NEW BABY or PREGNANCY.
She would also like to see, congratulations on your pregnancy, soon to be grandma, new big brother, new Grandparents, new parents, new aunty, baby announcements, or new baby projects, cards or whatever you want to make, but it must also include:-
Here's my take on the challenge. I haven't made a shaker card in ages and was thinking, baby's rattle, shake it, noisy, (I mean of course, a rattle that makes a noise and not that you rattle a baby to make a noise, although, it probably would make a noise!!)
So, anyway, I decided to use this little clown doll from our sponsor, Stitchy Bear and sit him/her on the edge of the shaker box. You can see how I made the shaker card HERE. I filled the shaker with tiny glass beads in pink, light pink and white. I've used pink gingham paper from a free paper pack called Sweet Wishes, from Papercraft Essentials magazine.
The slightly darker gingham backing paper came from an A5 Paper Pack by Papermania, Capsule Collection Red Hot Paper Pack 30 Lovely papers but only one sheet of each design, so I had to use some PinkPetticoat spots on the inside of the card along with more of the same pink gingham. (Links to free gingham on my sidebar or click here) I've 'stitched' around the card and the shaker box with a pink ProMarker and a pink glitter gel pen. (Did a bit of mock blanket stitching too!)

I've added some tiny heart buttons, I was going to add some velvety hands and feet brads, but changed my mind as they were all blue! (all my novelty baby buttons are blue!) I've added a rattle button, (all the way from the USA) which was blue before I coloured it pink with a ProMarker. There's also some tiny star gems, large heart gems and loads of Stickles glitter in Diamond and Fruit Punch.
The little pink embroidery flowers I've had in my stash for years, and have no idea where they came from. I was going to use brads in their centres, but preferred the tiny pearls, as they would go with a 'bingo' challenge I had on my list. (Fixed on with a Quickie Glue Pen!) The pink gingham ribbon I bought new just for this card. (from my local (not very) crafty shop) Go check out our sponsors Crafty Ribbon's gingham! (and other must haves!!)
I've also used Martha Stewart fern and lace punches and a Woodware scalloped circle and tiny flower punch inside the card.

The Font I used is called Alba You probably already have it, but if not just Google the name. I typed the sentiment into Insert WordArt and printed it out with a grey outline and pink inside and added the smaller Doll Clown. And that's about it I think. Pop over to Quirky Crafts to see what everyone else has come up with and join in!
This is on timer as I'm not here! Now then....any one seen my Chicken costume?

Hi Lyn,
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of fun elements on this sweet card. I've decided that I'm lazy when it comes to making cards! I have embellishments but don't use them much. I should try to remedy this real soon.
Happy Easter
