What's on your Worktop (Wednesday) #773 on A Thursday?

I'm sooo late, but you wouldn't know it if I didn't tell you, would you? No. So?? Sssh! I won't say a word! I'll just join in over on Stamping Ground and no body, arm or leg....will know! I started making these  tags with pockets and then tags to go on the side of your journals using the invisable paperclip idea, inspired by SevenPlazer's Mass Make March... and I was thinking making them to separate my stamps and dies...

I'd already made some dividers with tabs so I could find the die/stamp I wanted, (putting them into alphabet order) but then, when I bought a new set that didn't go with any of my categories, I'd make a new divider with a tab, but there'd be no gap for it...so, me thought if I could have 'removerable' tabs using the hiden paperclip idea, then I could just shifty them along a bit either way... but some happy mail arrived  and I started making little hole reinforcers...Then I got waylaid as the doctor's surgery rung and asked me to book another blood text. (had one on Tuesday) Why? said me. Something about my white blood cells or my red plates (???)  where a little 'abnormal'.  I understand abnormal, that's me at the best of times. 'Maybe you've not been well' sez the lady on the other end of the phone. Yes, a couple of weeks ago I thought I had really bad covid again (I didn't) Could I get a doctors appointment?? No. Anyway...

I'm wandering off topic... where was I? Oh, Yes. MadmassMake... and to answer Crafting with Jack's question from last week, the tabs are folded over to make a pocket that goes down the middle... and the others are folded like bags with  concertina sides. (Ideas from SevenPlaza) I just folded loads of pages up and glued down the sides (massmake you see) and haven't actually finished any yet. I found 'The Complete Guide to Calligraphy' book in a charity shop for a pound (my bargain of the week) and just love all the writing and pictures!

That's it from me! I have some cards to make. We weren't having an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend, as last year I bought/made loads of Easter things and no body came, they'd all gone off on holiday. But suddenly, yes, the kiddies want an Easter Egg hunt! So, hope you all had a Happy WOYWW!? And a Happy Easter! Thank you for stopping by!

It's Wednesday, and Here's A Freebie!

Here's This weeks Freebie!! A house in a tree, or a tree house. We were always making tree houses or camps in the woods, or dens out of haybales. One treehouse I remember was brilliant, as you could only get to it by swinging across from another tree! Kids today are missing out! Thank you for stopping by!

No,it's Not Tuesday, but it's still T stands for Tuesday!

I'm  going to back date this T for Tuesday  post, as, (as always) I'm very late! Maybe it will give me an extra day! (or not!) I didn't make it to Hobby Craft on Monday...again I took a wrong turning and ended up in the middle of nowhere. once home, the oven man turned up and made a splended job of cleaning my oven. Note to self. It is NOT a self Cleaning Oven! Then  yesterday, I mean, today, seeing I'm pretending this is Tuesday, after my blood test, I had another crack at setting off to Hobby Craft! And this time I went the right way! Seeing I hadn't had any breakfast, (that's why there's no pictures of that) there's a huge garden centre next to Hobby Craft, so I nipped into their cafeteria and had a hot Chocolate with toast and marmalade.

Then!! Across the car park to Hobby Craft... I knew what I wanted, and it was half price too, I could spend my birthday Voucher!Yay! But...could I find anything I wanted? No. Zilch, Nothing! No half price things left! I drove down the road to The Range, and again, nothing caught my eye in there either. That must be a first! Then I popped into Home Bargains and....spotted The Easter Bunny mug.... and later, once home, I did have another Hot Chocolate with squirty cream, as you can see in the top pictures...

Couldn't find any Kombacha last week, they keep moving it about!  But as you can see, I managed to get some this week. It doesn't last long! It's made with black tea leaves and green tea leaves...

Plus, there's always room for a bacon Toasty. That was my Tuesday...Have a great rest of the week! Pop over the Elizabeth and Bleubeard and join in! Wednesday's Freebie should be coming up next! Thank you for stopping by!

It's not Wednesday but It's on my Work Top #772

I know it's not Wednesday, but I missed out Wednesday coz it got me all 'bothered' and I decided, for reasons only known by Fairies and Unicorns, there would be no Wednesday this week!! So!! This week, it's What's On Lyn's Worktop Thursday! Now known as WOLWT...it has a certain ring to it. (But Stamping Ground sounds sooo much better!) Above is this months 'Die Cutting Essentials' magazine #114, that's just popped through my letter box, umm, only, two of the dies were missing. (I have two happiness's instead) I keep most of my magazines in these folders along with their matching downloaded papers and bits of die cutting ephemera and of course their 'freebies'.

Hopefully this'll be a very quick post. I just don't have the mojo. Got out of the house yesterday, was heading for Hobby Craft to spend my two vouchers, but somehow ended up, at The Works. This A2 Sketch Paper pad caught my eye for £1. And yesterday...I mean Tuesday, you may have caught a glimse of some tags. I used some of the hand written pages from one of these 'Diary of an Edwardian Lady' books (another bargain of last week)

And made this tab...not finished yet. I have flowers, somewhere, to add to the front as well as an eyelet and the tag insert needs some decoration too.
Blogger's still sending me around the block to load up pictures, but I'm getting used to it now, so hopefully, faster too! Now, if you want to see some real crafting pop over to Stamping Ground and join in! Thank you for stopping by!

T Always Stands For Tuesday!

It's still Tuesday here so, there's still Time for this weeks, T stands for Tuesday. So link up over on Altered Book Lover! Spring is on it's way! My Forsythia is in full bloom. I bought this for a £1 many many years ago, one long thin stick of a plant...twice it was eaten by rabbits (the pet variety...not the wild ones!) So I moved it here and then at least three more times I tried to dig it up again.  Anyway....below it's the boring breakfast. I'm not sure what happened to my wizzed up fruit, I've been putting a bit on my poridge instead of sugar. In the background, an empty tube of Pringles...I just can't bare to throw it into the recyling, I could turn it into a 'fairy Tower', or something...

Then there's my box of pills...at last I've had a text from the Doctors (and a letter today) saying I no longer needed to take the tiny cancer pills. Maybe now my hair will start getting thicker! Then there's the homemade Loganberry and Fruit Explosion Jam, you saw last week. I'm nearly halfway through that already. (Yum)... Then the little spider die cut... you see, this is why I never get anything done! I start doing useless things right in the middle of breakfast. My gardening gloves are there to remind me, if I don't start dithering about, I still have time to add more garden rubbish to my green garden bags before they are collected. Needless to say....I didn't make it. Next month, I have to start using my garden waste bin.

For lunch, I had a bacon sandwich, with added cheese and tomatoes. In the background you can see that once more I'd drifted off into dream land and made a tag (with side pocket) to go with a 'postcard' (made from postcard washi-tape)the bacon was a bit over done! I like it crispy!

My bargain of the week, for under a fiver are two more 'The Country Dairy of An Edwardian Lady' and another 'Curious Gardeners Almanac' so now I have some to cut up to make folios, tags, pockets, materboards etc and other  crafty stuff and one to keep. I really couldn't cut them up before.
This popped up on my phone today.. Ages and ages ago, I judged a little dog show... I mean...there were big dogs too!

And talking of dogs. Me, Dexter and Duke ignored the rain, and went out chasing balls! I came back covered in mud! Well, that's my Tuesday! What's your been like?! Pop over to Elizabeth and Bleubeard and join in! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy WOYWW!? #771. The Pile of Paper Grows!

Hello WOYWWERS! I know I did this post earlier...but it vanished! Where did it go!? Does it matter? Not a blinking sausage! I'll just type it out again, only this time, I'll try to get the smelling right....Blogger is still being a pain about loading up pictures. So I am a bit slow at getting things downloaded/uploaded to here.

Above, I'm in the Kitchen. I added more Stamperia papers, using Birthday money and Hobby Craft has sent me two £5 vouchers! Thank You! So I'll be popping over there at some point...

I made some little filos/folders a while back, but didn't like the fact that some of the papers are upside down, so have been trying to work out how to cover them with out wasting too much of that lovely paper... anyway now that I have some more papers and toppers, I'll have plenty to play with!

The very Top picture, my desk hasn't changed that much...I haven't tidied, just added to the pile..although I did manage to print out some more lables and used the card wrap-a-round from some pineapple tins (or it might've been tuna) There's some in that pile somewhere! (yep, right in the middle!)

Below are the labels I've done so far, just gotta ink them. I like to add them to the card, makes them look nice and sturdy, and if you hang them over the edge of a page there's still colour other than white on the back! Stacy's have come out a bit blurrrry this time but that's probably my printer, as the others are okay. I'll just print them out again. (and give the printer a good talking to!)

So that's it from me on this #771th WOYWW day! It was my birthday yesterday so scroll down or go here and email me if you'd like a freebie,  'Down The Dell' digi. Thank you for stopping by!

My Birthday Freebie For Everyone!

Waaaay back in 2022 I did a Birthday challenge, where everyone won one of my digis for entering and the winner received  a digi that nobody else had, or at the time couldn't have... all that will now change! I missed last year and was going to miss this year too but! I've changed my mind! Every one has the chance of owning this digi just by emailing me!! As the last challenge, this challenge will go on until April 12th, so plenty of time. This would've our 49th wedding anniversary. (I was 12) I'm sooo mad with him, coz he promised me we'd get to 50! Anyway, it's that easy! Just Email me, and I'll send you this 'Down in the Dell' digi. dragonsmoore at googlemail dot com

Don't forget...last weeks freebie is still HERE

T Stands for Lyn's Happy Birthday Tuesday!

Morning, Afternoon and Good Evening! It's Tuesday, Time for Tea... and other things  over on the Altered Book Lovers Blog, where you'll probably find, drink, food, mugs, spices and, other things! PluS! it's also my birthday today! We had a lovely family meal on Sunday, celebrating both Mother's Day and my zillionth birthday. I forgot to take any pictures. Shame. Never Mind. You'll just have to put up with my boring breakfast pictures! Or... last nights, tea time treat...

Francis and Sue came round, (famous for Airedale dogs and helping me out with John's bikes -MOTs Batteries and a few electrial jobs and the Garage) as I jokingly said, on FB, 'Save me some of that home made jam you've made!'....and they did! 'Loganberry and Fruit Explosion!' It's Yummy!!

In my 'staged' top picture, you can see this fabulous photo mix of family pictures, mostly of John from sis and bro inlaw.
Some of my lovely pressies came in this bag. It's lovely! Lovely Lovely! (Flowers and chocolates were wrapped inside.) But this bag??!
Lovely! Did I say lovely? It's sort of soft to the touch, and slighly embossed too, would make a fabulous Journal cover! Along with the little wooden die cut thingy!

Karen the cat lady, who owns the cattery, where Mr Jinx used to stay when we were away, sent me this lovely glass ball containly a pussy cat playing with butteries.

This weeks Kombucha drink, no suger and made with different teas, is Raspberry and lemonade... then later...the 'purrrrfect hot Chocolate with squirty cream!

I did say I probably wouldn't be doing a challenge for my birthday even though the last one was great fun, Umm? I've changed my  mind. There's going to be a freebie digi, but all you have to do is email me if you'd like it! I'm giving away the digi that was the prize to the winner last time. So only one person has even had that! More of that in the next post! Right, I've just got back from house sitting the Proff and his dogs, while Mrs Proff was out, so now I'm home I'd better go  do some food shopping. I'm suddenly hungry!! Have a great T for Tuesday Day! Thank you for stopping by

This Weeks Freebie. OddBall House.

Here's this weeks Wednesday Freebie...on a Friday! At last! I got waylaid by blogger again, still being mean and having to email myself to get the drawings into a different place to be able to upload here. It's a nightmare. Anyone else having problems loading images? Anyway, it's here now. If you can think of a better name, let me know in the comments. I was thinking of having a 'thing' for my birthday again next week...it's been a while...but??? Probaby not, seeing blogger's behaving so badly...it takes hours to get things done! And I'm really busy next week. So! Go HERE to download. If it's not there when you get there, just email me. I'll send it!

There is a coloured one.... go here...but I can only find the one with the watermarked...it'll turn up somewhere. So let me know and I'll send that when I find it! Have fun! Thank you for stopping by!

The Binder Masterboard#2Always a freebie

Okay guys...this has been sooo painful!! Trying to load these pictures up when blogger won't let me, is a nightmare... I think, what I'll have to do is sort the pictures out on my phone first and then email them back to myself because that seems to be only way that a choice on saving in 'download'  (which Blogger won't even consider down loading and goes straight to ERROR....) or there IS another button next to the download arrow that leads to 'Photos'  Trying to add it from the  Scan file on my laptop by using, 'open with photos' just brings up a completely black scene...so...give me a little time and I'll work it out and see if it will upload my two forever freebies. And then my normally  Wednesday one...(a bit later)

masterboard #2

It worked!!! See above. Pictures might not be too good though... so just click on it and save!! (that's if you want to!) Now... I'll try the other freebie! Yep, that's worked too! And now the real Wednesday freebie.....First...I'm gonna get me something to eat! Back later!!!

What's on- or even Under-Your Work Top Wednesday??#770

Morning WOYWWErs! Pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in!  I know. I'm a day late but Melt-Downs Happen! And blogger is still making it really hard to load pictures. This top picture was taken on my hall table, showing off the biggest masterboard ever. I'm using scraps, my coffee stained book pages and a 12x12 paper pad by My Minds Eye, which I bought in USA, at Ben Franklin Crafts, Seatle in September 2009, when Mason Rain was born! I thought it was a bargain- $24.99 down to $6.88 (whatever that is! a fiver back then?)
I usually wake up about 3 in the morning and watch a few Youtube videos, one being by Sevenplaz, (Episode One of Mass Make March) where she used all sorts of bookpages to make tags with side pockets. I used two front pages from two small freebie Village magzines. They come every month. I haven't decorated them yet. Margarth adds loads of things like flowers, insects, beetles, mushrooms etc, even people. (I need people!) Great fun! Go see!
I put this picture on Tuesday's post, thought I'd include it again, as a Temu package has just arrived (One big one, and one tiny one) I've added the above dies to the latest simular Temu ones, using their see-through packets with magnet. I love Happy Mail! Slowly, I've added most of my dies in these storage packages now. And!! I've beaten blogger, I can now add my pictures to 'Photo's on my laptop, and make them smaller as well as add titles on my phone too! Yay!
I did say on that Tuesday's post that I would show the ringbinder, which I bought from a charity shop filled with WH Smiths A4 pounched Pockets, once it was covered with that very large masterboard I'd made....It all went well, until I realised all the extra stickers and lables I added later, I'd put on upside down! Well, with that rectified, here it is...I've also added four corner protectors. Got those from Amazon.
One more thing, along with my large Temu package...they separated my small bag of magnets! A 3x3 tiny box in a bag, luckily it survived the journey!

Well, that's it! I've got quite a bit of that masterboard card/paper left...without the added lables. I might scan it later and add it as an always freebie...the 'real' freebie is on its way, honest|! Thank you for stopping by! Hope you all had a fabulous WOYWW!?

A Mod-Podge-gesso-matte gel medium and what and when- Answer from Jo!

What I have so far!

In answer to my question on her blog about different mediums etc, Jo (Let's Art Journal) added this in the comments on Tuesday. I'm sure like me, there's some folks baffled by what to use and when... I've learnt sooo much over the last few months watching You Tubers like Ceri The Crafter who spends time explaining, and tons of others that wizz though everything, I thought I'd add her answer down below so I always know whwer to find it! It might help those others too! Hope you don't mind Jo!

Thanks for visiting my blog, in answer to your question: - matte gel medium and Mod Podge are similar in that they are both adhesive/glue/sealant mediums, however a branded matte gel medium like Liquitex tends to be of a higher quality so it's a stronger adhesive and it's a better sealant, making it easier to add other wet mediums over the top (and remove them) e.g. edging with ink and then smudging ink with your finger. You can buy both Mod Podge and gel medium as "matt" or "gloss", I prefer matt as it takes away any shine and makes pages more uniform as it's less noticeable than gloss, I've heard Mod Podge is thicker and brush marks can often be seen with the gloss one. Gesso is totally different and is not an alternative for matte gel medium. I tend to use "white" gesso which is a white primer used for priming canvas, you can also purchase clear gesso and black gesso. I find Gesso is useful for sealing surfaces making it easier to apply paints/inks/pastels to my pages, also gesso acts as a resist so when colour is added over the top of gesso it can be removed. Hope this helps. Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

 Thank you again Jo!

T for Tuesday...and Blogger being Terrible!!

HeLlo TuesDay PeOples. And welcome to  T stands for Tuesday! Well, it is nearly tea time here, although I usually make myself a cooked meal, some call that, dinner...And because it's Tuesday it's  time to visit Elizabeth and BleuBeard over on AlteredBooklover where, apparently, it's very spicey! My boring breakfast wasn't so boring this morning, after being told months ago that I shouldn't have bacon very often (which I didn't) even though I cut off any fat and grilled it~still coudn't have it...(Meanies) Anyway, I found out, I can have bacon... so I'm having Bacon, with melted cheese and microwaved tomates in a white bread sandwich...no wheat and seeds and nuttie bread this time, oh lordy no, good old 'white' bread... I haven't had that for sooo long, I could cry. Instead, I took  picture  BUT!! Yes, there's always a BUT!!! Blogger's playing silly bummers, and it's doing that different 'thing' to add pictures again... where there's a cloud and you have to 'drag the picture or upload it, which doesn't work and keeps coming up as 'ERROR' all the time!

But! Another but!! If I find 'photos'  on my lap top, it WILL upload them...but I haven't added anything in there in ages...the laptop appears to self-select some pictures to go in there and I have no idea how to put any new ones in...Anyway.... with any luck by the end of the day or this post, I WILL do it. Paste and copying doesn't work...it goes super  's-l-o-w-'  when loading... I mean, last time it was hours! And it was over a week before it went back to normal.

So....here's a picture from 'photos' on my laptop. Daughter and family came down on Friday and we had a fish and chip supper...only... umm it actually looked far better than this... this being in 'photos' from about five years ago... and was certainly a lot cheaper!

One thing I know I'm not allowed to have and that's Coca-cola... original...I hate the diet stuff. But sis in law said to try this, fizzy, and no sugar! Kombucha- it's really nice too. I'm not keen on the ginger one though! And it's made of... black tea leaves, green tea leaves, hibiscus tea, plus lemon juice, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry flavourings. Well fancy That!

Sunday I joined family again and did a bit of shopping in the New Forest's Capital, Lyndhurst and this trunk/drawers design, which  looked like a pile of very large old books, caught my eye...the price? £295! never in a month of sunny sundays can I afford to buy that!(There's a super shop for cars in Lyndhurst that sells cars that cost more than my house!) Well, as you can see, I've found out how to save to 'photos' and load them to blogger, only I haven't worked out how to rejuice their size or add my Spyder's Corner to them yet. Never Mind. The world won't end...

My bargain of the week was from a charity shop in Lyndhurst. An 'as new' ringbinder filled with new WH Smith's A4 punched pockets, for £1.50. I use a lot of these, and the pockets themselves are normanly twice as much as that, so I really got the ringbinder for nothing!

I'm actually covering the ringbinder at the moment with the biggest masterboard cover ever... It didn't really need to be covered as it was new, but I fancied using up some scraps... I'll show you that finished tomorrow or on WOYWW. I put some stickers on it.. .and it turned out, I'd put them on upside down! Should be easy enough to peel off!  And last but not least, can't go to Lyndhurst without visiting the crafty shop... Emerald Crafts.

No bargains this time, although the hillside/clouds die-set was down from 14.99 to £5.00! So, I spoes that was a kinda of bargain. (Temu prices on dies are spoiling me!) And I needed another Stamperia Magic Forest paper pad. Well, that has to be it... my phone has now decided that it's not going to help me spell things. Being dylexic I use my phone all the time to help with smelling, spelling! So, I'll say bye-bye for now and see you over  on Alteredbooklover! Thank you for stopping by!
