Old Gaffer's Weekend Isle of Wight

Sorry, no cards today, it's been soooo hot, I've spent most of the day in the garden filling up hanging baskets and pots. We had a great day out yesterday at Yarmouth, I.O.W. and we all came back totally cream crackered and sun burnt! It must have been the hottest day for ages.
I've added a couple of pictures, well, a few... bit muddled, but that's so you can't spot me in my French Cowboy hat! (Yes I actually paid money for that!)
It isn't easy getting them (the pictures that is) where you want them. When you're in Blog cyber-space, you think you've got them all lined up in the right place and then when you save it they all jump about swapping with the ones next to them! "Me! put me there, you don't want to put him there, Put Me there! Not that silly little one"...not that the pictures actually talk...but you know what I mean!
I want to say hi (((wave))) to my new followers! It's great to have you on board (boating term there, to go with the post!) I'll mention you all tomorrow and plug your lovely blogs because they are all fantastic! And hopefully, toes and fingers crossed, I should finish my next card by then! (I've run out of photo glue again! ) So, catch you all tomorrow!! I mean...later on...well, at least after breakfast...or brunch!

A Bit of Painting

I can't believe it's Thursday already, and I haven't posted anything since last weekend. What have I been doing all week?? Well, Monday, work...Tuesday, a visit to the doctors, who, at last has agreed to allow me to nip ((Moi?? Nip??) down to the hospital for an X-ray on my wonky leg! So that'll happen sometime never, which when you think about it, isn't too bad! (I used to drive motorbikes. Car came out of turning, didn't look, SMaCK! He gets off with a bent car and I'm left with a wonky leg.) SO!!! Lesson from Lyn, drivers, look once, look twice, look BIKE!!
Now, on Wednesday, I bullied Hubby into taking me over to the Isle of Wight, just because I wanted to visit a crafty shop that had moved into new premises, with promises of lots of crafty bargains. (I promised him a pint and a meal in his favourite pub...that always works!) And, at last I did manage to buy a refill for my Xyron 501. The poor thing's been empty for over six months! Today, Thursday, I've been to work, and tomorrow, Friday, we're off again all next week, house and dog sitting. So I don't expect to get much crafting or Blogging done...but have Laptop-will travel!
Right, enough chatter (Nobody reads it anyway!) time for pictures! How about some "Altered Art" Does this count?? It was many moons ago I found some broken pottery or a tile on the beach at Pentewan (near Mevagissey, Cornwall) We often stay there out of season. I'd bought a load of crafty stuff from Trago Mills, including a set of acrylic paints for well under half price and just HAD to paint some thing...and this is it...

Surprize!! It's your Birthday!

Hi! I'm back! We've been away for the past week. (Well sort off) We stayed in a log cabin (haha...you'll see the pictures later!) on the Isle of Wight!. VERY behind with my Card making, So just nipped this one in for now...Another Stickeroo! The little hand comes from.... Tesco's! More on Tesco later! (With pictures!)
Thank you everyone who sent me a Birthday Card!! I put them all on my PhotoBucket.
Here's a few pictures I thought I'd squeeze in here of the IOW 'Log Cabin' (Okay...so it's a wood covered caravan, but it was very roomy and quite cozy too!) We stayed there just for a few days (tokens from the Daily Newspaper made it under a tenner a night) In the hight of the season this'll set you back over £1,000 a week!

Some of my cards I opened, while away. The fantastic fan was made by my Aunty Bette! She goes to Craft Classes and this is what she made there. To see the others and more click on the title above.

John's still on Holiday, so we're off down the beach for a picnic, seeing it's so sunny. Back Later!

(Two days later...) Okay... so I didn't quite have the time to come back later, but I thought you'd still like to see the view from our cliff top picnic. The sea was as calm as a millpond and there was just one little trawler chugging round the bay, probably catching tomorrows fish-fingers!

The White Fairies

Actually no, these aren't white fairies at all...they're the new Isle of Wight Ferries. Wight Sky and Wight Light and at last they sailed today! In January 2008, John visited Croatia to watch the launch of WightLight. She first touched the water over a year ago, to the sounds of bands playing, cheers from proud workers and villagers, after being blessed by the local Priest.
Later leaving Croatia, crossing the Adriatic Sea, staying close to the coasts of Italy, through the Mediterranean, Gibraltar, up past Portugal, through Spanish waters, past the Cape Finisterre with dolphins for company and heading East into the English Channel. So, John was very excited today as TV cameras watched from the Quay side as these proud new Ferries, after sailing over 3,600 miles, finally sailed up the Lymington River... to become the new link between the Mainland and the Isle of Wight...
