Evening Everyone!! ((wave)) It's that Quirky time again.... when I sit somewhere else and worry that I didn't set the timer! But luckily it's Diane's turn to set it, over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog and we all know how she loouves to make us use own brains and do something waaaay out of our comfort zone (waaaaaay out of my comfort zone anyway!) We have a fabulous sponsor, with lovely Digi's as prizes!...(drum roll please!)
...who's offering the winner, judged by, Mio, (that's me, just is case you thought I'd changed my name) Caro, Diane and Cazzy with....
a $5 voucher to spend in their store!Isn't that a pretty little banner?!
Animal Antics!
Read on, for the cardmakers among you she wants to see your animal antics on a
You may of course, if you don't 'do' cards, enter a scrapbook page or 3D project, but we must be able to see the animal antic connection. Okay? Got that? Well, here's a video link on...
Diane's probably put a link on the challenge blog too. (If not I will!) So there's no excuse! It honestly is very easy!
Right! Here's my card! What d'think? It's not bad considering I'm rubbish at measuring! I did cheat a bit, by just cutting an A4 animal print piece of card in half, (had it for years, knew it would come in handy one day!) cutting it to size lengthways then putting in the folds, otherwise I would've had to use two bits of animal print card...and I didn't have two!

So, even though it's a tiny bit smaller, I think it works all right! Quite cute really!
I've used Cupcake Timmy and Tim the Tiger from our sponsors. I've 3D-ed the tiger on the front of the card, (cut off his tail) coloured him with ProMarkers, fixed him on with silicone glue...
I first copied the digi from where I'd saved it and pasted it on to a blank Word page, made it a bit bigger, copied it so I had two the same, added the sentiment under one of them, so it looked as though he was sitting on it.
The font I used is a freebie and after yesterdays card, where I used GoodDog font, I wondered if there was a BadDog font and there was! You can download BadDog HERE. I then added the other little tiger, left one about the same size as it appears on the page and made another one a little bigger (That's now on the back of the card)
I fixed the smaller tiger onto the 'wiper' bit. I'd already added the sentiment around it, but this time put the words 'Have A GRRRR8! Birthday!! into 'WordArt', selected the box with the curved wording and once that was on the page with the tigers, pressed Text Wrapping and then 'Tight'
This lets you pull the words into a circle, so I just curved it around the tiger, till I was happy with it and printed it out.
The pop up was punched out using a large Woodware punch, which is bigger than the inch strip it's glued to, but if you fix it to one side, so that you can't see it once the card is closed, it doesn't seem to matter how big/long the pop up is, just the card holding it has to be the same size as the gap between the folds...and that's as clear as mud to me, and I typed it!! (Watch the video link above...it's easier that it sounds!!)
I am hoping to make another wiper card...I can just see a Halloween Penny Black Cat with a Big BOO! popping up. I'll try if I have time, but am really busy next week! In fact I'm sooo busy I've decided to leave both the freebies (hidden in the two posts below this one) there for a little longer.
Hubby John took a very quick video ( a few seconds! Blink and you'll miss it!) of me playing with my wiper card... don't look at the garden, it's very messy (no change there then!) and needs a dig! That's it for now. See you over at Quirky Craft's, come and join in! Thank you for stopping by!

Great wiper card! I've only made one of these myself for a friend who's bday is on Halloween. I didn't want the bday card to be a Halloween card but did want to acknowledge it so made a little ghost pop up. She thought it was cute!
