WOYWW 600+1

 Yes! It's Wednesday again! The weeks go whizzing by! Thank you to the fabulous Julia for making all this  possible. Come and join in, just click on Stamping Ground! Last week was our big Day, crafters from everywhere were all going to have a Zoom meet up! I had my new lap top all ready up and running and then poor Mr Jinx, the cat, was suddenly very violently sick! 🙀 Basically he couldn't poop. So off we went to the vets for some  Laxatract... He slept for a whole day and didn't eat;  he's ok now but I didn't remember until Sunday morning that I'd missed the Zoom meet up! 😕 And I really was looking forward to 'meeting' up with you all. (Hmm, Perhaps it's about time I changed my picture, seeing I'm nearly a hundred and ninety-four...)

 

Here's my desk for this week...I do seem to fill it with everything  I need all at the same time. I wanted to make a box for a mug. The one on the left was my first attempt...I had a huge sheet of red card but kept measuring wrong and every bit of red card was now too small so ended up having to make the lid in thick, very dark green card,  and ended up being too small. I'd measured wrong again) Luckily I found another bit of green, and that was fine and once finished it fitted ! Yay! I quickly grabbed the said mug from under the Christmas tree and ripped off the badly wrapped Christmas paper, happily laughing to myself and thinking, 'After all that, I bet it doesn't fit!' I was right...it didn't! 

 

 Well, I wasn't going to give up and the two lids made a nice little flat box! But I really wanted to make a mug Box. So, I turned Sam Calcott's YouTube Video on again and worked out, yes! Me, really me, worked out how to make a bigger box! So the one with the holly paper is my (all afternoon) effort! Big enough for the mug and chocolates and more! And the smaller red one will probably house a smaller mug! Sam put holes on the side of the lid for the ribbon to threadle through, but I decided not to press my luck with making holes and in anycase, if I use the ribbon there, the beads and leaves won't go through. I've also lined the inside to help make the box stronger.  The freebie papers and the chipbpoard shapes, came with a magazine years ago. Now to decide on which ribbon to use and what tag.  In the picture below is what's left of eight 3D Christmas box cards I'd been making on Monday. They were another freebie from a crafting Magazine. They were a bit flimsey, so I added some 160gsm  paper to the back.

 Here's this weeks freebie, they should've been last weeks, but...well, I lost 'em in the ether  between the garden shed, John's ManCave, and my craftroom! But!!! I have a new laptop! (Happy Christmas Lyn!!) at this moment I'm in my sitting room playing with it! Now... will it let me grab the digi from my file and put it in here??? Right, I'm going in! YAY!!!  Sucksess... (sorry, no spell check, being dyslexic, this is how I work... spell it in my way, then go back and correct it later)

So...hope you are all well! I'm as happy as a dungbeetle in cowpoo! I have a new Laptop for Christmas... early Christmas pressie! And it's doing weird things to this old steam generated Laptop of mine, they're in sync. Thank you Hubby! xx. 

I have been making cards... The Stage Card from last week is nearenough finished and I'll post that sometime soon. Then I had this thing to make a card, which needed acetate. Could I find where I'd put loads of it?! No. As you can see, I had a good look for it... the floor's worse! (Well, it's invisable, isn't it!?) And then this Peek-a-boo card come up on SamCalcott's youtube video on my phone and I just had to make it. There was a lot of swearing coz I couldn't get the measurements right but then, I never can. (My trimmer 'bows') The card opens to show a different picture on the inside so I might video the opening and closing bit later on my next post after the freebie.
 (I seem to have lost a picture...) blogger's really in a silly mood today, and won't put my pictures where I want them!  ah! Here it is...

 

 

On the shelf you can just make out my WOYWW badge and wooden thingy from way waaaaaaay back!  The wooden Merry Christmas Stag hanger is in the middle of being painted and then glittered (from The Works)

We put up the outside Christmas lights last week, (a few in the road have followed suit) and yesterday the tree is up with its first set of lights...no ornaments yet tho, but, I have my new Laptop to play with! (oh...and the garden waste  green bags to fill ready for Thursday. (We have bags, not bins here, in The New Forest)  So, I guess, that's it from me. Potty Puss Just For You Card

Here's a little card I made so I could-(whisper this bit) send some money through the post after buying something from a crafty friend, so it's a 'Just For You' card I guess! (PayPal kept jumping to 'someone' else and I didn't want to use that!) The last time I used this image, from Docrafts/Trimcraft, was about hundred years ago (seems like) it was the card of the week/month over on the (old) Trimcraft forum thingamejig.  (I won some goodies) I've used my Promarkers again on the pussy cat and the pot etc. I think I have a 'thing' about pots. I started painting all my garden pots in the first lockdown... and I've just finished another card with lots of pots...I'll show you that one another time! Don't wanna go too potty! The little bird house (stuck on the ribbon) I pulled off a ribbon/string/beads on a roll thing from the pound shop

Here's the inside... liked the look with the wild flowers all along the bottom, then added a circle to write a message.

 And here's the back of the card. I coloured this little cat with mainly  a ginger Promarker and stuck him so I could use him as a pocket for the money. I usually put a 'money' pocket inside the card but didn't want to spoil the 'wild flowers' paper! Say Cheese! It's a Star Card with Wallace and Gromit!

 I've finaly got around to making a card, this one's for my Sis-In- Law. She has two cats, one's called Wallace and the other one's not. But she does walk dogs, hence...dogs. I was watching a You Tube tutorial on how to make this type of card and using these same papers and I thought, I have these papers somewhere!  ( and half a Ton of paper later...I found it!) The big bones came from somewhere else  Paper Crafter mag I think and then I found bits of the Wallace and Gromit ones so.... it all came together nicely. Good Job, I say! But a BIG thanks goes to Sam Calcott Here's a Link to her You Tube video.

Another bit of that Papercrafter mag paper in this picture above, (under the card) but I didn't want to cut into that and just go with what I had left... I still had loads of toppers, so made use of them.

Sorry about the light. I have found my day light lamp! It's been in hubby's garage for the last six years, covered in goodness knows what, but without the Day-Light light in it. He says, I need a new one... Christmas is coming! Wowhoo!

Here you can see ...when you open the card stand it on the points of the 'Star'. Its feels a bit like having a gin without having a gin!) The bits inside were just off cuts and the lacy bit is just paper I'd cut out using a punch ages ago, which I found lying around. (almost as it wanted me to use it) Well, that's it then! I'm going to see if I can find a few challenges, there used to be a blog that listed them all, is that still going? Meanwhile, in the words of Wallace... 'Time for a cuppa' and 'Anyone for cheese?' and 'Have A Great Day!'

It's WHAT'S On Your Worktop WEDNESDAY?! #599

 Morning Everyone! Hope you're all fit and well... but as long as you're well. I'm definitely not fit; if I get down on my knees these day it takes a month of sundays for me to get up again! Anyway! It's Wednesday again so, Go HERE to jump to Julia's 'Stamping Ground' and join in! 

My desk hasn't really changed a lot...it's still just as messy, with more mess added. One of my crafty friends has been selling off a few of her crafty thing and I noticed she had the Tattered Lace Stage Card die set. Well, I've been trying to make sence of it since it arrived last week. No video's or how to do's on the Tattered Lace site or anywhere that I can find on Google. I've found pictures but no instructions. If I glue it where it needs a bit of glue you can't fold it into  an envelope and if I don't glue it, the poor thing does the splits! Ouch! (deja vu) Thicker card is needed I hear! In the picture the coloured card on the right is my first attempt...the 'wooden' one is my second or third... (one went in the bin)

There's flowers and pots  (I love the pots) and leaves and whirly signs and words and banners and loads of other things that I can use on other makes so, all's good. But if you know, let me know too! 

 There's a peek at this weeks freebie, not quite finished on the left. Promarkers for colouring in the pots. (didn't like them  cut out of coloured paper) I wanted a darker brown...what's the darkest brown Promarkers do? I don't think I've got it  but  what I have will do!

 I won't go on about me having problems getting his scanned image from the scanner in Hubbie's Mancave in the garden, to my craftroom in the house again because, well, who cares! Unless you really do want to know how many slugs I trod on?!(It was dark) Anyway, hubby brought him into me on one of those plug in stick things, and found him saved in 'Lyn's Fonts'. Odd? and to me, he looks very small. (I know! Gnomes are small!) He was also scanned in colour (making him look grey) and not in greyscale so I souped him or, should that be beefed him up on my wacom and he doesn't look too bad now. But, if you find he's not quite right, that's the gnome I mean, not hubby, let me know, so I can sort him out!  Thanks for stopping by!
