Hi everyone. This is the third DT card I made for this fortnights 'Snow' challenge over on Quirky Craft's Challenge blog. The image, little Sophia making Angel Wings, was kindly supplied by our sponsors, Paper Pretties
The freebie spotty paper I downloaded years ago (Luckily I write on all my printed out downloads to remind me where I found them and where they've been saved on my computer...ohh I sound sooo organized! (not!) otherwise I'd never remember!) from Free Digital Scrapbooking called Muted Spring Painted Blue Dots and is still available. HERE (stay awhile, click on their sidebar to find more freebies)
First I printed the image out twice leaving enough 'white' below one to act as the 'snow' and also printed the 'Let It Snow' sentiment under it. I used the wavy insert in WordArt. (You can make it 'wave' a lot more)
The Font is a freebie it's called Thread Fun, and you can download it HERE (or Google the name)
I coloured the image with ProMarkers. Covered the top half of the card with the spotty paper then the white paper with the image, after cutting it into a 'snowy' shape along the top. Glued it in place with PhotoGlue.
I cut out the other image as close to the edges as I could, cutting off the scarf and hat trimmings (as you'll be able to see them from the image below it) I fixed this over the first image with silicone glue so it pops up a bit, added a smidgen of Liquid Appliqué to act as the 'hollowed' out snow. Here's a Liquid Appliqué Youtube video.
The gems, tree and snowflakes are from my stash. Lastly I added a touch of Stickles glitter and the die cut corners.
You can just see a pair of mittens inside the card, also from Paper Pretties.

I hope your Monday went well. I managed to get through the day without forgetting to do too many things...although I did forget I'd been invited to watch a Nativity play staged at our local primary school. Luckily after a reminding phone call, I nipped round to watch it. Sooo different from when my two were doing their Nativity plays. The story was told in the eyes of all the animals that lived in or around the stable...so of course there were cats, dogs, mice, cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, camels, pigs, doves and cockrels and.... well you get the picture!! No octopuses though! That's it for now! My last Quirky 'snow' DT card coming up next....not your usual Christmas card! Thanks for stopping by!
