Happy Gnomey B Day David!

I was invited to a Birthday Party sometime back, which all happened this last Easter weekend, I wasn't sure I'd go, because y'know, not having John to go with but then, I thought, well, why not? Go! Pop in, say hi, pop out again. Ok! But first. You have to make a Birthday Card. (Of Course) I knew I wanted to make a kind of garden scene...and would use a fancy fun fold flip out card.. or whatever they're called (my favourites) with a gnome,  flowers, dogs, maybe cats, a chicken... couldn't find a chicken, even though I know I have one somewhere...

First of all I started off with the stamped image by  Woodware and coloured four of them with my ProMarkers so that I could later 3D the image. Then the rainbow looked a bit odd having grass at the bottom so I found my 'cloud' dies and used them at the bottom. Seeing David's small garden is divided into sections, veg, flowers, etc I added carrots. The dog is supposed to be Big George, who I used to walk a few times a week ages back. For the background behind the gnome and the clouds in front, I used different shades of blue Distress Oxide and also used the same mixture of blue ink on the topper plus some blue mirror card.

Because my printer is still printing out blurred images, I hunted through my many folders of downloaded freebie papers from magazines and found these rainbow/cloud papers already printed out on good paper. I then made more 'grass' using different shades of green distress Oxide  and I also diecut out some 'grass'

Some of these are LawnFawn images. The wheel barrow, pots, watering can, some of the flowers, the little folk and trowel, come from Die-cutting Essentials magazine #113, the balloons, dog house, little dog and treats are LawnFawn. All are coloured with Promarkers.
The little garden sign I drew myself.
(I had a stamp, but it was pointing the other way) The Rainbow/cloud background paper, you can download for free from HERE (you may have to sign in) These papers  originally came with Paper Craft Inspiration Magazine #138 May 2015! Just to prove that the oldies are the besties!

On the back of the card, I've added a place to add your sentiments etc.

That's it from me! Hoping to add this to some challenges later! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy New Year 2022! With a Twist and Pop Card! Link to Freebie Papers.

Happy New year to all my family and friends and everyone else! Hope you all had a lovely christmas and didnt party too hard over the weekend! Here's hoping 2022 will be special for all the right reasons! I thought I'd post a few Happy New Year Cards today... Here's a few Twist cards I made last week. I did have a go at making a couple of these months and months ago, when a kit came with a magazine, but the mechanism was a bit chunky so the card didn't close too well and wobbled about when it stood up.

I watched Sam Calcotts YouTube video, she's made a few on how to make this type of card, and decided to make them a little bit smaller, mainly because I wanted to use this Happy New Year Party Paper with dogs all over it and they print out as two size A5 to a sheet. (Anything to save paper! More about that in a second) So I made the cards approx 4x4 out of pearl card. The papers can be downloaded from free HERE you may have to sign in.

Once you've done one, they are quite easy to do, but time consuming, and I would recommend getting everything cut out and ready first and then fixing it all together. Sorry about the yellowy pictures. I thought I'd found a Daylight bulb for my lamp, but obviously didn't!  Now, the saving paper thing... I buy my A4 paper locally, either 160gsm up to 200gsm, it's smooth and white. The owner of the shop explained why it had 'gone up' and he told me some of his suppliers have closed down as it was cheaper to lay off their workers (and still pay them) then sell the gas, which is used to dry the paper, back to their suppliers and still make a profit. So paper could double in price, he thinks, in just a few months! That's it for now. Thank you for stopping by!

One Spinning Bunny!

I keep forgetting to post these bunny cards.  Probably because I keep titivating them, then, taking more pictures.  This is the first one. (so much cuter ears than those other peeking bunnies I did!) I bought the 'All Ears' set (I couldn't've named it better) from Crafters Companion after an email 'hopped' into my gmail. I've fallen in love with Lawn Fawn but, even with a birthday voucher and a freebie for my birthday month on offer, I chickened out buying anything from their store at the last second, thinking I may have to pay double or more when they get here from USA, because of the extra tax. (and they are very expensive to start with!)Two people have written on forums that their bills had doubled buying from USA, and one from Australia buying from here in England, had a bill go from 300 euros to over 500! (But if anyone knows better, let me know!) Anyway, back to Crafter's Companian,  a few days later they were selling all the sets!  I was soooo tempted! Then I saw a lovely package of three little cuties, a Unicorn, a Dolphin and a Mouse, with paper, card, gems, blank cards and envelopes, so I got that instead...and I've since ordered a spaceman and  a monkey....so, watch this 'space'... Here's the inside, the papers were freebie downloads from Paper Crafter magazine.

I used 'Hoppy Easter' from another stamp set as a sentiment. That font is a freebie (It might already be on your lapstop, if not, just  Google Curlz MT) They are sooo much more fun when they move! Maybe I should do a short video!
That's it for now, another bunny coming later. 'Hopping' to join in with some...
