My Five Favourite (plus!) Cards of 2011

Debby from A Scrap Journey, is up for a challenge, to chose her five favourite cards of 2011. With sooo many gorgeous cards, no wonder she found it so hard! I doubt very much that I'll have that problem! Next year, her challenge will be to chose ten favourites! If you haven't found Debby yet, go now and be mind-blowingly gob-smacked by her wonderful creations. She is one very talented lady! Why not sort out five of your favourite cards and join in! Out of the cards I made this year, here are....
Image by Mo Manning, using paper's from a Craft Magazine and some sticky tape to stop carpets from slipping! As soon as I saw Mo's image and knew what papers I wanted to use, shame they were lost in my 2008 achieves, so glad I found them!
I'm also entering this card into...
Mo's Digital Challenge-My Favourite Mo project of 2011
(Click the picture for original post)

I Love Bugaboo Images. It was very hard to chose which Bugaboo card to be my favourite. Here I used Pink Petticoat Spotty papers, own background and coloured with ProMarkers- This was May, Friday the 13th, the day I cracked my tooth on chocolate from the fridge! Today? Waiting for bridgework to be done in the New Year!

Nice Ice Mice
I love House Mouse, they are just too darn cute...I couldn't decide between this card and two another House Mouse cards, they were both green and cream...and this one, so I closed my eyes and pressed delete...this card won!

I made this birthday card for John's sister Deb, as she is cat mad. I was very pleased how the flowers turned out along the bottom...seeing I first had them going down the side~and the card opening the wrong way!

It turns out I have two favourites for last place... I can't decide because they are sooo different. This Penny Black Baby card, which I made using up scraps and....

Walk Like An Egyptian
this Egyptian card. I feel it's a bit of a cheat, it's as though it made it's self! The papers are lovely, inlaid with gold and that gorgeous gilded gold card was just perfect as a die-cut. The black band down the side is self adhesive. The tassel was recycled from a bought card. Coloured with Promarkers...it's like walking in to a tomb!
I honestly didn't think I'd find five cards of my own I liked! But looking back, some of them weren't too bad, were they!? Aw....I just had to add one more...

I feel I shouldn't, seeing it's one of my own digi's but I really did love how it turned out. I think it's the bright colours, the papers and those cute school brads that really make it, rather than my drawing! He has glossy accents on his glasses to make them look real. I really liked the blackboard. It was done on the computer, just simply, printed in white on a black background.
Well, those were my favourite five, (plus two!) of 2011...what's yours!?!

Emma and Tom's Christmas Card.

I made this Christmas easel card for Tom and Emma a little while ago, finished it about five minutes before I gave it to them...so still a bit sticky with the glitter! I've had it in draft and forgot all about it, aw, poor little card! Anyway, all the challenges I had lined up for it are most likely over by now, which is a shame, I do love House Mouse! Not sure what this image is called as it was a swap from quite a while back. Love those mices! They're just like me and hubby when we decorate our tree, John on his back tossing his balls in the air... and me... umm...yes ...right... on wards!! (I blame the pills I'm on, they make my head very fuzzy! But at least I'm not sneezing so much!)
The card. I used papers I bought half prize in last years sales, Pepper's Christmas Party. Lovely 150gsm papers, some are already glittered. I matted them onto red glitter card and miri card, which I've also had for a trillion years!
The ribbon, I bought from a local haberdashery shop last week, for about 35p a metre. The two 'Designer Epoxy Brads' where also bought in last years Dec/Jan Christmas sales at half price. They're from the Cosy Christmas Collection by Forever Friends, so instead of £2.99 they were £1.50 (for 26)
I've used my new Memory Box snowflake die cut again, coz I love it! and MUST have the corner die cut by them too...but in this case I've used a corner die cut by Provo Craft, which I've had for years. I've coloured the little mice with Promarkers...and added loads of Stickles glitter glue (not that you can see that here)
The Font is a freebie. It's called Medusa, Oops! No! That's not Medusa! Sorry! The one I've used here is called Kingthings Willowless, there's lots of 'Kingthings' fonts, (I'll have a hunt for them...all a bit different. There's another couple called Kingthings Christmas and Kings Christmas2

Happy Holidays every one! Here's this weeks Wednesday Digi. The last one of 2011! Where has the year gone! It's true, life is like a toilet roll, the more you use, the quicker it unfolds!
I thought I'd do a Busy Bee Bear carrying a thank you for all my pressies card, so you can make a thank you for all my pressies card, using him. (That sounded better in my head!) This is on timer as I'm most likely taken to my bed early tonight, with a really bad head cold and cough... As always, please don't share my digi's, send people here to download them. Clicking the Picture should take you to 4Shared. (Any Problems email me!) This Month, Spyder Has Spyed.... (December)

Happy Holidays everyone, hope you've all had a lovely time! At least we didn't get any snow, in fact it was quite warm this year! I'm sort of a bit icky at the moment (aw) with a head cold and a cough...(coff coff) No, it's not a hang over, honest! This post has been in draft for ages, so I'm just going to change the date and press the button (before I sneeze and fuse my keyboard!) and hope I've done all the links right!! I know there's a couple of cards I found but have forgotten (head like a sieve) where I've saved them, so will add them later (there's another robin card somewhere!!) or include them next month. If your card or cards are here, chose a digi or digis from the store, email me with your choice and I will email it (or them if there's two of your makes here) back to you, as a little 'Thank you' for using my digi's.

.

Elaine always makes fantastic cards and I love everything about this easel card. You'll find Elaine, this card and plenty of other amazing creations over at Simpi Crafti

My Five Favourite Christmas Cards of 2011

Debby over on A Scrap Journey is having a fabulous Christmas Card Challenge, to chose five of your favourite 2011 Christmas cards. Of course, as I said last year, that's easy, I'd choose every one of Debby's cards because they are all amazing! But of course she would like you to chose your own Christmas cards. Debby has put up a lovely prize of 6 LOTV Christmas Stamps for a random winner. This year I didn't make that many Christmas cards and there's even a few I haven't posted yet, and one I have to include...so here are...
Cosy Mices.

Jingle All The way, Deb and Alistair's Christmas Card.

Mason's Christmas card was a decoupage sheet, I didn't need to use all the pieces.

Maria and Jesse's Christmas Card is my very favourite. I love my new Memory Box die.

And last, and the one that's still in draft waiting to be posted... Tom and Emma's Easel card
Thank you Debby for the challenge!

A Bit of Pepper on Christmas Eve

Hi Peeps! Happy Christmas Eve! Sorry if there's any spelling mistakes, but I've just had some Spiced Rum and coke and it was very nice!
Hope you've done all the things you shoulda done by now! This is my last Christmas card before Christmas, well, the last one I can show you~there's a few more to come yet, which were made before this one, which has gone off to John's sister and hubby. I was hoping to reach my 1000th post before Christmas, but it'll have to wait now until the end of the year, I might just manage it!
For this card I've used Pepper & Friends Stamped image (heat embossed with black ink and clear embossing powder) coloured with Promarkers. Loads of added micro and Stickles Glitter, a bit of a die cut from Memory Box. Papers came free from a magazine last month. Sentiment done on the computer. Free Font is called Abbyline. I've also added some red stretchy Christmas glittery tinsel to the top, and red miri board.
I'm in the middle of tidying my craft room, at least we have no one staying over this year, last time that happened we spend days clearing most of everything out of my smaller craft room to make room for a bunk bed! And who slept in it?? Yep...me and Mr Spyder.... (John on the top bunk!)
Tomorrow, will be the first time for years, John isn't cooking, (so that means he won't be wearing his naughty Michelangelo's David pinny and scare any would be visitors! We're going to my parents for Christmas lunch and John's sister's for Christmas Tea, staying over and then, thinking we had the whole day off, were going to find the Boxing Day Point To Point...but, John has to go in to work for a few hours. At least not at silly o'clock in the morning, (I'm still driving him in though, just in case he's had too much to drink the night before!) That's it for now! Don't eat too many minced pies, have a good time, be safe and be merry. Bye for now!

John's Pie!

I had to add this picture of the pie John made in the week, from left over chicken and vegetables. He was soooo pleased with the puff pastry! If you look very carefully, he's even put John and Lyn pastry names on it! And it tasted good too!!

Merry Christmas, George, arf arf!

This was an unexpected addition to my, 'Quick! Make a card, you've forgotten to do' pile! Well I hadn't forgot, I have made one but suddenly realised, I'd made it using the same Pepper and Friends doggie stamp I used last year. (I love that stamp!) So I quickly printed out one of my own digi's. I bet there's not very many hairy Airedale's on Christmas cards out there this year, or any year, and not one that's chewed up your socks, (underwear) and shoes! This is George, I've made him into a Christmas card for his owners. You'll see I've given him a carpet, rather than 'grass' to sit on. (because I can!)
The 160gsm pink and green backing paper I bought last year in the sales, are by Papermania, Honey & Hugs, 'Festive Frolics'. I found them at the bottom of the 8x8 pile in a dark corner under my bench. I will definitely use them again to make another quick card, cos they are just so lovely, and I want to add more bling and maybe a bit more gold and silver.
The backing paper behind George I think is from Craft Creations, just a scrap I had left. I wanted to use it because the wallpaper in George's owner's house, reminds me of little Christmas trees, and they have a rusty browny pinky carpet so...
I cut out a second George and fitted him over the top with silicone glue, missing out his tail and all the curly bits and added loads of Stickles glitter glue. Hopefully it will be dry by tomorrow, ready to take, along with both George and his pal, Rufus's pressies... I wonder how far I'll get (One gate and two doors to unlock!) before I'm trampled on! I did think about giving the card a good chew on one of the corners...but maybe that was going a bit too far!
