Two New Digi's In Store!

Two new digi's in my store. They both were commissioned drawings sometime ago before computers! It just goes to show, you never know what you're going to find in your attic!

A Garfield Spot The Difference

I was and still am a great fan of Garfield. I found this in my attic, (which is why I haven't been crafting lately) I'm clearing it out and I'm up to my knees in all sorts of 'stuff' mostly my doodlings from years ago. This is something I drew for one of my girls birthday invites. A swimming party, I should think and this was enclosed with the invite. A spot the difference Garfield made before computers and scanners! This was photo copied and I used white out to make the differences. Have a go, I'll send the winner a crafty surprise! Email me or leave your answers here. Answers next Friday.

WOYWW!

It's Wednesday already!! And (dot dot dot) My craft room is still tidy-ish!! (Well, there's a bit of mess on the floor) and, no, I'm not going to show you. I'll just take a few really close up shots, from over head or sideways, which are bound to be blurry coz I'm short and the bench isn't!
Been clearing out the attic this week so 'What's On My Workdesk this Wednesday are a few things I found up there, which I made years ago when my girls were first at school. Word books, to help them with their reading and spelling, seeing I'm so rubbish at both! I made loads of these, the teacher kept some of them. The idea was, if they go to the right book they can find the words to make a sentence. (secretly of course I really made them for me, so I could sneak a look when a five year old asked me how to spell abominable snowman!) Every thing's covered in sticky back plastic and there's slots for the words to slip into.
The animals (before ProMarkers) were made to stick onto a plastic covered board to help build a story about a farm. (stating the obvious there really)
My Computer!! Luckily it's better now, thank you to everyone who wished it well last week. But on saying that, the add-on hard drive is making a bubbling noise not unlike an old hot water pipe, as I type... er, not sure if that's good or bad!
So apart from what you see, a bit of glitter, embossing power a knitted snowman and other 'bits' left from making a card, that's it from my desk this week. Want to join in?? Then pop over to The Stamping Ground and say hi to Julia, queen of all things woyww!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry you missed the one day freebie, but he was here for three! Watch out for the next one!

A Vampire Spider: (Closed)

Bit different this week. This Vampire Spider digi has been, according to the button I pressed, 'embossed' I hope you can use him on a spooky card. Please don't share my digi's send people here to download them! Clicking the picture should take you to 4shared. Thank you for stopping by. Please comment if you can!

Sorry you missed this one, but on the bright side it wasn't a favourite (less than 400 downloads) and there's always another freebie to take it's place!

It's A Quirky Autumn Leaves Challenge

It's that Quirky Challenge Time Again. {{{mad wave}}This time round it's Diane's turn to set the theme and she has chosen....

~~Autumn Leaves~~
So that's autumn colours, harvest time, fall, all that sort of thing but we need to see leaves too!! Don't forget you can make anything crafty, it doesn't have to be a card. ( I'm thinking compost heap now, no, forget that..that's not crafty! just smelly)
This time we're sponsored by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, so all the DT and this weeks Guest Designer had some of their digi's to play with. I used the Woodland Trees scene, printed onto my own backing paper, Leaves, which I made completely by accident. If you haven't already you can download it free here.
I also printed 'leaves' straight onto a orangey/pinky pearl card, and onto paper, printed the digi onto it too, so there's no colouring other than that. I layered the black and pearl card, added ribbon from my stash and some punched out leaves. The larger leaves are embossed. The stamped image 'Autumn' is by Hero Arts, was heat embossed using black ink and clear embossing power, was also stamped onto the same 'leaves' paper, so no extra colouring there either. The paper clip was there at first to hold the picture in place, but I decided to 'leave' it there! Everything was fixed together with either Photo and/or silicone glue and a Quickie Glue pen. So, you should now be thinking about leaves, make something crafty and pop over to Quirky Craft's Challenge blog and join in! Hopefully, this is now in it's right place! Sunday evening and not somewhere in last week!! That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Leaving You With A Quirky Peek

Aw, that's a good title, it says it all. I'm waisted here! (no not that sort of waisted!) People never call in on peeks, they are my worse posts, but well...here's my Quirky Sneak Peek for tomorrows challenge anyway. Very easy to guess this one!
And talking about guessing.... remember this one??? No! Of course not!!
Well some of you had a guess and got it right or almost, so I thought I'd show you what the picture really looked like. It's a business card I've made myself, for my 'new venture' seeing I've been pet sitting for years now, why not do it 'professionally' and advertise. The same picture I'm hoping will go onto a van...of course it'll be a lot bigger! (it'll look really silly this small!) I can but dream.
I've blurred out my mobile number as I've now changed it to a brand new one. A New mobile 'specially for this job and as no one knows the number yet, no one calls so I just play Angry Birds on it. It's soooo addictive!! If it ever rung I'd drop it in fright!!
I've also taken the 'New' out of the title and... the website isn't quite ready to be up and running yet, as I want to add more pictures, but we've getting there! Well..that's it, if you stopped by, thank you!! See you tomorrow!

Friday 21 October 2011

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

I'm so flippin' happy, coz my computer, touch wood, (or in my case, Formica and MDF) is working again! So, quick, before anything else happens to it, here's a card I made in the week, using loads of acetate, and my own digital stamp Wizardry Whiskers!
I saw a card on Create and Craft that appeared to have two layers of acetate, so I thought I'd have a go at doing the same...not so good though. I think it would've worked better if the card was smaller. This is about 8"x8"ish. Anyway, loads of stickers and peel offs, which came all the way from the USA. I've used Pink Petticoat Papers and of course my own digi coloured with ProMarkers.
That's about it really! I'm off in a mo, to do a bit of dog sitting over the weekend, but hopefully blogger will show you something I've made for my DT card for Quirky Crafts... which at this very moment are waiting for you all to go over and VOTE for your favourites, for the last challenge, which I set a fortnight ago. Fabulous creations. We on the team are sooo undecided, they are all amazing!! How can anyone choose a winner!?!
New Followers!! Hi and a BIG {{{wave}}} to Welkom bij Happy Stamper who must be a Forever Friend fan! and Allie who has some lovely cards to show you all!
I did have a few 'acetate' challenges but with my computer melt down, I might be too late now, aw.... yep, too late....oh pooohh!! But it might still fit into...

The 'What's On' That Nearly Never Happened

It's late for WOYWW for me today,I know... but what can I do with no computer!?! I'm on John's and it feels like I'm wearing someone else's welly boots and underpants!! Well, you know what I mean. (say yes Lyn!)
I really wanted to join in with What's On You Workdesk Wednesday this week, even if I am waaaay down the list, because for once, my craft room is TIDY!!! It's taken all week to get it like this! (John will tell you a month, but what does he know!)
First Picture...very sad computer... hopefully it will be better soon! My new mouse, is a travel mouse it's on a string that swivels up small for packing away in your laptop case. (Why do you need a mouse and a keyboard?...cos I can't work that finger sliding thingy!) All the pictures I took last night at midnight are blurred, probably because I was VERY STRESSED! thinking I'd lost all my 'stuff' on my computer. (I hope I haven't!) So here's a few taken this morning... with the sun shinning in...
You can see the bench!! And the window! For me this is tidy!! I don't usually craft here, as it's too low, as I stand to craft and sit to 'compute!' There's one of my still unfinished boxes with the edges painted gold. Owl is there too, before the moon was changed. Little book file contains paperpacks and booklets from magazines.
Turn left a little. All my Useful boxes are piled up on the shelves and not on the floor!! Although, the 'Man Bag' (on the floor) is filled with posh bags and boxes too nice to throw away because they might be useful one day!
A little more to the left... you can see my 'proper' work bench' !! For me this is tidy!! So, of course I had to leave that empty mug of frothy coffee! Promarkers in a box all together at the moment as they no longer fit in the draws I had for them. (well, not in a colour coded way, because as they filled the draws, when opened, sometimes the lid got pulled off! Not good if you don't notice)
Stand back a bit and you can see even my plastic boxes under my bench are tidily on their shelves and not heaped up on the floor with all their contents sprawled across the floor!!
A little to the left again and back to the door....and oops...yes my draws on wheels unit, could do with a little sort out...oh well...there's always next week! It's not too late to join in with Julia's Stamping Ground where at least a hundred plus crafters show off their Craftimess!! This has been Lyn... reporting for Spyder's Corner! Midday instead of Midnight! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh What A Night... Moonlight Owl (Closed)

Sorry you missed this one!
In the word's of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons...Oh What A Night...! (not meaning anything the song was about at all!) my poor Computer is in total melt down. Hubby has been working hard to save things and has, sort of, through going through 'safe mode' got it going, although some of my programmes aren't up and running, or taking far too long to load, if at all. I'm using John's computer at the moment and it's great, bigger and brainier than mine, but it doesn't automatically help me with my spelling! There's also a BIG problem with PaintNet, the programme I use to tidy up my Digis. (It's sooo easy for my small brain) Their last upgrade, does not open, luckily Hubby's Computer had an older version. So this morning I had to email this freebie to him, and tidy it up the best I could on his computer. It's not as perfect as I would like, as my Wacom doesn't work on his computer, (it's also not working on mine either) and it's really hard drawing with a mouse!! (they bite!) The trouble is, once I close PaintNet on John's computer the new version will automatically download, and therefore, the programme will be useless again, so...hopefully very soon, my computer will be sorted out, PaintNet will get rid of it's glitches, or maybe I'll learn to use Photo Shop by next week!!
I'll try my best to do WOYWW later... just for once my craft room is tidy!!!

Happy Anniversary Tom and Emma...

I'm a bit late, as Tom and Emma's 3rd wedding anniversary was on the 11th, so with any luck they should have received this card by now. (It was still a bit sticky when I posted it!)
Doesn't seem three years ago that I was wearing my mother of the bride hat! Anyway, the papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat (inside) and some fairy papers , which I've forgotten the name of, as I've had them for ages and Summer Papers 'quite contrary' by My Minds Eye! (that came free with Cardmaking and PaperCraft Magazine months ago) I used up some of the scraps, which is why the inside patterned panel is a bit short, added more hearts to make it look as though it was supposed to be like that. (No one will know!)
The stamped image is by Sarah Kay, which I won last year. Coloured with Promarkers and covered with lots of Stickles glitter glue.
The flowers I'm sure were a freebie from a Magazine, I've added gems.
The ribbon was from my local (not very crafty) craft shop. The little heart charm I'm sure I won that too, from Sue from one of the House Mouse blog hops. The embossed butterflies came from Create and Craft in a boxed set of cards, which came with their own add on embellishments. I've used, Nesties, Woodware punches and Martha Stewart border and fern punches
The font is a freebie, I've linked it before, it's called Ancestory SF. Download it HERE or Google the name.
New Followers Hi and a big {{Wave)) to Tracey from Stitchinwitchsratcage and Verashka from the Catsbasket, lovely blogs so go and have a peek!!
Well that's it for now, Happy Birthday (Sir) Cliff Richards and Thanks for stopping by! (that's thanks to you, not Cliff, I doubt very much that he blogs!

Another Wednesday WOYWW!

It's WOYWW again, already! Okay, we're back home (from dog sitting) so this is my desk this week...looking just as messy as always. Been a bit busy doing other things (not crafty) so not a lot going on this week, just a few digi's I was doing last night, couldn't decide which one to put on as the freebie.. (scroll down for that)
I did manage to clear a space, (move stuff to the floor) but the rest of my craft room is still knee deep! I really really must tidy up and start doing Christmas cards, but there are a few other things I have to get done first! So, very sorry for not much blogging lately.
If there's anyone out there, who still hasn't found WOYWW yet, just take a pic of where you craft and nip over to Julia's Stamping Ground!! and sign in! A very short post from me, I'm now off to find the 'Tidy-Elf' I need his help with my mess! Catch you all later!!

Puss In Pumpkin! (Closed)

Sorry you missed this weeks freebie! Look out for the latest one!! Please don't share my digi's send people here to download them! Clicking the picture should take you to 4shared, email me if you have any problems. Please leave a comment if you can!

A Quirky Spooky Challenge!

Here I am, nearly late for adding my card to the Quirky Craft's Challenge, which has started over on the Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog! (I know coz it's my turn to set the theme) And what are we doing this time round?!? Well, I decided it just has to be...
Spooky/Halloween
But of course, I know there's a few of you out there who don't do Halloween, so your challenge for this fortnight will be...
Black, Gold and Glitter!!
Of course we don't mind if you combine the two and make a spooky halloween in black gold and glitter. I've sort of done that! I've made my first centre Step card. Click here to see a tutorial on how to make one. (There are others to chose from! (I had this urge to add huge googly eyes to those boobs!!)
This Challenge is sponsored by Niki from Limited Runs, who has kindly offered 3 digi's to our winner!
Here's my card. Not very spooky at all! My big mistake was using too thinner card, so to compensate I added extra bits in the layering. I also added some gold ink to the edges, which I then covered with sparkly gold embossing powder. I've used Pink Petticoat papers along with a slice from a double sided scrapbook page my eldest daughter, Emma bought back for me, from her trip over to Seattle. (USA really do have so lovely Halloweeny Papers!!)
The digi images and sentiment (which is a set of four and a freebie!) can all be found in Niki's store. I've 3D-ed the pumpkin just to make it pop out a bit and also changed the whole image to a PGN, with clear background, so I could print in over the Pink Petticoat tangerine sky/stars papers, then fixed another image over the top of it. This way I didn't have to cut out all those little twigs, just cut them off . I fixed the bat with a blob of silicone glue. All coloured with ProMarkers.
Nikki also has a Limited Runs Challenge so if you use any of her images for this challenge, go and join in over there too!! (I have!)

Two Dogs and a bit of a Quirky Sneak Peek

Home from house and dog sitting yesterday afternoon! George and Rufus had their last walk with us and then John nipped home with all our stuff and I stayed with them and had one more 'hunt the toast game!' (They like that!)
I'm now home and have been rushing about in my PJ's all morning hunting down all the things I needed for my DT card this afternoon and guess what?? Could I find anything, no. And everything that could go wrong, did go wrong!! So here's a sneak peek of what I have done so far, not quite finished. The challenge doesn't start til six this evening so I still have a few hours!! Ummm... an hour....a few minutes ....must type faster!!!
New Followers!! Hi and a big ((wave)) to Rachel K (no link) and Lucy Pochedly! Lucy hasn't started a blog yet, but she's sent me an email showing a card she'd made using Witch Hazel! one of my digi's!! You'll get to see it at the end of this month! See you later!!

It's What On Someone Else's Garden Table This Wednesday!

Hi Guys! Happy WOYWW!. Or, in my case, happy WOSEGTW! This is 'what's on someone else's garden table Wednesday', as I'm not home, I'm away, house and dog sitting, as you may have already read.
I'm out in (someone else's) garden this week... and apart from being a lot tidier! there's some gone over Marigolds nothing of course to do with crafting and (at last!!) I've managed to start covering one of my boxes.
I'd already painted it gold some weeks ago. (This is also a clue to the next Quirky Craft Challenge in a round about sort of way, but don't tell anyone! Silence is golden!) Not quite finished it yet as I'd forgotten my 1" circle punch for the 'finger holes' in the draws and my heat gun as I wanted to add gold to the edges and rough them up a bit, so I may try doing that to the papers on the draws. See, I'm so brave, I've cut the lovely papers and now I'll just about do anything with them! (she cries...the first cut is definitely the deepest!) You should've seen me chasing a tiny scrap that the wind took half way up the garden... dogs in tow, thinking it was a great new game! "Don't chew that paper, don't chew that....givme givme!"
And talking about dogs, as you can see, I had a bit of help... Rufus and George! They were very good... although Rufus did run off with my bra, John's socks and also ate my hair brush, again (but I won't mention that) Very guilty about not getting round too many of you last week, owing to being away and the pills, but!! Touch wood, and it is wood! will do my best this week! Would try now, but, typing in the dark... (it's midnight and poor hubby has to be up a 5!)
If you'd like to join in with the biggest blog hop ever, just take a pic of your crafty craftiness and click over to Julia's Stamping Ground and leave your mark!
Thank you for stopping by. Have a great crafty day.

Ghosties!! This Weeks Wednesday Digi

Sorry you missed this one!
Some of you may already have one of my one day freebie ghostie images from last year but seeing I'm away, I've had to fall back on another ghostie digi. As you can see, this one was saved as a PGN, so it has a 'clear background' which means, if you print them straight onto your spooky backing paper, the ghosties should print out without the normal white background. All done on the Wacom Bamboo as I don't have my printer/scanner with me! (why not!!) So it's a bit wobbly (blame my wonky finger) Clicking the picture should take you to 4shared. Any problems email me!
As always, please don't share my digi's. If in doubt as to what this means, ask first!!! I'm finding my digi's on the most unlikely forums!
Links are always welcome but not the digi's themselves. This is why I've been using a watermark just lately. Don't forget I always love to see what you've made using them. Please leave a comment if you can! Thank you for stopping by!

I'm in The Dog House Again!

Are dogs clever or are they just plain dumb, or are they sooo clever they make us think they're dumb?!? (Paws for thought...) We went for a lovely walk in the forest yesterday... via the river because the dogs love the river. Today, (we're dog sitting for the week) we thought we'd do something similar, seeing it was sooo hot! (yes, it really is October!) But, no. George put his foot down, or in his case, his paw, and didn't want to get into the car. He usually tries to take a flying leap before we can get the back open. He made it quite clear he wanted to go down the lane where he lives. So that's what we did. The result was the same. Two whacked out dogs!
I haven't made any cards over the weekend because of not being in my craft room (aarrgh!!) but as The Goonies have just started on the Telly, I thought you might like a link to The Goonies Free Font
Okay, question. Who links the Goonies to The Lord of The Rings?!?
Followers! Hi and a BIG {{wave}} to Tracie, from The Crafty Touch I love your purse charm! Then Camerageek from The Meatloaf Sandwich Fab scrapbook layouts. I love the "BOO!" and also Chrisann from Give Me Time To Ink About it! A House Mouse fan I should think! Lovely Cards!
Bye for now!
