A Dotty Home Tweet Home

I had to do this really quick because I'm not supposed to be crafting today I'm sposed to be 'tidying up'. Yes, (I whisper) I've been neglecting my what-u-call-ums? Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling?
I made this Home Tweet Home card with the freebie download, down there on my side bar...(go on, hunt it out, but not now! Read this first!) I'm hoping I'm not too late to put this little card into two challenges...

The Passion for ProMarkers Polka Dots Week 17 Challenge, 'Any Colour & Polka Dots' and The (new) Lily-Boo Too Challenge Blog! 'New Home Card' using this very cute freebie image and 2 ribbons 3 flowers and 4 brads...

Now I know The Lily- Boo Too Challenge goes on till the end of the month, so there's plenty of time to enter, but I think the ProMakers is just about up! No! News Flash. There's still plenty of time! The P&P Challenge doesn't end til 9am Tuesday! So! For once I'm early!
I printed the little house out after reducing the size by about half, printed some Pink Petticoat dotty paper in Sassy, solid, positive and negative because it matched so well with my 'Magenta' ProMarker. It's so lush! Love that colour! Tad disappointed with the 'Pastel Blue' I used for the sky though. I bought a set of ten, which came with a black sketching pen, last month in a sale and at least three of them are a bit 'dry' but I'm hoping they'll get better with use! The house and the solid colour were both mounted onto black card before they were attached to the card with 3D foam pads. I added a touch of micro glitter and some ribbons from stash and that's about it! Ah! No, nearly forgot. The font. It's called Black Jack and can be downloaded as a freebie HERE (you'll love the little 'ditti') or Here (No ditti)
Had to change this mornings picture, borrowed Mum's camera again... bet you didn't notice! These pictures are soooo much better. Only trouble is the old picture may show up in the 'linkswithin' or it may be left blank but never mind!
This card will go off to my daughter Maria...who's about to 'pop' any minute now! And at the same time move house! (We're all taking bets at what weight, what time and what day Baby Mason will be born!

Terrible Tuesday!

Okay, so it's only half past nine in the morning (as I type this but it'll probably be midnight by the time it's posted!) and you would not believe what's gone wrong so far! I spilt thousands of tiny gems and buttons all over the floor! Trod on a tube of glue! I put my Crunchy Nut Cornflakes down and Frog the Cat licked them up and then found a slug in the bath! A spider I can understand, but a slug!??? And there it was, with it's little wiggling eyes on stilts waving at me, (That'll be it's antenna Lyn) enjoying my shower gel, because of course I didn't spot it until I was actually in the shower with shampoo in my hair!! A peeping Tom Slug!! Aggrh! (Or rather, "EEK!") I quickly flicked it off the shower curtain and into the sink. In seconds it had disappeared down the plug hole! Bit of trivia...slugs can squeeze through anything if they want to. Screw a piece of wood to the floor and a slug will still be able to slide underneath it! I've seen one do justthat! No, I didn't put salt down the drain... the thought of a slimy dead slug stuck in the U bend put me off! (And I'd probably have nightmares of being chased by a giant slimy slug!)
Camera once again is only taking pictures of ghosts, so I had to result to the 'free in a posh cracker' camera to take these pictures. I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it. I thought I'd have to use the images the DT on The Crafty Pad was using on their cards, which I didn't have, but then Maxine told me 'No, anything goes!' (But not slugs!) So I made this card over the weekend using The Bubble and Squeak papers from Docrafts, and a sized down Tilda (put her through the scanner, she didn't mind) and coloured her using both ProMaker pens (her jeans) and Copic pens (her face, hands, headscarf, socks) Then sprinkled on some micro-glitter. Of course it's too late for last weeks Challenge (as I couldn't take a picture) but there's another Sketch going on this week that looks just as yummy. Slug permitting, this card will be winging its way to Middlesex, all be it, very very late, sorry!

Sylvia's Card

See! I'm here, bet you thought I'd be out the back and up to my elbows in glue, paper and card. Actually, you're quite right, five minutes ago, I suddenly realised I'd blocked myself in my craft room as I'd had everything out trying to find something and then forgot what it was...Frog the cat thought it was great fun as she could get right at the back of the shelves and play with the scraps of paper that had fallen down. Meanwhile of course, Hubby John (bless him, BIG hug) had cooked dinner and was now on his computer trying to book flights to Seattle. He's been trying for a couple of days now, but our card kept getting blocked. He tried all our cards, and everyone was blocked. Turned out after a phone call this morning from the bank that it's an automatic thing that happens if suddenly your credit card asks to spend more money that it ever has before, which in a way is reassuring but on the other hand very annoying, as the price of the air tickets kept going up by the minute as places were being snatched up!! In the end we did get our tickets, (after a nice man at the bank explained) so Seattle here we come!! Well...a few more weeks yet!
Right! Why am I here?? Oh yes. This is Sylvia's Card I sent off this morning with her goodies. made with Pink Petticoat papers, little inside pocket to hold stamped images. Clever ol' me did a bit of paper piecing. I printed the image twice, one on to heart paper and then cut out the ice cream bit and 3D-ed it. Pink Petticoat have a 'how to' HERE. Then added some micro fine glitter, with a 2 in 1 glue pen. (which isn't bad, but I think I liked the Quickie glue pen best) It's called a 2 in 1 glue pen because, according to the tiny writing on the side and I quote... "When wet use as ordinary glue. After applying allowing to dry-the same surface can be used as a sticker (reusable)" oho, have to try that! The little gems are from Anita's gemstone Wheel. (Mine was cheaper, she whispers) The card itself is Bazzil Card, Limeade I think. Is there a right way and a wrong way to fold it? I think there must be, because even though I used my Crafters Campanion thingamajig to crease the fold, little tiny fibers sort of broke away on the fold, which doesn't normally happen with Bazzil Card, cos it's good stuff, usually!
Ah, I know what you're thinking, stop yakking and tell us about the font!! Ok!! Yes it's a freebie~you might already have it, but if not it's called ... hang on ... I wrote it down somewhere... Ah! AncestorySF. You can download it for free, just Google t AncestorySF free fonts and choose where you'd like to down load it from!
I used WordArt again, so that I had an outline and could use two colours, but it writes very nicely in ordinary 'Word'. I used three Woodware punches for the flower and the leaves (stamped out using the same green Bazzil card) and ProMakers Pens for the blue and the green but my new Pink Copic pen for the pink bits. I phoned Emma (daughter) seeing she was driving past the Craft shop on Sunday Morning, to pick me up some skin tone Copic pens... Skin tone to Emma is orange...(she eats far too many carrots!!) but luckily she changed her mind and got me pink. I'm still in two minds about the Promaker/Copic Pens. Which do you like best? I want to like Promakers as I used to buy loads of Letraset stuff when I did my cartoons years ago, but they're really hard to get and the Copic Pens are just sitting there (all the colours!!) in the craft shop, which is about a 30mile round trip for me...

Yes, (sometime in the future I'm going to find this... and then pop back here and tell you about it, just so y'know, once these posts are written they aren't necessarily finished!! ) There's a challenge ( or will be, depending when you're reading this!) over on Cute Daisy May Challenge to make a Thank you card!
