Morning! WOYWW? #598

I'm multi-tasking. I'm typing this, catching up on Tim Holtz video's- (sorry if I get distracted and stop typing) stroking the cat, as he keeps trying to sit on my computer... "get off Jinx!" (Feed Me Feed Me! Putting stuff away and... trying to clear a space to my workbench, taking photos; because it's....(The title gives it away...) What's On Your Worktop Wednesday. Come and join in over on The Stamping Ground!

First picture above; is the wreakage left after making a birthday card for sis-in-law but at the same time I'd been making little  mini books from one sheet of 12x12 paper. (plus a few scraps and some 6x6 paper pads I've had for years!)  I want to make the books smaller. The little book/box behind them in photo below, is really a kind of secret 'book' that is supposed to hold little books inside it, but I haven't downloaded the papers for those yet.

And the next picture, (this is after I tidied up and pushed everything out of sight) to show you two of the little books I'd made this week. They have little pockets, that will have more little tags inside.

I think they're rather cute, and very moreish to make! I'm definitely going to make tinier ones to go inside the 'book' behind them. And maybe tiny glittery Christmasy ones too, to go on the Christmas Tree. Which!! (and I can't believe this! Hubby must be slightly off his grumpyself, and wants to get the decks up early!) garden Lights are Up!! Last picture of the little books below.

There is a freebie this week, if I can get it loaded! Poor computer's really really slow!  It'll either be the post before or the post after this one...It's called, 'Gnome Walking his Frog...'

We are still in lockdown, although it doesn't feel like the first lockdown as there's people and traffic scooting about the same as 'usual'.  So, Stay safe! And I'll see you all later over on The Stamping Ground!

  3. i love the little books and the idea of one even tinier is really appealing. Will it have pockets too?
I think people have given up on Covid rules and for some life goes on as normal - maybe why we are not seeing a dent in figures. It is a worry.
I am with hubby, get the tree up - get some music on and brighten the days up. We had a gluhwein the other day to try to cheer us up - maybe another one later today!

  4. How fortuitous! I am making tags too and looking for ideas to house them - something more than just a book ring. Liking yours a lot. I have to dash to the treadmill for my morning session but I will hover here so I can expand those photos (I hope) to get a closer look when I get done. Lovely stuff!

    Happy WOYWW!

  6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything on your desk! I want to get into more traditional mini books as well - got so many nice papers to use and so far I've been just stroking them. We're going to put up the Christmas tree this weekend - I think last year we did it even earlier! We all need something to cheer us up on these cold dark winter's nights - and if we can make the season last longer, why not? Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #20

  7. Mmm...I think you're right, not sure some people are taking the Lockdown seriously but they will when a member of their family gets it and then it's too late sadly. Anyway...loving the little books they are great and the box looks gorgeous too. You asked me a question which I think refers to the box. I like to sand them down a bit first though I actually didn't do it with this one and now I'm regretting it but it will do. Next job is to add the sealant and I use Gesso for that and in this case Black sometimes I do a thin coat and then a second coat but you'll know when you start to apply it, I just think you get a better coverage. There are some parts inside the box that I haven't done yet as I might line it with something but not sure yet. After that I'm ready to add the stencil on the front and add the other bits to decorate it. I'll let you see it when it's finished and if you need any other info just ask. Sending woyww hugs, Angela x14x

  9. I think there’s a lot of people wanted to get the decs up early this year - a bit of happiness and spark lines after the craziness that 2020 has been! Go for it and enjoy is my advice, lol!! Those little books are so cute and look very intricate to make, I admire your patience!

  11. I love the organisation in your room, and I love your mini-books! They look really fun to make. Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you enjoyed the kitties! As for making the tiny carpets for sale, that's a no-no for me (too much work and you wouldn't get enough for it) and making things for sale always takes away the joy of it for me. I'm happy to share the designs and people can make their own if they like. I do hope you will be inspired to break out the cross stitching stuff and do some yourself!

  14. Everyone not taking the lockdowns seriously is why we continue to have these lockdowns. It’s so frustrating. But good for us crafters we always have a project we can work on. Love your mini books! Dorlene #31

  17. The little books really are gorgeous, I can see why you would enjoy making them. I'll add it to my list of 'to do' things. I agree about lockdown - it's as if half the country is in a different country! I can't understand folk - we all want it over and done with, but the actions of some are just prolonging the agony for everyone. I will be waiting until December to put the decorations up, but can understand people putting them up earlier this year - the season to be jolly and all that! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #22

  20. Some people seem to think that this virus is nothing at all, so unfair on those taking it responsibly! Let's just hope that we are allowed to see family at Christmas!
Just LOVE those books.. what a labour of love!

  22. Love the book box and little books, great way to use up some papers and ends, they look wonderful and I love the idea of a couple of sparkly ones hanging on the tree. I know what you mean about this lockdown, it’s too weak to work in my opinion.
