Fishing you a Happy Birthday Pat!

It was Pat's Birthday, he loves fishing, so I made him a 'fishy' card from papers found years back in PaperCraft Inspirations.  It's a start on using up the Crafty Stuff I have...although the die cuts on this card are new to me (They just reeled themselves into my basket!) The papers are still freebies, at Gathered, although they've changed their website and it's now quite honestly, pretty rubbish....it jumps about all over the place. You have to sign in, and it says it will send you an email to verify, but I never got one. But I did get in, in the end.
Anyway! back to the card! I started off with two black cards, one smaller than the other and made one of my favourite folds, but this time, instead of cutting one side the larger card in half, I folded it back to make a pocket. Seen below there's a purple tag showing, that's where I put the Gift Card. He also got a cap with 'Fish Whisperer' on it (try saying that ten times fast!)

These papers also had the big fish I used on one of Pat's other Birthday Cards and the link to those fishing papers on that post, still works. this LINK to the paers might work too.

This is the back of the card, it was supposed to be the front, that's why it has the extra purple layer. Never mind, it still works! I don't use the papers that used to come with the magazines, I keep those in ring binders with a link to my laptop, so I can print them out. Most mags now send you to their website to hunt out the freebies...These were printed on 120gsm and 160gsm. Well that's it from me for now. Thank you for stopping by and I fish you a great weekend!

It's Tuesday and Time for Tea on Tuesday.

There's me thinking I'd done this already...yes....last week. Where do the days go!? Happy T For Tuesday! Pop over to AlteredBooklover and join in if you dare! After moving back some crafty stuff, above is my boring breakfast...with not so boring plates! I thought I'd show off my new blue plates again... (I have the cups as well) as I was a bit fed up with the old chipped ones! (The cute little egg cup is decades old, probably bought from Woolworths!) I took daughter to Ikea for a birthday treat, treated her to lunch and some new plates too, for a New Home pressy. See her New Home Cards Here and here.

Over the weekend five of us celebrated  Karen's Birthday, with a loverly meal. (see her card here) I know I've already posted the Chocolate Bomb  but it's worth another look! It was YUM YUM Yummy!   I had sticky Chicken for starters....

Here's Karen from last summer....before her hair was pink, with some of her dogs! (I helped her out while sis in law, her normal dog walker, was away) She's hoping to start breeding again from one of her girls next year. Then there'll be lots of little Shitshoes Shih Tzu's everywhere!!

And lastly, I have two of these large Camelia bushes in my garden, flowering away and looking lovely. The other name for them? Is, Tea Plant! Oh and if there's someone here who loves Kew Gardens? Here's a link to some freebie papers. (you may have to sign in) That's it for now. Have a great week! Happy Tuesday! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Karen-Doggy waterfall Card-plus links to freebies

It was Karen's Birthday yesterday, who's Karen? (I can hear you say)Well, at the moment she has pink hair and runs the cattery where my very much missed Mr Jinx would board when me and hubby John were  away for a few days or a week. She also breeds shitshoes...sorry.. Shih Tzu's  and has informed me that she will most likely start preparing things for puppies next year.

Anyway. A birthday card had to be made and seeing I had one of my Melt Down's on Friday, I think I loaded a freebie and then, the rest of the day just vanished and I didn't even get to start her card, so???? first thing Saturday morning about 5ish, I started and by midday I was still in my pyjamas...but the card was done! Still trying to use up scraps where possible.... Most of these papers are freebies from Gathered You can find the doggy papers here, but you may have to sign in first. Loads of papers from past Paper Inspirations and CardMaking magazines and also PaperCraft issue 147 Barking Mad

Debs (sis in law) also dog walks Karens dogs, and on numerous occasions I have too!) contacted me to be at The Riverside Inn by 1.30 and for once I arrived early. (At this stage I will add, I was no longer wearing my pyjamas!) There were five of us in the end, and we had a fantastic meal, I had a Sticky Chicken Starter, Cod and Chips, and  finished with a Chocolate Bomb! (don't tell the diabetic Nurse!)

Yum all day long!!! I now have eaten soooo much in one day that I won't need feeding til next Tuesday!! Back to the card...

Yes, inside there's a sideways waterfall...which I cut out with a die and then forgot how to make it!!! So, voice in head suddenly yelled, 'Just do it!!!' so I did, and it worked and I managed not to glue it all together in the wrong places!! The pink frames are a cheat! They're just a pink Promarker, then there's 'smooth' bluish glitter card from The Works. There's also a few dots of Nuvo Jewel Drops but they're so translucent you can't see them.

Finishing with one of the last pictures Karen sent me of Mr Jinx while John and I were celebrating his last  birthday with all the family, riding that zip wire! in Cornwall.  Have a great Day! Hoping to find some Challenges!

The 2nd On The 2nd ...2014!

Let's go back a few years to the 2nd of February 2014 and join in with Bleubeard and Elizabeth's Altered booklover 'Second on the 2nd' post....

Loads of things have happen since then. My Sis in law lost her hubby very suddenly, but has remarried. Cousins and Aunties and Uncles and parents have passed away. Bugaboo is no more. Quirky Crafts stopped for a rest and never woke up again. But the good things were, I ended up having two vans!  We did mend the pond! I've now repainted every thing in the garden in an Urban grey including the carport Hubby built in the lockdown. We had the drive paved, got next door to cut down their damaging trees and renewed them with a lovely hand made fence...added a Pergola and planted a Wisteria over it... so here's my 2nd on the 2nd...

Quirky Wishes for 2014

I'm a bit late tonight with my post as I'm really stuffed up with cold, and everytime I sneeze ...welll, you don't really want to know!! It's that Quirky Craft's time again. It's Gemma's turn to set the theme and she has chosen...
Wishes For 2014
We're sponsored by Bugaboo and Sqigglyfly
I have many wishes for this year, one is to visit my daughter and grandson in USA, another is to repair the pond....it leaks, another, apart for winning the lottery, is to sort out my house and garden as I've been a bit lapse  for quite a while, after spending ages painting the fences, the shed and the little bridge in a nice soft green. Another wish is to get a nice little van or car to advertise my little Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business. So I've used four digi's from one of our sponsors. Bugaboo and made two cards almost the same.

Both cards have started off with Pinkpetticoat clouds with the digis printed over them  and inside some thin stripes. The outside stripes I made myself and you'll find them in the post below or above this one. Here  just click and save. I just made wiggly stripes using the colours I'd used on the card with my Promarkers.
I've 3D-ed the house in one of the cards and the car and the house in the other. One of the cars has dogs on and in it too. There's also a bit of paws and bones embossing. (My newest folder that jumped in to my basket coz it was a little cheaper than it should've been)
The map was cut from a free booklet, which came with a newspaper. I've cut out the bit where I live. Everything was edged in black but I ran out so some of it is paper and some of it is paper coloured with a black Promarker. (Sssh! no one will notice!)
One of the cards has a sentiment. The font I used is called Curlz MT it's the same font I used on my business cards. Google the name, some sites do charge but it can be found as a freebie.
That's my wishes for this year....although I wouldn't mind being thinner... but walking dogs does keep you fit!
Well, that's it, I'm off to bed with a hot toddy ...I've sneezed myself through this post, hope there's no way you can catch my cold via the internet! It gives a whole new meaning to a computer virus... or debugging! and Blogger is being a bit odd tonight and things keep disappearing!
Don't forget to stop by Quirky Crafts and join in!(This challenge of course in now closed!)  Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Pat. Another Year Older, Tomorrow!

I'm waaay behind.  I'm going to blame my new laptop. It has a silver keyboard with lights or maybe it's just the letters that shine out blinding me. Pulling the scene down over the letters helps...but then I can't see what I'm writing and end up shouting at people coz I'm using CaPITal letters! Of course, you could say, I'm just lazy.

We might be in lockdown with time on our hands and all the things we said we'd do we've already done in the last lockdowns, but I, in my head that is, still have sooo much to do, I'm getting to the point of just saying... I'll do it tomorrow. BUT (see want I mean?) TODAY (oh shucks) I'm going to start posting my newest makes and then catch up with my oldest ones? Why? Does it matter? So, HapPY Birthday Pat! (Brother In Law, pub landlord, likes boats and fishing) I made this card 'specialy for you.

Card: I first covered the blank card in gold mirri and then some Tim Holtz paper from his idea-ology pad. Bottle Tops...see? Pat has a pub...a few actually. Then, so I could keep all the fiddly bits on the cats, I stamped the snarky cats straight onto the card over the bottle caps, then also stamped them onto some 160gsm smooth paper, coloured them with ProMarkers and cut them out. (Cutting off their fiddly bits) Then stuck them over the stamped images so there'd still be fiddly bits. I cut a slit in one of the cat's arms so he could hold the fish, then stuck on another arm so he could hold the milk bottle. I really wanted the sentiment to say fish, not milk (hence adding the milk bottle) but then I thought maybe copywrite  rules might apply here.

The open card is completely different. One huge big gold fish with an enormous gaping mouth with a tiny 'Pat' inside calling for help!  The freebie papers are called 'Gone Fishing' and were from #192Papercraft Inspirations (July 2019)

On the back of the card is a place to write,  where I used a sheet from #189PaperCrafts Inspiration called 'Coastal Charm' 'On Deck' (from July 2018)  The papers had got mixed together and luckily for me two WOYWWers Crafting with Jack and Mary Ann,  (Both brilliant messy papercrafters, go see!) came to my rescue so I could refile them in the right place! (I know! I'm very messy but I like my files in the right place!)  https://www.gathered.how/papercraft/card-making/free-coastal-fishing-village-patterned-papers/ And the Big Fish ones,  also listed as Father's Day Papers, you can find here

That's it from me, supposed to be going out for the 'Daily Excerise' but...really should stay here, in the warm, tiding up my craftroom! Thank you for stopping by! I Hope to find some...
