Morning and Welcome to WOYWW?!

I've made it! Another week at sharing our crafty maddness! Pop over to the Stamping Gound and join in!

I've been messing about on my crafty workbench but, there's not much to see. Mainly because, I've been crafting in the kitchen and, on the ironingboard in the living room. I've never worked out why they're called ironingboards. I'm making a Double Z New Home card. I'll post it later.

Spyder's Corner

I still haven't worked out where the background to my blog has gone. (Maybe the powers that be think it's about time I learnt to do my own backgrounds??) This is what's it's meant to look like. (Above picture) So? Who has swiped it, I asked myself.  No. Self doesn't know.

Anyway-desk. (sorry about the light, still haven't found my daylight lamp) I've been trying to make a 3D sleigh from a die cut. Ok yes, turn the cut out die round the other way, I hear you say, yes, but its all not nice and smooth on that side it's all flat and uninteresting. I ended up just squashing it between two bits of thick card and running through my BigShot to get rid of the nice beveled edge on the rim of the die cut. Mmm, well, it's not too bad.

This is the practise go with a flimsy bit of card, the other sleighes in the back ground are layered up three or four times, so are lot stronger. Just working out what size to do the inside body bit. I'm hoping to fix it as the centre piece of an exploding box. Personly I think it's way over my head, but I'll give it a go!

Still colouring the gnomes and the pengiuns and have managed to do reverse stamping with the penguins, (I usually do it in  Word) so I'm quite pleased with that. I also have the dies for these pengiuns and I know how to die-cut the  one facing the wrong way, so with any luck I should have something to show soon! (Hey, note to brain, just a thought, if I draw around the sleight die...??? and...? I'll try it!)

Don't forget there's a freebie Pussy Cat Santa Paws below this post. Have a great week....and as we keep telling our slightly mad cousin, Lady Pam, who we love to the moon and back...'Stay in Doors....and wear your draws!'  (Weelll, she keeps nipping out in her underwear! Or just her nightie!) See you later over on WOYWW?! Stay Safe!!

  1. Lol at Pam! I think we’ve all become used to being dressed down a bit but that’s taking it to the next level! The colouring is great on those penguins, they’re cheeky little chaps aren’t they?
Just so you know, the link on Stamping Ground takes you to last week’s post, so you may not get as many visitors. I came the long way round to visit!

    1. Well, she is needly 90 now! She has carers but for the first lock down we weren't allowed to go see her. All the family have been sending her videos of our lock down adventures. This time its so much harder to make them interesting!

    1. YES! Me too! This morning I wanted to get a photo of my dad on face book as it would've been his birthday. Agh! My old scanner would've done it in a jiffy, sorted. I took ages. At last I thought I'd saved it...but then couldn't find it. GGGRRR Hubby then said. 'Why don't you just take a photo of the picture?" ummm? Dah..That worked! My brain is so small!

  4. Hi Spyder, colouring looks great. It's always a bit of a head do-er trying to figure out reversing things, I agree, so well done on getting it figured out. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X

  5. Nice Christmas projects - I like that coloured image of the stacked gnomes. It's strange how your blog background just disappeared - I'm sure it's still there somewhere but perhaps a Google update blocked it from loading? Happy #597! zsuzsa #21

    1. Well I know the header from the same set it saved on my computer...but I don't think I ever saved the background...so I'm thinking where I downloaded it from has now gone taking with her all her freebie blog papers. Its set to take a black page, so if I make my own (haha) It's have to be pretty much all black...I'm not sure!

    1. I remember it did it years ago, remebering that I had to go and get it again and that time I did save the header to my computer, which I think, is why that's still there. I have a feeling that I may have saved the code, but if the site's now closed that had it in the first place, I don't know if the code will work...just gotta find it! and that's as clear as mud, isn't it!? It'll keep my mind off of Telly news!!

  10. Hi there. I am so sorry I didn't return your visit last week. I was so pleased to see you back!!
Your sleigh reminds me of a class I did few years ago. All ladies made a sleigh it was fiddly but they were impressed lol. The penguins are so cute. Take care and stay safe. Anne x 12

  11. I found you before the correct link thingy hee hee.. Your not the only one who's been known to use the ironing board for #otherthings.. My sewing machine fits very nice on mine!! Yes my outer edge background went missing when blogger retired some templates, lucky for me mine was black so it just makes my page look wider in full view. Nice little sleigh building up on your desk, hope you can get it to do what you want it too you'll be so pleased with you when you do. Happy WoywW Tracey #8

    1. She's nearly ninety now and just as mad, only now some of the things she gets up to can be a bit dangerous!! During lockload we aren't allowed to see her but she has carers that call in to cook and clean and make sure she's ok. and we send her videos of our lockdown adventures!

  13. Hi, where can the background be! I'm sure you will find it. Blogger keep messing with stuff and give us no idea how they've changed it and we're left trying to work it out. My posts all went to code the other week and it was only with the Blogger help center that I managed to sort it and it was actually really simple once I knew what to do and I'm sure this problem will be the same. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x

    1. I quite like the old code, cos you could assess it quite easily and just change things. making sure yu had the codes right! The font sizes were my best hate. I like them big, not small. You don't appear to get anything other than very small or large now!

  17. I love your little sleigh - I have that die and have always had to glue several pieces of card together to get it stand up, but it's worth the fiddly effort! Great little penguins too.
Hope you have a great week,

    1. I usually use Collall, I used to used their photograph glue as you can remove it easily. Then I tried their all purpose glue and it actually helps make card stronger! On the practise slieghs with very thin card I used Cosmic Shimmer flake and glitter glue, and it really stuck, to the mat, to my hands and fingers and anything else near by!!

  18. I THOUGHT something was different.... Your little sleigh is very sweet. I think glue issues have plagued crafter for all time. I recently stared using Tombow mono extra strong and I have to say the dispenser is fab and it works a treat!Look forward to seeing the final product!

Happy WOYWW! Sorry for the late visit - got sidetracked.
