At last Happy New Year Gonk Freebie! CLOSED

At last a freebie! It was ready to go out this morning, but you'll know why it didn't if you read the last post!  A comment would be lovely. Thank you for stopping by!  CLOSED

Just another day....

Evening everyone...Sorry there's been no freebies. Hopefully you'll be pleased to know there'll be a Gonk coming up in the next post!! Life, as they say, just got in the way! Today started off Good! I'd ordered a new Console Table (which I'd had my eye on since last year!) just right to go in the hall, from my local gardening centre and at half price I was very pleased with it!  Yay! Anyway my trouble started a few days back, coming  home from visiting family, driving the car (And remembering what happened last Christmas... I had that young girl on a motor bike cut across the road in front of me and took out my passenger side headlights, door, bonnet etc...so I expected trouble)) the dash board lit up saying to check the tyres... I stopped as soon as I could and guess what, the tyre was flat as a tur 💩pancake! Managed to get to the nearest Tesco's to use their Air pump thingy. It was dark and I had no idea what button to press! Luckily the lady assistant came to my rescue and showed me what to do. Once pumped up that got me home. In the morning the tyre didn't look too bad, but there was a screw firmly stuck quite deeply into it, which meant of course, it needed a new one. (tyre that is, not screw) This morning it was flat as a badger again... An idea came to me to ring the RAC (why not, I pay them every month) Within the hour a RAC-man came out, pulled out the screw and started filling the now larger hole with this blue stuff.... the idea was, to pump it up with his compressor..but...his little poky tool thingy, broke! and he couldn't get enough of this blue gunk in the hole. He gave me some numbers to ring to get a mobile tyre guy out... they either didn't answer the phone, or were the wrong number for that service or...told me to go on line.... yeah right. Me being dyslexic and by this time being in a state of 'loopy woman on speed' or Rudolph after drinking too much carrot juice, could not find anything about a mobile man that could fix my tyre.

So! Think Lyn! What would John do? (He would've fixed it himself of course and I knew I'd never manage the spare tyre...)  So I  phoned the local tyre garage, who was very busy, but said if I had another vehicle (yes my faithful van!) I could come down and borrow his compressor...then go pump up my flat type, that would hopefully stay up long enough to get me to the garage. That done, the type was pumped up...air was coming out faster than it was going in! Thankfully, next door neighbour, Dave, had a faster compressor, got it filled up, and I shot off,  hoping all the traffic lights were on green!

waiting at the garage

It was flat by the time I got to the garage...and there were a lot of cars lined up to go in.  45 minutes later, a new tyre was ordered, the spare tyre was put onto the car. So glad I didn't try that! Anyway, the machanic told me, I would've never got it off! He said, banging away, 'don't worry, this hammer will not damage your wheels!'  I guess the RAC man could've put the spare tyre on... but I don't think he had a big enough hammer!

Looking back, when we bought the car, it didn't have a spare wheel, but John insisted they put one in the boot. So glad he did... I would've been stumped without it! So! that was my day... Back to the garage Tuesday morning to get the new tyre  added and the 'reinitiatie' done.

In the week, happier times with Bronte and Remi, two dogs I looked after.

And that's why I've been too busy to post ...but as I said at the top of this post.... There's a freebie on its way!! Maybe even two. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy WOYWW #760!? and A Happy Christmas Tree T for Tuesday!

Happy New Year and...Happy WOYWW #760!  And...as I did last week... Happy T for Tuesday too! I haven't opened my laptop all week, as I've been busy finishing things (or trying to) off. I think I got most of it done (or maybe not) but as they say, 'Time Waits For No one!' At the top is my advent Calender...all the chocolates have been eaten (not all my me) I do still have a few things  I want to add to the back and the sides....I was thinking, candy canes and candy and a snowy scene. I'll post a finished picture when it's none and then I can start on the one for next year! 2024.

I stayed at my daughter's for Christmas and Emma and I started Christmas Morning off with a Bucks Fizz. For Boxing day, Tom started his long journey to Deb's (my daughter in law) on his super fast bike and stopped half way for a snack....he sent us this picture. Yum!!

I loved Emma's Candle Table decoration...'specially the Christmas tree mug...
Sort and sweet this week! Lets make 2024  brillaint! Thank you for stopping by!

It's Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening from me~ as I  quicky  post for T for Tuesday and Whats on Your Worktop Wednesday, on a  Thursday because I've got into a really huge muddle about what day it is... and if I don't do a post now, how can I wish EVERYONE a Happy Christmas on this Happy Solstice day! So! Starting with, top picture, For T stands for Tuesday...Cocoa...lovely hot....and cold!

And another drink I love cold...is Baileys. Found this bottle in the garage fridge....Now, how long does a bottle of Baileys last, does anyone know...?) ..((two minutes))..And now...

What's On my Kitchen Worktop#1...

On the side worktop...#2

Here you can just make out the the blue box card I started making last week, now with it's 'cover' on... and here's a close up of it nearly finished opened up.

(Not sure I like the cover, so I made another card, without the cover, below, also using #craftconsortium papers. I changed the way I did the back of the card too. I'll show that in a later post)

By the jars, worktop#3

On the drainingboard....worktop #4

Have to be careful not to let anything fall into the sink!

and worktop #5 on the oven....!    Note, there's no ironing board this week as the Christmas tree is in it's place in the loving room.

Yesterday I was on the beach, very cold and windy with two dogs, Maz, full name Maisie... that's becoming a very popular name for dogs! And below, this little fellow is called Max...

Back now to Time for T on Tuesday...and we see Cookie Mug with Hot Chocolate, whipped cream and cookies... chocolate biscuits melt though, so, not a good idea!

{He looks sooo happy! While I wait for my pictures from my phone to arrive in my email box...I'll go make me a hot chocolate!}

That's it for now... Hoping you all had a very happy Tuesday and Wednesday! Pop over to AlteredBooklover and Stamping Ground! And if I don't see you soon....Have a Very HAPPY CHRISTMAS!! Thank you for stopping by!

WOYWW!?#758-And A bit of Snome!

Ok...it's Wednesday already....What's on YoUR worktop this Wednesday!? Come and join in over on 'Stamping Ground' and see what's going on out there in Blogland! I had the blind people come and put two blinds up yesterday so I sort of tidied up (which means, I shoved everything into the rooms they wouldn't be going in. Then spent ages trying to get the old blinds down in the 'red bedroom.' I used a few swear words and with a bit of yanking, which seemed to help, they came down in the end! So this morning I moved what I'd been doing back into the kitchen area, ready to start making cards!

I really love the 'It's Snome Time 2' but really hate cutting into it. I was sure I had the first Snome one bought ages ago, but I can't find it anywhere, so I was pleased my order for the  Snome Time 2 bundle had arrived a few weeks back..I want to make a few box cards and add them to the inside of a card...but that means covering up some really lovely pictures...so my brain has come to a stand still. I'll work it out! (Best not to make them into a card then, sez Brian the Brain)

Here's what I've started so far. Definitely going to use the little toppers as cards...maybe! And on a good note, blogger has suddenly allowed me to load up pictures like I always used to. I think the Gremlins got out voted by the Christmas Fairies! That's it for now!! Have a great WOYWW day/week/month! Thank you for stopping by.

Oh It's Time for Tea On Tuesday!

And it IS teatime too... I started this at breakfast time! So I'm not so  early as I thought I was! Just pop over to Altered Book Lover, where you'll find Elizabeth and Bleubeard having T on Tuesday , along with a few other crafters busily doing all sorts! Above is my last nights Hot Chocolate....with squirky cream...(don't tell the diabetic nurse ) in my of my latest Christmas mugs! plus some Rudolph napkins that will probaby be used in some altered arty thingy later.

Then it's this mornings breakfast...Porridge Oats. ( I think I've been spelling it wrong) Some people across the pond have no idea what that is! Scotch Porridge Oates probably put Scotland on the map, along with Bonnie Prince Charlie and  Kilts! (Google infro:- Scottish porridge is made with ground oats rather than the flattened or rolled oats common to the USA)

I put a handful in a bowl (another Christmas bowl and cup from Lidl) add milk (some weird people use water) put in microwave for 2 mins, stir, put in for another minute, add sugar, stir (some people add salt instead) and eat! You can also add cream! Or... put in a sausepan and cook till it's done... Like my mum used to) As you can see, my magazine came...I keep them in these folders, along with download papers and the 'free' gift. At the back you can just see a wooden sleigh (gift from a WOYWWer last Christmas) that I'd just painted gold. I multi-task all the time and get nothing done!  After the blind people had been  (people that put up blinds) I was just wondering what to cook, and decided on fry-up chicken thingy.  No! there's no pictures! (you'll be pleased to hear) and suddenly remembered I hadn't posted this post yet....ooops...late again

I've been putting up lights most of the week, and I literally threw the poor Christmas tree down from the attic in bits... put it together... (Looks dead, doesn't it?}  added a 'few' decorations...dah dah dahhhh! it's up!

So glad I brought in that indoor out door mat, they are brilliant! Can't move the tree, so, seeing it's just me, it's staying just where it is!

I did promise a picture of the garden Christmas tree last week, (left hand corner) Garden lights are nothing like they used to be, but I did my best! Will add more later. Well! so much for thinking I'd be early this week....it's nearly midnight! I fell asleep after my chicken dinner (and a chocolate moosy thing for afters) That's what I've been up to...(apart from sorting wreaths, filling green garden bags (we're getting a BIN next year) walking dogs and getting covered in mud, again! I wish this rain would stop!) Time to go see Elizabeth and Bleubeard for more (not always) crafty stuff! Thank you for stopping by!!

Wots On Your Worktop Wednesday?!#757 with Links To Freebies

Hello crafty WOYWWers! Here's my kitchen top, which is about the same as yesterdays, with a few added things after my shopping spreed. Had to go sort out my van's MOT so, why not do a bit of shopping too? I'm still not used to going shopping on my own. I pick up things and put them back again. I still look for backup from John, which is odd really cos I've got a few things that he'd buy over the years... and they're still at the back of the cupboard! I'm making that tab (a Friday freebie from Gi, Happiness in Crafting) I was looking for some paper to line the tab, to make it a bit stronger. I wanted music as some of the add ons I bought from her shop have music.

Anyway, back to 'shopping'. A trip to The Works got me those document wallets (5 for a £). The Rudolph Tissue paper was from TKMax (1.99) I'm hoping to make it the cover to a glue book filo...The gnomes were from a charity shop at £1. Also in TKMax I bought a blouse...I put it back three times! I could hear John's voice saying, 'if you like it, buy it!' Then, 'What was it's real price!?' I turned the tag and it was £65... (Definitely a no no!!) 'and their price?' £19. 'So, no brainer', sez John, in my head. And I do love it!
In another charity shop find. I bought this (once a freebie in a crafty magazine years ago) Safari Friends stamp set with embossing folder. I've seen them on ebay for over a fiver plus postage. This was a pound. So, good deal done! And aren't those critters cute!?

And talking of stamps...this, is not a slug, but what is left of a small Happy Christmas stamp, it appears to be melting. I know it's probably years old, but this is proof, they don't last forever. Maybe it's a good idea to stamp out a few of your favourites in advance, just in case!  Now, The blue-ish paper it's on, I think/guess is a freebie download from Tattered Lace. Login/ register, for loads of Tattered lace type freebies.
This is what my kitchen top ended up like after I'd put the tag together. In the end I lined it with what was once a drawer liner with music and cherubs. I'm now, not sure how Gi did the ribbon. Going to have to watch the video again. This is very much like my little treat holders I made waaay back in 2013, adding Reindeer pooh treats. Of course, Gi's is sooo much more 'grow-up' But then...looking at these...I think I might make some more!

Yesterday, I didn't manage to put the Christmas lights on the garden Christmas tree, because I couldn't unscrew the battery box! In fact it broke my little screw-driver! A trip back to Tesco's and I was given a new box of lights, which even the assistance found was very tricky to open! That's me done! Off to put the lights up, well, only ones I can reach! (No one will get me up a ladder to hang them from the guttering!) Have a Happy Crafty Week, and if you can, pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in!

Times ticking on, for Tuesday's T Time

Hello 'Tuesday stands for T people!' Hope you're all well and not too flustered with the thought of Christmas lurking up very quickly! I'm early! Don't faint...it's VERY rare that I'm early...but I did get up ten minutes before I went to bed... Above you can see, my lastest Christmas mug and bowl, Rudloph, bought from Aldi. You can get 'grown up' ones, with Christmas scenes from other gift type stores...but they cost over twice as much! My poor Pains Au Chocolate got zapped in the microwave at double the time and the chocolate inside has gone all crunchy!

A wider view of my boring poridge breakfast, after pushing back some crafty stuff I'd just downloaded. Following Gi Kerr from Happiness in Crafting,(shop) I'd downloaded her Friday Freebie, so thought I'd go buy the add ons too. Further back in the pile are magazine pages I've ripped out, thinking I might start a glue book...might not happened it's not poking my...um... whatever at the moment! Then there's some battery Christmas lights for the outside Christmas tree. (half Price at Tesco's) I just wish they wouldn't use a tiny screw to close the battery box. Now I've got to go hunt out a tiny Phillips screw driver. ( I had one in a cracker once) Seen right at the back is some WD40. The back sensors on my van stopped working! I really need them on a van! So, after consulting Google, I sprayed them with WD40 and the next time I went backwards they worked! (Good tip if that ever happens to you) New sensors can cost up to £140 odd quid! or more) Right at the back, I have pulled my mum's Sewing machine out of the darkest corner in the spare room, brushed off the cobwebs and am now trying to work out how to threadle it! (yes, threadle is a word in my house!) Later I'll add a picture of the outside Christmas tree! Pop over to Alteredbook lover and join in!! Elizabeth has some fabulous pictures of Christmas Mugs!!
Up Date: The 'grown-up mugs' I was on about, I've just found a picture of one among the magazine pages I was ripping out (thinking I was going to do a bit of Glue booking) Definitely twice as much and a bit more than Lidl's! But that Christmas Gnome is sooo cute though!!
