Hi Guys! Happy WOYWW!. Or, in my case, happy WOSEGTW! This is 'what's on someone else's garden table Wednesday', as I'm not home, I'm away, house and dog sitting, as you may have already read.
I'm out in (someone else's) garden this week... and apart from being a lot tidier! there's some gone over Marigolds nothing of course to do with crafting and (at last!!) I've managed to start covering one of my boxes.
I'd already painted it gold some weeks ago. (This is also a clue to the next Quirky Craft Challenge in a round about sort of way, but don't tell anyone! Silence is golden!) Not quite finished it yet as I'd forgotten my 1" circle punch for the 'finger holes' in the draws and my heat gun as I wanted to add gold to the edges and rough them up a bit, so I may try doing that to the papers on the draws. See, I'm so brave, I've cut the lovely papers and now I'll just about do anything with them! (she cries...the first cut is definitely the deepest!) You should've seen me chasing a tiny scrap that the wind took half way up the garden... dogs in tow, thinking it was a great new game! "Don't chew that paper, don't chew that....givme givme!"
And talking about dogs, as you can see, I had a bit of help... Rufus and George! They were very good... although Rufus did run off with my bra, John's socks and also ate my hair brush, again (but I won't mention that) Very guilty about not getting round too many of you last week, owing to being away and the pills, but!! Touch wood, and it is wood! will do my best this week! Would try now, but, typing in the dark... (it's midnight and poor hubby has to be up a 5!)

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great crafty day.

looking great so far...those two look ready to rumble! Hope you are feeling well and enjoy those papers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek! Sarah (at 11)
I had to laugh at the idea of you chasing a scrap of paper around the garden... we do get rather attached to our paper bits, don't we? Love the look of your wooden cubes... I just bought the large wooden framed advent box thingy and now have it bare and naked in front of me and wondering what to do with it....
ReplyDeleteCongrats on cutting the paper. It is always easier to do once you've gotten started. The drawers are going to look awesome when you're done. Hope the help doesn't get too carried away!
ReplyDeletecheers, rachel #21

hugs Judex9
Ooh Lyn, the vision of you chasing bits all over the garden and the dogs following you had me laughing, of course in my minds eye it was your bra you were chasing. I remember someone leaving their dog with a sitter and coming home to the sorry tale that the dog had chewed the guy's hearing aid - could have been worse - could have been his false teeth! Enjoy your break away.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet x
ps thanks for becoming a follower
Hope the weather stays nice enough for you to carry on crafting outside today - cant wait to see the finished box.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the box will end up beautifully... once all the scraps of paper have been retrieved.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look gorgeous!
Have a good day!

Lyn, it was obviously a very important scrap of paper you were all chasing.... hope you didn't disturb your hubby typing in the dark! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLol your post made me laugh, I can imagine me running trying to grab a bit of scrap patterened paper, I so love paper and save every leftover and those papers your working on are delicious and I agree that first cut really hurts and before I take the plunge I need to have a stroke first, o dear that sounds really sad of me lol. Can't wait to see the finished box. Kezzy x
ReplyDeleteOooh, chests of drawers, I love 'em!! So much so that Son no 2 is making me a wooden set as part of his DT GCSE!! IT's to put my sewing stuff in :D Cute mutts, btw, they really look like they're laughing!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ xx
Stirling effort on the crafting front - I often take stuff away with me and do nadda (and I'm always so organised to). Hope your bra stays in tact until you go home....
ReplyDeleteLove the workspace, especially the cute dogs! thanks for the peek and sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek and sharing.

Enjoy the dogsitting! That's the worst about being away from your place, you always forget the one thing your project "needs".
ReplyDeleteLovely garden and cute dogs too, they have such lovely faces!!! Perhaps it's because they've eaten too many socks! Enjoy WOYWW!
ReplyDeletewoohoo Lyn! Sounds like you have had a very interesting time sitting with the critters! They look so loveable and more than willing to play these new games with you. Have fun covering the boxes. Vickie
ReplyDeleteGreat table! Thanks for sharing! Loving those little drawers!
ReplyDeleteyou were very lucky to get your paper back. Neither of our two dogs would give up paper unchewed and undestroyed. I know what you mean about not wanting to cut and use special papers - it is a torture isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to craft and you're very brave cutting into that Mariposa stack! Love the cute doggies, Airedales are such lovely characters, my friend had two when I was a kid, they were like great big fluffy teddy bears!!

Hey, you craft when and where you can. And a lovely garden table is as good a place as any :)

Hi Lyn, Happy WOYWW day to you. Second visit in as many days ... can't believe it myself! Love the drawers and look forward to seeing the finished result. Also love Rufus and George and could take them home ... even thought The Boss might object! Have a great week. Elizabeth x #75
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn you do seem to be a lot tidier this week, and I hope you manage to get your drawers finished without to much trouble its been spitting with rain today. The dogs seem happy having company to. Take care and thanks for the freebie. hugs Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to laugh but I can just picture you running after that piece of paper. Anything hits the ground here and the wee fur baby goes after it so quickly....she's fast that one! Your project looks great so far can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteCute dogs! the box is comming along well, can't wait to see how it turns out. x
ReplyDeleteLaughing at the image of the dog running round with your bra....
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are getting round to doing the drawers up. I do wish you wouldn't keep showing me that Mariposa stack though, I REALLY REALLY like it but have sooo much paper I cannot justify any more paper purchases. You are a little tease and if, as I suspect I may cave in and purchase it, it will be all your fault LOL.
Looking forward to seeing your finished project.
Love Mandy xxx
I had to laugh at the thought of you chasing the paper scrap and trying to beat the dogs to it!! The drawers are going to be awesome :o)
ReplyDeleteYour post had me in stitches - so very humorous! I love those boxes, and the ideas and plans you have for them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful WOSEGTW!

Oh dear, cutting up paper - I hope you had alie down after! The dogs look so cute, hope you had a good week.
ReplyDeleteThey might be gone over Marigolds but those flower heads are gold dust.! Pick off the dead ones and place in a paper bag and take home with you. Let them dry out and you will have hundreds of free seeds to plant out next year in your own garden. They come up a treat. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThat set of drawers is coming along nicely. I do agree on how hard it is to actually use these beautiful sheets of paper !
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
No chance of crafting outside today here. You are lucky. Those 4 legged charges are cuties.
ReplyDeleteI should really get on with decorating my drawers. They have been in my room for over a year now! They are painted and built together but not decorated!
So funny - you and the doggies playing chase after a piece of paper! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the drawers after the angst of looking for papers - am sure they will be wonderful! Di xx
ReplyDeleteThat is funny! :)) Doggies are adorable and great work on the box. :)
ReplyDeleteDi again Lyn! Just a little thought - if none of your punches fit for the finger bit on the drawers - have you checked all your round dies just in case one of those would be OK? Mind you chick, you'd need something bigger than my Cuttlebug as I think the drawer set needs big sheets of paper from what you said. Ahem, you could always try different sized bottle tops as a template? Good luck with hunting the trolley down - err, try your hubby's shed/workshop first :)) Di xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your drawers and giggles. Look forward to seeing the finished drawers and loving the gold base coat, but am afraid the cutest dogs stole the show today!x
ReplyDeleteSome people would think you were mad to chase a scrap of paper around the garden. But mad is good :-) I bet you said "oh bother" when you realised you had left your circle punch behind and couldn't carry on!
ReplyDeleteLovely boxes! Thanks for the comments on my blog. I did have to do quite a bit of editing to get the fingers out of that Clementine shot!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you manage to stay up so late Lin really! Nice paper on the box. Aren't the dogs lovely, bet they really enjoy their holidays when you come to stay.
ReplyDeletethat "desk" looks like a very nice place to play. and your "assistants" are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI have nowt to say but ROFLMAO, and thanks for stopping by....
