It's Snowy!

Well, it is! (Snowy) I haven't used Snowy for ages, and he is my favourite Penny Black Christmas Stamp. (which came all the way from America!)
Here he's been paper pieced using the same polka dot paper as the card, but printed out smaller. All the paper is from Pink Petticoat's Vintage Rose.
Yes, I know, I keep using it, but it's very pretty and easy to use for any occasion, so it appears! The little snow flakes fixed over the glitter snowflakes are actually buttons, with the backs snipped off, they were from the States too.

I took a few pictures as I made this card, just in case someone might want to know!
I printed out a small square of the polka dots and stamped over it. Then cut out the scarf and a bit of Snowy's hat and fixed

them over him. I coloured Snowy with Promakers (mainly blue!) Cut out the scalloped circle using Nesties, run it through the Bigshot in a cuttlebug Christmasy folder, then stamped it.
It doesn't matter if the stamp doesn't work too well (as all you want are the fiddly bits you've cut off.
I then fixed Snowy on the die cut using Pin-Flare glue, but any silicone glue or 3D foam pads will do the job and then added a bit of Stickles glitter.
The white ribbon I got from a local store. (none left now, the last scrap!!) That was put through one of those X shaped sticker makers. I always put another strip of ribbon through at the same time, so not to waste any of it. Meanwhile, I'd added a bit of paper frill, using my MS Punch and made some small tags as the other paper I've used has words on it. (especially for you) I also punched out, Snow Flakes, tiny flowers and ovals using Woodward punches.
The little stamped sentiment I bought over in USA last year as well, it was part of a set of 6 tiny clear stamps and cost $1 in Ben Franklin Crafts. (wish we had a craft shop like that!)
I've never used it til now and didn't want it to look too black, so just 'touched' the paper with it.

Wow it's WOYWW!?!

It's Wednesday! It always zooms up on me and appears to arrive halfway through the week just after last Friday, the rest of the days of the week, vanishing into the tiny cracks in the fragment of time (oho that's deep)

For those of you who don't know (and where have you been?) To day's the day that every one (throws mud pies, strips naked and runs round a May Pole) Don't be silly, every one blog hops all over the World, (well, near enough) and snoops in on what every one else has been up to all week. As usual, I'm in a BIG mess, but busy...Craft bench looks like the hamster got out and jingled with the mice, only we haven't got a hamster (or mice ) The Elephant's are showing they used to have more toes. Superman notebook, unused, had been thrown away, I rescued it! So now, it's waiting to be 'altered.' (I've never altered a book in my life...but I can dream!) The budgie is Sue's (who won my digi banner prize last month) I have sent it to her, but I'm still playing with it too...
So, as per usual, I'm in the living room on (no, not the dining table) but my ironing board. This gives me the sense that the mess, I mean, the creativeness, isn't going to be there forever. It gives me the feeling that whatever I'm doing, it will be done and finished, so it can all be put away..tidily. .I won't mention the ironing board's been up since Sunday or that Hubby has glittered shirts for work, but!! I'm making a 'Snowy' Christmas card, at least I know it'll all be cleared away by December! (which December I can't say!) ... So, that's it! Off you go to Julia's Stamping ground and get signed on!! Elephants On Parade, ATC's

Here's my swap ATC's for the CardMaking Download forum. I'm a bit naughty as I don't really go in there very often (actually only when Ali reminds me I'm late with my ATC swaps!) This month's swap is Animals, and of course I printed out some bugaboo's because they are so cute, but then thought, no, do your own little digi elephants...so I did.

Of course they are longer than ATC's so I had to fold them, but I don't think that matters. I had to take an 'over head' shot to get them all in the picture. I also played with the digi in My Craft's Studio, and did a bit of 'tiling' and made some backing papers, as I know there's a challenge out there to make your own backing papers, (that's if I can find where it was!) I mean, it's Tuesday already, WOYWW tomorrow, I've got posts on draft, (since Sunday) which I haven't posted yet, time just seems to zoom by! John's mum's been in Hospital since last Thursday but it's the nice Hospital, (Lymington) and she's fine, so should be home by Thursday.
See what I mean, the weeks are getting shorter! It'll be Friday in a minute if I don't hurry up!

So back to the ATC's ...my didgi, coloured with ProMarkers, own background of course, set of coloured digi's re-scanned to make backing paper...and that's it!!

Tom Wins Third!

We've spent most of the afternoon watching Tom (son-in-law) playing bows and arrows! No, that's not quite true, not a green tight in sight and definitely no merry men, well actually there were quite a few, and ladies too!
Tom is really very good at this and takes it all very seriously. (I would too, now knowing that arrows cost anything up to and over £35 each!) In fact I had no idea there was soo much interest in Archery so local to me. (In another century, I kept my ponies in this field!)
Back in May, (Tom's Birthday) we (Hubby and I) thought we'd get him some archery lessons. Unknown to us, he'd already been a county winner as a youngster but stopped because of shoulder injury, so didn't really want to take up the challenge, so we got him and Emma tickets to see 'Spam' in stead...
Well, the spark was rekindled last month after meeting up with some Archery friends. Tom had ago, and ended up joining The Southampton Archery Club.
Here he is playing at his first competition for over 10 years...
He did very well and came third in his section, which I thought was pretty brilliant!

A Really Quirky Recipe!

Ok!! Quirky Craft's back after a bit of a rest, and we've decided just for the summer holidays, we're doing monthly challenges and they're going to be slightly different... they'll all be either recipes or sketches, just to keep you on your toes!! And this month's challenge, which was set up by Anne is a

Two different backing papers, at least one eyelet, one ribbon, and some shrink plastic!

Obviously we're not going to bite you if there's one thing missing, see what you can come up with! You can make anything you like, a card, atc, scrapbook page, altered art, tag, fatpage, or some other interesting crafty creation, anything!

My card, as you can see, is a Christmas card, thought I'd better start doing a few! My two papers are from 'Modern Christmas' 6x6 pack, by Paper Cellar, I've joined them with a plain white frilly bit, as I just hate two edges butting up together. The ribbon I'm sure is Do-Crafts and the stamped stocking, (I've had for ages and this is the first time I've put the results on the blog) are clear stamps by Woodware, 'Stocking Filler' (I got them for a fiver as the shop was closing down) They've all been coloured with Promakers. The brilliant thing about this stamp set, is you can fill your stocking with different things every time. There's also, holly, the word 'ho' (for ho ho ho) a heart and a star. There was a little bell, but unfortunately, I pulled the plug out of the sink before I realised it was missing! (glug glug glug!) I stamped the stocking again onto white shrink plastic and coloured it with some acrylic paints for a change, cut it out, punched a hole into it and then blasted it with my heat gun until it shrunk to the size you can see.

(Eagle-eyed WOYWW fans may have spotted the little stocking on my shelves over the past few weeks!) ...I haven't as yet added glitter, I think I may do later, probably the very fine micro glitter, (but my Quickie glue pen is empty!) Behind the images I've added a bit of Christmas embossing, using Nesties die-cut and a cuttlebug folder.

That's it! This is on timer and we're all out watching Tom, son-in-law take up archery again. He's in a competition this afternoon... so providing there's no William Tell fans out there, shooting apples off people's heads, (that was a crossbow, Lyn) I'll add some pictures later! Bye for now!

OSAAT Really Packs a Punch

No hurry for me this week to get my DT card done for OSAAT new challenge as I'm not in it. (It's the B team Lyn,) Yes I know, but I was on the list...but now I'm not, so me thinks, (like I do) it's an easy challenge, do a card anyway...and I did! but I'll show you that later in the week, as blogger was meant to be on timer, but stayed in draft, lazy devil! (no, Lyn you forgot to set the timer!) Anyway the card I've done now will be too old to put into some of the challenges I had set for it, as it's actually Thursday now, and this will appear on Sunday...confused??? Me too! The New Challenge over on One Stitch At A Time this week is... (total silence...no drum roll? Voice Over Man??? )

300 Followers Digi. Elephants!!(CLOSED)

Here's a little treat, that's of course if you like elephants! Hubby's idea to do a digital two baby elephants marching in a line, to celebrate reaching 300 followers. They're playing, 'Following the Leader,' which John said was Jungle Book, but I think it might be in Peter Pan. Yep, it's Peter Pan! (everyone sing along now!) John's just said, he meant the 'Marching Elephants' in The Jungle Book (so we were both right!)

And Who was the 300th follower?? Annyvials with 'A finger in every pie!'

A Hedgehog Flower Shaker Card

I thought I'd make a shaker card, but this time, instead of just tiny beads, I punched out some tiny flowers to put inside the shaker window as well. (Note to self. Make sure the glue has dried before you shake the card)I've used Penny Black stamp, 'Hedgehog Bouquet', which I've only had a few weeks and this is the first time I've used it. Coloured the image with Promarker pens.
All the paper and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose, very pretty, this is the first time I've used it too. I made the flowers using two Woodware punches and added some Stickles Glitter. The little heart?? First, I cleaned an empty glue tube, flatten it out, embossed it using a cuttlebug folder and cut out the heart shape with a Sizzix die-cut. (Run it through my BigShot. See WOYWW Post and before picture here) I still think it needs something else. A  little Stickeroo maybe?
Now then, I was very good and wrote down some challenges, which I had in mind when I made this card, one was to use something recycled and another was to use acetate. I had a little note book and everything, because I knew I'd lose a list, but of course I've mislaid the notebook, and forgotten the challenges. (Typical me)Meanwhile, (back at the ranch) I've been playing 'out the back' on blogger, where all the business goes on, and I had no idea there was a comment moderator thingiemejig, and there were a few comments waiting there to be published, they were comments made this month but on older posts. Now, I think I must have pressed a button somewhere, after I had all that Chinese spam, they always go back to old posts and add loads of comments. It takes an age to delete them, and what's the point, I can't read Chinese! But it's nice to know you can stop people commenting on old posts if you want to! (Update: I've now found the comment regulator for older post comments where you can delete with one tick!)
