Morning Everyone! Hope you're all fit and well... but as long as you're well. I'm definitely not fit; if I get down on my knees these day it takes a month of sundays for me to get up again! Anyway! It's Wednesday again so, Go HERE to jump to Julia's 'Stamping Ground' and join in!
My desk hasn't really changed a lot...it's still just as messy, with more mess added. One of my crafty friends has been selling off a few of her crafty thing and I noticed she had the Tattered Lace Stage Card die set. Well, I've been trying to make sence of it since it arrived last week. No video's or how to do's on the Tattered Lace site or anywhere that I can find on Google. I've found pictures but no instructions. If I glue it where it needs a bit of glue you can't fold it into an envelope and if I don't glue it, the poor thing does the splits! Ouch! (deja vu) Thicker card is needed I hear! In the picture the coloured card on the right is my first attempt...the 'wooden' one is my second or third... (one went in the bin)
There's a peek at this weeks freebie, not quite finished on the left. Promarkers for colouring in the pots. (didn't like them cut out of coloured paper) I wanted a darker brown...what's the darkest brown Promarkers do? I don't think I've got it but what I have will do!
Hope you've all had a brilliant crafty week. Take care! Stay in doors and wear your drawers and above all.. Stay Safe!! Thank you for stopping by. See you over on 'Stamping Ground!' Don't forget, it's the BIG #600 next week! My Laptop can't make it, but my phone will definitely have a go!

Good luck making heads and tails of the die set and how it's supposed to work. Looks good already but not if you want to post it. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteI think that card was worth the blood sweat and tears, it’s really lovely and the pots are the star of the show. I smiled at your make do and mend attitude with the brown pens, I’m doing much the same with my embroidery floss, going totally against what the pattern says but I’m enjoying the process of choosing my own colour way!

Hi Spyder, sorry no help with how to either. Guess it will be trial with error! Erk. Maybe do in miniature first? Have you thought of emailing “tattered lace” they might have a PDF or such on it. I think I’d do that.
ReplyDeleteMm I might be on mobile too if I join in and can figure it!
Thanks for sharing, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x

That happens to me too, I get something and then have to spend a load of time sorting out "how it works!' Sometimes I never DO figure it out. Looks like you are on your way.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Hi Lyn. These big die sets are all exciting and sound brilliant - but, oh boy, do they take some working out! I wish you well in your quest! What you have done is looking good, though - but yes... how on earth do you put it in the mail?
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Sorry, haven't a clue about those dies and wouldn't know where to start! I hope you manage to sort it out on your own. I'm surprised there aren't any YouTube videos about it because there are videos on practically anything you could imagine doing! Thank you for visiting - sorry you were having problems on my blog. I got both your comments so no problem there. Glad you like the new/old box - I may never get round to painting it but it would be fun, I think!

I hope you sort out the die! great desk. Helen #3
ReplyDeleteHi Spyder, have you tried a You Tube search- I guess you probably have. I do have a lot of Promarkers, but not here on the sofa where I'm doing my visiting, so can't off hand recall what their darkest is. Have you tried adding some black to yours? Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X
ReplyDeleteI think your pots look great! They look very realistic! Glad you are getting to enjoy your craft goodies! Hope you have some luck finding what you need to use your die!
ReplyDeleteLove those pots, is the darkest brown Walnut by Promarker? You could always test some colour mixes of red, blues & yellow/orange to find the required brown, i'm sure you will find the blend your looking for. Lovely makes all the same a very appealing plant pot.

Hope you get the die figured out. Sounds interesting. Have a great week!

I do think that sometimes they could include more info with dies as they are not always that simple to put together when they have several ieces to deal with. Loving your busy desk too. Wishing you a creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x17x
ReplyDelete“Stay indoors and wear your drawers” ?? That’s a new one on me - laughing- enjoy your week and a belated happy WOYWW Angela #25
ReplyDeleteI hope you are able to figure out the die! I love your flower pots! Thanks for the amazing freebie!

Sorry I’m late Lyn, but draws firmly on, so all good! I’m sorry I can’t help with the stage die...someone somewhere will. Does it help if I say that I love the pots too, aren’t they great!
