A Blast From the Past!

Every Monday I'm going to add a card, or creation which I made waaay back, as I've noticed a lot of my pictures from years ago have disappeared. So...here we go with something from either the 1st of the month, first time I'd used or done something or... made on a Monday! This card was the very first Card I entered into a challange, back in 2009! only I didn't, as I didn't link in probably! Thank you for stopping by!

Shirley's Prize

Bit late in posting this! But as I've said down below, that's down below in the post before this one, not down below in the cellar or anything..cos we haven't got a cellar!..Anyway, my Internet connection had partying gremlins chewing on the cables and I couldn't get on. It really gives me the hebegebe's when that happens! I go all glassy eyed..and that's without my reading glasses.
This is Shirley's Card and the crafty-bits I sent her after she won My Blog Candy bits and pieces prize last weekend!
I cut a 12x12 lilac card down so it had a little extra flap inside to hold the stamped images.
I used a mixture of Pink Petticoat papers and images in the same shades and coloured them with my (permanent) Promakers. I even used one to colour the brad. It was already red, but I wanted to make it match the cherries. Now, the font, you may already have but if not, it's called akaFrivoity and is available as a free download from 'Fonts for free'. (Or just Google the name, and other sites will pop up) Have a look, you may find other fonts you like! I put this through WordArt on your computer, so it's a little thicker and has a colour infill edged in black, but it still writes really nice in just plain old Word.

Ah, now before I go, I'd love to welcome three new followers! We really do have enough to have a party now, don't you think! Big (((Wave))) to...
Myran Over on Myrans Bo,
ilovmybugs, with her blog, Ilovmybugs. Thankfully for the squeamish, there's only lovely cards and no bugs!
and Sarah and her lovely blog called Crafty by Nature
Don't forget to pop over and say hi! And don't forget it's Wednesday, which means there'll be a freebie over on Dustin's blog or if not, there's always last weeks to hunt out!
That's all for now folks!!
Back tomorrow! (Internet connection and Gremlins permitting.)

A Pink Petticoat Papertake Challenge

Just had to have a go at this, I only found it an hour ago! (Even though I did have an email a couple of days back...I forgot!) Not a brilliant picture seeing it's midnight! It's for a challenge over on PaperTake Weekly Challenge. So I might be too late... I followed a sketch and at first I thought you had to use Pink Petticoat papers, but after having a shifty at some of the other lovely cards, it seems you don't have to. Anyway...I used Pink Petticoat papers and the little bird image is Pink Petticoat too. The sentiment was typed on my laptop. I used Nestabilites, a Woodware punch and a cuttle bug die-cut run through my BigShot for the shapes and Ribbon from my stash. I really want to add something else ... not sure what though. Mock stitching? Maybe. I'll post a better picture tomorrow when the sun comes up and include the inside too...
(And as if by Magic!!... more pictures appear... much better!)
Wow, is this the shortest post ever??? No... (of course not!) Just noticed we have a new follower!! "Yahoo!!" Hiding out the back with no picture is 'watchthisspace.' A big ((wave)) "Hi!" and a warm welcome to 'watchthisspace'!!
I'm so glad blogger has decided to use yellow writing on the follower box again, for a while it was black, did anyone notice? Really hard to see when your background's black too! As soon as I can find a link to you 'watch-this-space' I'll pop over and say hi and put a link here too, so we can all nip over and see your blog! Okay, that's it, past my bed time!! Catch you all later. Thank you for stopping by. Night night!

Some Quick Thank You Cards.

Ah! I can't believe I missed Friday and it's Saturday already!! There was me, stuck in my craft room...tidying...and no one came to my rescue! Well, the cat came in and purred a lot, but I think that was just because she was hungry! While I was there, knee deep in paper and stuck to a roll of very aggressive sticky dots, I made some quick Thank You cards to go with some 'swaps' I'd made during the week. I also owe some swaps, I haven't forgotten, honest! I'm just very very ... umm... slow! So this is a very quick post {haha~heard that one before} so I can get on with some stamping! These are just Pink Petticoat papers and a Pink Petticoat very large flower. Simples!
Just before I go, I'd like to welcome BusyBee, (((big wave))) to Spyder's Corner. Hi Sandra! As soon as I can find you, I'll put a link in!
Up Date pretty sure this is you Sandra! Pop over and have a shifty at Sandies Space
Thanks for stopping by~see, told you this was a quick post!~ No...hang on, just thought of something.. Blog Awards...I did forget, so I'll add them later...And tomorrow...I'll be back with some pictures of John's Sister on her bike.... Yates's in Bournemouth celebrates its 125th Birthday with a mammoth bike ride and Squaddie Auction in aid of Help for Hero's...ooho I think I'll plug that in another post!! Catch you later!!

Little Topper Shaker

The Little Topper shaker, which I made a couple of weeks ago, is now, on a card. Hmmm, not tooo sure about it. I've used the freeby backing paper by artist, designer, Nel Whatmore again. (Free with Quick Cards made Easy a few weeks ago) The spider's inside the window are of course, Pink Petticoat's Happy Haunting. Aren't they just too cute! (The little girl spiders have pink bows!) The typed circle was done on my laptop and printed onto glossy photo paper, coloured with my one and only permanent Promaker, (magenta) and then punched out with a Woodware punch. I did a 'How to type in circles' a little while ago on the TrimCraft Forum. Now bare with me! I'll try to put a link here to that, as, because I'm dyslexic and find not only spelling very hard, but remembering how to do some thing VERY hard too! I'm never really sure on how I should explain some thing, because most of you out there are really experts and brilliant crafters but there's a few, who like me, find even the basics pretty baffling! (I can make a link now! Nah-ne nah-ne-na-na!!) because the more you write the harder it is to understand! Do I start with, "Turn your computer on...?" or as I did on the forum..."Open Word" After typing out as simply as I could on how to type in circles, someone emailed me and asked..."Where's Word?" O-kay....(It's so nice to know I'm not alone!) But then Hubby told me, not every computer comes equipped with 'Word'. Now...where did I get too? Oh yes...the little 'buttons' on the card are Clear Stamps by Papermania, also coloured with the same Promaker. That's is for now, catch you later...oh! and a very warm welcome to Eiglas, Michwot and Queenie!

A Quickie Shaker

It's really gorgeous out side, gardening? No, well, there's still time! I hope this isn't the actual Summer and we have more of this to come. We ended up going for a nice walk along the beach, that way I can nip into the craft shop on the way back to the car. But it was closed! I only wanted photo glue. I didn't use too much glue on this card. At this point the phone rings....It's John.... Hubby "Come and get me.... (He'd gone out in the little red van) "It's stopped...again, I need a tow." he says, "I'm not far away." So that's what I've been doing this afternoon...why do men do it?? He knows the little red van is old and sick and doesn't like going more than a mile from home...
Now where was I??? Oh yes, just a quickie, as I'm waaaay behind with my makes. Very simple. Cover card with desired paper. These papers were a freeby of 36 sheets, from 'Quick Cards Made Easy designed by Nel Whatmore. I made the shaker frame from my Nestabilities, glued the paper to card~ (Crunchy Nut Cornflake packet coming in handy again!) ran it through my BigShot and for the first time I think I can see a bit of embossing too! Fixed the smaller frame to the larger frame, added a couple of Penny Black Stickeroos and hey-presto! A little shaker card.
This other little topper shaker, is waiting to go on another card. Both the 'inside' papers, melons and spiders, are from Pink Petticoat.
Puppy sitting all day tomorrow so catch you all later! (I'll take my laptop!)
Hey!!! Oh no! I was thinking about doing some Blog Candy when I hit 3000 hits... I've only been doing this since February! Okay.. Blog Candy coming up real soon! Promise!

Another Bubble

Another 'Bubbles'. I did this one very quickly yesterday, using up some of my papers I'd cut into ~no bit is too small to keep! Nothing is thrown away! The 'browns' were really blacks, but my printer was running out of ink. The rich red is one of Pink Petticoat's Christmas papers, but I don't think anyone will notice! I stamped 'Bubbles' a couple of times to make him 3D, coloured him in with Whisper pens, his flower a few more times on the same Christmas paper. I still haven't got any 'leaves' or 'swirls' die-cuts (They're on my wish-list) so I used the 'blink-blink' and the 'daisy' Woodware punches. The wording was done on the computer and the little birthday cake... from a set of clear stamps from... Tesco's (see below!)
I'm House and dog sitting all this week~have my laptop and Internet connection (of course) But no craft room! (How will I survive??) I grabbed a few crafty things to make something...but it's not turning out too well... Hopefully, at the end of the week I shall be thinner and fitter, with all this dog walking... ah-well, we can but dream...

Another Pink Tilda

I don't use mirror (or miri) card very often, mainly because my cutters (all three of them~ even the new one I had for Christmas) cuts wonky. And there's nothing worse than a wonky bit on a card, unless it's supposed to be there! That's why I love my Nestabilites. No wonky bits! I've used them here to cut the frame. Somewhere nice for Tilda to sit.
I've used Pink Petticoat papers and flowers cut out with a Woodware punch
I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to punches. (I do seem to have rather a lot of them) but I'm still looking for a two and a half inch circle punch ~ one I don't have to buy in from America. I can just see me now, taking an extra large suitcase when we go over to see Maria (youngest daughter) in October, full of things for the new baby but coming back with it crammed to bursting with crafty things!!
As you can see, I have finally made a link! Whoopee! Round of applause please!!! Don't you just love Blogging! Catch you later!

Hoppy Birthday

Just a quickie! Another Stickeroo. This time...a Frog. He's stuck on acetate so that he jumps out! I printed both sides of the card and actually got the 'Hoppy Birthday' where I wanted it! Not finished yet, so may change the photo later!!
Here's the other photo...Hmmm...no...don't like the ribbon...but I do like the dragonfly!

More Shaker Cards

Finished two of the four shakers cards I started in the week, my hold up being I've not only run out of photo glue, again, I've also run out of cards!
I wanted to try something new this time (well, new to me) so I cut the hedgehogs tummy out (don't worry, it didn't hurt him, he's only made of card) and then filled it with tiny little beads. Still think something's missing (his tummy!) maybe a frame or something?
The Tilda card is similar to some I've made before, and was 'specially made for a forum friend, who said she likes my shaker cards. I first made a frame for the beads (cut from a Crunchie Nut Cornflakes packet) this also made somewhere for Tilda to sit. I used my Quickie glue pen and some really fine glitter on her wings, pocket and turn-ups...Thanks for dropping by....more tomorrow!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Mum's Get Well Card

Funkyfairy have a new kit out, don't forget to go over and see. Meanwhile...here's my make for the Penny Black Get Well Card. (My second challenge! whoopeee) I decoupaged the little bear, coloured him with Whisper pens and dabbed on a bit of glitter. Then I made him a bunch of flowers, then added his arm to make it look as though he was carrying them. The card's for John's mum who's in hospital, hope it cheers her up! I printed the lavender large flowers (Pink Petticoat) straight onto pearl card this time, not done that before (cut off the white bits) and then made a sort of gate fold. I used my Woodware punches for the scalloped circles and Nestabilities for the rectangle. I bought a pack of Glitter Sheets today, spyed lilac and purple and couldn't resist it! The lilac flowers were actually punched out of the back of the packet! I was going to do a negative and positive insert for the inside, but me being me put the paper in the wrong way round and hey-presto!! it looks as if it's been embossed!

Spyder's Corner

Friday 13th....I got through the day without losing anything, (unless you count an earring) or spilling anything, (unless you count the petrol hose burping petrol everywhere) or burning anything (unless you count turning the top oven on instead of the main oven....the grill handle sort of went wonky) or... with even being abducted by aliens. It was quite disappointing really!
I made this card using Pink Petticoat Halloween papers and images all available as a download....
Well, that was short and sweet...don't really want to tempt fate seeing it's Friday the 13th so...time for coffee and a chocolate biscweet! yum!
