles out of some of the scraps left over from geliplate printing. 

 Some are tissue, some are on copy paper, some are on book pages and there's even a couple on wallpaper. I then inked round them with a black Posca pen. I haven't signed it, so instead added a tissue spider, with eight legs not my usual drawn one, which only has five! 

The only thing I wish I hadn't done was to use rectangles for the numbers, I shoulda used circles. Smaller circles. Never mind! I'm ahead of myself... almost, and that's what I wanted to achieve today! 

 All the circles are fixed onto to a geli rolled file card, but it was still a bit flimsy, so I added a black backing to it. That's it! My Number 27 postcard for  Cerithecrafters #gelypostcardplay challenge, is done!! Thank you for stopping by!

Evening Crafty People! I'm late, I'm late!~For a very important date! Yes, you've guessed it! Alice in Wonderland! Today's been so busy I feel like I really have fallen down a rabbit hole! I'm here again with postcard No: 25 of

#GelyPostcardPlay,Card Number 24-Snakes and ladders

 

 Hello crafty people. I'm a bit late again...went to the beach this afternoon instead of doing this card! So here it is, Card number 24 for Cerithecrafter's July challenge #GelyPostcardPlay, I got the idea, while going through some of the 'What's On Your Worktop Wednesday blogs.' first thing this morning, I spied a ICAD... I have no idea what the difference is, they look about the same size, my brain was away with the fairies, and I couldn't come up with anything else that I 'thought' I could do quick... so, Snakes and Ladders it is!

I started off with a dark blueish swirly/stencily patterny card, then cut up about a dozen little squares from lots of different geli-plate pulls, edged them in black, found my Sizzix 'little Sizzles' adhesive assorted colour strips, and die cut loads of numbers. The snake was a freebie download years ago, from Dustin Pike and the ladders were also a magazine 'Handyman' download from the retired PaperCraft Inspirations from about 2010! I keep everything!

 

I'm going to back this card onto a stronger card as it's a bit bendy...and still quite glue-y, then maybe go over it with some Decopatch. I'm really liking that better than Mod Podge, even though I still want to call that plodge modge.

#GelypostcardPlay number 16-It's All Gone Egyptian

 Good Morning all you Crafty Crazy people! Here's my number 16 postcard for #CeriTheCrafter's July Challenge! #GelypostcardPlay. Oh my giddy Aunt! I've had some fun with this one, seeing it's nothing like the beach scene, 'Surfs Up' that I had in my head and how it turned into this Egyptian postcard, I'll never know. The only thing they have in common, is sand!

This started off as a dirty browny-orangey pattern card that, once I realised I wasn't going to do a beach scene, was stamped several times with some Egyptian stamps. I think it's the fact that I was going through my boxes of stuff, which I'd starting haulding collecting, books and things for junk journaling and glue booking etc, when I came across a calligraphy book and another on how to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics, which I bought cheap as chips from a charity book shop some time ago. And that was it! Gone was the bluey seascape bit of geli-paint, swapped swiftly for the dirty looking brown and orange card, and even roughed up a bit more!

First of course, I had to find my Pharaoh stamp. For years, I had one stuck on my shelf all ready coloured with gel-pens-was he there today? No...gone walk-about! I found the stamp, and coloured him using my Promarkers. Cut out what you can see mosty from the calligraphy book...it even has The Book of The Dead! Didn't use that though! Wouldn't want someone trying to read it and bringing back Aunt Mauld!

I've typed all my sentences, using a Hyeroglyphics font called 'The Nile Song' (free to download, just google the name) if I remember rightly, I've typed, Dream, Believe, Memories, Timeless and Treasure, plus of course, the number 16. The little beetle and the number 16 were cut out of a wild flower book. I've also added some jute rope and a bee charm, smudged a bit of black and gold, here and there and added the Pharaoh and one of the 'pictures' on 3D foam.

Well, I think this one is my favourite one so far. Number 16 for #Ceri The Crafters #Gelypostcardplay! Maybe it'll be the beach one tomorrow! That's it from me! Thank you for stopping by!

#gelypostcardplay Number 15!

Morning Peoples! It's raining here today, soooo....more crafting is possible! (Can't cut hedges and mow grass in the rain...) It's monday the 15th so here is my next postcard N0:15 to join in with Ceri The Crafter's #gelipostcardplay July challenge! Scroll down to find my other postcards. I wanted another quickie, coz I thought I might go do the market today, but... markets aren't fun in the rain. So! definitely more crafting instead! Saves tiding up, just jump in where I left off! (Jump in or fall over it, you mean!)

  So I started off with a greeny- twirly with white and gold bits geliroll back ground thingie. Was looking through a magazine, and found the hare, and thought!!! Light bulb moment...(and I hadn't even had my breakfast!) 'There's a Hare in my soup!' But could I find a bowl of soup??? Could I heck! I did in the end, then stamped some unreadable words on the green post card, which smudged a bit. Luckily I found a tiny bit of green geli rolled tissuepaper that has gold butterflies on it, and that nicely covered the smudgy bits up.

I inked all the way around the card with a black wedge tip Sharpie. The font I've used on all my sentiments so far and that number 15 is called, Special Elite. It's a freebie, and you can download it HERE, or google the name. That's it from me! Thank you for stopping by!

#GelyPostCardPlay_Number 14-A few Flowers and Hearts

  Morning! Off to the beach in a few minutes, meeting family so, I aimming for a quick post this morning! I'm following the challenge set by #cerithecrafter, #gelypostcardplay, so! That link leads to Ceri's no 14, and here's my 14th postcard!

I'm quite pleased with this quickie, as I've not used papers from a paper pad before and it seemed a very good way to get this done quickly! Th3 14th reminds me of PanCakes and Valentines, so, I added TimHoltz hearts to my geliprint piece of card after fussing cutting out the image, and then did a bit of stamping. Of course I wanted to stamp, 'be mine' or just Love, but could only find tiny worded stamps.

 

The 8x8 'Arty Paper Pad' is called 'Out of This World' Not one I would normally pick up but in was in a closing down sale at my now 'gone' not so local Craft Shop. The pictures in it are making me thing, 'Glue Book!'  (and the 'Legs Eleven' for postcard number 11 that I wanted to do- a long legged bird, is in there!) Well! That's it from me! #GelyPostcardplay-card Number 13_Unlucky for Some

 Afternoon peoples, crafty or otherwise! Another card has appeared. I think I must be doing them in my sleep! Number 13 for #cerithecrafters #Gelypostcardplay, everyday for the whole of July.

This card started off as a blackish-grey swirly thing, with added gold lines, which you can't really see. I wanted a ladder, but couldn't find one I liked, so fancied using the film strip instead. While hunting for that, I found/remembered the skull and cross bones by Tim Holtz.

Haven't used that in years! So it came in handy. I added tissue paper skulls to his eyes, plus another tiny die-cut to his other eye cut from a small bit of geliprint.  The cat on his head is also tissue. There's also a Spider's web, some stamped words and numbers, and a bit of scribbling. Well, that's it I think, at least it's not Friday the 13th!
