It's a late cuppa for T on Tuesday!!

Oops! It's Tuesday and Time for Tea over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard's Alteredbooklover. Well, as you can see, same ol' same or breakfast, including of course a small pot of tea (a cold mug of tea) Elderberry and lemonaid tea cold drink, warmed chocolate chipped bun, boiled egg, with froggy just peeking over my mixed cereal with fruit. In the background crafting is still  going on. To the side an old magazing that I'm havesting pictures out of.

Now dinner was a bit different... A toasted Naan bread,  serve up with a Thai red Chicken curry and Jamine rice. I don't usually dump it on the place, but the saucepan was hot! I normailly make a circle of rice, which is what you;re meant to do to stop all the curry flowing over the edge of your plate! Honest, it tastes so much nicer than it looks! Today I managed to trim the hedge and cut both the front and back lawns. They're only little, but I'm still giving myself 5 stars for that. Pop over to Elizabeths to see what's going on over the pond! It's somebody's birthday! Off now to finish today's #gelyplaypostcard! coming up next!!!  Thank you for stopping by!

#gelypostcardplay , Number catch 22 Back again with another post card

Here's another postcard for CeriTheCrafter's July challenge, #Gelypostcardplay. This is number 22, which I've called Catch 22 and yes, I did fussy-cut 22 little fishies out from a geli-paint pull, which had a few  stencils added, including little teardrops or rain drops or drips, which, to my very small brain could all become something else!

So out came my new Posco pens, and I turned those little 'drip's into fish. I had a bit of luck with the sunset, even though it was in blue, as the edge under the sun where the roller caught it, looked like a distance sea scope. So I had to use it. There was going to be a small light house too, but I thought better of it.

The actually sea is strips of scrap card, smudged with ink and die-cut using some long cloud dies, turned the other way up, so to look like waves. They are only stuck down at the bottom, to give room to poke the little teardrop fish into. The crab was also stamped onto a geli-paint sheet, as too, the sign he holds and the 'sand' at the bottom.

There's also a tissue seahorse. He's sort of yellowy, with bits of red but he's soooo thin, he's blended in with the seaweed! Then last, but not least and in my view, is the Pièce de Résistance. The red onion net! That's stretched all the way around trapping all 22 fish; then backed onto another postcard. Job done! Tomorrow look out for number 23. I haven't a clue what I'm going to do for that! Thank you for stopping by! I think I might enter some ...

Challenges

digichoosday-anything-goes

The term gained currency as the title of a 1961 war novel by Joseph Heller, who actually wanted to called the novel, Catch 18. He referred to an Air Force rule whereby a pilot continuing to fly combat missions without asking for relief is regarded as insane, but is considered sane enough to continue flying if he does make such a request. Hence, Catch 22.

P.S. nothing to do with fish!

# Gelypostcardplay, number 21!

#Gelypostcardplay, number 21! hosted by CeriTheCrafter. I can't believe that I've actually got this far! Only 10 more to do!?? Then what?? I was going to do a Christmas in July challenge at some point. I have the cards! Still can, but must sort out my blog background. I have noticed many bloggers have lost their backgrounds, so it's just a case of getting it sorted, right?

This card started life as a bluurry mess that I rolled my painty brayer over a few times and when it was dry did some scribbles on it, scanned it and then printed it out. I spent most of the morning painting wooden keys, but they ended up far too big. So used die-cuts instead. I wanted to use a heart and got a few out of hibernation, but ended up using this penny spinning heart. As you can see I didn't use it for that because the 'penny' would've got caught on the other things I was planning to add.
The background inside the heart is a geli printed pinkish red tissue paper, the posh tissue paper that was in an Amazon parcel a few weeks back.
(I wish I knew what it was called coz I love it!) stamped with text and keys and fixed to another card under the top card. (That's because I was still thinking of making it into a penny spinner/slider card) The 21 was die-cut from a tiny bit of gold geli printed magazine page and the rest was just glued where it fitted!

I edged it  all in gold and that's about it! There's a bit of white gel-pen used and a bit of scribbling done and I just signed it with my five legged spider this time. Catch you tomorrow with number 22 for #gelypostcardplay, Thank you for stopping by!

#gelypostcardplay, Card Number 20-Just A Few Butterflies...

Evening Crafty peoples! I'm late with my card number 20 for CeriTheCrafter's July challenge, #gelypostcardplay. And why am I  late? It was my printers fault, my new one, just wasn't having any today. All the bells and whistles were working, so I kept pressing print, and nothing happened, except two sheets of stuff all about the printer shot out. (????) So I turned it off and on a couple of times... all I wanted was the last bit of the wording for my card... 'Believe, wishes can come true', (I wished the flippin' printer would work!) Anyway, at last it did, so I nipped off to finish the card not thinking what the printer was up to... yep... it printed that sentence out, nine times!

This geli-printed postcard started life as a  wishi-washi blue that I'd stamped or pressed  a wooden shape of a butterfly into the paint. And because I still can't find the embossing folder I want to use for my 'Surf's Up' card, decided to play with this instead.

My Posca pens arrived today, Yay!! (Ceri's fault of course, I had to have more) Really quick service from Hobby Craft, more colours and different nib sizes. So I had a play with them to brighted that shaped butterfly up a bit. The butterflies  down the side are a  from a magazine; diecut from a paler wishi-washi bluey/pinky scrap. The leaves/branches in the corner are diecuts from more geli-printed paper.

I also had a diecut for the little catterpillar, but it was too small, so I drew that one. (on geli-paper) He's saying, 'I wish I could fly.' And of course, we all know one day his wish will come true. The very tiny butterflies disappearing into the blue are from Katy Sue.
I went around the edges in white and purple pens, plus a bit of Distress O
xide Tim Holtz Blueprint Sketch. And that's it! Look out for number 21 tomorrow. Maybe some keys? I was thinking along the lines of Catch 22 for number 22...(the novel) which was originally called Catch 18... (That's why writers need agents!) Thank you for stopping by!

#GelyPostcardPlay Number 19- You do blue

Yep, Hedgie sez, 'You Do Blue!'  July 19th so that means, here's No: 19 of #Gelypostcardplay, a month long challenge engineered by the one and only CeriTheCrafter!

This time I've used one of my own Digi's...Hedgie with his Sunflower, only of course, it's blue and not yellow. Like everything in my craft room, (and at the moment, in the kitchen as well!) this fell out of a page in a file straight onto the floor, so I had to pick him up. Crafty little hedghog, he knew I'd start wondering how I could use him on my next postcard. Was still thinking of 'Surf's Up'...but couldn't find the 3D embossing Folder I waited. (It's under that heap in the corner probably!)
So, I set about drawing all those little leaves and petals and storks stems, onto Geliprinted paper with a Shapie, cutting them out, gluing them together,
but they weren't enough.... needed something else and what just happened to fall off a pile of stuff...a piece of fern tissue paper. Perfect!
I placed the ferns over a greeny/yellowy/gold/white spotted, leaf stamped post card, then placed Hedgie to one side, where it looked like I could make him a 'path.' I stamped his watering can on another piece of gelipainted tissue and then set about adding all those flowers. The number 19 is the tiniest diecut number set I have and kept sticking to everything except where I wanted it! I also used a white gell pen, Posca pens,
(because of Ceri, I've now ordered some different sizes and more colours!) a black very thin brush pen, there's even a tiny bit of Lawn Fawn in there! Oh! and the bee! My white gel pen wouldn't work on the card sooooo, I cut the bee from a packet of Poppy Seeds, so the red in the background sort of blended in! The words were done on my laptop. You do blue! I covered everything (and not just the postcard!) in decopatch. I bought it a while back, when it was half price at Hobby Craft. And that's me done!! Google #Gelypostcardplay, and see all the YouTube fun! Thank you for stopping by

#gelypostcardplay- number 18. More butterflies

Back again with another Postcard for Ceri the crafter's July challenge, #gelypostcardplay! This is number 18...is was no: 17 but I didn't like it... so I used a rose with butterflies instead. Seeing I was running late I decided to revamp and use it anyway. Same as number 17 with the masterboard background. (See! If I'd never found Ceri, I would've never ever made a masterboard!)  I edged it in gold embossing power and zapped with my heat gun.

Then fussy-cut a flower wreath from a magazine... but that's when I decided the flowers were too small, so I just cut them up and arranged them willy-nilly on the card, then added the butterfly stamps, making sure you could still see  those eggs... But by that time, I'd given up the will to live and started what ended up being the new/real no:17.

Later. Much later. I was thinking it needed a bird. In steps Tim Holtz's bird cage die and on goes one blackbird. I edged the card again with ink and a Promarker. Then made another stamp, by cutting out a small rectangle piece of creamy-pink geli rolled tissue and fixied that to a real stamp, so I still had the white bits. In my pile of mess craft stash, was a silver number sheet so added the number 18...plus a few inky postage rings and wiggley lines. Number 18 done! Phew!

So, number 18, the ex number 17, didn't turn out too bad in the end! That's it from me! Go and have a look at some of the other fabulous makes at #gelypostcardplay  or just google it! Thank you for stopping by!
