What's on your worktop? Another WOYWW!? # 673 And A late T stands for Tribrute

This year is zooming along at such a speed, it's nearly May already! And I nearly missed WOYWW!?  and I did miss T for Tuesday. Sorry I ran out of time last week as I have been finding it hard to get round to everyone.  I have to keep turning my VPN off or on to get into a lot of blogs. (Yes....I'm clueless too! but it seems to act like a secret key)

Easter was good, lots of egg hunting for the kiddies and eating and drinking for the grown-ups. Then I was trying to sort out an oologie, as I call them. (I mean eulogy) for my brother Mike and of course I wanted to hunt out a poem too. Everything went off well, the little chapel was full of friends and family. We walked in to the sound of 'Sandman' By Metallica, then after poems and family tributes from me and Michael's youngest daughter, 'Time of Your Life' by Green Day. Then exited with the sound of 'Rockin' All Over The World', by Status Quo. Yep there were a few smiles and Mike would've been smiling too, I'm sure.

Above are the kiddies, the day before, on Easter Sunday, showing off their eggs! The first picture at the very top is my workbench. I made a space where I pushed everything sideways. I've been die cutting a few things. This die-set was a 'freebie' from issue 88 of Die-Cutting Essentials. It didn't work the first time. The second time was better, but it took ages to get all those little bits out.

This is what was on the other side of my bench a few hours later... Hubby took me off to Hobby Craft to spend a Birthday Voucher I hadn't used and came back with this little pile...most of it was a bit cheaper than normal, apart from those Woodware Stamps plus an order from Crafter's Companion  had arrived too, a bundle of diecuts and stamps, most of which were half price.

We had Dexter and Duke stay over, and we had a windy walk along the beach, so no wonder I didn't have much time for crafting!

I will be very late but I could add this to T for Tuesday too! A Tuesday Tribute. Here's some of the things I did manage to get ready  for Easter Sunday... I made cartons and little boxes full of chocolate goodies. The bunny rabbits, you can just see their ears, are a freebie download from Pinterest....You'll find them on my Pinterest too. That's it from me! Happy WOYWW! #673  and cheers to Tuesday. Thank you for stopping by!

This Weeks Wednesday Freebie-On a Wednesday! CLOSED

Here he is! Speedie Cat... was going to be Scccarrrdie cat, but I think I've already got one of those!  A comment would be lovely! Thank  you for stopping by! CLOSED

Here's the Finished Twist and Pop Easter Card again

I posted this card  last week. I made it for the Grandkiddies. I managed to get it finished Easter morning...glue still not quite dry. It's a top folding card with a larger  topper fixed to the front.

Later added some white card to write on the back

I've added gems, a bow to the front as well as making a small embellishment from  the Easter patterned paper I used inside, which were freebies waaaaaaaaay back-a mixture from QuickCards made Easy ##111 and Cardmaking and Papercraft. I found some HERE. You may have to login. (The clouds behind the puss-cat are from my stash)

The papers on the front of the card are from a 12x12 paper pad called 'Viva Forever' The Easter Egg ribbon's from my stash, probably from Crafty Ribbons years back. I won a bundle and still have loads left.

The bunny and spotty papers on the Twist and Pop bit, I've found but the link doesn't work... I've added 'Hello' and balloons using die cuts from my stash. The mechanism is also a die-cut from  Sam Calcott's Made To Surprise, called Garden Delights  (I think I got mine a bit cheaper! The stamps and papers to match had already sold out)

I coloured the puss with ProMarkers, which I think I've already said. Now, can I enter this into some challenges now that it's finished? I'm not sure, we'll see! We have dogs tomorrow...but I'm hoping to load up the little  Easter boxes and houses I made. Bye for now!

This Weeks Wednesday Freebie CLOSED

Here's This weeks Wednesday Freebie, either a large bird house or a small dove-cot. Didn't have any idea what I was going to draw, when this popped up. Sorry it's a bit late, as I've been busy sorting things this week for my brother's funeral on Monday. Odd that funeral is  an anagram of real fun... no, it's not! Stay safe, Keep Crafting! Thank you for stopping by!CLOSED

Blast For The Past...

For a change, this Monday's Blast for the past, isn't on the blog, it's a 'first'  sketch of  a birthday card, for one of my mum's dart friends from waaaay back before I was blogging, from 1997. I'd quickly draw out some kind of scene, make up a rhyme, stick it on some card, colour it (long before I had Promarkers)...and that would be that.  I made loads of these, especially for teacthers who were leaving. I made one for a pub landlord who was moving once... HERE. What d'yer think? I know... don't give up the day job!

Wednesday's Freebie-On A Friday CLOSED

Here's this weeks freebie, sorry it's late...I did start off doing a super hero cat, with cape and mask and kinky boots...but...well, his legs just wouldn't go right. I get that feeling sometimes! This puss is supposed to be a book mark, with the front and the back, but s/he doesn't have to be. Could be looking out through a window? I have drawn her/him smaller that usual and printed out on A4 250gsm  at size A5. (I have card that's 200gsm but the 'paper' I usually print my background papers on is super smooth and soooo much nicer!)

Here's mine. I coloured in Promarkers and covered it in Stick-back plastic. Anyway, GO HERE to download. Thank you for stopping by! Ps. the words 'Bookworm cat' isn't on the download so you could use the same card to make the marker bit. (Mine was 250gsm)

WOYWW!? #671 Rabbits and Houses and stick its, oh my!

Another Wednesday and another WOYWW!? I, for once, do have something productive to show, but as I'm not really here...I'll post more pictures later! See you in a few shakes!

Lola on our bed this mornning
Okay, it was a bit longer that a few shakes! I had a text from Lola's owners  saying they were home and I could drop her back to them... 'Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, with feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there-' Stop stop stop! Everyone keeps singing that song everytime I call her! Two guys in the British Legion  started doing the  merengue the other day! (the little chihuahua pictured above who sometimes stays with us) Anyway, by the time I remembered I'd forgotten their key...and then of course I had to visit  the Crafty Charity shop first (now open Sundays) So, hours had passed! Right! Back to WOYWW!?

You're all right... it's a roof of a little house (Picnic Box by Gemini Crafters Companion) I've added windows now, but it's still an on going 'thing'.
The roof is....a cat food box, the inside is such a great colour and even better after the die-cuts have had a quick brush with Vintage Photo. I throw nothing away!
Sorry I'm late with the Wednesday freebie.... his legs are all wrong! Back to my Worktop and slightly to the right...

Our Anniversay Card with the butterflies, isn't finished yet (that was yesterday)  Another Xyron quick sticker, I mean... you don't see them for years and then three come along all at once...I bought two a few weeks back and this one was new, still in its box at The Crafty Charity shop, so I had to have it! There's the inside of The Twist and Pop Easter Card...that's still not finished either. My new little scissors..lost, and found them in with the 12x12 paper Really Useful Box. I gave them a hug and kissed them...nobody saw! ( I still haven't found my other ones...bet John's got them in his workshop!)

There's some stamped bunnies on a see-saw I've added postit notes to, so I can ink the background. There's my Glue gun???? Oh yes, I turned a cat food box inside out and glued it back together again (I said a cat food box, not a cat!) to use for bits...ummm, yes...that's already full. And, over on the other side I've had a tidy up of my (Crafty Charity Shop find) carousel. Well, I think that's it! Must go and figure out how to get those legs right on this weeks freebie. My Birthday Challenge was won by Elaine. Along with a digi of her choice she will also receive my 'Down The Dell digi'... luckily, that doesn't have any legs! Thank you for stopping by and popping back! Happy WOYWW!? Have a Great Easter Weekend! Bye for now!

Happy Easter Twist and Pop Card

Hi peoples. Here's a Twist and Pop Easter card made with a slightly bigger mechanism than I've used before. I haven't taken pictures of the inside yet as I've been a bit preoccupied. We had a family bereavement over the weekend. My brother Michael lost his fight with terminal cancer and I've been walking dogs and 'messing in my Craft Room.'  Odd that Hubby and I went to Kent a little while back and I showed Mike a picture of the bungalow, where he was born...and this morning I had a phone call from his eldest daughter needing to know just that. Anyway, I've used this weeks Freebie, 'Banner Buss.' I was going to add rabbits ears to her, but it looked a bit odd! I'll add more photos and details later. Thank you for 'hopping by'

Update....I did manage to finish this card by Easter Sunday!

This Weeks Wednesday Freebie!

Here's Banner Puss, hope you like her/him/furry thing. I was going to write on the banner but then thought better of it. That way it can be an anything card! Don't forget, My Birthday Challenge is on until the 12 April!  Thank you for stopping by!

WOYWW?! #670

It's Wednesday, YAY! (is there any other day in the week?) So that must mean, (drum roll....I wonder what they taste like?) it's WOYWW!? Hope every one is well and fit, ready to go hopping all over the globe. Stamping Ground is waiting! Anyone can join in! Here's my mess....I mean craftiness. I haven't done much this week (had fish to feed and we had a young dog come to play! Good News, I've just finished this weeks freebie, and that's on timer. For once, I'm ahead of myself. It won't last!

I'm colouring this weeks freebie, called Banner Puss, thought I'd make a card! The stamped out Frogs are waiting in line. I got the frog Stamp from Julia when she was having a bit of a clear out! Love him!
There's not a lot of difference from the last four desks really... I've just pushed it all back to make room, where it very slowly, slithered to the floor!  Hi to my new followers, it's nice to see new faces! (as sooo many blogs have disappeared)That's it! Thank you for stopping by, 'see' you all later over on Stamping Ground! Stay Safe!

Time for T means Tuesday And a bit of Tunnel Travelling!

WARNING! A long post! I haven't been joining in with T  for Tuesday just lately, so I'll start with a nice picture of a very naughty chocolate cake! As we were feeling a bit 'off' with the C bug, we stayed home until we were cleared but instead of traveling off to... Cornwall...as planed, we went to, Kent, where I was born. We still stayed in a 'Log Cabin' but it wasn't in a wood. It was very nice, although it was on a fast road... in fact, Kent has changed sooo much, I was a little disappointed. The Apple and Cherry Orchards I remember going on forever had all gone, in fact even the Farm had gone too! (nothing much to replace them, just overgrowness and rubble where the farm barns and cow sheds had been) And there seemed to be nothing but motorway after motorway after motorway. Definitely not the Garden Of England I remembered. Still, it was many decades ago! I recognised where we were, and told hubby John...''Turn left up here!" then left again, down a old single  track concrete 'road' where the row of bugalows were still there. They were 'tied' cottages back then, which meant, they went with the job... so if you lost your job, you lost your home too.  Most of the bungalows had lost their lovely front gardens, to be replaced with makeshift drives (or crushed rubble) for the new owners to be able to park their many cars  and 4x4's.  Nearly all of them had garages now. No one needs a log or coal shed these days...and I'm sure we also had an outside loo, (for when you were working in the garden) The back gardens were big too...lawns, vegetables gardens. Greenhouse, even a place to chop up your fire wood!

No one answered the door where I lived and where my brother was born. So I took a quick picture. Then after introducing myself, I asked the lady now living where Mrs Cornford lived, if I could take a picture. (At least their drive had been bricked and the old metal crittall windows had been replaced with really nice ones and the front door now had a new porch.

She didn't seem very happy, and said 'as long as you don't take pictures of my cars' Well, why would I? Her new wooden garage took up an area of what was once a tiny slice of the Cherry orchard. So we moved on.

My first school (with one room that could be divided into two, (5 to 7 year olds) had gone too, and that was now part of the field that had always been there. Then on to my second school....(5 to 11 year olds) which was now a home for someone. The next stop was the sweet shop I remember going through double doors and buying blackjacks and fruit salads, 4 for an old penny, wasn't there, and had never been

a sweet shop!  It was a pub! ('Yay' said John!)They were really lovely and the group of gentlemen sitting outside supping their beers when we arrived, told me where the long gone sweet shop used to be. 'You go round the corner here-go to the old tin shop and he'll tell you all about it' and he did!

Lorries, parked on the motorway waiting to go into Dover. No P&O boats.

Later we passed lorries waiting on the motorway because there were no P&O boats sailing as they'd suddenly 'retired' all their workers.

Here's some of the P&O boats at Dover docks. I thought it would have been bigger than that.We stopped for a cupper and I saw this....

I think these will be springing up everywhere!

Then we were off visiting Castles. All of them were linked to  Henry The 8th.

 Going through the gate....

Up on the roof... and then down in the tunnels that went under the Castle...

The tunnels went on....

                                                 and on....

 ...and on...

  and on

and on...getting darker and darker! At every turn...they looked the same...

Well, if you're still with me, thanks you stopping by! I know it's gone on and on... but this is last weeks and this weeks T For Tunnels, I mean Tuesday! Trundle over to Altered Book Lover and join in!

Another Blast from the Past-Whatever happened to the Ugly Card?

Every Monday I'm going to (or try to!) add a card, or creation that I made waaay back, as I've noticed a lot of my pictures from years ago have disappeared. So...here we go with something from either the 1st of the month, first time I'd used or done something or... made on a Monday or made in the same month as now! (This was my first 'Ugly' Card...)

The card I wanted to post I can't find... I probably forgot to add labels, anyway, I found this post! I was sent an 'Ugly' card waaaaaaaaaay back in 2009. I sent it off and I never heard anything more... is it still out there roaming the universe?

The (Ugly) Travelling Card

Here's the Ugly Card! See, I told you it wasn't Ugly, didn't I. Rita sent this to me last month and it's been hiding in my craft room (poor thing's probably never seen such a mess!) The idea is...you take a picture of the Travelling Card somewhere near where you live. Rita chose some rather posh looking mansions, so I chose...well, normally it's a really nice, unique house near the sea, where two of my favourite dogs live, but at the moment its a bit, messy as it's being completely renovated!
So first I took a picture of it by my pond at home.. It's sitting on the 'Mind-your-own-business.' Then, Ugly Card came with me to work and I took a picture of it on the new sea wall. Then there's Ugly card on the fence, (Misty Isle of Wight views in the background, but lovely texture to that oak fence! Click the pic to make it bigger) Ugly card on the cement mixer (spot the guy in the shorts!) and Ugly card, being sniffed by one of the dogs!
Tomorrow, I might take it up to the Forest and get a New Forest pony or two in the back ground! Or, better still, I'll take it to hubby's 'works do' tomorrow night. Hmmm, maybe not!
Diane Forest of Little D Creations in Canada, started this all off at the end of March 2009 and thought it would be fun to see how far this card would travel, so she named it the Ugly card, Rita named it the Travelling Ugly Card.
Tracy in Canada was the first person to receive it from Diane, who sent it on to Jen in Hawaii who then sent it on to Rita in Massachusetts and Rita sent it to me!
We already have a few takers! So that's brilliant. I'll also make a few Ugly cards too, so anyone who wants to join in just yell...or email or leave a message...and we'll see what happens!!
This one will go off to Sylvia, of Poppy's Papercraft Patch (yes Sylvia that's you!) who was the first one to say, 'count me in Lyn'...and my first card will go off to Susan's Crafty Chaos as soon as I can make my own version of the ugly card...but I am thinking 'Ugly' here...A cute Troll maybe!?! Any ideas welcome! Anyone can join in! (I'll just make more cards!)
Now,
just time to say 'Hi' to new follower, Nicola over in sunny Spain! (Lucky devil!!) We've 'met' on the forums! Pop over to Nicola's Creations there are some fabulous challenge cards to see!
Right, that's me done for tonight, BIG mess to clear up in the living room and in the hall...I can't help it.. I've been making a card for Penny's Challenge. (birds) and some Inchies for Inch by Inch (leaf) and...well...I spread!
No wonder John's been in the shed all evening!! Actually, he's being very productive, he's downloading (or is that uploading?) all my Harry Potter Stories on to my phone. How cool is that!
Thanks for stopping by!
